20020601 || Seminar on Upadeśāmṛta || Perth, AU #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

A multi-speaker seminar (Perth, 2002) on Upadeśāmṛta verse 2 explaining six activities that spoil devotional service: (1) eating/collecting more than necessary, (2) over-endeavoring for difficult mundane things, (3) unnecessary talk (prajñalpa/prajalpa), (4) strictly following rules only for show or rejecting them (niyama-agraha extremes), (5) associating with worldly-minded persons, and (6) greed. Speakers (Kali Chandra, Kali Mataji and assistants) define Sanskrit concepts (antaranga shakti, mahāmāyā, yoga-māyā), give modern examples (hoarding, overambitious temple projects, workplace gossip, loss of association), and offer practical advice on maintaining Krishna-conscious practices and associating with devotees.
Upadesham reada verses 2 so this is the first verse here, the second verse. The first verse of this one's devotional service is spoiled when he becomes too entangled in the following six activities.
1.
Eating more than necessary or collecting more funds than required. 2. Over endeavoring for mundane things that are very difficult to obtain.
3.
Talking unnecessarily about mundane subject members for practicing the scriptural rules and regulations only for the sake of following them and not for the sake of spiritual advancement or rejecting the rules and regulations of the scriptures in which they even.
Find.
Associated with worldly minded persons who are not interested in Christian and 6. Being greedy for one day in the.
Church.
Tomorrow we'll just describe the six things which are beneficial for Ka consciousness and then after that the six will be changed. This verse Prabhupada explains that the Sushi are three energies. There's internal energy, there's the. What's the internal energy now anyone else? Antaranga Shakti, there's middle energy and one called Tathasta Shakti known as Jiva Shakti. That's who we are. And then there is the external energy which is Mahamaya. So Yoga Maya and Mahamaya somebody's under the protection of Ka. That means you're under the protection of KA's spiritual potency. We do that by absorbing ourselves in Ka service. O Santa Peter, those who are not devoted to great souls under the protection of the divine nature. They are fully engaged in devotional service because they know me as the spiritual supreme personality of Godhead, original and exhaustible. So Mahatma, the great souls, broad minded, Krishna conscious. So say that we're working from this platform of devotional service. That's how we can get deviated from that by these six different activities. In other words, what happens? Deviation means that we get drawn into Mahamaya. We get taken out from the shelter of the Yoga Maya who is engaging us in Ka service and we leave it opening for Mahamaya to take hold. Mahamaya is always in this material world ready to serve you. However, explain that she's just like a shadow. She's Shannon you at every moment. Doesn't matter if you're one year dually or one month or you're 10 years. For 30 years she's always right in circle. Until you go back to the spiritual world, she's there. What being an older devotee means or a more experienced devotee is that you largely remain under the protection of Yoga Maya and to avoid you do not want the service of Mahavaya.
Everything we.
Have in contact with the material world is done in a very moderated way from the beginning. That's not so easy. Gradually a person like with association practicing and they start to develop more and more pace for their spiritual life. So then it becomes imperative that they don't lose the pace. It's so hard to get this spiritual taste and it's very easy to lose it. So the tips on how not to lose it are very important. Tomorrow we'll discuss how to maintain it here first six things to avoid so we go in the order he gave him. What we do for our normal bodily maintenance is not going to get us in anger. If we do everything in moderation. If we do things for Ka, we're going to remain under the Krishna. But a little bit of excess, a little deviation and then we can get into trouble. Prabhupada gives you in the purport a very nice example. He says according to nature's arrangement, living entities lower on the evolutionary scale do not eat or collect more than necessary. Consequently in the animal kingdom there is generally no economic problem or scarcity of necessities. If a bag of rice is placed in a public place, birds will come to eat a few grains and go away. A human being however will take away the whole bag. He will eat all his stomach and bowls and then try to keep the rest in storage. According to scriptures, this collecting are more than necessary. Adyahara is prohibited now. The entire world is suffering because of it. Anyone give any example of Akyahara in the modern worldview?
Many of the celebrities etc approached them to look, you can give this food you are not using. They still wouldn't give that tons of it.
Literally.
I heard also in America they have gigantic air conditioned cakes with huge storage of butter. Because they don't want to flood the world market with too much butter and lower the price. But America has a system of distributing the butter. You get it in the form of butter oil. We got some of that one time during the war In India in 1971, the previous war with Pakistan. Hope is not a future one. So sometimes in India you find that people that they hoard, it's called hoarding, they buy all the rocks, they buy sugar in the market and they create an artificial scarcity and then the price goes up and those who are hoarding and they sell and make more profit. So then the government has anti hoarding laws that will be another form of utzer hara. So it doesn't only mean eating more than anyone else at this means collecting and Storing more than we need. That doesn't mean that Grihasta shouldn't have some kind of reserve for it. You know that grihasta 25% that can keep our reserve. And that Prabhupada used to say that his father would bridges all the food grains for the whole year once a year. In those days things were so inexpensive that for the few rupees he could buy enough rice for the whole year. So once here you just buy bulk all his grains rather than, you know, five pound or five kilo bags every month was crossed by the jerky head of scars you. So that wouldn't be considered a terrorist. If I want to say. Let's say somebody wants to go hoard some foods or not. Because what happens the next thing it says over endeavoring. Over endeavoring corrupt the stairs. The over endeavoring commanding things that are very difficult. The first company works very hard. He likes more money, more rings, more things. That's the word good. So that's not needed. But to do that you have to work overtime. If you're working overtime, all these become things that take away from the time you give for Krishna. So we get entangled in over endeavor the mundane things.
Sometimes.
Building a temple if it's like too big in proportion to the capacity of the devotees. Sometimes, you know, the temples have taken up very ambitious development projects were so big compared to the capacity devotees for years and years they struggled was a very bigotis the over endeavor. Maybe the project was never realized or took excessively long time. So seeing what our capacity is, someone has the capacity, it's okay. But over and over it depends on your ability to what a normal amount of work can be. Any examples? I was thinking of over and over doing a temple slowly. If everything else is going on, people aren't. It may be that someone plans something very rational. But if it's something you sacrifice everything.
Else.
All your normal programs to do something you can do side by side. You may not be an over and over thoughts.
I was over endeavor to think of Alexander the Great. It was complete over endeavor.
He had no.
There's no reason why he had to do what he did. He kept conquering places, but he had no way of maintaining them and lost.
Himself in the end.
He would conquer and go on. Then he would lose it afterwards.
Sometimes.
People devotees work two jobs so much it may not be necessary to work so hard. They can work a little, keep some kind for the spiritual life. Sometimes people start off with a reason. Like it's like let's just work hard, do a marathon and then we'll save money and then we'll do more Krishna consciousness. But in the meantime, because all the over and governing they burn themselves out and they're not to the end and they're not able to achieve their original goal. That's why it's important that we are able to maintain a steady practice of Krishna consciousness and we don't over never to the extent that we lose our basic practices. So collecting and eating more than this I causes prayasa or unmistung like God's arrangement. Anyone in any part of the world can live peacefully if he has some random elk cow. There is no need for man to move from one place to another to earn a livelihood for one can produce food grains locally Vietnam from the cow that can solve all economic promise. Fortunately, man has been given higher intelligence for the cultivation of Ka consciousness While the understanding of God wants relationships fits him in the ultimate role of Light Mother of God. Unfortunately, so called civilized men not caring for God realization utilizes intelligence to get more than necessary and simply eat to satisfy the current By God's arrangement there is scope sufficient scope for the production of novel pains for human beings all over the world. But instead of using their higher intelligence to cultivate God consciousness, so called intelligent members use their intelligence to produce many unnecessary unwanted things. Those factories, slaughterhouses, brothel, liquor houses are open. The people are advised not to collect too many goods, eat too much or work unnecessarily to possess artificial amenities. They think they are being advised to return to a primitive way of life. Generally people do not like to accept plain living and high thinking. That is their unfortunate position. Human life is meant for God realization that a human being is given higher intelligence for this purpose. Those who believe that this higher intelligence is meant to attain a higher state should follow the instructions of the Hindu producers. By taking such instructions from higher authorities, one can actually become situated in perfect knowledge of their reality.
So life.
So then describing all our occupational duties are ultimately meant to be performed for ultimate liberation not just for sun's gratification. Until again sometimes Bhavas people invent some religious system or misuse religion for the purpose of accumulating more. So then instead of using religion for realization or God consciousness that's also another facility to get hath Yahara to get richer. Prabhupada said if our endeavor of prayas is not to inquire about the absolute truth, we will simply increase our endeavor to satisfy artificial needs. Our spiritual aspirant should avoid mundane Krishna Gita Yuktahara Yukta Vihara. Let the moderate in our recreation, revered in our even moderate and all our activities. To do that we have to do everything for Ka under the proper guidance of one of our spiritual master. We do things in a balanced way and we protect it. But says another pattern is pujalpa. Who knows what pujalpa means? Unnecessary talking, gossiping, overmondering, just loose kind of talk. When we mix with a few friends, Problem says we merely begin unnecessary talking sounding just like the croaking of toes. If we must talk, we should talk about the Krishna Consciousness moment. Those outside of the Ka Conscious movement are interested in reading heaps of newspapers, magazines, novels, solving crossword puzzles, doing many other nonsensical things. In this fashion, people simply waste their valuable time and energy. In the western countries, old men retired from active life play cards, fish, watched television and debated about useless social political schemes. All these motherfeelers activities are cleared in the pejolpa category. Intelligent persons interested in Ka Consciousness should never take part in such activities. Now when you're in ashram you can actually practice this. But if you're looking in the material world, very tough because at least you have to. I made a mistake because I was living in ashram. I was working outside Lake Moninger for the temple in Mahal 1968. So I was just strictly following the ashram Brahmachari standard, working outside the material world. So I made so many enemies. They wouldn't talk with anybody. It was I do. I didn't want to lose my spiritual life. I had the money. We had no way of making money for the temple. There were no books in those days, there was no congregation. So they told everybody to get out and get a job. So it took me about losing six jobs to figure out. I have to start to at least play a game with the people without getting too much in pain. It was very obscure because everybody wants to just talk all kinds of crazy nonsense and nobody's interested in spiritual rights. But you have to like to keep it to a minimum. It's pretty hard. I really appreciate all the devotees who work outside in the main Ka Conscious because I know from my little experience I have it's very difficult because of the lack of spiritual association in their environment. But save a lot of internalize this talk so much. People start to know this little scripture oriented person. You can't be too fanatical in your personal viewings. But I remember like I always admired Janavi La Sapanta Jungri the Pukajarias in my airpod because I go and talk to them about something without the beauty worship. And then because I was the president or the co director of my airport. So then somebody came up and asked me something else. I looked, they wouldn't be there anymore. It's like it didn't involve them. They just were like submissive powers. Poof. They just disappeared. They just did not even. It was devotional service, it wasn't involving them. They didn't just hang around. Once we kind of hang around what's going on? They weren't did their servants and it was about Krishna. Especially if it was something like some complained about some devotees. Something like to hear all those things unnecessary. So this unnecessary talking. I remember it was always for me when somebody started talking something which I knew was not tuned same to me to be Ka conscious or something I really wanted to participate in then I always wanted to somehow bring that conversation back to Krishna. Everyone have that experience. How do you do that? What's your technique? In my life I'm going to talk about different things and only question them about what they do and all that. So as it tackles, I kind of bring fish. Not necessarily fish trying to tell, but the moves of nature, soul, all that. And then they get a job in it. And then somebody dumping on and driving a taxi get a long ride and you can preach to him. By the time the end of the ride he buys a book. So they want to change the subject to this mundane thing. This would bring a branch or something philosophical. Mataji, you were saying you have some way of doing the back to Krishna or this is money bundle.
If it's bad abilities maybe. I'm sorry, I can't talk. Laryngitis.
Oh, sorry.
It's probably best of.
Can'T do any pajama, can't do any Krishna. What did she say? So she can't say in whisper. She can.
If someone's speaking something starts to speak something that's bad about another devotee. Then you just try and turn the conversation away on what they're saying. Turn it around to be more positive, to glorify the devotees.
Any other practical suggestion? Not replying this Leave it to Krishna and pray. Just correct short saying leave it to Krishna and pray. Okay. That's the abrupt way I generally find.
That I simply see what their interest is. Always hearing philosophy. My mind brings everything to fundamentals anyway and somehow I bring that into the conversation because they're interested in.
So you just philosophicize the congregation?
Well yeah, because everything comes down to a fundamental and eventually you say so and they agree because they've got that far. You've got to be patient.
You've got to corrupt.
When you all this others talk about this and that and why and then eventually bring it to that. If you just cut them short, they just think you're rude. Because that's the tendency. Because I mean I'm presently doing work experience and it's very hard to listen to someone. I think why do they even want to talk about.
It's nothing more interesting I guess for the.
If you talk to someone you can bring it there. But it is a bit of austerity. You have to go through all this sort of soap opera of their life.
If you're in a work environment then you have to go to the. Maybe in a more intimate circle. Sometimes you can be abrupt and still.
It.
We find that as devotee advances then one of the symptoms of advanced devotee is that they can't stay out of devotional service. They have to always be doing the devotional service. Otherwise it's like. It's like they start feeling withdrawal symptoms. They're addicted to devotional feeling uneasy like I'm not doing something that I can see. So immediately you start saying something. There's a sixth 108 sense that.
Warns.
You that you're going into Mahamaya territory. You're losing. You're going out of the protection and you don't feel happy about it. So that kind of a sense develops and then you want to bring back the conversation with Krishna or end it or do something. So it's very natural. You want to always remain in somehow a Krishna environment. At least the one in the workplace. Think and remind about Krishna. Not just dive into a job procession for somewhere very new. They probably get to know for a while sadistica out of devotional thought altogether for a while. And occasionally they're coming into it once devotional service. Bhakti Yoga means to be immersed in devotional service all the time. And so only it can achieve that. And actually always feeling that with spiritual peace and happiness. But called bliss. These things are what will take us out of it. Just getting into some prajalpa stuff unbearable. So bringing things back to Krishna. It's connecting things up to Ka that maybe you feel some greater sense to it. For the sacrasancy of the temple. The best. Of course today was the joyful talk about Krishna all responsible. I found that the Muslim awakening. You don't do work so don't fast it too much. Your boss doesn't like just the other.
Workers.
Janasanga refers to associating with persons not interested in Ka Consciousness. One should strictly avoid such association. Samartam Vastakra has therefore advised us to live only in the association of Ka Conscious devotees Bhakta samivas. One should always engage in the service of the Lord and the association of the Lord's devotees. Association with those engaged in a similar line of business is very conducive in romance in that business. Consequently, materialistic persons form various associations and clubs to enhance their endeavors. For example, in the business world we find such institutions as the Stock Exchange and Chamber of Commerce similarly have established the International Society for Ka Conscious to give people an opportunity to associate with those who have not forgotten Ka. The spiritual association offered by our ISKCON movement is increasing day by day. Many people from different parts of the world are joined in society to awaken the dormant Krishna consciousness.
So giving up.
Associating with worldly minded persons who are not interested in Ka consciousness. That's where the advantage of an ashram life. One can more or less play this. But again, one's living and working in the material world. Then obviously you have to interact with your fellow work colleagues and your family members. But that in itself is not meant to be a big entanglement. But there's a kind of a level like later on the two verses about sharing love with others. One is opening your mind. So one level of association with somebody is really revealing your mind to somebody and telling you their inner thoughts and hearing that person's inner thoughts. So if the person is not a devotee, you really don't want to hear their inner thoughts unless you want to guide them and help them out of the body. But just like to be absorbed in their desires in a kind of a friendship way, it's not going to be very spiritually uplifting. We can give association to someone that we're strong enough and that we try to help people. So even when we hear their problems, they hear what they're doing more like a doctor or a counselor to help them get out of that. That's another thing, just kind of opening and sharing and a loving way without someone who's not a devotee. And that becomes kind of untangling. You know how association like recently we celebrated the machine of Chetra dusting and there Pilates talks about association. He says association is just like a mirror you intend to be associating with some persons. You tend to mirror their natures. Probably this example, somebody associates with people that smoke tend to start smoking. If you associate with people, take Drugs then it's very easy to fall into taking drugs. People are drinking when they start drinking. There was once new devotees in Atlanta, Georgia, America.
And.
For some reason they left the association of the temple devotees and start coming for a while. And so the wife was more Krishna conscious. She wanted to go, but the husband had his friends friends. So the friends driving around town in their car and one of the friends decided to just take out a gun and shoot somebody as a driving bike. Fun. Totally the mode of ignorance type thing. The police apprehended. So they're all arrested for attempted murder. 40 years sentence.
Pudding.
For the first time he went out with his friends and apparently it was like not a regular thing. But he said, come on, come along, have some fun. You know, goes out with the friends and they're in Cameroon and they do some crazy thing. And so then nobody would tell who actually did it because of, you know. So then they're. All of them are they know somebody that carted it. So they're just keeping everybody in it. And the wife was really. She came to see me. She was so much pleased with my husband. Definitely want to come back to Krishna devotee association. This was the worst thing. He got into this association that time was in jail. Somehow the realms they got. We saw a good afternoon that came back. I love that kind of association. But to choose a good association, a spiritual association. So why the association is going to create it? That's one thing officially in our work to go out and enjoy with them or just pass the time in some kind of work material activities. That type of associations of ulama especially avoidant. So that's where people have a Ka conscious family. And they make the house a temple associated with devotees. Or the temple go with other devotees. Create a circle this horrible beginning against its own pristik. How many of their old friends now sometimes they try to bring those friends, sometimes you can't bring them, sometimes you can't. Sometimes they may not be interested. They don't have the same calling. They don't feel the same inspiration for spiritual life at that time. So then they start to feel the loss of their friends. So it's a known principle in our congregational preaching that we have to give a lot of sense people be very friendly to them, make them feel that they belong. Because they may be losing so many friends by being devotees. They're starting to practice Krishna consciousness because the interest of a spiritual minded person are going to be different. In fact, Bhagavad Gita says like day and night, those who are in an order of goodness for them. It's a time of awakening. It's a time of so that when people are going in that transition from a materialistic life spiritualized style that many of the friends and contacts they had, they're not to be very conducive for the spiritual life. And they may not be interested in practicing events whether they be friends. So like the next verse, it says this verse tells to give out material association. Next verse tells us to take the spiritual substance so everything has to be replaced. All these things you can't just like the mopa jab zone talk about Krishna. No Majal association you can or heard it. That's not the solution. Nobody can do that right here. Ideas under find your body association. Avoid getting too much entangled with this Yamadian association. Sometimes I have to be honest with all things that I have a different role of my life differently. I don't have the same interest that I used to hear. I see something deeper. This is about what you sharmity to his students. When he became Krishna conscious.
He told.
His students that they complained to him that he used to tell us all mundane are examples for the Sanskrit of education. Now they tell them all about Ka and Vojitani confiding them. I'm telling you Matrishna, because I realized that this Krishna is the supreme absolute truth. He's the Sourmona, he's everything. So how can I give you an education which is less than what I know? I can't cheat you. It's just to please you. But if you don't want to study agnmi anymore because you don't want to study only in the mundane point of view, then it's all right with me. You're all free to go. And if you want to study agnuni now you have to learn the Sankirtan process. January Krishna Congregation that you're going to learn for me about the absolute truth. If I'm your teacher, I'm going to teach you the best I know I'm not going to teach you halfway please you. It's up to you what you want. Then these students stood up and said you always give yourself the best. And now that you realize that this is the best, you want to stay with you. You don't want to look at it. You can't blame us if we didn't do know about some Tennessee. So why don't you bring on Srivastaka and his other devotees said no Sankirtan and teach us. But when we're here we don't want to leave because the life Hank before he came back after being initiated, he was doing kajal. All worlds did. He came back and then he was doing only ka paths. Even the students went to complain to the teacher. His teacher, Lord Chaitanya's teacher, what happened to him? He's changed. Now he's like talking about Krishna. So even in Caitanya's Leela he shows this mad people don't actually wonder. Of course, sometimes you have to display a drama when you're in a workplace and let people know that so much devotee. Especially if you work in the Middle east, in an Arab country. But maybe here in Australia is not so heavy. You can get away with get people for shadow and be translated. They may even ask you something about Krishna. Then you have to find the balance. But the idea is to really concurrently associate with devotees. That's what's so good about this kind of retreat. You get a few days. You get to be in a total environment of associating with devotees. Even when you're playing minutes of playing games with devotees. It still is more spiritual to play water sports, which is Krishna's name. Even the play is more oriented towards Krishna. It's the more advanced Krishna. So one of the associated with devotees. We wake up all the time with Krishna Maharaj teaching a yoga class. Textual speech, accepting some of the structural rules and regulations for media benefit. As utilitarians advocate is called niyama agriha. So the word here is niyama. You want to write niyama. Niyama means what everyone knows. The rules, the rules and regulations. And then we have the word adjournment. So if in the Sanskrit you can combine two words. So when it says niyama agrama can mean two things. It could be niyama agrahans. Niyama and agriha combined becomes a long. And a short also becomes long. Two shorts become a long. So either way it's going to have a bond. So it could be both. So niha means rules and agraha means enthusiasm. Shrina an enthusiasm or an involvement in following the rules. So one thing that's with the longing that means accepting rules and regulations for mud benefit. Neglecting the rules and regulations which are meant for spiritual dualities called niyama agra. Without the long a short, a niyama agra. When he puts the two words together, niyama agraha. It should be either so being too fanatic for the rules or being too negligent of the rules. Either extreme is not good problem. So the word agra means eagerness to accept. And agraha Means failure to accept. By the addition of either of these two words in the word Niyama rules of manipulation, the word niyamagarha is formed. Thus Niyamagraha has twofold meaning that it is understood according to the particular combination of words. Those interested in Ka Consciousness should not be eager to accept rules and regulations for economic development. Yet they should be very faithful accept scriptural rules and regulations for the advancement of Ka Consciousness. They should strictly follow their regular principles. By avoiding illicit sex, meeting and gathering. One should also avoid seeing. One should also avoid association of Mayavadis who simply write swing Vaishnavas, Bhakti Kamis who are interested in mature happiness, Mukti Kamis who desire liberation by emerging in existence of the formless absolute and Siddhi Kami who desire perfection of mystic yoga or practice. These are classified as atyahadis. To associate with such person is not all desirable. So Niyamagraha, your tsum person. They're so fanatic. You know, maybe somebody's sick. You gotta go to Mumbai. You gotta go and force the person or you have to pass. You gotta do something. They don't apply the rules properly because of over excessiveness. They burn the person out. They're not really seeing what's the needs of that person spiritually. They're just fanatically following Samrul without understanding what the purpose of the rule is. So that becomes a mangraph. Just excessively following some rule, but not really. For Krishna consciousness we're doing it to show off to people but not actually wanting to do Krishna conscious. Then the other extreme is just neglecting one spiritual practice of the pilot wanted. Lowriam means being greedy for material things, greedy for containing things which are not needed for a Ka Consciousness. So in this way these are all the six things which are obstacles known as spiritual life. So it was a very good guide by Rupa Goswami that we should avoid these six obstacles in our Ka consciousness so that we can advance to discuss briefly those things. Our time is well over. Kali Chandra wants her to teach us of the proper attitude for devotional service. Hare Krishna. Tomorrow we'll discuss the thing six things.
There's one devotee in London and he does actually some kind of therapy and he does. Sometimes he goes right in the street and has this jinbei drum and he gets people, you know, come on, come on. And then he does like that and he starts playing a drum. Okay, everybody stand up. Everybody go like everybody say knee to the eye. And people do it. The carmes do it. They have, you know, it's like not religious. Some kind of therapy. We were doing it in Poland at the Woodstock. It's a very nice way to break the ice and also wake up. You want to come on, just have a little fun. Icebreakers.
I think he will regret Russian style. We're going to do snake dance. We're jumping on the right, on the left hand, on our left legs, one circle.
Sam.
And now we can as quick as possible.
And then we do it better without it. Like some athletes, they say that they practice more by thinking about what they're to going to do them by actually practicing. So if we're thinking about chanting, and I'm going to chant, you know, tomorrow I'm going to go to art, then likelihood of doing it, you know, if we're positively imagining ourselves, you know, chanting or remembering Bhagavad Gita or distributing books. Like when you go every day, then you start to think about the next day and you start to think about where you're actually like doing it in your mind. And willing. Everything begins with thinking. So if we're thinking, you know, about kindness, all these things, and maybe it'll take time. Thinking, feeling and willing. We think about something and we feel like doing it and then finally we do it. That's just an automatic process that's explained in scriptures. All right, did anybody think then about what they have to be thankful for? Is there anybody here you can thank for something you can actually say right in front of everybody? So and so, you know, Karma, thank you for making such nice cookbooks. You know, something to anybody.
Right.
And he likes mangoes. He comes for the news. That's what he says. But actually he likes his anyway. It's important you think about it. You know, we actually owe everybody for everything. Anyone else have anything they're thankful for? Any esoteric things?
Nothing.
Prabhupada's books. That's a good one to think about. If you think about all the things that you have to thank Prabhupada for. Who's got their hand?
Maharish. I'd like to thank Prabhupada. Prabhupada for giving us this whole process and to be able to see devotees change, you know, it's a absolutely amazing to see the change in their devotional lives. Yeah.
Think of just. Somebody just starts thinking of all the things Prabhupada did that are just every one of them is amazing.
Right.
Like what.
Led really excellent. Kiraton.
Okay. He went to London. That's the first amazing thing. He went to America. Somehow he translated and got Bhagavatam published with practically no support.
What else? Sending his disciples to Australia. First branch of the Kushna Conscious movement in Sydney.
He what?
Sending Upendra and Ballymar back to Sydney.
How did he exhibit this one? Tolerance.
In the early days he was very lenient with all his young disciples. He didn't see the crazy lives they were living. He wasn't horrified or disgusted with them. Mummy. And giving all the time back to the soy stricken Control.
That's right. He tolerated so much. First place he had to live in America. First. First he didn't even have a place to live. And that. What was the name of that? Yogi? No, the guy he used to live with. Dr. Mishra told Prabhupada you can't speak at the meetings. You can only chant. Because Prabhupada would always defeat my Vaigal. He said probably couldn't speak. He lived in a little room with no windows.
He had to go to the bus.
Stand to have a bath. And he tolerated.
Respectful. Give credit to his.
Perfect humility.
It's pretty good to see the slide.
Yeah, it's good to see.
It's actually very nice. This is all from this camera? All the flight. Yeah.
Jam.
