Jaya Pataka Swami describes building the Vedic Planetarium, a domed temple project, and details the casting of massive solid deities, including materials and weights. He updates on temple development in Malaysia and discusses fundraising and logistics for Gaudiya Vaisnava festivals.
Saint June 2003 Sakura Jar Sam play it's 500 years ago took Jiva Goswami around Naradita and that's called tour that he took is the another deep down Vikrama we take the devotees every year. And during that tour then there are a lot of discussions going on. So one of the discussions was Nithyananda Guru predicted that in the future there'll be 200 years of high flooding and most of the people will move out from Mayapur area. And like this it'll be empty for a long time. Then after some time, after some few hundred years then the people would start to come back and he said that there would be a temple constructed there which he described as Ek Adaputa Mangir Ayve Prakash. That's the Bengali language. Eka means the one. Advta means astonishing or astounding like really amazing. Mandir Prakash means manifest. One very amazing, very astounding temple with manifest. And he said Duranga nitya seva paribe Vikash from that temple the eternal service of what Chitangya would extend to around the world. So that Prabhupada asked us to construct the temple of Vedic Planetarium which we didn't really know about this prediction so much before. We know that Bhakti did not predict it that there would be a temple there. But now again we found that actually Mityananda Prabhupada also predicted and the Trinibasacharya had actually seen the temple. He About 50 years after that was also taken on a Navargu Parikram. And afterwards he was resting and he was in the same house that Mochitanya lived in. It was still there in about 50 years, 20 years after. So he was just thinking of how much attended the supreme personality and backhand he lived and like such a simple biblical way, all ecological. Bamboo houses, Ganges, mud and cowed on the floors and things. This is kind of astonishing how the Lord lived in such a simple way then he was just like digesting the whole all the things he heard and all the past times. Couldn't really get to sleep. He was just thinking, thinking in the middle of the night. Sometimes he dozed off and then kind of a vision, Lord Chaitanya took him, came and just picked him up because he was thinking like it's too simple, you know, it's just like too simple an environment for something so glorious. It was like kind of a shock for him. Then Lord Chitan took him up and flew him in the sky. Then he had an Aerial view of what Malad Devdam looks like from the higher dimension, where it was like all the golden houses and the gold wall and the different islands. And in the center there was this. There was a temple. But it had a shape, kind of a chandoga, which means kind of a domed temple. Domes are not traditional architecture of Bengal. But somehow that's what the shape was described. And that's the design we've made. It's a domed temple. So then threw him into the temple. And there is large altar or stage. There was the Panchitajpa in front. There were devotees, thousands of devotees of all different races and countries. And people he never, you know, saw before. You could see never been outside of Bengal. So you see all different kinds of people. And there was a huge Archie going on. And the panchata was undo and the altar. He woke up and startled almost too much. So he had seven visions like that. And he saw in this temple different dimensions of different. Like vaikuntha, different parts of the universe. So Prabhupada, he asked us to build the temple of Vedic Planetarium where we would show different levels of the universe in this temple. So it's like kind of like amazing because all I used to maybe the past 10 years, he found out about this vision that Shrinivachacharya had. So that Prabhupada was really exactly describing what we had to build was very much similar to what Srinivasacharya had already seen. So we've been struggling with. I used to come to Europe every month. We're designing the temple in England because they had experience about Gothic masonry structures running like a temple that would last a thousand years. And so they had experience as one engineering company. They had experience constructing or repairing ancient cathedrals, how the engineering of it went. So they seem to be the most qualified help us to start to design engineering for architectural kind of a masonry dome structure that would last a thousand years old. Then. Well, as you know, there was a lot of that was being promoted by somebody connected here with this part of the world. Things got set back a little bit. But then we kept on with the planning and shifted operations to India. And this. Someone recently had a vision that unless we install the big deities, the temple won't manifest. The deities come first, house for the deities come second. So that put. Anyway, at the same time, we were already planning. We had made the models for the big bilis, all different things. We decided, let's put this on a fast track and let's install the bilis because we had a temporary temple built for the deities and then we shift them when the big temple is ready. So there were so many people who wanted to contribute for the deities. Some people wanted to give a large sum donation. So we thought that we don't want anybody just to take the claim that we made contribute to the deities. They wanted to make it open for everybody to keep. You can contribute even a small amount, like about €35. You can contribute one kilo of the. Or if nobody has money, they can write a hundred names, 100 times, Hare Krishna mantra, a thousand times, whatever the hundred they want. And we'll put the holy names underneath the deities for auspicious space. Wanted to give everybody the opportunity to participate. So then I have some brochures. Everybody's interested. Yeah, the brochures. And then. So then we found a sthati in South India that was. See, the way you make a deity is supposed to be solid. Usually the way you make statues is they're hollow. But babies aren't supposed to be hollow. Supposed to be solid. But normally very few people make 2 meter 10 high divis. So other solid rocks and brass and gold and silver. So of course he said one of the ideal mixes would be about 16% silver, 8% gold. We figured out each deal cost us about $1.2 million. Use a little milder mix, you know, that was a bit out of our budget. So basically what they do is it's mainly brass, but they put another mix of a little gold, little silver, other things with it. Just like a token, a few kilograms. Nothing like it. Because the actual. We cast Lord Chaitanya Devi about a month and a half ago. And that came out very nice with this craftsman from South India. The DeeDee weighs about 1,800 kilos. We need some strong pujaris to move. And then I was there for about on the 8th of May for the casting of Arditinanda. That was for me, it was a very. I just been in a festival in Malaysia. I flew in to Chennai, did one day preaching, inaugurated a mural of Partisarati and the Parthasarati temple, ancient temple, many thousands of years old, of Krishna guiding Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. So the devotees had outside made a mural of Krishna and Arjuna chariot which was about maybe 5 meters wide, like 4 meters high, the entrance of the temple. So there was a big public program to inaugurate that. So I spoke with that. So we started praying. I was just already getting in the mood at this praying very intensively for the coming of the deities. I ask allies to make a prayer because deities of course casting is a very material. But it's all part of the leading up to on February 23rd when we'll have the actual installation for the 20th, 21st, 21st, 22nd, 23rd to request duty Chaitanya Mahu and the other Panchatatvam to be present eternally there in the deity form. Deity is in a Vedic culture called Archa avatars. An avatar is the incarnation of Godhead. So these are incarnations who manifest for the purpose of being worshiped because we're not pure enough to see the supreme personality back here in the spiritual form. So he manifests a deity form that we can see and we can worship. Just like here we have Nitaigor. The devotees are dedicated to serving their lords and this way it's a permanent relationship. So getting all the devotees from the world are praying and desiring for the Panchatatra to manifest in a very dynamic way and start the increase the northern toe. So that night after Chennai I went down to Srirangam by train. And that's the largest temple in India. The Ranganath has a very ancient deity that was the personal deity of Lord Ramchandra. Morning down dark shadow him they gave me a special pass to get right up in front of that queue. Otherwise it was a few hours wait. We had to go off for some other program. So there also he prayed to Ravi Nathan that all this deity installation was successful. The whole day praying different deities for successful manifestation of Lord Sinanda and all the Panchataka. Then that evening we got to the place called. It's near Kumbakonam. It's called Swami Malay. That's the place where the craftsman was casting the devis. And so then I could see oh, what Chitanya Castle. He's a little fatter than. Because they put an extra quarter inch on him because they're going to polish him down. Not really fat, but just wider. It was very nice, very nice features. So then by 10 o' clock we were going to begin. So there was many over 100 devotees who gathered from different places to be there. It was like a real event. And when I saw him they had four different places where they had blowers, saboing and Coke under these 44 carbon crucibles which contained molten metal for the casting. So they had a. A certain mix that was predetermined that Lord Chaitanya should be yellow gold and Lord Lytianato should be a Little bit reddish gold. So we had it all worked out. A proportion of copper to bronze and other things. They're putting that in there. You can imagine the whole site was maybe four times larger than this property. It was. They were at the time they had the mold of burjington heated up for a couple days, two, three days. It has to be a bit hot. Otherwise you put molten metal or something cold and can crack it. They've been heating it up at the same time. Then they buried it into the ground. With the feet just sticking out a little bit. Just the feet. And the holes were in the feet area of the mold. First we had a fiberglass mold. They made a clay mold and Mayan pour from that, they made fiberglass. The fiberglass was shipped down there. From there, they made another mold on top of the fiberglass. And two halves. Took out the fiberglass mold, United those two together. Then I fill that with wax. And then I don't know if I'm missing. Since I'm missing some stuff. I don't want to somehow. They make a mold out of wax. And over the wax, they make this casting mold, which is another kind of. So nowadays you can do it out of porcelain. It's very expensive. Otherwise, normally do it out of wax. So an overlap is gigantic. It has to hold almost 2 tons of molten metal. So it has to be quite a sturdy cast. So then, like that. Then they heat up that and drain out all the wax. So when we were there, they put it into. They cast into the ground, the mold. And then they were covering it with moist dirt. Because. So the inside had to be warm. But to cool down the metal, it had to be cool on the outside. That is the whole system. It's all kind of educational for me to see all the things they're doing. But they were packing it in because there had to be a lot of support. Because in case any part wasn't properly supported, the metal could pop out that area. So these are all kind of like the industrial silo that was going on. All the devotees were very anxious for the whole operation. And then so I went to one other local temple, One Morgan temple, And gave a program to some devotees. There were several devorah tied there. And the different separated devils. Different devotees had given. Apart from the main devotees who are sponsoring the kilo metals, Some people give gold. Some people, they don't really get any material recognition for that. Because they have worked out some way of doing that. But there was two kilos of silver Last time. We had three kilos for more chitanya side son. I had a disciple there who was jewel or goldsmiths. I haven't gone by another kilo of sula. That's my Muhammad donation at the moment. And then many people had given gold rings and bracelets and pieces of gold. So they divided all that up into 44 packets and put it on paper. And then after 10, we did a sankalpa where we chanted the Sankalpa mantra or brahmadi dyamparagi parasite, all the traditional sankalpa that we're going to be casting deities reflection for the purpose of installing this essay. Nitya Borditynamba and the following people are the yajamanas who are sponsoring this casting. But those people who are given the gold and silver, plus other owners, their names were there on the list of five pages of names. Someone's reading out in different baby ratsi and dasa. Some people who are bhaktas and blackins. Everybody's Name took about 20 minutes, five pages of different names. And I was thinking, well, these people are really fortunate to have their name on this list and be part of the whole situation. Those who wrapped participating in this cast day, they're missing out on some. I was very glad I got that shiloh silver. And then so after that, then we had these 44 packs of. I said I had one extra kilo of silver. So he said, I could put that in Lord Duncananda's head. I have more silver in gold. So the first Ruso, we put the silver in the whole packets. You can't just put it in because it's all tremendously hot. I don't know what, 1400 degrees centigrade or something. It's like really hot. So someone put a wet chowder over me and they have a long carbon spoon. There's a long means like maybe 2 meters long, not very long. And that wet chowder within about 10 minutes got so, so hot. It was like wearing boiling water. It wasn't very hot. It was very hot because I guess before they use bellows, now they have some motorized system. And then so each of the crucibles, I put one of these packets of valuable metal into the spoon and I held the spoon over and they had me personally turning it. So I turned it into each. Then as soon as it was in paper, but as soon as the paper went up and then it went, the metal melted with that. So after finishing all the rounds, putting the metal in all the different crucibles, then we had everybody up, the devotees stepped back. They did show me the mold for Garadha. He's the next. Maybe he's being cast now already, because he said once every month they're going to cast. And now it's one month after the 18 numbers. Maybe this time they're casting Gandar. He'll have the same color, like 1, 2, 10 in golden yellow gold. Anyway, we all move back and we started the whole time. Rukmini Ramana was chairman Kirtan, the Denmark representative. He was leading the Kirtan. So then they had all these workers pretty well organized, and they have this kind of big spoon, I don't know, like a pincer that you can hold. And you're maybe a meter away at each side from the molten mound on the crucibles. Somehow they carry that. Take it over. Talking about manual. I'm sure in the west it's all, like, mechanized, but here it's all kind of a manual. Running with his hot mouth in the metal and pouring it in the feet, the hole in the feet of Lord, looking under. So after about 20, 30 minutes of running around and we're chanting, then the metal started pouring out from the feet and it's like it filled up and they're all, like jumping hot, cheering, saying Haribo and everything. So then they kept, you know, like how when you sometimes you want to fill up your gas tank, you kind of shake the car a little bit to get the nose. Of course, they couldn't shake the bili, but they kept pouring little bit by little bit and kind of putting it around. Just kind of like make sure that there was no air bubbles or anything. So then they added you to an arti dumba. So I was there doing an aarti. And then there was so important little metal in the. It was already overflowed. But they just kept putting a little bit more just in case. Suddenly a whole stream of hot metals went for my feet. I don't know if that was a blessing, but I decided that I didn't want to touch my feet. So jump back real quick. I don't know if I can really convey what everybody was feeling. It was just like, very. It wasn't apart from being a very interesting kind of experience of Cassidy, but it was like something much more profound like that. With just one step in the manifestation of the Panchatatva and the development of the large temple. So we're hoping also to get through the sponsorship of the Devi's medal and little sponsors, we'll have enough donations to be able to actually start the foundation of the main temple. Because Ambresh Prabhu, the grandson of Henry Ford, he promised that he would match whatever so many people wanted to contribute. We can raise a million dollars. You match it, we'll have 2 million to start the. He wanted to do that. Not like so many big donors, but just let everybody have a chance to get a smaller donut. But it's like 14,000 kilos is what I saw in the brochure. I don't think it'll be that much. Easter EElys 1008. But that's not even with the SM. We never really know how much they weighed before till we cast something like that. 14,000 or 12,000. So that's everything's way on schedule so far. I haven't checked my email for a couple days to see what's happening with Lithina. With her. They demand her approval and then we'll come Advaita Acharya and then Shrimass. So it's kind of what's happening. We're all gearing up for a very big festival this year. Already most of the guest houses have been booked. Usually people only booked the last month before. But now such a. Seems like maybe 10,000 people might be coming in since they don't know. A lot of interest. I don't know what we're going to do in the house everybody. We're going to have to come up with some facilities. A lot of interest in this year's festival. We're shortening the festival a little bit so that the GDC can all be there for the BB installation. But for sidebar. That's what's happening in that area. I would like to be there for the devious set up the technology that we can have streaming video so that during the whole ceremony to the Internet everybody can watch to stay in the other town, keep up with the local services. Hope to see a few reps at least from Denmark. Chance of a lifetime. What else would you like to hear about? We heard something about the elephant. There's some talkative the elephant in my forest is feeling. Moaning yeah, we could lose another elephant. But we don't. We haven't been able to learn elephant language that you know exactly what you're feeling. But in general I like to have something. Originally we had three elephants and one died as a baby. Then one was very big. This was a young one. She's still quite young. She's maybe only 18 years old or something. She's just got over a teen and. And the older one was maybe in 50s somehow got some disease. And untimely passed away. This is elephant. She's young lady because I knew her when she was just a couple years old, a little baby. Since then I used to tickle her under the arms, her front legs. And she liked it. It's one place they can't scratch. So they like it with scratch in there. So since that time she still. Every time I come back, she smells me. I don't know how she tells who I am. She grabs my hair and pulls it up and puts it under her leg. But she's not little anymore. She's maybe three meters tall. And she doesn't know how powerful she is. I heard you established the association of followers the Prabhupada in November 5, 1977. He registered Bhaktivedanta Swami Charity Trust. And the purposes were to I contribute donate money for repairing old temples and Lormal Babumi as well as to develop the facilities for pilgrims to visit Mayapur Da and Ava Pitao. And one of the purposes was to unite all your Vaishnavas generally and specifically that members of the Saraswat Broly of Heaven. So we've never really taken too much action on that for so many years. And probably the life changing that trust sabas must be about eight years ago. So that years ago, the exact year right now. I'll handle it. That we took the blessings from all of Prabhupada's godbrothers and we called a meeting of all the members of the Saraswat family. That means descendants of Bhakti, Siddhanta, Saraswati, Taipur. So at that time there was another group that had made world Vaishnav. And they were objecting that we don't need to lose. But I present that that's a very Greek idea. World Vaishnav, all the Vaishnavas in the world to cover ravages on Pradeh and all kinds of believers and one God, one absolute truth. So this is a much more focused agenda. Trying to unite the followers of Black and suddenly some way or another to work together cooperatively. So then they took a vote and they said that charity begins at home first. That's good. World lifestyle is good. But we need to have our own family and different. All the problem brothers that were present in the world they all either sent messages before they came and they so then even formally launched it as an association. The Saraswat Gauria Vaishnav Association. And every year before Goru Purnima we have our annual meeting. Not too many ISKCONs of all ISKCON. But maybe some leaders. About five leaders come every year. Different Sannyasis and Jesus have come over the years. Rabindra Prabhu Kauishandamashi comes very frequently. Then representatives from about 30 different GOMI and West coast. More or less everybody is represented for many years. Narayan Mars never came. A lot of people complained about him amongst the other Goyimas because of his policy of re initiating people which is not part of our culture. But it's a really shame people those gurus are in good standing. But the past two years he sent two years to go on the observer. And this year he sent. I mean he sent. But his temple conglomerate was represented by the secretary this year. So it's like there's light at the end of the tunnel. Because amongst all the members they all agree that there should not be any kind of reinitiating of disciples from other temples. So many basic standards that in principle were all agreed on then. So recently the latest developments with the habits now most everybody seems pretty much kind of like I just noticed in the paper today. The EC is trying to work out what's going to be the new constitution. With all the new countries that are coming in. The small countries get this veto power. They feel nothing will get decided. Trying to work out those kind of modalities. And some people want a very integrated European with much more of a continental character. And many people want more like the member state rights. The member country rights should be made protected. That's kind of the issue that's with the EC and constitution. So I took a lot of inspiration from the EC because to me it seems like we are facing the same kind of situation that today everybody is very concerned about their member rights. They don't want to unite together as one big society. Each one wants the unity and diversity. They want to maintain their separate identities pretty much. At least the big ones, small ones. But that's the general mood. So they stress that we want unity but in diversity. So it's like a limited kind of unity. But we've done some things jointly. We've joined Bhakti Vinod Thakur and Bhakti Siddhanta Sahib Thakur up here in state festivals we've said we've improved. We have joint pilgrimage for facilitation during Gorko Nima festival. You might notice the past couple years there's loudspeakers on the road and they're announcing if somebody loses their kids or something. That's organized by the SVGA and you know, in some kind of harmless ways. We're working together. We've signed some court cases and stuff. There used to be picnickers that would come and and barbecue animals right in front of the temples, pulling out the feathers from birds and stuff. And it was like horrible. So we got the government wouldn't do anything. But they went to the court and said that it's offensive to our religion that people are barbecuing the animals within 100 meters of the temple and stuff, not 130 meters. So the high court gave an order that no picnickers who are having non veg can come and barbecue up their stuff in front of the temple. So on the basis of that high court order, we have a gate about 7km just by the railway crossing the Korean Land Court. There's a gate there. Then picnic scene and they check all the buses to see nobody. If they want to do barbecuing, there's a local guy there that has a big field and he rents the field. They can go 8km away. They can do their barbecues whatever they want, but not by the temples. So we've done a lot of kind of joint things like that. But there's a lot of difference between what's spoken and what's done. Sometimes we're making baby steps forward. The latest thing was for the past two years we've been working on our own constitution. We're going to register ourselves. We have a constitution. But then all the member organizations have to buy into the constitution. Kind of like here. All the eastern states have to agree in the future to whatever the constitution will be. So that took two years of negotiating and coming to at least that to the representatives there. They were all agreed looking at a basic structure. So I'm supposed to write that up and send it around to all the which I got to do to all the member organizations and see if everybody buys into went in our favor recently. The before we just had 5 reps maximum for each. You could have how many temples you had in your organization. You get for every 20 temples, one delegate at the annual congress. And then some other group came in and said no, this should not be. Why should we limit? Because I guess they had 150 temples. It was one of the biggest, bigger groups, didn't want to be limited. But for us it was great because we have fire Temple. So I don't know we wouldn't get that many delegates to come in the fanbul anyway. We're working on things like that, but it's very cautious because the point is, on one hand I want to see the unity. At the same time I have to always look out for ISKCON's interest. Because the problem is that no other Gauriamat has ever to my knowledge invited ISKCON gurus or ISKCON preachers into their institutions to preach. And if people wanted to, they could just initiation for ISKCON Guru Sahib. That kind of open door policy they never had for iskcon. But sometimes some of them, some say why does ISKCON have an open door policy? But whenever we've opened the door then they're taking advantage of our righteous. We have a standard like people should the crane of the Hyvai. For the There should be a period of training, a testing period. Someone aspires for a guru, take shelter for a period of time. The guru disciple tests the guru, the guru test the disciple. Nothing very heavy testing. We just like have time. Is the test devoted some relationship. Then after that they can take initiation. This is a tradition which is always followed with something in the Haribhai fellow. But some groups, they just give immediate initiation even if you don't chant any rounds or if you chant one round or four rounds. And then they don't even consider that initiation to really be an initiation. That's kind of like for them a preliminary initiation. So you get it really cheap. But for us it's a major commitment. So we're facing this kind of cultural. But down the road will probably ISKCON has passed a resolution that if another organization wants to, they can have a bilateral agreement. If they give a recipe, whatever they reciprocate, give to iskcon then we can reciprocate and give to him. But so far Malaysia Goldian lapis. But we'll see. Let's take a step by step. But some of the smaller Gaudiya mats have actually two this year have applied to join Iskanda. One has already got a joint management that's in a place called let's birthplace. Some of that smaller Gauri mats like that, they're not sustainable on their own. And because iskcon all the other Gauri mats have a system of either one guru or gauriamat. So then a tradition, somebody who's a good preacher, he feels stifled. He goes off and creates a new gauria mat and becomes his own guru of his own Gaudiyam arts which was really Amobharti. Siddhan Taka wanted the Prabhupada. They wanted to do what Shahrus Guru wanted, which was that we had one umbrella society. All the people qualify and they should initiate, but there should be kind of a standard established for that. So because we have that kind of a system, so we can absorb other. Maybe one guru has two, three temples and he can be part of ISKCON and still be a guru. And still. So this kind of. Sure. This kind of really gets its. You know, we're still seeing weird. Primarily talk about the same problems, but if we get our own act, you know, very well organized and systematic, sure it'll be more attractive for other people to just merge into ISKCON and be part of iskcon. But if that doesn't happen, at least we'll have a bilateral agreement with some other organizations in the future. Some of the smaller ones, they are joining us. Yes. My Yuri Saki dancing. My dear spiritual daughter, when I went all the way to Chile to see. And she was here, but she was in India with us this year. You and Emma Safari. Yes. I read something in Internet, one of your tours that spoke something about that you had done a ceremony for Mother Duluth and within this ceremony possess something that it gave the beginning of the Satya Yuga. Something I read in Malaysia. In Malaysia, yes. In the month of Baishaka, which is the first month of the traditional day here, that's our holy month. There's many glories like a month of Dalmadar. Anything you do in that month, you get 100 times the benefit. What's the temple of the glories? They don't bother about these things because they're doing all the months every full anyway, so they get full credit all year long. But if you're just struggling out in the material world and you want to get a boost these months, if you have 100%, a 99% sale and you are tight on your budget, if you weren't like a multimillionaire that goes to Harrods and all these big places in the airport that sell things at twice the price, then a 99% sale would be quite attractive. You could buy a. What's your favorite car over here? Mercedes. Volvo. Mercedes. So if it was a €50,000 car, you could buy it for €500. Would that be attractive? Yes, 500 times 100. So 100% time is like a 99% discount. So it's a good deal, a good time to chat more around good time. So in that holy month, there's one day which is called Akshay Triti. It means that that's the anniversary when the Satya Yuga begins. In that particular Titi, there's a thousand satya yugas in every day of Brahman. Then all this begins in that particular titi. Any service you do that, any charity you give, anything that auspicious should do, the benefit from that doesn't gets destroyed to the end of the universe, like bonus you're gonna get as long as you're in the material world. I don't really understand 100% how it works, but it says like that. But anything you do on that day, it's like a super benefit doesn't get destroyed. I don't know how it works exactly. Sounds good. Sounds like everybody in that day, they always like to start auspicious things because it needs benefits. So in Malaysia it's a Muslim majority country, but it's only 55% Muslims and maybe 30% are Chinese and maybe what's left, 10, 15% are Indians. So it's very hard though to get a permission to build a temple, a purpose built temple. So usually what happens, people buy shop, houses, house like this, that kind of informal temple. But to actually have a temple where you can build it because it has to be so many hundred meters away from the nearest mosque and there's all so many different regulations to actually fulfill all those things, it's like almost impossible. But somehow in Malaysia there's like 13 states and 13 or 12, something like 13 maybe or 12, I may have enough anyway amongst all those things, nine I have sultans in charge who are Islamic rulers. But they're like constitutional heads like the kings. They have some ceremonial function, but they do. Those states tend to be a little more Islamic oriented. But there's a couple of states in two or four states which, which don't have sultans, they have governors. And the second largest city in Malaysia is basically Penang. It's an island. Most of it's an island. The state has got a little bit on the mainland and there's an island called the Pearl of Orient. It's an Andaman sea, the island by the Bay of western side of Malaysia. So somehow that in that state government, my disciple who's a Chinese body person, he's working in the development department for the state, he's an engineer or something. So he and other devotees, one of the devotees, the head of a local political party, he got promoted to the state presidency and he was knighted by the king of the country, although he's only like 35. So somehow between everybody they found that there was a five acre area which the state government said this is for all the other religions. So they have a Buddhist temple there. They have another Gurgun temple, they have a Christian church, they have a tradition fair, very small minority. So there are all the different religions. So there was a one and a half acre, like about more than a half a hectare which was available. So somehow we applied and we got there and then they gave us another 300 acres, another 0.3 hectare next to it. But then they said we had to have so many parking spots, there was nothing left to build a temple until I parked it. But then there was, you know, it was like all this modern. They're trying to be more western than the western. So then this happened next to us, the. The government had a little square, a little triangular piece of land. So it wasn't useful for anything. So they decided to make it into a parking lot. So we replaced. Look at. There's a public parking lot right next to our plot. So why do we have to have so many parking spots? We can just get by with 15 people park over there. So they agreed. So then our plan basically got passed. So then they wanted to do the groundbreaking ceremony on the day of Akshay Tritiya. So that in the Vedic, it's called Bhu Braha puja. You do worship to Lord Varah Day because he picked up the earth from the bottoms of the universe. You do puja to Varaha and the prasadam puja you offer to Bhumi. Then you do this, you do the groundbreaking, you dig into the earth and you do a puja by the earth on our feet, where, forgive us, because we're coming into you and we build a temple for Krishna. So there's all the ceremony that we did. We didn't do the foundation stone laying. That's going to be. They want to do many ceremonies because they raised money at a ceremony. So it is groundbreaking. And it was so successful because many people at that time, you could fill up the land 1 meter. It's like a little low land. So people were contributing truckloads of dirt for a very nominal amount, something like 65 ringgit, which is like €20 or something. It's just like everybody could contribute. It was like a very easy. Then you could also build one meter on the wall around. So then so many people. So I gave 10 track loads. Okay, I'll give 10 track loads. And then everybody else is getting 10. I said, well, that's not fair. I don't want to be like, people get bored too. So then I said, I gotta raise mine to 15. And then some people raised theirself to 15. But some man, he got so inspired by the whole ceremony. And then he said, I want to contribute 1 million ringgit, which is like €250,000. It's a quick, significant donation. And he said that that's not the end, that he wants to approach his big business friends and raise up to 1 million. So that was a big boost. They really took up money, made the Zen fight auspicious. So we had a few thousand. I don't know how many thousand devotees were there in the morning ceremony that day, because it was Akshay Tritiya. So then I had a program trying to go and visit each of the temples in the area. So I visited four temples that day, right in about hour each one. It was up till midnight that night, time to visit all the temples before. So it was a fun night. We had our Kabishanda Maharashtra was there. So he would go to one temple and when I arrived and he'd leave that temple and I'd be there. Was like just kind of visit all the temples. And everybody was there for that special day. And together we went to another temple at Ipoh, where they had. It was just a house that they purchased some years ago and had a temple in it, like a temple. I just moved a little bigger room in it. But then what they did is in the front of the house. This is scrap a little. It's like three degrees off, like right there, very warm all year long. You know, nighttime it gets down to 26ml if you're lucky otherwise. So you don't really need walls and things. So they built a very beautiful. Like it was style of Bali or traditional style with the wood columns, tile roof, very beautiful carved wooden columns and things. It's very, very attractive. You know, I saw that in Venusian Bali, that kind of woodwork, you don't see it so much. And Malaysia has become too modernized. But they did a nice. So it's a big hall now. You can hold maybe 400 people to moderate it there. Like they were going right down four days to do four different programs. Recently I was in Sao Paulo and had a special ceremony celebrating my 30.
