Taka Maharaj has been the disciple of Srila Prabhupada for many years and also been a Sannyasi. Is it for 30 years now? Approximately since 1970. 1970. 35 years. Sanyasi. So Maharashtra's been a Sannyasi longer than I have been alive. And Japa Taka Marj spends a lot of time in Mayapur and so he knows a lot of the stories of Lord Caitanya. So I'm sure Maharish will entertain you with some transcendental pastimes. Today I offer obeisances to Srila Prabhupada by whose mercy even the lame man can climb a mountain and the deaf and dumb man can become a great speaker and the blind man can see the stars in the sky. First of all I'd like to ask how you all are. How are you? Who's doing good? Everybody's happy? Everybody having a good time? Yes. You're learning something. Yes. Learning is fun. Yes. Very good. I saw here on the. On the board you have Tsunami because tsunami. Part of my zone is I was that time when tsunami hit. I was in Melbourne for the. For the vaccine day Snaan Yatra. But about 10 days, about two weeks after that I went to Sri Lanka with her endodermous one and we set up the relief operation. We were distributing tsunami. A big wave comes, sweeps everybody away. And we went. Firstly we went to Madras, to Chennai and I was distributing posada. So many children and so many ladies. They all came running when the posadam bus came and they pulled out the prasada and they made like a roll and they're running, they're really eager to get prasad. And so we served out a few thousand plates of prasada. They took me and showed me the area that was hit by the tsunami wave. And all the houses were just broken down. But in the midst of all the houses there was a temple. And the temple wasn't broken. Very unusual. All, both sides, all broken. But temple was burning Krishna's mercy. The people were feeling afraid to sleep by the ocean side again. But what if another wave comes? We call trauma. And they are already frightened from that very horrible experience. This year we had Prabhupada's 108th anniversary in Mayapur. So we had a special festival. Many of Prabhupada's disciples, Prabhupada's spiritual children, just like your children, you have mother and father. So some people are initiated by Prabhupada. So he is their spiritual father. So they came and they shared so many pastimes about Prabhupada. Prabhupada. When he came to Mayapur, he saw the deities. He went up to his room. And then he sat down in his room. And he drank some water from a cup without touching his lips. Can you do that from high? You can drink without touching. Who can do? Mother, show me. He would drink like that. That's how Pram would drink. He said, very good. Mayapur is wonderful. Mayapur is the spiritual world. Living in Mayapur or dying in Mayapur is all the same. So how is it living and dying the same? You are curious, Sri Ashrala Prabhupada. How is it living and dying in Mayapur? Is saying. He says, when you live in Mayapur, you're living in a spiritual world. It's an extension of spiritual world on this planet. And when you die in Mayapur, if you leave your body, then the atma you the self goes back to the spiritual world. So living and dying is the same. Did you understand? Yeah. One Prabhupada was staying there. He asked to have hot milk. Do you guys like hot milk? Little sugar? Yes. Without sugar. Anyway you like hot milk. Who likes hot milk? The Prabhupada. He liked his hot milk very hot. So they brought him the hot milk. It was only warm. So he said, this hot milk is not hot enough. I said, well Prabhupada, how hot do you want it? He said, I want it as hot as possible. So then they went and they heated the milk. This time they brought the milk, but it was so hot. It was like boiling hot. So when Prabhupada touched the glass, burnt his hand says, too hot. This is the Prabhupada. You said you wanted the milk as hot as possible. So they thought what we gave this is as hot as possible. Boiling milk. Can you drink boiling milk? Yes, the Prabhupada he said. I said, hard as possible. Not impossible. Not impossible to drink. Hard as possible means what? Possible to drink. So like the Prabhupada was always instructing his disciples. Sometime philosophy, sometime very practical. Just like your teachers. They're Prabhupada? Yes. Your parents. They're probably giving you different kind of education. Some is academic and some is practical. And this year we went under as. Let's explain. We go another deep Parikrama. You know how many islands Nava deep heads? Seven. Nine. No, nine. Nine. Naba means nine. Nava Dweep. Nine islands. How many practices of devotional service are there? Anybody knows? You don't know. Nine. Yes, nine. Good guess. So each one of the nine islands is connected to one of the nine processes of devotional service. And one of the islands is called Go Dru. Go means what? Like we say. Govinda Gopala. What does Go mean? Cow land. Especially cow. So Go Druma means tree. So it's a place of forest and cows. You know which cow lives in Godrum? A Surabhi cow. Yeah. Who said Surabhi cow? Me. What's your name? Abhishek. Abhishek, just give him a big hand. And what's your name there? Shyam Chandra. Shyam Chandra. Let's give him a big hand. Now. In this Go Drum dream, there's two very interesting pastimes that happen. One is that when Lord Chaitanya was going to school. Just like you're going to school. When Lord Chaitanya also went to school. He was also a little boy just like you. Maybe not just like you, but he was a child. He went to school. His childhood friend was Jagadananda. So one day as they were coming from school and they're going to go to their house. That time they saw a parrot. You know what a parrot is? It's a bird. Parrot is a bird. It's a bird that can talk. Talking bird? Yes. Walk. Walk. Hello. Hello. So this parrot. He was a very special parrot from Vrindavan. He was not different from Sukadev or Swami like that. That's what Lord Chaitanya thought he saw. The parents said, you are like Sukadev. The Sukkah also means parrot. You have a Sukadev. Who's Sukhkadev? Wow. He's. Remember. So Sukha Deva. I mean, because like a parent. If a parent eats a mango a little bit, the mango becomes sweeter. So they say that Sukha Deva, because he spoke the Bhagavatam, it became more sweet. So this parrot that somehow his name is Sukkah. So Lord Chaitanya asked the parrot that. Please tell me like Sukkah did. Goswami spoke Bhagwatam. You tell me the glories of Radha and Krishna. I want to hear the glories of Radha and Krishna. Who wants to hear the glorious and Radha and Krishna? This is what Lord Chaitanya has. So then the parrot, he started to dance and he started to chant. Gora. Gora. You also play parrot. Everyone play parrot. Lord Gauranga, he said, no. What are you doing? I don't want to hear this. I want to hear Radha and Krishna. Why you're not Telling me Radha and Krishna sing the glories of Radha and Krishna. But again the parrot began to chant. You're very impatient. No, no. Because you see, Lord Chaitanya is Krishna. But he's in the mood of devotee. He don't like to hear himself glorified. He said, I want to hear Radhakrishna. Why you are saying Gora? Gora. This is Vrindavan. This forest here is like Vrindavan, Mayapur forest and Vrindavan forest. Not different. So you tell me the pastime of Radha and Krishna. But that parents spoke. You see, in Vrindavan there's Radha and Krishna. But Radha and Krishna have combined together. This is not different from Vrindavan. But here Radha and Krishna are together in the form of Gora. So if you want to chant Radha and Krishna as Radha and Krishna, you chant. But for me, I want to chant Radha and Krishna in their combined form. As Lord Chaitanu covered his ear and ran away. He was very happy. But Jagarananda, his friend loaded all this. He was very happy. Are you happy? No. Who said no? Why? You're not heavy. So anyway, you had to go home now, right? I brought. I brought you some gifts. How many like gifts? We brought you a sweet prasada machine oil. We have a. This is oil that Narasimha Dev was bathed by on his birthday. The day he came to save the little boy. PR lot. That day anniversary. The 14th day of the lunar cycle. We got enough for everybody. We base our bark with special medicinal oils like sandalwood, camphor, saffron, coos, Agaru. I don't remember all of them. And also some other special essential oil from lotus, rose and jasmine. So that's babe over the Lord. And he gets that from his lotus feet. And that's his oil. So I have a little oil. Give me your right hand and I'll put. Put the oil on your hand Then we have a factory in South America where they make these special bars for children. Especially all the children in South America. They buy these in the supermarket. Tens of thousands of these are sold every day to put in the lunchbox. So to this today we brought you all the way in New Zealand. And we got through the New Zealand customs. Okay. In this verse, the description of the Mahatma is clearly given. The first claim of the Mahatma is that he is already situated in the divine nature. He is not under the control of material nature. And how is this affected? That is explained in the seventh chapter. One who surrenders unto the supreme personality of Radha and Sri Ka at once becomes freed from the control of material nature. That is the qualification. One can become free from the control of material nature as soon as he surrenders his soul to the supreme personality of Godhead. Then is the preliminary formula being marginal forms. He as soon as the living entity is freed from the control of mature nature, he is put under the guidance of the spiritual nature. The guidance of the spiritual nature is caused by deeper feelings. Divine nature. So when one is remote in that brain by surrendering to the supreme personality of God one thing to the state of the great soul. Mahatma does not divert his attention to anything outside Krishna. Because he knows perfectly well that Krishna is the original supreme, the cause of all causes. There is no doubt about such a Mahatma. Our great soul develops through association with other Mahatmas of pure devotees. Pure devotees are not even attracted by Krishna's other features such as the forehand and Mahavishnu. They are simply attracted by the two armed form of Krishna. They are not attracted to Other features of Krishna. Nor are they concerned with any form of a living God or of a human being. They meditate only upon Ka and Ka consciousness. They are always engaged in the unswerving service of the Lord in Ka consciousness. It the great souls here. Prophet he didn't like to understand politicians. Sometimes they call some great politicians in the US Companions. Politician is a Mahatma is a lot of those who accept the supreme personality of God. And they worship and they engage in devotional service to the supreme personality guided Krishna. That's the definition of the Mahatma. The Bhagavad Gita Mahatma. Mahavi is great and I want to be soul. So Mahatma is graceful. There's money devotees to different devas and to different forms of the Lord's energy. But these are not considered the Vid Mahatma. Many pious personalities may have many qualities. But to be considered really a great soul. Someone's no longer deluded about who's who. They fully engaged in the devotional service to the Lord. I was talking with one family and they were saying that all the lake they were worshipping, all the devas was already attached to them. So they presented very famous mind swing another red attack. They like anybody they didn't want. They wanted to continue to show their affection. And I explained that that's okay. We also respect all of the devas and even that Krishna Convex Devas are individuals who are responsible for managing the materialism for the supreme Lord. We also worship them. But we worship them as what is the relationship to Krishna? Everybody the first thing in spiritual life is every day in the present and personal relationships. Who you are, how you relate with the supreme. The audience is if somebody thinks that all the devas are equal to Krishnas or independent of Krishna or somehow they're all independent lords, Gods family. She wants more gear too much less. So when people have set up their altars, we have to establish that as Krishnas they are then come from Krishna Kambhal. Then comes the Narayana, forms the Mahavishnu, Vishnu Yirodaksha form Super soul with the original format Krishna. So then accordingly he put Krishna at the top of the altar, put him in the templates, offering him the worship first. Then you offer respect to the other. There's no harm offering respect. But the respect should be offered in accordance to their relationship. Six of every evening Lord Shiva Vrindavana takes the form of a Gopi and goes to guard the Rasthila. So if you want to be on the Rasthila, you have to get the blessing of Shiva. As Gopeshwar. So to get free from various obstacles to worship Krishna other devotees are going worshipping Gopeshwar Shiva. Shiva is a Gopiyatra. But then Krishna realizes only one male in the Rathyatra and that's Krishna Aranasa has to be Robin. So then Shiva wanted to come and then he could become a Gopi. For that he got transformed into a Gopi sister singing around Salisbury. He was given the job of being a gatekeeper. Any unwelcome evidence would not come. So then with the Gobis they had to worship the Gobi is worship Pattayami form of Durga in order to be Krishna as their husband. For the right things one can worship the demons. One should be for the right thing and the right understanding of relationships. Ultimately Krishna is giving, but he gets through. If it seems like somebody has a mixed royalty things that true supreme wise. That's the problem of spiritual life. It's a big obstacle. This Muhammad, the one supreme work, the original is inexhaustible. Don't have that confusion anymore. So you want in all the holies to become Mahatmas. I was thinking that today is Christmas Eve. So the prophet once mentioned that Jesus was also a Vaishnav very that he was Shakar. He was preaching lava Godhead. And Prabhupada mentioned how he as a preacher he sacrificed, he was a martyr in order to deliver so many people. We don't know of course exactly what his original teachings are anymore. Some controversy over the editing of the Bible. But some are saying that he said only except those whom he would follow him. Whereas in the case of Lord Chaitanya I hate to say to everybody Baasur Devanta, pray for deliverance of everybody, take all their sins. He could be crucified, he could be put in hell. He could do whatever it was. He could take everybody's sins, let him suffer and everybody else get delivered. Not only by people who are surrendering to Krishna or trying to surrender, but adequately. And what you're telling us that why will you suffer like that just because of your desire Everyone will be delivered. In this universe what is one universe very intimidating. And spec is said to be 100, 1400 millions tens of millions of universes set one. It's anti value goes back to man. We're going now Christian preaching in India we do in Chennai at the Madras gym. We do in five different jails in Tamil Nadu. Also doing what's it called? FE High Jail in Delhi. A big one. It's got thousands and thousands and Tens of thousands of presidents. So we do regular programs in that jail also in life now different parts of the so I personally went to the geological creeps they don't have to go there otherwise we had almost 100 people coming. But the wardens didn't want to let them dance. They start dancing on tomorrow and afterwards many of them came to me. Most of them said no, they were innocent. They're hoping to get. They're on the trial so they're hoping that they get blessing them to be released. One said he was multimillionaire but he was there with some text but it was remarkable that many of them were mentioning One resident sincerely said that I'm actually in many ways ungrateful that I found that jail because I got Krishna here. If I wasn't here I would have said I probably wouldn't. You know this my circle when I'm doing a work in Krishna but somehow here I got Krishna and chanting reading the Bible which is quite one person. He was life sentenced assassin and he was chanting 16 rounds during the Bible. So we're all in this prison house the material world and great souls they come down and they try to help us to get out of this material world. When you're in prison you get some special realization that you are complaint and when you're out of the prison you might think that you're free. The whole world is there for you to enjoy. But this is just a bigger prison prisons within prison. So the real point is that we're supposed to get out of this prison by being ka conscious. So anyway Astra Dev God he was praying for liberating everybody from this material prison and send them all back to Gandhi. Krishna said he can do it. So the Lord comes down into this prison house delivers this one's out. So they do prison preaching and have the experience worrying teaching of the prisoners but not being this one come out grace and was but interesting. So the great souls there are certain under the divine protection. Sometimes reaching is a thankless test the different Muhammad sometimes when they were present they didn't get that support Jesus was present and they say that the Roman emperor gave a choice. You could have the barbarous who was a criminal or Jesus free and the people voted for Marva and crucified Jesus some kind of politics I'm preaching It's sometimes a difficult situation try to help people but then when they're not preaching put the Stiglers tummy together have a tough day to make for New Year's versus Christmas Eve more people Are under the influence of intoxication. But I have this one oriental from Guyana who migrated to Canada. Just like many people migrated to a different place. Here in Guyana is in the South America but in the Caribbean area. So there's expense of land and they grow a lot of sugar cane and tropical things, mangoes. Most of the people there are from Bihar, originally from India. Two from Tam different places who migrated there under the British rule like Malaysia then. But it's Guyana is really four places. So many of the people migrated to America and to Canada. So this, this person had migrated to Canada. He was a master roaming. He was getting $40 an hour from roaming. So then in the weekend he was trying to the public. He was really intoxicated. He met one devotee who was distributing books, offered him to buy my Dina. And then he went to some other pub and a few more was the winter time, Christmas time. This time maybe, I don't know, was in the winter. So everyone realize it's cold down here. I mean in December here it's summer and there it's winter, there it's like freezing cold minus 20 minutes. So when he came out from that, just for arrangement of Krishna, the same devotee was there distributed. I'm just begging you, very humble, Take this paramagura. Just give you whatever you want, vegan, Vanda, whatever you want, just be happy. But take it. I think you're a nice guy, I want you to have this barbecue. So he thought here I am an immigrant in this country and here my Canadian is begging me. I reached the top. This must be a symptom of my success. They gave him $10, put it in his briefcase, went home. Then he later on found the Gita and his must have been the month of January or February. Because when we opened up just briefcase. When he started reading all God's Bhagavad Gila then it was like a big awakening from him and he got very inspired. Then he desired to to go to the temple in the back. He went to the Toronto temple and it just happened. It was Lityananda's appearance day. And you know, for that day astonishing people there. Who's Kirkan? So he joined in the Kirkhan damn thing helped serve asylum. He was disciple. He memorized Bhagavad Gita. He would preach to the good guy in his mandates who mainly Blood. So I do the amazing things to grow up as making Mahabas. He was somebody that was wasting their life working. Although he had a background but being alone from the family. You know, a country where people bring more money. He got into the situation. But then he completed by little association he got awakened. So the book distribution also. However one book saved something. You never know. One book can make such a big difference. I think it's so important. My point now the goal is to distribute 108,000 by 1 million for power one way. There's a heavy competition and Mao Ng had already distributed 32,000 so far this year. I received about 225 miles in the last month. Very exciting. But how the one book made such a change in his first. And this person had so many family members, his friends, many other Guyanese. But he was a very very active preacher. Now he's moved to Orlando and is still preach. So we're out to make mahatmas. And normally it's not so easy to make Mahmoud. Some Mahadmas come down from the spiritual world. One got up and was following behind Lord Chaitan. Some of the followers wanted to stop him. You know, being a fancy he didn't make just kept walking. And after all John mimicking you should we have stopped him or something? Without offense. I'm just thinking under the influence of alcohol and that will wear off day to marrow. But he was chanting Hare Krishna. And the benefit of that will stay with me forever. Like that. Every Mahakido I was told my friend died. He was working as a some kind of accountant in firm or many homes. One of his work colleagues picked up a book from somebody in the street. George Harris and Chandi having. So I gave that to. He said George Aaron. I think I like George Harrison. But he said his friend wasn't like a devotee or anything interesting girls whatever. But he was. So I got the book, gave it to him and when he got the book he got very inspired and went to see the temple. Just happened to be Rathyatra in New York and Rome. I was there. She actually saw the bunch of central third. So. So some he got delivered by second. What's it called third party book distribution Hastan book. Somebody got the book and I don't remember one one disciple when his uncle purchased a book in My uncle or something like came home, had the book in the living room. Then the nephew went to visit the house. All the nephews. It's like time. You never know. It's not new. One Bangalore one life member Told how he got the light members got a whole set of the books they were on his shelf and for three years he did read the books this gave his foundation every time it's a good cause Sometimes I go visit some temple like it's a wife member and stay at a guest college or something whatever the mornings are something that inspired him to give after two years one day for some reason I wanted to book all about anyway started reading the bhai and he literature and when the Brahmin went down he was the Brahmin by birds and he was everyday birthday who says never knew who was supreme when he read the propos book he said it's so clear Krishna supreme and his name was also Krishna but you never knew that Krishna was supreme and that was very clear. So g his whole family chanted it took three years. It's all sitting there all this wisdom the prophetess were not bewildered. Mahatmas are not bewildered. Most people are bewildered. Remember I asked some student what's the purpose of life graduated in a job what's the purpose of the whole thing? I didn't think about that too much. I gotta pass my finals, I gotta get a job and so many other things I'm worried about but where they're actually headed or they're doing the whole thing for literally I'm introduced to Indians but this is a type of Indian who love to speak of western speaking life have a good time I don't know put strad society Some people making a lot of money for the purpose are to make more money, you know, more buildings buy bigger guys have a better pen pal nice bigger parties when they get somebody said they have a party that spent $500 ahead for the catering from their tell you what to eat like the people that don't know how to do it and mama I just reading this morning one lady after 17 years Unfaithful association and camp died and she called her camp for $50,000 maybe 65 or more more positive now she's got little kiddies same exact pimples and birth marks habits very happy. Whether they don't know that by being so much attached to the problem of soldiers. The cats are interesting actually if you want to have children, you have a cat in the house. The cats can see whether the lady mother is pregnant. They have like some subtle vision. They can see ghosts and things just like when the cat runs across your path. It's considered bad luck as they chase ghosts. Doesn't mean the cat's not the bad luck it's the ghost. Just of course people say I there are ghosts. Such things exist right now. So maybe then I can see. That's what people say anyway. They're supposed to see the baby. You know that when the baby is born the baby's going to get all the attention, all the cuddling and petting and everything that I get won't get than once. So that if the cat curses the mother, they have a miscarriage. So if you have a cat and you have miscarriage, you want to have a baby, get rid of your cat, send the cat away. The point is people want to get so tasted. I don't like that spend so much money than when they die, they become a cannon next time. They spend all their heart and energy giving so much attraction to their family members. Who better step up? But then still just people exploiting one family pretend to care one family and they exploit another family. And that also makes them very much conditioned. So Prabhupada was encouraging them to be brihastas, householders who have a spiritual purpose of their life. There's two types of brihasta households. The piha matings and bihas. The yeah, maybe just based on personal and extended Sanskritification. Everybody should be essentially happy. And the grihastas everybody should be essentially Krishna conscious and sensual. Attractive breath say that everybody is liberated. They all work together. Krishna is in the center. Our sense gratifications in the center. The green of Medhi's nature is to be envious over every other and want to deliver the other rehas with other conditional household. I just went to a new country in the Middle east for the first time where there's some devotees who are working here, some people who are working here, one or two devotees. And because we requested them when they went there that they should start house programs. And it's very much restricted. Although you're allowed in that country to do a program in your house. But if you disturb the neighbors then you get deported. You're risking your whole island on the things and chances so. But still I took the list and they were preaching there for a while. And they were for a year I went there and there was about 50 people chanting on Krishna. 20 people took six levels. So whether it be Hasta actually trying to help other people to be Krishna conscious. Mahatma way to become Mahatma is by acting like this to try to help other people to be Krishna to take that sacrifice. I would tell people to be very careful, don't take answer but try to be around Krishna. So really grateful to see how Krishna mercy is spreading. And also this time I went here. I went to Thailand for the first time in Huawei for a few years. All this is my zone. But I was not in my very much. But recently more regularly the convention there is a couple of disciples there who came from and study in the entire university. And quite a number of people I just was there for in transit for less than 24 hours. And about 30 people came to see me looking up. So like this I try and encourage everybody. Before that there is one Mahatma, one great soul. And they would empower others to preach. Prabhupada is the great Mahatma that came brought Krishna kind of destroyed him. But he didn't want to keep it to himself. He wanted at least to also be the preachers of the Mahatmas. Spread Krishna consciousness, take care of multilevel deities and other deities. Just like Prahlad was reaching to his school. Ahmad fully engaged in devotional service. They know me as this famous original and exhaustful. So we're teaching people how to be fully engaged in devotional servant Halloween there in Master life, spirit life, renounce life, whatever Ashram and how to live their lives in such a way that everything is engaged in Krishna's earth. Thank all the Muhammad here and the servants of the Mahatma. Any questions, any other experiences you have of some reaching nectar. We positively attach everything in Krishna. It's very hard to detach. Detach is like an unnatural attaching is easier. So what we watch attaching whatever your dream material, attach it to Krishna, do it for Krishna. And then if you start doing more everything for Krishna. Those things that you can't do for Krishna is those things you want to dance from. But more or less 80, 90% everything you can do for Krishna. Only thing you can do is get drowned for Krishna. Chant har Krishna many more Krishna service. But even then you're allowed. But if someone doesn't have so much income but they take a hand in a big house and they're working double shifts, double triple jobs. At a certain point it becomes what they call uber karma. Which is like over endeavor. You don't need that. You have to see what your needs are. And then within that what you actually need. Krishna does the banana.
