2005 || Morning Bhāgavatam Class & QA Session #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

Jaya Pataka Swami teaches from the Bhāgavatam on Krishna's relationship with his devotees, contrasting Christian theology with Vaishnava views. He retells stories of Rukmini and Narada to show reciprocal love, and explains Krishna's promise to return as the devotee Chaitanya.
The new equality with the equal. Because they're both the same kind of. But they're not exactly the same. Father is still first before the Son. This is very interesting because today in modern Christianity, many times they say that Jesus is God. I don't know, there is some kind of impersonalism. Jesus is like the Son. He says I am like unto the Father, Son is like the Father. Who are you with Him? Any son or daughter is like their father or mother. So he's like his father. But he never said I am the Father. But when you say he's God, God is the Father, Jesus is God. I'm just trying to say he's the Father. There must be some kind of rest of us some speculation that's entered into their horology. And there are some words that I am the Word, since the Word is God. So I don't want. He is a spiritual master. And spiritual master represents the scriptures. The scriptures are not different from Krishna, but that doesn't mean he is the Father. And these are personified teachings of the prophets of the. It's interesting here Proverbs up so clearly. It completely goes against this passage of concept. They have the sons and the fathers are qualitative equal. But the Father is never the Son, nor is the Son ever. The Father only gives. What's interesting also is that the Father is. It's not a big deal that one should be the Father because we can only be what we are. But being God, I mean he is God, we can't imagine what it's like. He knows everything, so there's no surprises for him. But being a devotee of the Lord, that also has its advantages. The Lord was explaining that we are the server God and He is the serve God. There are all different aspects of God, but ultimately everything is God in the sense that everything is an expansion energy of the Lord where He is the original personality of God and we are the servants of Him. So we are the discernment parts and parcels both parts of object, part of the whole absolute truth, part of the whole God reality. Our function is to serve the Lord. When we serve the Lord, we get fully happy if he's in a little bit of place from bedside and gives us a little bit of mercy. Perhaps it's like a tsunami with this in Sri Lanka and Chennai and Tamil Nadu. You think that people there are help came from Europe, America, in different places. And so a little wave of the ocean when it gets to the shore. We found some gigantic tunnel waves around sex up on the water. From the shore comes in. I was talking to some of the ladies who were feeling sad. They're still really traumatic. They're really freaked out because they can't sleep. They don't have a house anymore, but they sleep at away from the beach. They do this temporary office on the beach. And they were afraid to sleep there because it was so traumatic. All of a sudden to wake up and find yourself in a strange world. Do not feel secure anymore to be right next to worship. Before it was a common things take a while to take over the trauma. But Krishna is a little bit pleased with us. Perhaps it becomes like a surrounding devotion, but it becomes like a huge wave of ecstasy. In this way, the devotees of the Lord he returned a day of more happiness. The Lord, this being the Lord, it's pretty hard to make an impression on him. He has pleased you so he is always pleased. It's very his nature. Only Ravi Rani makes super great impression. He gets pleased with the other services of the glories. But the devotees, when they serve the Lord, they actually get so happy. And this seeing the Lord is happy, which makes the Lord happy. And he wants to serve the devotees. And then when the devotees are happier, when the glorious and the Lord's happy, they are happier. And when they get happier, the Lord gets happier. This keeps on increasing. But somehow when I think Krishna sees that the devotees seem to be happier than he is. So he wanted to figure out why is he that the devotees. What is it that they're experiencing? It's one of the devotees with many. This was the pastime mentioned in the Chaitanya Mando. Krishna went from Satyavaba, went from Satya Baba's palace to Rukmini's palace. Rukmini, when she found that Krishna was going to come to the God, she got it all prepared, everything clean. Brought kirtan Bharati, brought Brahmanas Chandantras, brought music bands. Decorated the door with sugar cane spots and cool water pots. In ancient Vedic culture, we want to have a decoration to welcome someone makes a thing so auspicious with full water pots and the full banana trees with the fruits hanging and sugar canes, dogs and whole grains, sprouts, sprouted greens, things like that, sort of natural things. Things with cells versus natural. They might hear the Master tending for all kinds of aluminum tinsels and all kinds of the decorations you make to show some kind of auspicious occasion like Christmas or So it's all like plastic, aluminum. We have a party, same kind of stuff. They probably inspired. But the Vedic tradition is equipped like leaves from mango tree ampata. And they also put the leaves from coconut South India. They make coconut tree leaves for the plagues in their mouth with all natural things. So the Duka Manishi decorated their house with all these natural things. No tinsel. It was very beautiful. When Krishna came quite shells music, mantras. When someone very special comes. He had a kid friend. I was embarrassed. I couldn't reciprocate. I say Krishna, he's perfectly able to reciprocate. Smiles for everybody. He touches the elder's feet and he hugs the embraces his equals, the blessings his juniors. He smiles at everybody just appropriately. And he does everything perfect. We need to see. I believe that reception in the first canto coming to Dwaraka. It shows how Krishnas are expert to reciprocate the miracle. Let me thank you as a very humble representative of Srila Prabhupada for your wonderful reception. Right. And apologize for being right. So Krishna he was already happy by home with like a formal reception at the gateway. First and came in. We really sent the kids forward. Since in Vedic culture imagine why wouldn't Khand Ancient times even this was still because of her own pork, her own palace. But first she just said the children again they came and hugged their father. Gave him garlands and things. Then she took her in her inner quarters and together her research, her pride and reception. This is sort of problem. And she bathed the feet of Vishnu. She had the water and she bathed the feet. Incentive water. Rose water with the waters. And she took Krishna's mother's feet and held that over her heart. She's looking at Krishna and she's so happy. At the same time she's crying. So Krishna is like kind of uneasy. Like you seem happy, but you're crying at the same time. Why are you crying right now? It's like the time for tears. And then I said, well, what's wrong? Something wrong? I mean, it's like kids were not listening to you this morning. Disobedient. The servant had to lie to him instead of expecting him by your pride. And he's reliable. She said, you don't know. You know everything. You know, my brother is doing Satya Loka. You know what? Shiva is doing it very much. Listen, you don't know what your devotee feels for you in our hearts. Is this the one thing you don't know? You know right around each of those save him. Sure. I mean, he was mentally busted. He was pretty hyper classification. So that's what non. Tell me. Tell Me. What's wrong? Why are you praying? You came every dawn. You captured everybody's heart like that. You're coming here. You're capturing our heart. If you cry, you will never take your time. But you not help but thinking that call. Remember that although you come with me now giving us your mercy. Soon the nature is yours and we love somewhere else. No, no. I don't believe you. I do think like that. She picked her up. Wipe the tears off. Just a simple reception breaks down crying. That is what Rukmini is special. Because normally in union you just feel happiness. And I felt so happy to see. When I was the president in Bangchong, we only had this little jugular. I used to be the one point of the president. The chief cook. Ed Pujari and secretary answer to all the people. I went to Vancouver and I had four. The temple that was by the side of the park Montreal bowling alley floor. And so I would cook. We would get all kinds of bowl donated by the wholesale fruits terminants. They have outside the city of wholesale fruit crates where all the fruit gums and lay trucks from America. We would go there and they would fill up. They would give us okay. They have for food relief and for the temple. They give okay, take a. Take a box apples, strawberries to the hundreds of these merchants and ignore them and box. We filled up a whole little truck. We were very poor in those days. I don't know how we doing. But we didn't have congregation, we didn't have books. So we were. We didn't have so many. We didn't have many sources of income. So our main source of income was the Sunday feast. And we had all this boga. So I cooked the 26 preparation feasts on Sunday morning. We'd have six chutneys fruit chutneys. Because we had so many fruit stories. Fruit chutney, fruit hala fiber pans of ola, blueberry hala, apple hallah, cherry hala. Whatever it was. Did not so many preparations. I do shot me an omelet. I didn't put out a big pies, but some cheese. I could be. And the angel was huge. Was a huge feast. And it became very famous. All the college students from Miguel. That's right next to Miguel and all kinds of Indian community became. We get 2, 300 people for a Sunday feast. They were all contributing $2 donation in those days. Wrong. Annually. But that was $400, $500. You would get most of the programs donated with that. They would maintain the rent. But when I prepared this offering. I ran into the shower, came back out because I was also in there. And I take this big tray after some of the tray of other bodies and walk down the wall of the building. I walk down the wall only to bring that offering to jargon. That was one of the most happiest moments of my life. It was like a non stop 6 hour yike doing all that good thing. When I brought that offering. Honestly braces and chaganna still like that. When Krishna when he met she was really happy. But she was so special. She was also feeling separation. Have to leave. He'll leave me and miss him again so very. She was very special. Very. Meanwhile, while this is happening there are no places. And he's the Guru of Kaarka because that's his role. So Krishna say believe him get pretty intense here. Life's great. So came out of this area. He plays like this place to death. What really goes on. But he came and Naru came. And so Kishorette gave him gourdon had a special seat there. Now they made his feet together. But they saw the pylon was agitated. He said like what a day. You know my guru is always peaceful. He's always dear. And today the guru is upset my wife, I know at reception she's crying like what a day. What kind of thing is it? I got it's my Lord that he made for Krishna. So he asked anatomy always useful in honest control. Why are you disturbed today? I never seem to disturb. Never. You're a liberated soul. How do you do this term? And he said well, I'm going around the world and I see the symptoms of coming into coming. I see that people are materialistic. They used to be simply attracted to you. Now they're becoming more attractive with such and because of their connection to the sensor application. I'm ready. I can understand that you're about to meat. It's like when the sun is about to set. The same heat doesn't come a good day. Even though midday is warm here. Super warm. I guess there's one degree plus. But anyway it gets more of a good day. But at the end of the day it gets cool again. In India they did day in 40. This is also winter for India. In my own world, midday 25, 27 at this season and at nighttime we're down to a very crow of 1715, something like that. But in Delhi daytime was five in a day and the night was one. I cooled for Delhi. So Narad was using this example that the sound and setting so therefore the light is still there, but the influence is reduced. So you are still here, but you're just about to go. That's why your influence is reducing and people become more materialistic. When you fully leave, what's going to happen when you leave? They tell you they'll begin. What's going to happen? I'm very worried. How are these people going to get delivered? How the people immigrated to get your mercy. Neither only are so compassionate. And Allah is a liberated soul. He feels his compassion to the condition of souls and how they can lead the truth. So that's why I'm concerned. That's why I'm disturbed. Because I see that you're about to leave. And I don't see the hope when the conditions fall. So tell me how I can get your mercy. So then Krishna, he said that today was a very special day for me. Today morning when he was telling them that I don't know why my devotee is healed for me. And my guru is very disturbed. And he is once on how the traditional souls of Kali Yoga are great. Give them mercy. So I promise you I'll come back and tell you. But not as a Lord. I'll come back as the devotee in order to and I will deliver the conditioned souls. I'll give them the Harimala Sankirtan process to achieve bhakti. And as a devotee I will experience what it is that my devotee feels good. During this moment. Being a devotion. The Lord everything is constantly thinking. I don't know what it's like when the body fills me. I'll become a devotee. Experience what Chitanya experience. Amazing, indescribable. Laughing in ecstasy, crying in ecstasy, Rolling in the ground in ecstasy. Madness and separation of Krishna Mahabhara. Just like Ran Rani would experience Mahabhara, he was experiencing Lord Chaitanya. Because he's more important as devotee. He has a more intimate relationship with the devotee. He can relate with the devotees very well. Devotee pure love. Krishna is different kind of worship. Krishna server and servant. Server. Interesting. I was thinking like that Father. Father can be devoted to. He's a different root. Krishna Chaitanya would sometimes flick back into his Ishwara just for a few moments in some narrative. Then the emphasis that he was the Lord in the way of Krishna. When he was in the holy mood which was most of the night. Then you couldn't worship him. You wouldn't accept the worship as God worship as well. Now we're just reading the second canta which is the power of the second. The Lord is feet of the Lord. The first and second. Second candles lowest feet, third can toes like the knee, the fourth, fifth can forget. Exactly. The works are ones. The waist and you have the sixth, seventh, the chest, seventh, eighth go up. Ninth is the neck, tenth is the face. Something like that. I may have one of them. The 11, 12 again back to the Lord's face. It's like no scratching it. So now we understand the greatness of the Lord. How he is so great. He creates how he creates the universe. The universes and how he creates them and activates them. The thing that creates this whole animation. Everything runs under the control of the different higher entities under laws of karma. Because I remember, I mean there are people really upset in the surrounding sites. Some people told me not about one person. Where was God? James? But there's no God or even just telling people why does God let these things happen? Hundreds of thousands of people die. Of course he doesn't want it. He doesn't want people to eat meat either. He doesn't want people to kill him and other creatures. Unfortunately there's a lot of majority of people are mediocre and their emphasis creating a lot of innocent animals who are being killed, harboring killed, restlessly killed. And as a result people also die. Big of karma comes back. Most of the people that we do around us are going on to it's horrible thing. We're trying to help you. We don't want to see people suffer. That's why we're working so hard to prevent it. Things that really happen, it's going to be wars, it's going to be tsunamis, it's going to be earthquakes. There's going to be cyclones and hurricanes and all kinds of things. As long as we break the laws of nature and we create so many violent crimes against other living entities. And it's not Krishna is watching. Exactly. Director P intervenes and saves the mornings in that he doesn't directly have any sense in the Lord. What he directly sets up the system and he lets. He has to prove it. Like he comes to him for approval. But he doesn't directly. It's not. It's all happening. It's automatically. So he's doing that with some kind of vendetta or anything sometimes. But that's like specifically if it's related like people stealing property from the temple or something like that. In Sri Lanka there's an interesting story. There was a fisherman boat of Muslim fishermen. They were out in the sea when the tsunami hit and the Tsunami was right under the poet in the north. It's in the ocean. The tsunami is only very 6, 15 cm, maybe 50 cm etc. When it hits the shore. So he was actually seeing them when it was hidden. His village was being destroyed. But then he saw this picture. This is that picture that he saw actually in the ocean. Like the vision of an ancestor. A big snake with a blue person lying down like a snake. And he once said, what's up? He did. He didn't know who this was. He just was surprised. How could somebody be lying on a snake? And how are they in the middle of the ocean? They freaked him out. So they went back to his village. When he came back there was nothing there. But everything was completely destroyed by tsunami was released the whole thing. Then he told the children. Somehow he was able to go and save his baby boy. And this and that stuck on a tree or, you know, some detail thing. He just reached there and thank the help people. And afterwards he told them he saw this vision or he saw this person in the ocean. How is it possible? And sometimes I know that that sounds like a Hindu goddess. It's a temple Brahma, something like that. I went by one time. And so they went and they saw that there was this advantageous deity group Pirometers down the way.
