20050426 || Class, Loving Welcome and Address || Bihar, Śyāmadeśa, Dublin #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

This is a 2005 recorded class/address by Jaya Pataka Swami (YouTube), centering on Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu: his life, ecstatic pastimes, and role in initiating the Sankirtan movement that democratized devotional service through congregational chanting (Hare Krishna). The talk traces the disciplic succession from Chaitanya through the six Goswamis, Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati, to Srila Prabhupada and modern ISKCON outreach, with anecdotes of pilgrimage (Gaya, Patna, Vrindavan), global preaching tours (Ganga yatra) and practical pastoral advice (family devotion, avoiding envy). The speaker notes 2005 as the 500th anniversary of Chaitanya's initiation and emphasizes universal accessibility of the sankirtan method.

And also the Moshe Chani liked to walk with jumping the gun. He wanted to go to Vrindavan early. He was so much in separation of Krishna. But Vrindali we already control Sarah outside of Vrindavan who is controlling a guy standing reminded what you better know. Wait back to Bengal. Because of that we got the Sankirtan movement. Like that's what Prabhupada said. We have to do work now, Samadhi later. And also before we go to our let Samadhi, Venakini and Krishna we had to do a lot of service for the Lord. He had to spread the Krishna conscious movement. So 500 years ago Lord Chaitanya they are telling us that he got initiated in Gaia. So they tell them in the walking path. He went here, back to Padma, went to Salamur, went back, stopped in Kalaima, went back to Bengal. Was in Bengal for some time. Showing his ecstasy, serving the Vaishnavas. The people were criticizing him. Then he went in a full Shiva because everybody saying that I got some mental disease. I want to know whether I have a disease or not. Then Siva asked, what's your symptoms? He said, you see, whenever I chant then my hairs are standing on end. My voice gets soaked, tears are coming from my eyes. My body was erupting in all these emotions. So people say when I have a disease, do I have a disease? Then Shiva Satwa said, yes, you have a disease. And I want that disease also. Nobody wants diseases. When he said he wanted a disease also before that he was looking very serious. The Lord Shikani got also like very worried. Oh no, it's true. Then he realized that okay, the Shivas is looking at your job with him. Siva said, you have the disease of love of Gandhi and Krishna. Preva Prema Prayodhana, you have Krishna Vena disease. You are very fortunate. Actually even Brahma and Shiva there are anxious to get that disease. Then Shiva told him that problem is that people won't understand your emotions. Because they don't have. They're not on that level, but by the sun. The public will always misunderstand. I will. I know some senior devotees, some mature devotees who can appreciate their ecstasy to come and chant in my gardens. And then I'll invite only those select people like that they were having the chanting. Then sometime after that Indiana Prabhupada came. The Sanjay Khan movement was starting. As I said, this year he got initiated. All those things they happen by next year means starting with the sun, kidnapped. But normally there is no they celebrate one Pain in the house. All these things happened. Lord Shintanya came here twice to Patna. At least twice. Twice another time he went to the Naras Jayakanda and got the animals to dance. Recently on the road. His San Kidnappari was in Jericho. Remember how virginals to dance there. But some ruffians, tribal ruffians said they had to give us 500 rupees to buy whiskey, wine or whatever. They said to hit that bus and they didn't know how to handle it. They refused Somehow they attacked the women. So smashed the windows. Broke the hand of one of the sangeeta in the wooden cask on his hand. He even get the animals to chant and dance. And did his soul. It even tended to human beings. Yesterday the book distribution presentation. It's not over. Is easy. Even in India. These people stopping on the roads and give us money. Shopkeepers. I get away from my shop different problems int they always sometimes employees the team immediately give you some trouble. Other book consumers initially tell me how many face all those. So this is the 500th anniversary Lord Chicago coming here. We should have another press release so that you know the people in Pakna. I don't know much. I feel connected to Lord Chaitanya. Don't know how much they understand that Lord Shaitanya came here. Bihar is quite a holy place in Saint. This second set a place around the Surah sacred words. Christian came and went many times between Singapore and Madhura. And Gurushitra Here also learned that Krishna came to see that Mahuhullah's life was a Ramana Suta Dev that was a little bit to the east of Padna. I think. We don't know exactly. There's no which place in where did the light pole. That's him. You sure? Let me call this. I thought it was somewhere it'd be higher. Then I pour like all the way north of the Ganses up till half of the heart has to nipple. And Sita Sitamai Sita up here just of the order of Nepal. And Bihari and Bihar this whole area. Krishna came here also. I thought this one says kingdom this time. Other Ram Bhattas and Jarat Sandaraj here to the east south from here southeast. As well as the kingdom of Magarv. And Krishna went with Dima and R. Arjuna friends with Brahmanas to make of Chara sandh. And they baked a pipe hand to hand. So then Bhima Jonathan have a fight there. That's where fish also came there. Then there's new Gaya to The west there's a place called Bhojpur I don't know whether that Bhojpur is same as the Bhoja dynasty Really any connections? I don't know if that's a connection but. But people look like Vajravasi or something it's like they're all from Bojpur sometimes also by the same area Anyway, Buddha also appeared here so many things are happening Bihar Lord Shetania walks in different places, different ways Walk through Gaya through Jarikant to Gaya then Hungaya through Banaras he had referred to point himself if he had somebody who's envious we should get rid of him Riddle was envious of Christian effort He was asked we illuminated the family the we set off and you have caused destruction of our family that's also important and envy this is the one vice that we cannot engage in Krishna service come from global all the other ones you can engage you can be angry for Krishna Just like some people might say we are greedy for Krishna we wanted this big property we're so greedy we have a nice big property so we can build a nice big temple for Krishna Some people tell this is lust you have so much desire because we're doing it for Krishna it's not a problem and we that's something you cannot use for Ka I want to speak of being envious against Krishna and his devotees we want to avoid enviousness against Krishna and the devotees if we have such thoughts in our mind we have to drive them out just like the Dora said to drive out we know them if we have such Duryodhan type of mentality yet to dry out of our mind that will be for the good of our own spiritual development Another thing Prabhupada mentions in the purport here is about Chanakya Chanakhal seems to be mentioned in the Bible the last future predictions of Kali Yoga mentions about the Brahmana who raises up sutra something like that There is some reference it says that's referring to Chanakya so the ruins of Chandragupta here that's all happening in this book Many times Prabhupada quotes Chimekin as a moralist but somewhere with this particular quote he said what is the use of a son who is neither a learned man nor a devotee of the Lord Although he may be primarily wireless but he also has appreciation for devotees we cannot learn another devotee we have no beginning Please. There is a straight problem There is a terrace with his disciples he was coming this Way as a Sangasi. He got up to Kanay Asalam. He came back. Mubita Godz was traveling with him and he he was worded by French companion to take rehearsal life. Another long story. He said on the end of the plants of to. Then he followed the order, got married, he had a son. But then his wife died. Then his son died. What is the point? Why did the Lord have me get married when his son and wife both died? Why did I go through all this? Maybe I obviously I wasn't. So he was very humble. He thought since I wasn't good enough to be a Sannyasi. So I was depending that at least my son will be a supra and he'll do pindi for me after I die. And in this way I can get sick if I'm not qualified on my own to get back to Gaza. So he was worshipping Gopinath giving and the Gobindili was chastising him that your service is not very regulated. Now I'm not getting the rds on time. Vishats Bhogas bless. What's wrong? He said, well born chattel told me to get married. I got married, I had a son, my wife died, my son died. I don't have no son anymore. So I'm feeling very down. But I'm your son. Yes, but you're not that kind of son. I mean, you're not going to do the pindi for me. So do I do pindi for you? Will you take care of the offerings properly? Then he said, called all the village leaders. All the village leaders were called. And the lady spoke, said, I'm accepting Ominka Ghosh as my father. After his departure, I will perform on his death anniversary day Hindi for him. Another swami went there at least once. I know. I heard you went there. It's an abroad week. About hour runs at my airport. There's the samadhi of and every year the Gopinar didi and the currency of the Golpuringa. The first one, Moses will then plays and performs piti for his devotees. It is amazing. It's an amazing ceremony. But here we are. This happened. Our Ramya Sephardi reached there on the day before that. So the next year all there. And that morning when they carry the baby on kalki and take to that salami, the puchari grabbed me and pulled me inside the temples. I was just in the corner. While they were doing all with the banana leaves and dropping the sesame seeded rice from the hand touching the lily falling down making the little rice cake type chilis, chanting our mantras. And I was saying there was about 10,000 people fighting together. That's another part of it. So I was just watching the beautiful ceremony. How I was so moved how Kisha reciprocating with the love of his devotee. It says sometimes people see the lady turn white, black color lady jumps on the busta. Sometimes he turns white. I didn't see white. But in this place alongside the kisses we accepted as his father. Good father, Good son. Good son. When the sun is not in the morning it's like irons in our mind is facing some irritation and no views from it. This should be the most important thing for the Grihasadas. How to get our children to be devotees for India Today they are thinking how I can get them to be good engineer, get a good company, good job, how to be something. This is what economic development and how I can see myself learning is getting a degree. My grandson is telling me it coolies. Some of our IP devorgans they just put them in something called sweatshop. They have vacations for the they're so tired sometimes they don't have any energy left or they don't have time for sponge spiritual life. Somehow they're just barely getting their own know like maximum hours working in the arsenal. They work more. I think police work less hours than those IT people. Some of them they work so harder. Poor guys. We want to get them to chant 12 working hours working. Everybody wants to get a good job, get some education, get a degree, get a high degree. But you have no temperature, no spiritual temperature, no spiritual credit. And here's an interesting point. Speed devoting that should be diversity. They may be learning or not learning but they should be learning have a devotion for the Lord. These two things especially most important is devotion. For some reason the Lord and all of their qualities will come. Then they'll be apatya. They will say the father from hell someone happiness of the Lord. Then they create so many problems. Somehow Dheerajada found that he had a really good sun in the shape of the yoga. He didn't realize that the sun is going to cause the destruction of all the sun. Very gentle presence. But even him as to speak very straightforwardly for the good sake of the family. Any question coming from the sannyasis don't have to do Hindi hinda because they're no longer part of the Goshada. They don't have to. They like Sanyasi. The answers should look hindrance. But in one sense there's nothing. It's just worship of Ishmael. They do it the proper light. There's nothing wrong with it. The Sadhguru Samskara de ga in a perfect introduction and says some people they offer meat at their son thinking that my forefather like fish and meat. So I often like fish and meat. They don't realize they're offering him like a ticket to hell. Even already it's in hell. They just push him down a little further with this kind of thing or worshipping. SRA is only meant for Vishnu. For some people do Shraddha namigas, the devas these offering non breath obviously. So all this thing is considered very simple and very authentic. The Shraddhu Vishnu Pooja Vishnu Prasad. I don't know how to say anything. I mean we brought so many residents. It is regardless of me. They gave us. They gave me a faint silver footprint replica of the Vishnu palace for my sober. And then all the devotees were chanting there. Like all the people. They started chanting and dancing. Then they gave everybody one impression. They took actually put a cloth. They put like shutdown or something. And the Lord has put the impression. They put that quad on top so that there's an actual from the lotus book of Vishnu. And I gave each of our devotees. They all got souvenir footprints Vishnu. The quad well is even more special than the silver one. Get. So used to be a big temple. It was broken down by now it's the modest temple still nice, still bright. But before was not here. It has a sign of Hindus only. But they allow western Hindus to know also this ship. All the temples were at school including Vishwana and Maruvai used to be open. And now they become cultivating the holy grail. Thank you very much. Tell me before I'm going to do the nothing it's ever pressed. Okay, Just. I don't hold it. Yeah, but how. One minute now. One second. Let me just take picture for Ra. Can you turn it as a spiritual student. We are very happy and proud to have you amidst us in celebrating your 56th appearance day. Repay to Lord Nashmadeva for your healthy, blissful and long life. Kindly enable us to serve you more and more. Then you can go back. Sam. Sara, it's you. Don't. Don't block. Offer it without blocking. Can you offer it without blocking the camera? Okay, let me just take a flash. Can you take some picture with this to the public? Sam, we're the group that opted for trying out what it's like without fishbone and this is our rehabilitation program in the material world. We're allowed to operate without the abhaya and the spiritual mode. Everyone's aware of ka's constant existence and presence. But here people are not so much aware about the presence of God. It's not obvious. You have to find out from some religion, some spiritual teachers. So there's different theories and different ideologies and theologies about the personality Godhead or the existence of supreme reality. If someone doesn't want to believe. I just read that in the Friends. They're just out of the way. They're just took out a trance that 40% of the people. There's an article of the Pope that said that he's facing this trouble, that all over Europe, all over the world, the places which were the strongholds of his Roman Catholicism are now becoming sectarian. And although there's a vast number of people that might not only say that they're Catholics, but only something like 8% actually before mass every week. So it said 28% or 40%. I forget Marduh in France have no religion. They don't know they have no religion. They said where Francis said was particularly a tough place. He said, but they didn't give England, but we gave America and a few other places. So anyway, it's a tough world for spirituality. We're taking a lot of readings. So. And people have that freedom of will and they don't want to believe in the God or Gara. There's no answer. So Krishna comes down himself once in a period of millennium of Brahma Brahman. We go on Kalpa day of Brahma. And every Yuga, every change of cycle in the time, he comes at least once in the form of an expansion, an avatar, incarnation of Godhead. And he's constantly sending his representatives as gurus, Acharyas. So Krishna in the beginning of the universe, Krishna. Then he initiated Brahma. Then from Brahma I went to Narada, and from Narada I went to the Yasude. But the Assad was the one who wrote all the way around all the 18 Puranas, 100 Nehrupanishads, 4 Vedas, Mahabharatas. It's all written by Vyanaste. He's an incarnation also, but he's also coming as a disciple in the light. Even Krishna, when he came to the earth and his past time, he also accepted a guru called Sunda Panimuni because he teaches by his example. He was a perfect example of religious life for the most part. Sometimes he do inconceivable things. But the general daily routine lives like that. So from beyance the day, then there's whole other lana, spiritual masters come Magvad Acharyas, and there's for Madhra there's to put a squiggle. There's a squiggle like there's like 25 gurus writing, writing all down. But then they end up to Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who was again Krishna. But Krishna came as a devotee. He came a Krishna. Prabhupada said in the Kali Yuga, in the age of Dwarfa Yuga, when Krishna was here, he was a supreme personalized guy who lived through mountains. And he did all these miraculous things, went to the spiritual world with Arjuna and Mahavishnu, things that nobody can do. He brought back the dead sons of the ground of life. He was publicly not hiding the fact that he was supreme person. Although generally he would act as a king or a coward boy, depending whether he was a Vrindavan or Dwaraka. But so Prabhupada explained that in Krishna he gave the lesson Bhagavad Gita Sarva Dharman Kritya Ja Mama. Surrender to me, I'll protect you. I'll bring you back. Give up other paths, other processes of religion, other responsibilities. Surrender to me, I'll protect you. I'll bring you back to me. But in spite of that, that is such a very clear directive. Most of the followers of the Vedas, they don't surrender to Ka. So many hadiths, even Krishna says directly gives this instruction of Bhagavad Yoga. Still people, they don't come. So then the idea was that as Lord Caitanya, he's coming this time in the Karma Yuga, the Lord doesn't come as proclaimed on the time. He comes in a covered way. So he came with the idea that I'll show by my example, by coming as a devotee, like a teacher can show by telling everyone, do this, do that, that's one way of teaching. But then another way is to take the chalk and write on the board and show this is how you do it. Two plus two equals four and so on. So we can give that a practical example. So Lord Chaitanya came to give this practical example. Krishna says, surrender to me. I'll show them how to surrender to Ka. So he didn't write any books. He says bhaiva Gita Shima bhai vuh tem. They're good enough. You know how many written the books previous you will ignore. They already spoke the Bhagavad Gira, Best day wrote. The mind would come telling people, follow those books. He's practically showing. He's reading them, he's studying them, he's living their teachings. Here you can see some of the ecstatic. Here's dancing in the rath. Yatra Vijayanandavaru is catching him. He showed so much loving ecstasy that people, they were just overwhelmed. They were signing. So his method was to show people how much ecstasy there is in loving Krishna. Just like, you know, today we get a little drop, a drop of a drop molecule from the drop of the bliss. But even then the monis. I feel so nice. How many of you felt nice chanting Hare Krishna? So you guys, even these fallen souls, as we chant, then we can feel so much happiness. But Lord Chaitanya, who was showing the personification of pure love of Krishna, he was in the Buddha Rani. The amount of ecstasy, the amount of love that he was giving out was unlimited. This is the year. Now 2005 is the 500th anniversary of Lord Caitanya's taking initiation. From that point where he took initiation, then he publicly started to show all the ecstatic symptoms. Before that, he was more reserved than he was more as a pandit in his dealings. He was the greatest pandit of his time. He was a Vaishnava pandit. But he was not extremely devotional in his presentation system. Standard devotional. But after initiation then he completely changed and he was chanting and dancing. So his idea is he wants to give people. He says that people should all get the mercy of Ka. Normally it's quite hard to get the mercy of Krishna. You had to for Krishna to get his mercy. When he was present, those souls who surrendered to him, who completely took his shelter, surrender, they got love for Ka. But how many of us, how many people in the world are ready to completely surrender to Ka? And they call Yuga. So Lord Chai channel, he made it even easier. Okay, they just chanted Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare Harris. Then they'll be delivered. And it's effective for everyone. Not only the Aryan bratas, the Indians, but even people from other cultures. We just had a Ganga safari around India where I was traveling with about 160 devotees. They came from 40 countries. We had from Nigeria, from Ghana, from South Africa. We had from all over South America, about 10, 15 different countries there. All Eastern Europe, Western Europe, all the countries that I could, except for maybe Luxembourg or something. More or less all the areas we had covered then Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan, China. You had a really good Wide group of Americans, North America, Canada and everybody was chanting Hare Krishna. All Blitzwell is like United nations of the spiritual world. So people were very impressed. And India to see so many different countries. People chanting Hare Krishna. We're going along the Ganges. He's going to Harshikesh Haridwar, to Varanasi and to the place where Lord Chaitanya took initiation in Gaya. To Patna and Bihar. To Kanai Natshana where Lord Chaitanya saw Krishna. Krishna revealed himself to Lord Chaitanya. Nityananda's birthday. So many homey places. So. So we can see practically that Ka Kashmir can be practiced for anybody. But of course if people already have some faith in Ka then it's very easy for them even without faith. It works. Once I was in Hyderabad in South India and especially South Indians they always come up with some amazing philosophical questions. One gentleman came right in the. I was just waiting for someone to want you to register on the list. I was standing outside in the post office and this gentleman come up. Every religion says you have to have a blind faith. You must simply follow their way. Isn't there any religion you can practice without any faith? You know when people have to think of Krishna. Ok, Krishna was the answer for this one. We could get to the big database there. And then I really came to mind that Vamiki he was. He couldn't even chant the name of Ram. He was so simple that when Narada asked him chant the name around me he said I can't chant anything. Hold on. I'm a murderer, I'm an assassin, I'm a robber. So he can you chant, you know kill kill kill in Sanskrit. That I can do. I've been doing that all along. Killing, you know, robbing. So chant mara mara mara mara which is mara. See you chanting mara mara mara which when you add it all up, when you put that to the first mara mara Rama it becomes Rama, Rama, Rama. But in thinking in his mind, kill, kill, kill, kill. But still even when chanting the kill mantra he got purified. So then I gave that example. So he did it. He was chanting without specific even thinking about God. He thinks about killing. But somehow by even accidentally champion when they were around, he got Pierre and push. Thank you very much. India is a wonderful place people. So many nice questions. So that's Lord Chaitanya. His mission to give to everybody. Even people who normally don't have access to spiritual knowledge give them that chance somehow. Another if they take Prasadam Chana, Hare Krishna, if they worship the deities, do Something connected and they get so much blessings. So his principal followers were six Goswamis. Six Goswamis. But he had so many hundreds and thousands of disciples. But amongst them prominent. And our six Goswamis are here on the altar to the right. You see the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 of them. They especially Rupa and Sanatana were the main ones. But all the six Goswamis, they helped to gather all the references from the different Puranas and Vedas and took the teachings of Word Chaitanya and presented them with the the scriptural evidences. Then there's another squiggle coming down. So then there's so many other gurus that came. And then it came down to the Bhakti. Lord Thakur, through Jagannatha's Babaji and Bhakti Ganano Thakura, he you can write the rest of them. He was. When he came, Vaishnava religion was not. And Bengal was like in a disaster case situation. So many of the Vaishnavas followers of Loi Chaitanya were doing nonsense things. He read the philosophy, he heard from the authorized people. And then he realized that this philosophy is really the greatest thing. It's really the most elaborate. Right on simple, direct to the the point explanation of who we are, what we're supposed to be doing and what's the perfection we're supposed to achieve. So then he reactivated at that time. See, Lord Chaitanya, he didn't make any temples. But the six Goswamis, they all made temples in Vrindavan, Rava, Govinda, Radha, Gopina, Brother Madan Mohan, they made temples. Lord Chaitanya, he didn't make temples. Bhartiyananda, he did this Ramah teaching. Similarly Bhakti Binob Thakur, he didn't concentrate on making temples. He made one small temple at the birthplace of Chitanya. But mainly he did was also congregational preaching to get people to practice Ka conscious from their home. Then following him was Gokishwar DHA's Babaji and then Bhakti, Siddhanta, Saraswati Ra. Maybe you could set up projector here. No problem. Expand the preaching all over India and try to expand it to the west. He sent a couple of disciples here to the UK to London for preaching. He made 64 temples. And then he was the one who sent Srila Prabhupada and to the west told him that you should go and pick. So then Prabhupada, he came here to the west and traveled around the world 14 times and made 108 temples. But he also instructed that we should do this, encourage people to practice from their homes, to practice Ka consciousness, that the temple should be an example. It's a problem to teach people how they can practice in their own life. So this was the idea is that we have this parampra. This is like our family tree to Prabhupada from Krishna. There's 34 gurus, principal gurus mentioned and there's many others supporting gurus that I was there. And the idea is that we're trying to please what the previous acharyas or gurus desire to do and try to expand their mission. We had to be loyal to our spiritual master. There's always that temptation to change things or to go out of the line. But Padma Quran it says there's like this four spiritual lines. And one should be in one of the lines in order to get the full effect of the mantra. And once you get initiated and sheltered and guidance from a particular line, if it's you in a bona fide line, then one should remain in that spiritual line. Try to serve the spiritual masters. That way they get their shelter. Especially if you're shaded and go outside. In my mainly it's considered very offensive to the spiritual master. So the goal of Ka consciousness is actually to disseminate this mercy of Ka all over the planet to everyone and to support all the devotees in their spiritual practices so that people can get a good association for Allah said once. There's so many associations for business, for commerce, for sports, for so many things. Stamp collections, motor car racing, cricket to get here. Everything possible that could start with. Not everything. I'm sure there will be. But thank you for watching our videos. Be sure to subscribe to our channel. We publish new videos every day. And don't forget to like and share our channel.
