Sometimes it seemed the darkest moments were upon us. Community was struggling greatly, but would always come.

And so much spiritual meant to my spiritual growth.

And so by Krishna's grace, he was facing enough of his keep coming and go rather than starting to realize how fortunate we are that you come into our presence. Always feel inadequate in every way.

I think this is the nature of.

The priority that even though we have no real qualifications, their mercy is bestowed on everyone regardless of their qualification. So for me personally, I'm just very grateful to have the nine association Pray that I can always serve in any way.

This is Guru Disciple, this little Godbrother. Appreciate so much for you. I remember every day because every day I take Blue Boy for us.

Working.

Father was the pilot of Indian Airlines. He was somehow stationed in Karl Khaja and he was a student during the school postgraduate. His parents are from Karnataka. Gauges were available. He speaks South Indian, Please be yellow English. So he was a very creative person. Nice to have him.

You brought me here. He paid for the ticket. It was what my father paid to the thing you did.

Why is your father. I said, somehow I don't leave any options.

My partner Sudarshuta who came and took me away. Actually you wanted me to buy a ticket to travel with you. But somehow I got a ticket traveling with Bhattachary Maharaj and Sudhar Maharaj came in the same flight you were in. I think at that Eastern Airlines. And somehow I didn't know that I bought it to twa. And then at that time we met in New York in 1985. And then Radhanathumara told me that you had gone to Atlanta. So I followed you the next flight to Atlanta. And then after that I saw history. That night I received that. Why did you come here? I told you to stay in New York. And he said, welcome to Atlanta. You said you wanted me to stay in New York, but you left a message to somebody else. I didn't communicate with that person. So I came straight from you want.

Me to meet you?

Wait in New York and travel with you while you were in the US But I was already there in Atlanta. And I said, okay, welcome to Atlanta. Since then I was for 18 years New Orleans. Four years as a disciple Sometimes I can get clustered. They are familiar with the term Guru. They give out Shlokas in praise of Guru. But actually somehow the realization is not there. So like a parrot in early childhood I used to repeat some Shlokas praising Guru maharaj. But after 22 years I realized that Prabhupada there was a Shloka that I was trained in the early age in my house and my parents. So it's like this Dhyana Muram Guror Murthy Puja Mulam Guru Patam, Mantra Mulam Guru Vakyam, Moksha Mulam Guru Pripadam says the object of meditation is Guru. The object of worship is Gurumara's lotus worship. I mean lotus speaking and mantra Mulam Guru Vakim. Every sentence spoken by a guru is like a mantra that you're supposed to repeat. You hear it and you repeat it. That's how the message prays. Like the mantra and Moksha Munang Guru Pripa. The cause of liberation is the most of. So we were trained to.

Say the.

What is that? I was trying to say that Mantua and then we did that in the childhood. But no, I didn't have a door. But we just. In fact in the common Indian household they use that famous verse Guru Guru Brahma Guru Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu, Guru Deva Maheshwar. Like all the three Trinity is their gurus. Just because being born in a Brahmin family, we were trying to memorize some Shlokas. This was one of the Shlokas that we memorized to go to Bala Vihar classes. Sunday classes Atma Tattva for conducted in Atlanta, I mean in Kakara. But I was iced to assistant. But later at that time, while assisting, I learned many Shlokas on the Sunday classes. And I still remember those verses. What I learned in the early ages before joining full time in this kind of world. But I may be memorizing Shlokas and understanding his philosophy. But it took me 22 years to actually realize that I might be repeating what you said as a parent. But now I'm beginning to understand. I realized that whatever you say, I have to repeat whatever you. Your path is my. My path of liberation is to assist you in whatever future you have. I was doing. I was doing some things my independent way. Oh, I want to have this as my project. I wanted this as a project and I was failed in all of. Because it is not connected with people. But that as I say failure is the first step to success. We say I didn't give up. I haven't given up yet. So I'm still hankering to assist you.

In your pushing effort all over your ground.

Sometimes in the past, I also tried to memorize the lectures and I saw the effect immediately. There was a lecture Guru Maharaj gave in Los Angeles with Ramashwar Maharaj. I was listening to that lecture and I listened so often that I actually had memorized everything that Bruno has said about the eight different steps of Bhakti yogurt. Give an example of sugar cane juice quoting Bhakti Dhruvta. From growth of planting a seed of sugarcane to making of sugar candy, each level of is kind of connected with the levels of advancement in Bhakti yoga. So that was also in between Guru Mah's cracks and jokes. So I also used those jokes and then same response. People laughed at me. So and after that it was given as a Sunday lecture in Atlanta and people actually came back forward and praised. They never heard such a lecture. I said, well, the credit goes to my Guru Maharaj, not to me, because those were not my words. So no, I in my heart I knew where the phrase supposed to be. But I took all the praises that they haven't heard. That was the beginning at first. Then I started doing more and more. Then I think the secret was founder, all of us came to know about it. He said, I heard that lecture somewhere else. I said, yes. And I also memorized Srila Gropa's plagiarism.

Dear Guru Mahkaraj, we would like to describe a few nice events from this past year. Back in October, we were really excited to know that you were coming to see the deities and the devotees of the Normans at the Dallas temple. All the local devotees were so eager to render service to you and especially the helpful mothers for making plans to receive you at the homes and through your meal. It became a transcendental competition until the temple president wife settled the issue with a wise advice to us, saying, no. His disciples, you have to take full advantage of his business and you are the ones who are going to serve him. We have our relationship with our guru and we know how painful it is when he is not not present anymore. So please go ahead, don't worry for us. Go and serve your guru. I realize how people from all over the world know you and love you so much. And sometimes they even wait for years and years to take your shelter. That was the case of the Munagopu. They once saw the transformation of her from a very quiet and shy Person who came every day to help in the temple and also to cook for the restaurant. To a person full of smiles, very happy in every day. So thankful for giving you your shelter. Later when you were visiting a wife, my son Walarma was visiting them like he's doing right now. And he told me that he was so blissful having so much close and intimate connection with you. He moved me to tears by telling me that when he asked you, please Guru Maharaj, say some prayers for my mom, my brothers and the entire community of Muyaban. He said he put one hand on each one of my shoulders and looked deeply into my eyes and said, I am praying for all of the Muntalaban devotees right now. This year a very successful Mardi Gras. The year directed by Kamindi David Arci did an outstanding job decorating the floor. And thanks to the dedication of Jayapal Mi Gopi the crowd received a shadow.

My cousin Ushaya Prabhu used his flag to pull the cloth. And we have a sweet association of who so much enjoyed the ride. After so much suffering due to Katrina. The people in New Orleans were in a more sourdough and friendly mood. And in several occasions people turned on husband. Thank you so much for being here. And I realized how a feeling it in a good fortune is for me that all these years I have belonged to ISKCON and still I have the infinite good fortune to be able to speak on my spiritual one. Last time, something that happened that inspired you or you say some realization. I guess we have the first experience of working assistant in some way. You work very hard in the office.

Well, I have so many past lives that are very ecstatic that I. That I can share. But I was realizing this year when you were doing your mass of puja snow, not actually homages, that I was. I almost couldn't stop talking because even though I didn't have a paper with me, but I had all of these memories. And every year there was more and more memories of wonderful pastimes. Even though my memory isn't so great anymore, I remember the things from the very beginning.

I write them down. So I write all I wish I.

Wrote all my things down myself.

Well, one pastime that just recently happened, I was. Adi and I were leaving India and I couldn't go on safari this year. But I got to attend one program, one of the very first programs they had. So I was just as a guest, like watching. I wasn't on stage and I didn't get a chance to properly say goodbye to Umaraj on our trip. And it was like the next day we were leaving. So the devotees I was with wanted to go home. And so we went. We were staying in Pantaratma, so we went back. And then I was a little disappointed. I don't know when I'll see. But I wish I could have.

Formally.

Said, Hare Krishna, I'm leaving and get blessings or something. Anyway, we were at the airport the next day ready to leave. And it was just about time for the plane. So we were on time. So we got out of the security. The women go through one security and the men go. So I was with Adi and Adi went through his. And then I was like ready to get my Bags off of the ramp security belt. And as soon as I got from then I saw Adi standing there talking to Guru Maharaj in the airport. So I was like, no way. And so I just couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe how fortunate I was to get that last bit of mercy which, you know, he pulled out his mind for Krishna gave us each few nuggets of mercy. And I was just like, couldn't believe it. I can't believe how Krishna just arranges this amazing opportunity to see you again. And he met going to miss you.

I'm sorry.

And then I was like, oh my gosh, I think I have to get on the plane. He's like, no, you don't have to go. That's mine.

I have to go.

So then he had to leave. It was just funny because if I had been five minutes late or a little bit not late, but a few minutes delayed, he would have been gone. And same he would have come earlier. I wouldn't have seen him. But it's just our lives are not ordinary. Krishna arranges so many amazing things to happen to the devotees of the Lord. No matter what level we're at. Guru Maharaj is so merciful and it's continuing and it's just like the years and years and years and years add up. Assume you have a whole book of pastimes and memories that you can think of or read about. I want to thank Gurraj so much for the continuing relationship that we have with mercy they are always giving us here at Mutual. And we pray so much for your.

Your health and your preaching.

And please allow me to constantly have that load of assisting and preaching. That's something I love to do.

When I was. I was just seven or eight years old regulations because my father was in the army, he was in defense. Even though we were so called Madhuachaya Sampadaya Brahman. But we never followed in rules and revelation. So this is where ISKCON comes. And I'm so indebted to Prabhupada society that he gave us a real way like how the crown should behave. And when I in a college.

And.

When I planned to join ISKCON full time, then my other childhood guru Swami he came to know my father was.

Very upset when I said I'm going.

To join his pond. So my father called his lifetime we were in Bombay. So the Swami came and for so long for three days he stayed in my house. And he was only arguing with things that maybe a born in a problem. If you want to join, why don't you join a family? Master something. If you want to preach, why you have to go to iskcon. Then he was always telling that how the white body can become a Brahmin. It's not like he was trying to discourage me. Then I used to tell him that like whatever Prabhupada said, even Chaitanya Mahaprabhu went to Murugi. And he was saying it because God does so much fault in philosophy and all these things. And when Bhakti Siddhasa Sati Maharaj said that who is Brahman actually? And I was telling him, then he got very upset. He said no. Like you are born in a Brahmin family, your body got crushing blood in you. How you can give up your own South Indian blood and work in Turmistan. Then I said that so long you have been initiated. You never cast as my father father that he's smoking and he's drinking. You never straightened him up. You never said okay, stop doing all these things. You're born in a Brahman family, you should not do this. Why you didn't tell us? Why didn't you tell my father? Even though he's still doing all these things, he's still putting Brahman thread. When you people come then you take bath and you Brahman and you take food in our house even though you know. But in ISKCON they are very strict. They're very straight. It's if you want to go Brahmin, follow the Brahmin. So after that so long argument, he was like he gave up on me. Then I went and joined his Brahmin. Then when I came back after many years, I go to home. When he came back then I told him that see, this is what I wanted it. Even if he told me when I was 8 or 9 years old that eating almond is bad or my father is drinking is bad, I would have never left you. But the philosophy and the rules and regulations Maharashtra Prabhupada gave is varied to everyone. No matter if Brahman or Malachya or children, everything. Then I told one thing that that's why Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said that the Shudra will become a guru and try to Teach the Brahmins so that which of Prabhupada made the Brahman and try to teach the other people. So I'm so indebted to Sri Prabhupada that even though I'm a Brahman I was born in a Brahman family. And after coming to ISKCON now I realize what a valuable philosophy, what a valuable society Prabhupada here for all of us. And as much as you I just last month I met you in South Africa and Math Yatra I remember like and when I was in Mayapur in 91 when I was in guest house manager the first thing he came and asked me when I was in the front desk the first thing he asked me do you know Bengali?

I said no.

Then he told me if you want to stay in Mayapur, you have to learn Bengali. Because so many Bengali people come and start learning Bengali and slowly. I know, I know come.

First thing you know.

So this is how I started learning Bengali. I know like 50% I can't like I'm not like Parishkar Bengali but I can do it like yes. That's why Maharaj I want to really appreciate the society Prabhupada and all the gurus that they're giving such a wonderful guidance to all of us that it never meant to drop you met we only mention the books to to your. Thank you very much for giving us a some words of appreciation to Brahmaj.

To say anything about him. But I am very grateful, very thankful to him there he gave me initiation and gave me shelter on his lotus feet. I am very thankful to him and I will try my level best to please him. And I will try to spade Chaitanu's message the mission Gopal started and he's trying to improve and he's trying to develop. When did you first meet Guru Maharaj told me it was so nice exchange.

I cannot remember the exact date so many years ago. But I can still remember when I was on Sriliguru Kasarguri I went Bhagar airport with some of the devotees to pick him up from airport.

And then when he came to New Taliban and you actually got to speak with him.

Yeah. Last time in the happy time he spoke with me in Bengali and also and I noticed that he never ignored anyone. He always try to keep trust with everyone. Even he never ignored even kids. Even a child with everyone. That the main I guess like Mother.

Kaivalya I Have so many pastimes. I remember one time when we went on safari. You know, when you travel in India, like, people that have gone know, you stay in one compartment and there's like six places there. Like, for Indians, it's more like 15, 20, but, like, it's actually supposed to be six spots. And we stayed up the whole night, six matajis in our compartment. Just telling Guru Maharaj pastime. So many, like, amazing things that happened, how he had touched their hearts and given so much of himself. So also I should start to record or write them down. I guess things that I remember that especially touched me are things that happened with my children. All my children are in their 20s now, but they were born devotees. And they were very young when they first met Guru Maharaj Narayan, who is now this had his 26th birthday. He was one year old, was three, just about to turn four. And he was always just so caring with them. I remember one time Kalindi told me we lived at Maraisbad, Maybe she was 4 or 5 years old. And she said, I was a single mother. I took care of my children mostly by myself. And so she said to me one day, sometimes I miss my father, but I know that Acharya Patty is my real father. He's my spiritual father. And she was 5 years old. And so for me, something I remember because I carry in my heart, like her realization or another time when we were on Safari in 2004 for the installation of Panchitagua. We all went, all my children and I, for that special year to be there for the celebration. Installation, celebration. Also to travel with Rumara. And we were in Jagannath Puri and in the train station. We had just got off the train. And so we were standing, waiting, what's the next program? And I was there with my son, PC and everybody knows PC. He's like 100 kilos and six two.

Kind of a big guy.

And so Guru Maharaj was walking along.

And he stopped and looked and, PC is that you?

And then I guess because PC had been kind of. He was kind of out of the loop for a few years, maybe not coming around so much when Grimmage was there.

PC is that you?

And he is kind of shouted, yes, Gurmaj, it's me.

He said, you used to be chubby.

But now you're strong. And then he looked at him and he said. He said, like, I was almost with tears. He said, you were always my favorite. And like, you for a mother, it was like melting my heart. So, like, because my children are so dear to me. It's like, what do you say? There's some, like, not so nice expression, but it's like they say, love me, love my dog. You know, like, you want to be friends with somebody, you go pet the dog. So love me, love my children. He's like, always been so, so kind.

To them and so loving.

And so I just want to thank you, Guru Maharaj. You're just the rock. You're tried and true.

It's how many years now, 10, since Guru Maharaj is taking sannyas?

36 years.

He took sannyas when he was 21 years old. My boys are 26 and 22. And I can't hardly relate to that. That commitment that he made to Prabhupada. To give everything. His youth, his strength, his determination, his wealth, his life, breath, his words, everything that he's given to Prabhupada. And we are so grateful that somehow, by your cause's mercy, you have made our good fortune. And we're the recipients of that love and that care. And just please bless us, Guru Maharaj, that we can always love and serve you. In case everyone doesn't know, here, this is Amalachetanya Prabhu. He served many years in Atlanta. He's from Italy. Originally, the very dear disciple of Guru Maharaj. He took care of the Atlantic Kitchen tour. Sometime you can tell that's like somebody that's the kitchen in charge. They have to be determined. So we're so glad he's here.

First of all, I'd like to bring the greetings to you. So I must think.

I don't know.

I have so many things to say. I was thinking about when I first went to India.

I went to visit my sister in.

Vrindavan with my mother because her child was sick. And from Vrindavan then we took a.

Trip to the east.

And now there was 16 in total. I didn't go to India for any spiritualism. Totally the opposite. And I remember that I walked in the Calcutta and it was. I didn't see the Imhaj. But I know somehow I went to Vrindavan. I went to Maya Torre. Hello. There were no Semi answers. I remember that my rest was going to last. We had chanting in Avamar and then we went to Malaya and he came after us and so on. That's where it started. I don't know what. He saved me. He's saving me every day. You could see.

I met Guru Maharaj last year.

I'd done Atlanta. Take rock. It was Thanksgiving. So I read another book. And when he finished preaching the ceremony, he came up to everybody, get up and go around. I said, this is funny. I never see a rule with this yet, you know. And so he started walking around to everybody. So he told me, what's your name? So I said, my name is Cheryl. He said, I. That means surrender to God. So something hit my heart right away, and I said, he's right, because, you know, I know the kind of person I am. So after that, I met him again at Satchavana, had a feast. So I went to march there again. And then I asked him, he would take me as his disciple. And he said, chance, 16 rounds. And I said, okay. And I started chanting. He said, in six months, when I come back, then I will appreciate you. I think it was profound because I feel so comfortable, you know, seeing Guru.

Maharaj doing all these wonderful things.

Get up, come to me. And I never met that woman that was ever come to me. So that's one of the past times.

That I had with Guru Maharaj.

That's why I choose Guru Maura Exile for me, my guru, because of that, you know. And then I went on the Internet and I said, I'm going to check Guru Maraj out. So I went and I checked him out, and he was born the 8th.

Of April and I was born the 6th.

So I said, good, because I understand.

Who he is, his energy.

So that was good for me. So I said, I'm going to take it. So I'm inspiring to get initiation next. Next week. I think it's two weeks from now. Atlanta. Guru Maharaj, I'm so grateful for you that Krishna sent me here, and I'm so happy and I'm grateful to be a servant of Krishna.

I was just thinking how I'm doubly so doubly blessed because I have you in my life. Like the most loving, wonderful, maternal uncle who actually kind of looked after me, inquired about me, just giving me these vibes of even more than my own Guru Maharaj because I'm in your presence more. So that's not saying anything negative. I'm constantly receiving the blessings of my Raj. But it's a double blessing, is My point. So I'm very, very grateful because I.

Inherited a lot of his exalt.

Well, you took that very seriously, because I'm not. It's not his lip service. I honestly have felt that. And sometimes I think when you hear amongst all your disciples, I'm thinking, how does he know me? How does he remember me? I'm nobody. I'm nobody anyhow. But then on top of that, you're amongst all your loving disciples who are so dedicated to you and you just always have time. And that's always touched my heart. That's my new realization about you. That most compassionate, most magnanimous. I was on my way.

I was running with a hard one.

He asked me to make a pie for you. And my husband always promises that I'm going to make a pie for you. So I was running to the store this morning to buy some berries, and I saw this big taxi van. And I was thinking, what the taxi van?

And then there were these orange robes.

In the passenger seat.

She's driving a Beta phenomenon.

I was so excited.

And I'm thinking, I'm gonna get your bearings. So somehow or another, you've just always.

Touched all our lives.

And I was able to go to India, but first time about two years ago, because of all the infectious plotting of all your disciples, you know, just being so in love with India and your mood. So finally I said, okay, I've got to go to India. And the first, almost the very first day when we arrived, well, the first person I saw was Madhavarigalani. It was like being home. She just said, oh, you made it. And then the first little parkland, we went on this to Baki Gandant Kaur's house. And there you were. And you were just beaming. And you just made us all feel around you, my whole family with your arms around us and said, take a.

And it's just time after time with those loving exchanges that not only are you the patriarch of this family, but you're the most. You're my favorite uncle at all. Anyone else want to take this opportunity.

Everybody thinks that we are in the joint family. Everybody comes together and cooperate each other. We came to this world but no, we grew up and when it comes we come to the Krishna consciousness and we think like can we get to do something? But we have to have our spiritual master do all kind of things by the mercy of him. By his mercy. There spiritual master that when you have a real spiritual master, when you get everything and the spiritual master is very merciful and all your distress and all anxiety is all washed away.

And when you get the real Sadhguru.
