Single-speaker lecture (Jaya Pataka Swami) centered on Bhagavad-gītā 9.27: “Whatever you do... do that as an offering to Me.” The speaker explains offering all actions to Krishna (buddhi-yoga/yukta-vairagya), emphasizes practical Bhakti practices (chanting Hare Krishna, accepting prasada, giving charity to Krishna), and uses scriptural and historical anecdotes (Lord Chaitanya, Krishna at Hastinapura, Bhishma, Kaliya) and modern preaching examples (Russia/Siberia, Bengal) to show how association and sankirtana awaken devotion. The talk includes ritual guidance (Vishnu tarpana for forefathers, seasonal observances, prasada restrictions) and encouragement for householders to use their social positions to spread Krishna consciousness.
Ram. Ram. Jam Ra Sa Sam. Jam Ram Sa Sam Sa Speaking Sa Translation by his divine grace, whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and which side are you on? And whatever austerities you perform, do that, O son of Proceed as an offering to me. One to hold his life in such a way that he will not forget Krishna in any circumstance. Everyone has to work for maintenance of his body and soul together. Krishna recommends that one should work for him. Everyone has to eat something to live. Therefore, one should accept the remnants of Krishna's foodstuffs. Foodstuffs are not traditional. Any civilized man has to perform some religious ritualistic ceremonies. Therefore, Krishna recommends do it for me. And this is called Aichana. Everyone has the tendency to give something in charity. Krishna says, give it to me. This means that all surplus money accumulated should be utilized in furthering the Ka Consciousness movement. Nowadays, people are very much inclined to the meditational process, which is not practical at this age. But if anyone practices meditating on ka 24 hours a day. How many hours a day? How many hours? 24 hours. How many? 24 hours, 24 hours. Very good. By chanting Hare Krishna, he is surely the greatest meditator and the greatest yogi. As substantiated by the sixth chapter of Bhagavad Gita as it is in the matter of the most confidential knowledge. Chapter 9, 6 27. Bhagavad Gita. Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, whatever austerities you perform, do that, O son of Kunti, as an offering. How many of you are doing something? Maybe you do something in your life. You have some activity. Who is doing something? Me. Those who are doing something, they should do it for Christ. What is the Bhagavad Gita? Third chapter? Whatever is done for the sacrifice, for the pleasure of the supreme personality and pathetic it. What is an offering for Krishna? So this is the thing. This is so much. We can do many things with this. I don't know if you can do Marambo for Krishna, but if you're a child, maybe you like students. But name each of the each of the little players after different avatars of Krishna. The Ka Avatar just put them all back together. Bhakur Maharaj started setting up a cell at Ujjaing. I just saw news about it called Veda Games. They're trying to write computer games based on Mahabharata so that the children who are too much addicted to computer games, they can have fish technology games. Good luck. Anyway, there's so much out There why not something of Krishna? The idea is we should do everything somehow connected to Ka. We do this with our intelligence we connect it with the intelligent that's why this process is known as buddhi or if we can connect our activities to Krishna then by doing so we will get closer and closer to Krishna. We're reading in the Shima Bhagavata on how when Krishna went to Laraka from Astinapur after the Rajasuya sacrifice, after Buddhist year was established after Kundi offered her prayers after Yudhisthe requested Krishna spend some more time for finally Krishna had to go. He had to go his family and other things he has to get just always in his dinner for so long. So when Krishna left in Judas there Kunti and Draupadi and all the Pandavas and the other Trisi, the widow of the wife of Srimacharya different was keeping his wife different illustrious people, they were there all Ka Also many hundreds of relatives of Krishna distant relatives who were also living in the palace of Astinapur. These ladies came out and they were crying. They were kind that Srishta was leaving but they didn't want to cry because they thought maybe it's not fortunate for Krishna to cry at the time of his departure. So they're trying to stop crying but they can't because they love Ka so much that they can't stop crying so they're wiping their tears away. So Prabhupada said, you see these people, they're not like Alcres, Cointilla, Draupadi and Arjuna and Judith. They were very intimately connected to Krishna, talking with him, eating with him, embracing him. But these ladies, they were not so much close to Krishna they couldn't get that kind of association. But they also loved Krishna. They wanted Krishna to be with them. This is a big problem. Sometimes all the disciples want the guru to spend more time with them but he has to go other places and do other things and see other disciples. So how do you please everyone? You see, that's the difficulty or to speak of Ka he is dagger guru so everybody wants him to believe they were there but then he has to go for one place and things. So Prabhupada said that because these ladies were hearing about Krishna talking about Ka Swaminam, Kirtanam, Smalingam, remembering Krishna Krishna had become very dear to them. This is actually our process. This is what we do. We talk about Krishna, we listen to his words. We remember that by doing that, by knowing about Krishna and hearing about him one that's what he did. We are in a very vaginal position to be part of Sanajan Dharma. Because Bibik Sanajan Dharma has information about supreme personality of Nagya, about Paranishwara. The many religions that are worshipping the Supreme Lord. But they don't have so much information about him. You know, he is generous, kind, loving, merciful, beautiful, charitable, powerful, all knowing, all relation, general things like that. But actually what does he look like? What does he do? You know, something like when Krishna came to leave the first time Kunti Devi offered her prayers. And we have that prayers have been Kunti Beautiful prayers. Beautiful prayers by their illustrious Queen Mother from the empire of the world. Very special spiritual lady. Made so many wonderful realizations. Be humble. He qualified. But what Judish did, came going to his speech, he couldn't. He couldn't speak. He just broke up to Krishna. You got to stay a few more days. Please don't go. And because he had so much love for Krishna. Krishna was simplicated, was Dvacho. Because he has so much love for Krishna, Krishna that he couldn't say that we can put on our soul. But actually Judas can tell that when we will feel so much love for Ka Ka also he will come to us for Allah. He will stay with us. How do we get that? We get that by serving Ka. By doing what this verse says. By eating his prasada. By hearing about him or remembering him. We do that, we start to get tax. And Krishna is great. See, why is it that many people they don't have that attach them for nurse. We can't blame them. They haven't heard about Krishna from a devotee. They heard about Durga. They heard about Shiva. They heard about Skandha or some other illustrious devil, Vishnu Rao. They didn't hear. Sometimes they don't hear about Ka from the proper authority. And here something speculative or wrong interpretation. So that faith in Ka Dasana establishes itself. When Lord Chaitanya was traveling in South India. He went to a place called Sisaila. That's her underproduction. Sisaila is that famous Shiva cheer today. So he went there and there he met Shiva. And the two of them were discussing. What? They went with Shiva and Lord Chetan. They discussed politics. What they have in common. What they will discuss, huh? To whom? Yes, they were discussing about Ka and devotion to Krishna, Lord Shiva's greatest devotee. And now Krishna himself come as devotee. Meeting with Sambu, the great Vaishnava, Acharya, great Mahadeva. They're talking about Krishna. You read in Purana. So many times Lord Shiva is telling Parvaji about Krishna about Vishnu. So they embraced each other and they're sitting and they're talking about Krishna and grave ecstasy. When Lord Chaitanya was going to Sri silent he's not. But in the house of a Brahman, this Brahmana he was a Ram Bhakta. So every there are lots of Ram Bhaktas. In Andhra Pradesh Ram is very popular. Also Narasikadev and of course Balajiva. Many of them they don't know that Balaji is form of Krishna means youth beautiful form of Krishna. With this Ramana he'd always say Rama if he wants to offer you like some Prasadam. Rama Rama. More Rama Rama Rama. Everything was Rama Chaitanya Sarada. You're always chanting Rama. The Brahman Sarayas is my Ishta Devata. He's my worshipable Lord. So why don't you chant the name of Krishna This Ramana he had a habit. He loved the holy name. So he had collected slokas and he said yes, I know that in the Shastra it says Shastra Nama to the beast. That if you chant one name of Ram it's equal to the thousand names of Vishnu. In South India many people like to chant Vishnu Sahasrana. Then they say one time Rama that covers all thousands of Very good. So how many thousands of names of Vishnu. But still some people they rather chant it starts to know. Brother Brahmin also said I also know in the same Padma Purana Shiva told through Durga to Parvati that the name of Ka is equal to 3,000 names of Vishnu. I know that Krishna's name is more powerful. But that's by logic and reason. But my heart is with wrong. Although I know there are many verses that say that Krishna's name is more powerful. But I am too much attached to Rama. Just only his name comes in my mind. So a large amount is okay. God is also a form of Krishna Parasha. Then he met Lord Shiva as he saw. Then he came back again and he stayed at the same Brahminist house take his meal. We Sanyasis were not supposed to cook so much. Sometimes for Krishna have to cook. So sometimes Rehashas are cooking for us. Not raising your hands. These two are here. Thank you very much. Special diet. Low salt, low ghee, Some days low protein, some days low carbohydrate, only non fat frozen yogurt. Hard to cook, easy to cook with lots of ghee and lots of sugar to cook something nice without. But I do take spices Some of our Western gurus are not like spices. But I like Indian gurus. So sometimes we had to sometimes go to eat in the house of the Grihastans. I went with Prabhupada to many Grihasta's house to take Prasada. So like the Lord Chitani, I was going. He stayed again in the same Brahma's house to take this time the Brahmana was chanting. I said, how is it possible you're only chanting Rajana and now you're chanting Vishnu? He said, I don't know. I see. It must be you. I could never change. Even I knew intellectually that it was good to change. But I couldn't change. But by your association, by hearing from you about Krishna and your association suddenly I just could share how you became natural. So I suspect that maybe you're Krishna in disguise or something. By your association, somehow he awakened my devotion for Krishna. Of course, it's the truth that who Archaicanya is, he is Krishna in disguise as his own devotee. So when Lord Chaitanya would go around, he would awaken people's love for Krishna like that. We want that you all become so much Krishnai. And although you are all Maha yogis, Bhakti yogis, but you are disguised as householders and housewives, mothers and fathers and businessmen and engineers and lawyers and doctors and accountants and so many things. But that's all temporary, superficial parties. But your eternal quality is your pure devotee of Ka. And by your association with other people you can awaken their devotion, their dormant devotion to Krishna. You want to. Because that's how without that association it's very difficult for many people to feel that same attraction division. Because you have such a nice association here. People come in that association. They start hearing about Krishna. They start chanting Krishna's holy name. They start eating Ka Prasada start reading Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam, chanting the Vishnu Sahasranam and the Rav Nam and the Ka Naam and associations of words and making a change between. There's a miracle. Krishna is like infection. But it's a good infection. It's like in our body we have the antibodies, the positive antibodies there, the friendly flora and bacteria in our stomach. It's like yogurt. Daidi and Purdue, they help to incriminate. If we don't have it, we cannot digest food. Any of you ever took antibiotics? After taking antibiotics you find your digestion it's very bad because you kill not only the bad bacterias but the good ones, sometimes they want so your digestion becomes really poor. So they give you some acidophilus polygons, different kinds of bacteria cultures to help to bring up. Now they have what they call antioxidants, friendly ingredients in the body which take away all the negative things from our body that the pollution, the poisons and bring them out. We have to oxidize our body. We get rusty, take all that stuff out. Antioxidants. I love sharing some very basic facts. So just some food example that like this Krishna consciousness is a positive. We need to get infected by it. We need to come in contact. That's what Srila Prabhupada was doing as he traveled around the world. He was only a few days in Russia, but he met one Russian youth, gave him initiation, Santi gave him the asanti something, gave him the name, gave him initiation, instructed him. Shamma Sundar Prabhu, who was his secretary, said what I hadn't learned in years. Prabhupada was intensively training him because it was Soviet Union in 1971. And from that one person so many people became Krishna conscious. Now there's lakhs and lakhs of devotees in the former Soviet Union. Super small place like Kazakhstan. Party of Indirat doing some press on thy I was 30 miles from the Kazakh border in the Altai region in Siberia. There were hundreds, maybe 4, 500 devotees, all with tila, some with saffrons, some mostly with white ladies and saris, Russians. Then I asked them, how many of you live in a temple? Nobody raised their head and I asked again if I thought my translator is not translating properly. How many of you live in our temple? I asked two, three times. And then one devotee raised hand and sister Swamiji Maharaj, there are no temples in Siberia, only one temple. There's one temple that's the lowest of the earth, that's about 2,000 miles from here, 2,000 kilometers. And it's a very bleak place. The Siberia has spread out big, big city is scattered and in that temple there's five devotees who live and none of them came from the festival. So in all these other cities they have set homs, oms, Barnaudan, others. But each of those cities there's hundreds of devotees, maybe 500 or more. But they have namhaja, they have bhakti, bhiksha groups, they have a structure where they have. They don't have a temple, but they rent or Holland. They come together. They don't have the money to buy such a big place. There are so many noises. So in the future there'll be some wealthy people who are helped to also temples and all these things. Now they're trying to make temple and mask up. Ever seen the Moscow project? Might have the video? I think they kind of took all my CDs for some reason. Very ambitious project. The government gave them a property worth $16 million in downtown Moscow. There's a lot of pressure from the local religions there in religion to block it. They want to build this Krishna temple for all the Hindus and for all the Russians. Everybody. This one is a really big temple in Moscow or in Russia because although they're friends of India, so they're training like that. So yeah, there's a lot of interesting things going on. But Prabhupada already met the one person. So even a little bit of association can make a big difference. I met a person, he said he wants to obtain 16 rounds with. That's how we get him to say that. Then he told me that so many years ago you came one time you asked me to chant one round one mala of Hare Ka. I started in chant. Now I work to be initiated and doing 16 rounds. One time I met one person said I've been chanting for 16 years one Mala you told me to chat one more. Can I chat more now? We want to give that association. So that's how Bihasa is your generosity. Do everything for me, Janas. Give everything away to me. I said, grihasta, you can invite people to your house and give them prasadam Shigiri as a host, giving your family members prasadam. So that's part of offering to Ka, giving to ka by using your position in society. One of our devotees from the Middle east went back to her village, her small town in Bengal. So in that town here, she's okay. She said, well, her husband is a good job as a manager and all that. And when she goes back there, she's like aristocrat, somebody coming from Middle east, wealthy family, nice house. So normally this kind of people are expected to be materialistic people supposed to have lots of money and be enjoying life. And she comes back and preaches to everybody. Chandra Krishna, she established about eight Devati rickshaws. And there's hundreds and hundreds of people saying I just went there in Mashi Dabad and so many people were glorifying her. One leader of the Communist party came and told me, look at what can I do if a lady like this has got everything materially that people want to have. If she tells us we have to Chantali Krishna that we have me. What can I do? I have the chant. The simple. It can be not so difficult. We just had a very nice program. So many. They all gave me their reports. Teaching is going very nicely. That was. Of course we have already some preaching. But that was boosted a lot by one person spending a little time on vacation to go around and hold programs. You have to go and see your relatives. But while you're seeing their relatives, why not get everybody in that neighborhood to Chandani? Krishna takes a little bit little yet to do fight convinced, isn't it? But like that someone can use their position. We're going to give it up. We're not saying give up your family, give up your wealth, give up your position, give up anywhere else. That is not our giving up is not the process of Bhakti Yoga. It's called Yukta Vairagya. Use it for Ka. Whatever Krishna gives you, whatever you have that Jehosh you use us for Krishna. Whatever you're doing, we're going to be giving away. Shall give something for Krishna for yourself. If you are living in a society, they may come and say we want donation for the local Devi Pooja. This thing something little bit. You have to be a prepared sister social kind of obligation. But primarily you're giving for Krishna any major charity. And thinking how I can. Whether it could be. If you're building a temple in your house, in the neighborhood or do some project like Mayapur or Vatska or whatever ashnasi, whatever we eat that's really important. The month of Dhammadara we were eating really tough. For those who follow give that month. No worries out. Especially if you're a South Indian. It leads also. I think they suffer more. I had to when I was in Malaysia. So we had. We learned how to make dosas using chickpea flour. It's not the same, but anything. Chicken flour, bung dao green dosa yellow losa raggy glossa Tamil nad Month is over. Now you can take your normal dose of aswani. But these are the restrictions the Chaturuma Sri help us Just to remind our favor. It may be very small things. One month Oma. One month on yoga waiting for you. Krishna. We respect these little restrictions and so is Krishna. Love me. I'm eating for you. I'm eating your prasada and I'm eating. What do you want me to eat? We do five days Bhishma Panchak. This year we had 250 devotees. I lose some weight. And last time this year because we had so much dried fruit. But it was very cleansing. Just eat fruits for five days. Go every day to the Ganges and offer Tarpana for Bhishma Day. Krishna has given us his mercy to Bhishma Day he is going to O I was thinking that sometimes in our people think that, well, if I take out Krishna consciousness, I'll lose something. There'll be something in my life which I'll lose. So therefore I don't want to lose anything. Krishna consciousness might be too restrictive for me. Therefore I won't take it out. So Bhishma Deva, he also took a vow for a higher purpose. To be a brother Chain Ajamma Brahmachari name. He was Brahmachari's whole lifetime. Till then he never got married. He was a celibate. Even though he wasn't a renunciate. But he was a celibate. So it's a very big austerity. She has no issue, no children, no grandchildren. Who's going to do tarpona for him? Who's going to do the strat? When you're Grihasta and so your children are supposed to perform pindi or swat for you after you leave your body. They offer tarpana when they go to the Ganga to munas, the holy river. So they offer the tarpona. So we're all offering tarpona for Bhishma Day. Thousands of people, all the millions of devotees, performing Bheeshma Panchaka for the 5,000 year, offering Tarkana to Bhishma because you don't even need it. In one sense, he's already saw Krishna at time of death. He went back to Ka Avatar, the Vasana still anyway, in case of anything, he may not have that kind of faith. But everyone's doing Taipur now for him. Somehow it touched me that Krishna made this arrangement for his devotee. Okay, For Dharma. You didn't get married. No one is there no issue to do the tarpana for you? Okay, so I'm making arrangements. So so many millions of people are doing Tarpana Yoga, Shema Brahamya help you. He preserve what you have and get what you like. So called by his head. He took Sannyas at 59. He had wife and children. It was a big decision, took random prasta 56. So sometimes people also hesitate. Also that if I take some glass full take care of me in my old age. Some feelings are like that. So the Prabhupada he mentioned that this is a concern many People have maybe if I stayed home with my children. I don't think they can treat me so nicely as what you're all treating me. Giving me so much love and affection. I'm not your physical father, I'm your spiritual father. Or like that spirit has no lies. But we're not pushing when people should know us in a in a drastic way. Some people might fit in with this families very unconducing. But if there's a very favorable condition, everybody want the whole family rather to get ready to go fortress and she went Bhagavatam and Pt. Maharaj and Shambhu or Manu. They described that the husband wife are both Ka conscious, they're both serving, they're both spiritually oriented. And they're doing their household duties as offerings to Krishna. That their house becomes like a fortress protecting against Maya. Or if you are a renounced order means you have to fight against Maya alone. So one man battle or one person battle where in a family both are helping each other. Then it's a team effort. So team effort. And Kali Yuga, your star is the memory of Avi Yuga. It's not mentioned. It's not recommended to be renowned to be in the renowned soul. It's rather recommended to be Rehasta. But a Krishna conscious we have still. So sometimes it's sad that one member is Krishna conscious and the other member is not so much what to do? You have to patiently try to give the other partner Krishna consciousness. Give some prasada, pray for them. I mean even Kaliya was against Krishna. But later he got purified. So it may take some time to get purified. Kalila had a rapid. Krishna was dancing on his head. All that pounding from Krishna's feet on his head. He was simultaneously getting purified by Krishna's feet. He was also knocking out the poison from him. He was very envious. Snake Sri very envious. He bumped everyone, even Krishna. So by giving kicked by Krishna's dancing feet so many times. Finally he got purified and all the poison was out. The Nagara Pamirsa praying. Please forgive our husband and bless him. So at the end of the day, Kaliyah became a great devotee. He became a great devotee because he has the footprint of Krishna on his head. Khalil was hiding from Garuda. As Garuda kept trying to catch him. Vrindava and Garuda won't come. That's why he was in Vrindava. Vrindavakrishna tells him that you should. You're not in a fear because now you got my foot. My hoop. I switched it. Footprints on your head. So now you're protected from Garuda. Some people say that he went to Fiji. Anybody here from Fiji? So wherever Kaliyah is, there's no snakes. He scares away all the other snakes. In Fiji there's no poisonous snakes. So there's a deity they made in a Fiji island. Aliya Krishna. So anyway, I hope that all of you continue the very sincere efforts you've been showing chanting Hare Krishna to become very spiritually strong. So that by your association you can make other people ka conscious. Your family members, your friends, work colleagues, neighbors, religions that you come in contact with. Thank you very much. I don't know. All right, first let's do this. There is a Vaishnava way to do j where we offer the Tarkana, we offer the tindi. We do all those things using Vishnu. I'm to trying. That's the way you should do it. Offer Vishnu prasad to the forefathers. The deceased forefathers. Vishnu Tarpana. Those mantras may have all those mantras they can give verse 7. You should never offer prasadam of dinas or non veg. The forefather. Some people do not wear sweets and offer tempers like sending them a package of sin. Here, dear forever father, accept this. We want to send them a package of spiritual blessings. In case they're stuck up in some negative situation, they get a boost. Maybe they're suffering some Supreme Court kids, some heavy disease, some hellish birth. Send them package of Krishna prasada. Everything becomes okay. I become Krishna consciousness. There a big giant family. It well, I'm sure the Brahma didn't say that. Don't go to a nomad program necessarily. He informed us that tradition was like that. They would often stay in their homes traditionally. But in modern circumstances people are more active. They have whatever backgrounds they use. But generally they're not supposed to go on the altar. Usually they come. Sometimes it depends on different families to have different. Suddenly forget you don't have a folio. You can see all the things. I know how it's practiced that they're not so strict in the West. But they don't usually cook or worship the deity when that time. But generally they still come to the temple. Because in some cases where there's some emergency. The Prabhupada said in emergency there's nobody else. Normally they won't do. Because in some of our temples there might have only been one priest. Some temples, maybe it was a lady priest in the west she didn't do the service and the lady wouldn't go on serve. Then he said, well, emergency knows no rules. Firstly, as a nun, have beans and their own adults. They're going to work. People go to work and take off the word. Mainly just restricted from doing things which require one to be very switchy, like king and beauty worship in the house. Just like you have to cook for your children. The children are hungry. Whether you're sushi or unsuccessful. There's no one I know. In some families the husband might cook for a few days, give his wife a break. But some places it's not possible. The husband doesn't want to cook. He also has a job. She has to do one of those things. I say in India, where it's more traditional and there's more touring families, you know, more of a luxury.
