20080709 || Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 3.16.12 (How to respect and not expect) || Śrī Māyāpur, India

A recorded lecture (YouTube) centered on Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 3.16.12 in which the speaker emphasizes Krishna’s compassion—his desire to bring devotees back to Vaikuṇṭha—and the need for humility, respect, and reconciliation among devotees. The talk interleaves scriptural commentary with numerous Rath Yātrā anecdotes from Puri, New York, London, La Paz, and other places, and concludes with practical conflict-resolution advice (mediation, apologizing, asking permission to pose sensitive questions).
Translation By His Divine grace this is Srimad Bhagavatam. Kanto 3, Chapter 16, Verse 12. Jai Vujjaya. Cursed by the sages, these servants of mine have transgressed against you, not knowing the mind of their master. I shall therefore deem it a favor done to me if you order that although reaping the fruit of their transgression, they may return to My presence soon and the time of their exile from my abode may expire before long according to the Prabhupada. From this statement we can understand how anxious the Lord is to get his servitor back to Vaikunta back into Vaikuntha. This incident therefore proves that those who have can never fall down. A case of Jaya Digi is rather fall down. It is just an accident. The Lord is always anxious to get testimonies back to the planet as soon as hearts are open. And it is to be assumed that there is no possibility or misunderstanding between the Lord and the devotees. But when there are disruptions or discrepancies between one devotee and another, one has to suffer the consequences, although that suffering is temporary. The Lord has so thanked his devotees that he took all the responsibility for the torment of things. I requested the sages to give them facilities to return to Vaikunthe as soon as possible. This 13 will report. Even though the sages had been bitten by the serpent of anger, their souls were not satiated with hearing the Lord's lovely and illuminating speech, which was like a series of hymns. So the Lord's. The Lord's speech. He was glorifying the Vaishavas and the devotees. And this is the Canto 12 and the Canto 3, Chapter 166 and during the Tarila Festival today, 9th July 2008, 522nd year of global workout, we're on the eastern side of the Ganges in my Opur Daab, the Lord is accepting that whatever his servitors have done is responsible for. So he's begging for forgiveness for the mistake or the harshness that his secretaries have done in the Gurk Muharras by blocking them from the Dehya Muhammad who are the holy abode of Lord Gohan and the temple of Radha Manhattan. How important it is that cross between all the guests and residents with care, kindness, respect, Melia and the visitor also welcoming them with everything we do as the resident here at my airport, Chandler and Mumbir, then we are in one way or another representing the Lord. It's very important that we represent him appropriately. These verses he's glorifying especially how important to him the Brahmanas Vaishnavas are. Please, I never want to do anything wrong. The Brahmanas I really chop off my arm. You can see even though the Lord took such an humble position. Unfortunately, sometimes I hear complaints some of our workers or someone like guest house receptionist. Someone we're not always treat exalted by Starbucks and Brahmanas that are coming from around the world. So my effort with as much respect as is appropriate in this lesson. This verse is by Lord Vishnu shall be printed out. We know how much he wants to receive all his devotees with grace, respect and love. And this verse said, My servants have transgressed against you not knowing the mind of their master as a servant. We want to do what Vishal will be pleased with. We need to know his life. Here he is revealing how dear to him on the different Vaishnavas and Brahmanas the purple problem is sometimes amongst two Aishtavas there's some disagreement. One of them, whoever is in the fault has to take the consequences. That's also a very heavy statement. I want to Prabhupada was saying that different things, different times. Sometimes they mention how this popular cliche that Sodani Arabian Greeks contend. So that by living together with each other we are. We come just take the devotees as ordinary for granted and take them not really important. But you see here how Krishna takes and all his devotees was a very great importance. And therefore Rama was concerned that sometimes the devotees have disagreements amongst each other. Once in 1977 May, when he was preparing to leave the world. He mentioned that in the presence of my guru, his disciples were very respectful. But after he left, they started to fight. And so many times in the holy image. I was living here at Ayako. We saw so many things. Brahmadepan has to get involved in fire. One time, when Brahmachari came to the temple with his head cut off. But somehow the Jamil lane and the crow pipe was still attached. This bone was coming, holding his head up, fighting the doory of us with weapons. They got the ambulance who comes to Krishnagar where they reattached his head to his body. The Prophet was saying that even my pentas, my disciples sometimes they disagree. They fight once a night. If I told the two left go out and have a fist fight. Just work it out. So Ramani mentioned that the way we can show how much we love it, how much how well we cooperate together. We have that respect for others and don't even expect respect for yourself. We expect respect for ourselves. We don't want to offer respect to anybody else. Frustrated, okay? But asking them please bless. Okay. He cursed them to fall down from their gatekeeper position. They say, please refresh me. Please return them to my presence soon. So the time of the next hour expired. Before long Krishna he does not want to keep his Vishnu. Krishna doesn't want to keep the devotees in the material world. Come back soon. Hear Radha Mananganas just like these. Today he's got a big golden flute. Playing his flute. By showing his beautiful form of this Priya Sakhi baharati. It also attracting our mind. Hopefully everyone will have a desire to serve Ka eternally. It's a radiant festival. The Lord comes into the street to give everybody a darsha to attract them to come back to the spiritual world. Just by pulling the rock, walking with the rock, singing, dancing before the rock. You get so many blessings. He didn't give back to God in his lifetime to spend another service the capital. How many went to the camper rock? Give it. How many were here for Raj Yatra? How many were at 40 for the Rathyatra? How many? Hundred. Puri. Jagannath Puri. I felt really hard to get the rope. One of my disciples once and Puri grabbed the rope and I pulled it so fast. It cut across his belly and pedal in his stomach. Go to the hospital, get stitches. Before I show you here to pull that knot. Pull that rope and believe any tight lady. Keep holding the lung. Other places today it's a devotees for everything. There are here that link and only Iskand devotees with so many members of the public. Also the holidays of Jagannath. They all come to Mudara in Los Angeles. It's known as the muscle beach. Venice Beach. Beginning at all the body noisers wearing their swim trunks and their big muscles. Sometimes they come and also pull the rod with a rod. So use your muscles. Pull jaggernuts on their footing. This year in Nangta we had Piedmont park park that raw bunch of Milwaukee and Raf Yandra. But that was a warm day. Not many people in the park. It was all members of our congregation and devotees from all over the southeast, different parts of the world. They're pulling a charity. That's quite often what we see in Serbia. They had a grand cafe in the forest. Because Serbia is not a very easy place. And some devotees sometimes have a staff that I'm already down doing the radiant. There is safer in the forest, along the Hungarian border or something. But not in the main part of Serbia. At least not yet. There's all the Lord. He's pulling around, going up and now in the both going to the forest. So this year I participate in our ranch. I start from Central park in New York, all along the fifth Avenue down to Washington Square Park. I don't know how many devotees are there. 5,000, 10,000. But all for a big span of Fifth Avenue. The rads are going somehow. In India they always put the big brother first to protect his sister. The little brother follows behind. So we have Balra and Suvar Javannath in the front. And then Subhadra Ballaram in the back. How they say that wild like that before normally changed. Some places they've changed somehow. I was given a chance to chant the Ballarat Rock, which was in this case. And we had to keep moving. It was only two stops. People waiting with Iraq, there were all these nypd, New York Police Department and motorcycles. Some of them have tattoos and having a profile. They pull up with their motorcycles and block the traffic so the routes can go by. Remember what kind of blessing they get. Some ladybugger, policewoman. They kept the roads free so China could go through the red light. Just keep moving and front rod. They had this. Can you be jumping up and down and chanting very enthusiastically. It's always inspiring us because New York is one of the important cities in the world. Maybe the most important financial city. They claim that anyway. They say London second here on this street. Fair enough. Holidays with all the devotees. So it's a very big statement. I don't know if they still have this show once. I'd like to see the New York experience of multimedia show. And in that just to see if you can see everybody have exhibitions in Ironpur Robinson. I wanted to see one that was like. And there in the middle of the New York experience is some photos of the Rath Yantra. This is a cultural statement that New York is open for as many different cultures, different festivities, different things happening. So the high priestess are part of the New York experience. The problem's mercy. Then I somehow flew overnight and got in time in the morning for the London rough cactus. You see, I got to the beginning of the rat at the High park. Goes short route maybe two hours and gets to Vault Garden Square. Not many people on the streets. Hundreds very busy streets. So many people pulling the rocks. Three rocks. They are interesting lot because usually what happens in each Rajakar they have one kirta party on the big. Some kind of big wine. They got like that in London. It was their 40th anniversary. 30th anniversary. They had maybe half a dozen kick down parties between each run smaller but with some hand mics. High tech hand mics like the ordinary two boats. There's so many give times going on. I joined a couple of kick dance. This statue of Hong Konger was packed with people and the 20, 30,000 and the most active. I was busy talking to so many devotees, meeting Godbrothers, God sisters talking with people, tourists from Korea. So many places around the world. So then something came to the time King Prasad was too busy preaching and suddenly came up said there's newspaper people waiting and speak to you. Really happy that in part preaching. So they actually was a trick. I went there. I don't know if they lose it longing to take us out. Just tell you this. So many people and the stairway called their square. The rocks are on the top looking over the square. The base of the stairway a little bit set back. We have a stage and so many different dramas. And I think I spoke for a few years. The Nazis were speaking off and on between the dramas programs. Very excited that somehow all their Ramas are festivals for one day. But in German some after they are four days. And they do it every year at Easter. Good Friday till the Monday after Easter Sunday morning Here in India where I see this nine day festivals like in Nairapuram, Kolkata, where else. Hartpuri, Bhubaneswar, Tintango festival of nine days every day. They're feeling maybe on average about 50,000 people in seven days. Over 300,000 people get to Shabbat. Many different schools people coming every day. And they have youth forum children. Hay folks book skull shadow skull Question and answers by this is not the Swami Mars to do questions and answers. He said this here all the questions time they were asking as many questions. I don't even answer this crazy question. They said this year they're asking good questions. They're going to learn about Krishna. They're going to learn about self realization. He's very happy. The Rav Kyapta that they had in Sopur made a rant there. Four Rath Kantras and one minigram and do it in a morning six to nine. So they finish the Rath yarn and go to the Kamilagara. There's so many rock festivals that are visiting the different miniature festivals. But now after all these, including them they have the encounter around the Kathmandu. They have a rock chapter there. Many youths, many people participating in the big stage program. And Brahma Brahmayan Rama with the big heads like in the Gula Maharashtra's party. Very interesting one day festival. Lots of people. How many? But thousands and thousands. Like this proverb. Somehow he made the radcaster an important festival all over the world. 1968 I joined in the Rathyaptar time Profound King was in Canada as it didn't have a visa for American history. Came in 69. The bigger radiant are going down Golden Gate Park. And somehow Prabhupada he started dancing and danced along for thinking almost more than an hour. Even though he was what, 69. He would be old 73. And Nagar was surprised while he was dancing. One of my godbrothers used to be a man told me a long time ago Shaman Anandha Guru. He told me that he was driving Prabhupada that day back from the Raniatra. Simple Prabhupada, you know, help him get in the car in the driver's seat. Like Prabhupada was just beaming. He was so ecstatic. The Prabhupada turned to him and said did you see how beautiful Lord and thay were dancing amongst the devolis. And you see how beautiful they were. You didn't know what to say because you didn't see that Prabhupada was seeing Mordecai dancing among all of the glories in this rath Yatra in San Francisco 1969. They were born in. That's why Bhagavan was supposed to be a real factor while he was dancing and jumping to the hours Yantra. This math yatra brings people together and internally done it Lord Jagannath. Because I was building a rat card I got here quite quickly. In association with Jaya Nandargabu and the rock art. Today I shaved up and became a producer. May I want to thank you Jagannath and his devotees. When I joined in when I went to Montreal. Jagannatha stood in the present Ramyal temple. But it's dwarfed by the big deities, the ten and small deities. Part of the Tatra ceremony is to sweep the road here at west central Birmingham. And the lord mayor. We call the mayor as lord Mayor. We address him as your worship. He wears a leaf driven with some kind of emblem of the city around his neck with all gold and silver. I don't that can under that jewel is for us very happy. Then they refers to him as he robe. And this was the custom followed by rajakaras and recently smooth riding. Then he got in the bike and he said well, normally we have employees who are specifically pursuing their help. I can usually do this but out of respect for your culture, I'll do it. So he took the broom and he was sweeping. He got in him so much. Normally the pink pain just sweeps it for like a few seconds. And then the ceremonial sweep. He was sleeping for 45 minutes. Going along the rock. Sleeping and sleeping. You must learn feelings unreal good by serving the Lord. So Rath Yatras are something real exchange of culture. Especially transpired to the West. People never seen anything like this. These big rocks in Hawaii. It was that they used to take the rock along some grave they had. Naturally. And they asked Lahui pray Aloha, Aloha. And so there along the Mojave parade they had their khandrawing. That was nationally televised to people over America. Different parts of the world to see Jagannatha. But we pray since they got some crisis in the temple. There's this plaque giving them some award for their broadcaster flow. A couple years ago in La PAZ validity at 4000 meters above sea level. In the city parade of La Paz. They also had the Rancatra. That was considered as a flow to the rat breaking dancing before us. And something else after. There was a time Lord Jambana people were invited. They were cheering, they were clapping. I didn't know what it was, but they liked it. They were clapping and cheering on July 4th. That's Independence Day parade. The Rafa is there every year. That's also national. This year was July 4th and it showed theirs. That's the Independence Day of America from England. And they had a big parade in Washington. The Capitol. Somehow we have a place in that parade with the rock every year. Sometimes you can see picture of the rock with the. Is that the temple building or some monumental building behind in Washington. Hunger by culture. Latviatra is a part of our culture. Lord Chaitanya would dance before the Rath Yatra. His associates had different pure Dan parties. Seven Kirtan parties. Different parts, different sites of the RA. Like in chapter 40. Whenever the Lord is moving, they have people ready to go. After being in bonds. Being very majestic and loyal. They started to hear that. So people would chant Ready Thista Vishal Rishishara. So he has to go on Raviyatra Bhagavata. He lives at old for that 500 years. That's not the reason. The reason is because he's already in the staying in hand. What Jagannath was actually his province of being attacked. And what Rakshasa called Raktabahu Asura. So the Brahmins are a bit afraid to be around there they're being attacked by this demon Ravtaba. With bloody eyes. He just devoured ramen. He likes Brahmin deed. So they took Jabirath on a boat and they came over to the Ganges, hand on the Ganges and brought him to Lianbork. So that's the actual place where it's not different from Jagannath Puri. Then later when Rama Ras killed the demons and they brought Jagannath back. And so we installed our Jagannath. Not really installed. They put them in the new temple. They already saw 10 of this that time. The more recent state government probably call it media department, something like that. They actually came up and filmed it because in their ancient records, it's recorded Chagannath came to landfill. They knew that this was the original place. And now Chagannatha was being established at the new temple. They came up and filled it for the news broadcast in Risa. Here in Mayapur, the Lord takes his cloth. Everybody gets a chance to pull in their worship. This verse says the Lord wants his devotees to get back to Vaikunta, get back to the spiritual world. From this Rad Yatra is a fast track to get back to Bhagavan. This is a great opportunity, people to get back to Krishna. Kampar changed the route slightly, but the road was jam hacked. They put us on a road class. There was no traffic on that road and the whole world, both sides was filled up with people. Four, maybe four, six, nine road. It was also very nice that Ravi got here this year. That we come back to the first point though, that we should be very humbled by how the Lord is taking the responsibility for his servitors and states and use that as an impetus to avoid mistakes, avoid mistreating any other devotees. Trying to understand the mood of the Lord and how dear the devotees are. I think that to a large degree, I don't say we can't improve it to a large deeper in the Guru Purnima festival, trying to improve things. Let devotees meet them as Sandalwood Paul with garments and make them feel welcomed. This is in the mood of the Lord and He wants to welcome all his devotees. Some of you may not have hoped to buy a court, not considering all these factors. But this is the abode of the Lord. Share that Krishna behind the appreciation. If you also take that mood of offering people that come here, helping them. Sometimes people get revealed that they don't know what the what to do, where to go, get some problem or some issue solved. Everybody takes this mood. It Will be very appreciative by the Lord and will make people feel very happy and welcome here in Mayan. Lord. Any questions? Thank you for the wonderful class. I had a question on religion to the first that sometimes is found that there may be conflict between two devotees. And that in spite of one of the best efforts to resolve the conflict. And the other devotees may maintain some harsh tributes towards the end of the service. So how do you. What do you do in that circumstance? That in spite of one of the best efforts to resolve a conflict somehow the conflict still remains. Prevention of course is better than cure. For advice, many different seminars, leadership courses and holy givings. We should try to always say nice things to the holy ghetto. Where after someone we want to make a comment which is criticism suggestion. We should first say some appreciation. You are suggesting then say our other appreciation so that people don't take it personal. If you don't get personal, if you keep it more disconstructive and principle based, I would help them. Some of the senior devotees said you can maybe not have taken devotees position to correct them. There's some they can ask questions. Prabhupada said it's not an affection to answer the question respectfully. Ask a question. My dear Prabhu, I respect you. You're a senior devotee. I look up to you as an example for my spiritual life. Made a doubt in my mind and I can take your permission to ask you might be a sensitive question. You present respectfully properly like that it's not considered an offense. You know the person we put out a squat a little bit. Maybe I can answer whatever the question is. Maybe answer the reason. We got caught in a huge traffic that wrote the Kalman is horrible. Caught in the big game and traffic. I did two programs on the way. Got to the Avipur Rock. It was all in laminated with water. Gave the program there till London. Drove the land tour. Got here at 1:30. Got to take rest at 2. Someone may say why would she run the lights? I was getting here too. It was not possible to get up and forward. And then as I thought I could see that I don't have my van on. The guy who broke his leg playing soccer football. Sometimes I only have an answer. Sometimes I do puja at the samadhi. Sometimes I do it here. They say I'm just here for the first time. I want to give my reports or Prabhupada Samani like that. So may never reply. But whatever it is, remember I went with Prabhupada to leave Prasad Ashram. He's the brother of Bhakti. Siddhartha Sarajur Prabhupada asked him some questions, which are pretty intense. He wanted to develop Bhakti. We don't have those birthplace, but they don't have. Isn't it simple? If somebody can develop, might be no time for the workplace. It doesn't let anybody else who could do it do it. Isn't that offensive? What was the question? That was a pretty intense thing. He said in the answer to the question. It's not an offensive. If you say that pure, sinful, neurofensive, blah, blah, blah. Then you're going with the senior Vaishnava. You're going over that wedding. But it's the question the same mentioned in the cross. If you just ask the question, he gets a reply. But some devotees might feel offended by a question or something. Here in Bengal, not everyone, but some devotees are very expert. Someone comes up to you, Maharaj, may I ask you a question? You won't take offense if I ask you a question? Maharaj, do I have your permission to ask you a question? Is it all right? You know, something's going up, but is sure coding. You're also there. You won't get any curses or anything. Somebody's asked me that recently. But when I first came, people correct liturgy, correct etiquette, correct when they were coming or asking any sensitive question. But you already have a problem. We have a ratchet Bihar neighbor who started this discount result. They teach people how to do mediation. I don't know how many mediators we have in my airport, but there's any mediators who take their help and try to mediate it. Mattea is a teacher of mediators. Third level black pill, or whatever he called it. He was giving a seminar in La Paz, Bolivia, and there were two devotees who hadn't talked to each other for like years. So he wanted to give a demonstration of mediation. He said, nobody can give the details outside. I can give too many details. But he stood a lot easy volunteering and captain heated at some point. Stupid, you know? But he kept it like a God under control. And then at the end they realized that they broke down. Or one guy broke down crying and said, please forgive me. I misunderstood and faced these other things. I left a lot. I don't know if it always works out like that, but that one was really successful. Sometimes you can use this mediation. Why is this humbling? Go and say the mood. If I admit you in some way, why are you feeling sense that you're angry with me or you don't talk to me? Anyway, I can do it this kind of direct way. See if that works. Too much of a chance. Work with biologists. You should came and apologized for them. Must have been pretty embarrassing. Brahma is going after the spiritual world now. If you want to go in any little country, any place, where's your visa? Where's your passport? How many travelers texting him Provinces like a dog barking cuckoo. Don't enter. Marco Polo would never have been around the world. You know those days there was no visa's passport. There is no traveling. Now we are United Nations. But there are so many restrictions. As I became an Indian citizen. Everywhere I go I need a visa. I got like a stack of five passports and filled with visas. Every six months I go through a defense for many years I'll be working in. Where is the United Nations? Some countries like Finland, the country their population is going down. They don't like to have babies so much. So they're offering $5,000. They have baby. 5,000 whatever. Mark zero something to have a baby. Albania, they get 13 months paything. If you have a baby, even insane one. Two parents, one baby. Crazy world. We have paid people $5,000 to handle them. 2 lakhs rupees now 80 without paying the revenue by the world expert. Okay, thank you very much. Thank you for watching our videos.
