This is a transcript of a Jaya Pataka Swami class (YouTube) recounting a childhood pastime of Lord Chaitanya (Nimai) with a mendicant/Brahmin who worshipped a personal Gopal deity. The mendicant repeatedly offers cooked food which the child appears to take as prasada; the host Jagannath Mishra becomes upset but is placated by others and by Vishwaroop (Balaram-like elder brother) who persuades the mendicant to cook again. The child later reveals himself as Gopal and the mendicant sees his deity in person. The chunk ends with a short Q&A where a devotee asks about initiation vows during the upcoming Vyasapuja and whether aspirants can take extra vows; Swami says he has not decided how many initiations he will give and emphasizes seriousness about vows.

So the question is. We have been hearing about the number of initiations you will be giving to during your upcoming Viasakuya celebrations. Although you very humbly and tolerantly accept it as occupational hazards, we are still concerned that aspiring initiates take it very seriously to follow and maintain their votes. Their initiation votes. Can they take extra votes? Considering it more seriously, can they take extra votes? Sushnav?
What extra vow would that be?
