20100102 || Bhagavad Gītā Class (7.21-23) || Los Angeles, USA #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

This is a transcript of a live Bhagavad Gītā class led by Jaya Pataka Swami (Los Angeles). The teacher reads and explains Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7 (notably verses 21–23) emphasizing that worship of demigods yields temporary results and destinations, while devotion to Krishna leads to the supreme abode. The talk expands to warn against false incarnations and stresses choosing the object of worship deliberately. The session includes audience Q&A covering: whether to respond when others offend a home deity, guidance about keeping pets (dogs/cats) in devotees' homes, overcoming fear in sankirtan (public chanting/distribution), and a health prayer request for Mahavishno Goswami. Opening and closing channel/subscription announcements are present.

Chapter 7 text 9 I am the original fragrance of the earth and I am the heat in fire. I am the life of all that lives and I am the penances of all ascetics. I am in everyone's heart as the super soul. As soon as one desires to worship some demigod, I make his fate steady so that he can devote himself to that particular deity. Endowed with such a faith, he endeavours to worship a particular demigod and obtains his desire desires. But in actuality these benefits are bestowed by me alone. Men of small intelligence worship the demigods and their fruits are limited and temporary. Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods, but my devotees ultimately reach my supreme planet. Antabattu Palam Team Tad Bhavati Alphame Dasam Devan Deva Yajo Yanti Mad Babta Yanti Mahamapi Men of small intelligence worship the demigods and their fruits are limited and temporary. Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods, but my devotees ultimately reach my supreme planet. Chapter 7, text 23 Some commentators on the Bhagavad Gita say that one who worships a demigod can reach the supreme Lord. But here it is clearly stated that the worshippers of demigods go to the different planetary systems where various demigods are situated. Just as a worshipper of the sun achieves the sun, or a worshipper of the demigod of the moon achieves the moon. Similarly, if anyone wants to worship the demigod like Indra, he can attain that particular God's planet. It is not that everyone, regardless of whatever demigod is worshiped, will reach the supreme personality of Godhead. That is denied here. For it is clearly stated that the worshippers of demigods go to different planets in the material worlds, but the devotee of the supreme Lord goes directly to the supreme planet of the personality of Godhead.
So devil of worship leads one to the planets of the devil, but the worship of Krishna leads on direct Hindu ka. So in Lingal they say Jai Kali say Krishna that whoever is Kali is also Krishna. Yeah, all these are not confirmed in Bhagavad Gita or any Vedic scripture. So if you want to Go to Krishna then you need to worship Krishna. If you want to go to the branch of the devas then you worship the devas. A courts are Acharyas. They go to different planets for teaching. That's different. Like one day Bhakti Siddhanta says Sati Thakur he is looking out at the gain at the moon. His disciples were surrounding him and the only wise looking at the moon. And then he looked at the disciples, said they are Vahram up. They are materialistic becoming materialistic in the moon of blind. We had to go there and preach to them. So can you understand? We have to go to the loon and Krisha. So this was the statement of Bhakti Siddhartha Shatika. So we don't know where our different Acharya might be in which of the billions and billions of plants they may be a native plant or fishing or there may be renown.
But.
This idea that while we worship the same result is not by converting Radha. Our ka clearly says that if you wish to Devas go to the param of the Devas. If there is a ka, go to the Parma Ka. So we should decide which param guarantee Ocho. It's not that we'll get to the same destination no matter what we do. We will get different destinations depending on exactly what we are doing. And this is I confirmed also like this version. This is a thing that I Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, I need Vishnu I so thank you very much. We have, we have pictures, we have other lenses of table and pen. So it's unfortunately as I said in India there is our worshipers of Jesus. There's also the worshipers of false incarnations, people who claim to be some incarnation on earth. So there was one person he was reclaiming to the a Kalki Alatar. I was told you the Kalki Alatar is not inflicted for over 400,000 years. So you understand this schedule a little bit wrong. And then when they showed him the lower Quran, I said Zayak Sili that the Lord will come in the end of the kaliyah which is 432,000 years after the beginning. So roughly about 427,000 years. Then he said, I'm not the Kalbiyogar. I'm just the person that shows cult me. And later he said he's Amal Bhagavan. He and his wife are the special mother incarnation. So like this he'll give you a Blessing for about 5 lakhs of rupees thank you. Out for two days special blessing. Both the still has zero knowledge if the verify lax if I don't some less about $10,000, $11,000. You can get a special blessing if you want an ordinary blessing. It starts from 10,000 rupees up. So there's these kind of people. Krishna sends some Navami. You're really, really that he comes as the millennium of the yoga. But we have these false incarnations that are coming every year. They're coming not only in every millennium, not over in the early century, not only in every year or month, but every second. And claiming the halal AGU greatly Haldila claims the Shabbat. So this kind of what do you call in India it's called 420-420. That's a field code for cheating chars of this that they are chains evolved. And people want me to say you don't have to call anything. You just get a little donation and bring. You know, you get everything you want. So this is what people want. But Hare Krishna said you want to worship them, you go to Hindustan. You want to worship devils, you go to Devontraim. It's not whatever you do, you get the same result. Chapter 7, verse 23 of the Bhagavad Gita. As it is.
Men of small intelligence worship the demigods.
Okay.
And the fruits are limited and temporary. Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods. But my devotees ultimately reach my supreme planet.
Hello. I want to welcome Sukkur Vadivid. She shares for the second time.
Thank you.
We were just talking about her and so on. She called her, she wanted to come and she walked in the door. So probably say when someone is arguing about them and they walk in, he said, oh, you're going to live 100 years.
Ted.
Welcome.
So Internet 53 people here.
I just said do you have any questions?
What is your. What's your address?
Your stream JPS money?
No, he uses Ishvara's ID on. He does the Spanish transcription while I do the English. And he's got on his window. He's got right now seven people.
Okay, another question I asked already there there.
I guess I read there's a question.
Then you write to Ishwar Maharaj for Spanish dot com. For English you write to China second.
Okay, here's a question from Lila.
Every time, every time.
Okay.
She's from Banos Iris, Argentina.
This is related to the last question she made. I guess she didn't get it cleared yesterday. Because she's asking, please accept my spectral.
Incense, accept my blessing.
If some other person offends the deity that we're serving in our home, should we pay reactions even though we are not the ones we offended the deity. This thing is related to yesterday's question. Just keep it.
If the offense is made by some senior license, then you don't really have anything you can do. So you wouldn't be held responsible. If it's done by some tear or some a junior is worthy that he can object. If you don't object, then you'll be held of responsible.
But.
As I said yesterday, that what I heard didn't sound very offensive. It just sounded, I don't know the background. But the idea that oisha uninstalled deities was like a worshini, a picture. That's how he understand Ayeshini understood this. That doesn't worship is not offensive. That also is some way of worshipping the Lord and he accepts our worship. So I don't really know what offense it being made.
But.
The idea is that almost all deities, the devotees worship them as a type of practice. So that practices are useful for their adverity in ka conscience. They're not saying they're the same as we install deities in Tammu. At the same time they are deities. They are even say the picture, a picture is also sacred. We don't offend the picture of the Lord or look of the Lord or anything connected to the Lord. Some. Some senior rational they may have that attendance. We just really have to follow our guru. As far as final thing, this came a personal question which shouldn't really be asked on this public farm. And I can only answer in a general way.
What is your opinion, Guru Maharaj, of having pets in our in our home and to what extent we should take care of them.
Pets, dogs, chickens, mice.
What kind.
Of cats are supposed to clean? They live those houses.
Cats.
Yeah. And they're known to curse pregnant women to have miscarriages because they know that they can see on the shell bloodborne that she's going to have a baby. So you know what? If a baby is born, they don't get the same affection David will get. So like that catch is somewhat a dangerous matter.
Once I invite my home one senior the body. And when he came, I used to have a cat. And when he entered to my home and he saw a cat, he said hey Acharya, you have to not allowed to have a cat in your home. You have to throw it away. And I was very attached to that.
Cat.
But since at that moment I was like with that question in my mind, you know, what to do. Especially with cats. I also have dogs also thinking that's.
Why I asked him.
Now I don't have face, but I want to know what is your general opinion about it?
Chickens.
Yes. Roosters.
Fighting car.
The cocks. The big, you know, the male. Yeah. To wake you up.
My family, they used to have a rolled rooster and make a fight.
Oh, fighting.
Fighting. In general, the. The animals are to check outside the house. Like if someone has a farmhouse, they kill dogs outside house. Generally they wouldn't be kept in the house because they're not considered to be very clean. And they look at the shot, then I can have sense of control. They're going to think, oh my, I can eat that. So it means all clean and throat. You shouldn't lust over the food. So like that. In general, they're not considered very clean, but like this, they're quite common. Prabhupada said it's okay to have outside the house, but inside the house is a bit much and very sweet. Asante will have tet. Ah. I don't know how they separate their pets from their video.
Many devotees are able to do advantage. Many devotees train their pets so that they don't reach altar or kitchen. I mean, I know many devotees, Mother Bhakti and Raman Tirtha. Myself, I have dogs and they never went to the kitchen or to the altar.
Technically the dog touches you take a shot. See, it's one. The danger also is like a bargain to think about the animal at the time that oh, who's going to take care of my God? He would take death as a dog. Because the last thing is not Krishna was a dog. Like there's a lady in Atlanta, she left $140 million or something to her cat. It was the richest cat in the world. And she had lawyers who were acting on behalf of the cat. They were out there. They didn't cheat the cat at all. You know, when the cat died, then the money would be dislodged the different charities. So I know she was saying at the time that she said her best friend was for K. So this says, this verse says if yours is dealers, you'll burnt a dealer. If yours should Christian, you'll find a Christian. If you were an animal, you think this is an animal. So there is some risk. That's why generally want, you know, and they have their use. We use animals and in our farms it's quite common. We have died chickens or you don't eat the chickens, they use them to eat the elephants eat the insects.
Around.
The farm, case the dogs and tell us somebody's approaching cats to eat the lions, stuff like that. But usually they got kitten in the house. Lord Chaitanya, he had a dog when he was a little baby. He was like three years old, a baby, a toddler. And his mother said oh. I said can't be a dog in the house. You're growling, it's not allowed. So then it's not that. Okay, look, he lives outside. I think I pet outside. So she took him and pet filthy dog outside. Then he went to bed again and said don't worry, I'll watch your filthy face. But filthy. Later the mother came to wine. So she was very healthy using poltergeist and money. And mother took her fluffy. Veti had been hardly like Chaitanya as a coward three year old, four year old child. So later as a plothi started gentle sitting down. Paris, Pariso Parijo parijul. And rolling around a big crowd gathered on India silver. And there's something unusual. Holy crap. Gathers unusual. So they gather around us anyway chanting hello, hello, hello, Hello. Out from his body came a light and spiritual everything which was until we want to be the dog of the Alishamas in this way as the Vaishnavas. Take it aside, Russian and welcome to Shaitan. Okay, next question.
I lost it. I don't have the question anymore.
It says how can we conquer the fear of Sankirtan in order to get over the initial hump where the false ego creates anxiety, even physical symptoms like shaking or staggering when it comes to food distribution. Well, on preaching or any verbal.
While on preaching.
While I'm preaching. Essentially.
That'S from bucking Kelly in Gainesville.
Kelly and Ginz, are you there? I'm standing up because of the doctor at my rehabilitation center said I should stand up as much as possible. And so I stand up very quiet. He said standing up is a prelude to walking unassisted. So as far as your question, that sounded almost like ecstatic sentiment, her standing on him. Maybe I just took ecstasy. Usually if we watch others do Sankirta who are not afraid, you know, we get a little more confidence. We don't have to be so self conscious about what we're doing. It's quite all right. Now just go up and be yourself. You're a friendly person. You came out and talked to me and you go out and just talk to people. The other thing that San Kidna is not a special thing. You have to get all psyched up. You can go out and talk to them and they like it better if they're more informal and they're friendly. Most of our successful Santa devotees, hello, how are you? Where do you come from? You know, just state of conversation, all your friends, such and such, all your family. And then they have the dog pat what they're going to say, depending on what answer they get. So sometimes if you know the mantras, then initially you can see Nirtras. It's a little easier because. And then after a while you learn to just be yourself and speak to people you don't have to if the 9th century or Solomon would encourage you. Afterwards I start training them. Unfortunately, some people, they're not very much suited for Ashanti time. So there are other services they can do, like DDR. It's also you can pitch your mind. Why are you so afraid? Why? What's the worst that could happen? Someone telling, no, I have no time, I'm busy, go away. What's the big deal? The fact that you have approached someone, that you have told them about Krishna, that if they hold the book, probably said that purify is. And I mean it teaches you to be humble. Because I think Ali devotee on Sanctum gets refused. I was asking some devotees in ale years ago, so one was doing Sanketan to the Western people. So he said one of the returning would take a look 19 on 20 and say no, no, no. And then I was talking to someone who was teaching to the Russian Armenians. He said about 10, but half to the books, half to the youth. I talked to someone who was speaking the Latins and he said that 19 or 20 tables. So it's also who you are teaching to. Ashanti are normally more pious. They're more likely to take their book. I know there was one lady in New Orleans years ago because they had all these restrictions and she was doing ascent kick on in the airport. But no one had taken her book. She was a whole day and no one take a look. Everyone was so busy running to get the next light. She said, risha, please, please let me give one person, at least one person in a book. Next she stopped one day, Sir, I have a nice look for you. She said, no, today is the worst day of my life. The very worst day. I don't want to talk to anyone. It's the worst day. But sir, especially here, doctor, people have bad days. So what happened to you? Why is today the worst day? He said, all my life I've been living for My mother. I'm married. I got a job, I went to college. Everything to please my mother. Today my mother died. Oh, I'm feeling so bad. It's the worst day of my life. What do I have to live for without another? She said no. You see, your mother didn't die. She's still alive. The rig here is Bhavad Gita, Chauvin Gita, our second chapter where it says that the soul never dies. The soul transfers from one body to the next. The mother is still alive. She just gone to some other planes.
Really?
She still like. Yeah, sure. Oh, how much is it? Book? Oh, are we taking a donation or like to give? It's $10 already. Oh, sure. Okay, so I get $10 book. So like that we need nine people.
And.
A little bit you feel nervous whenever we went out on Sanking because you never know what's going to happen. That's quite natural. But once you get into it, you feel that you're doing something. You're meeting so many nice people and some people stop and they ask questions. Younger you try to give them the look or you ask them to come to our program. Because if we spend too much time with any one person, that will not be so good. But anyway, that's up to you how long you want to spend with each person.
And.
You should just. I don't see any reason why you should feel so much fear. Thank you Kelly for trying. What time is it? Oh, cookie time. Any last question?
I got a comment Groomer.
Prabhu just.
He called and ask you request ship. You can just pray for Mahavishno Goswami. He was in the Bombay hospital. He got sick yesterday. So he was yesterday really ill yesterday. And he asked if you can pray for Mahavisho Goswami. Actually you got email also Mahavaraja told me from secretary.
So let's all pray hard. Krishna, Krishna, Krishna. Pray that his health leaders started. He would be with us of our time.
