The following is a Sri Krishna Caitanya book compilation given by His Holiness Jaya Pataka Swami Maharaj on April 27, 2023 in Dallas, Texas. USA.
Today's chapter is titled Ram Das Vishwas Accompanies Raghunath Bhatta to meet Lord Chaitanya in Nilachal under the section Pastimes with Jagdananda Pandit and Raghunath Bhatt Goswami. During this time Raghuna Bhattacharya, the son of Tapan Mishra, gave up all his duties and left home intending to meet Sri Chaitanya Mahav Mahaprabhu. 13.9 accompanied by a servant carrying his baggage, Ravana Bhatta started from Varanasi and travelled along the path leading through Bengal. So it said that Raghnathacharya was the son of Tapan Mishra.
Again we're stressing how we have Shafar certain health, Acharyas and children.
Again and again we are stressing that how our Ghyastha followers should have Acharyas as children.
Here we see how Tapu Mishra, his son was on Acharya.
Here we see that how Tapan Mishra had his son as Raghunath Bhattacharya who.
Was learning dear Acharya.
Who was a very dear Acharya, a dear devotee of Lord Chaitanya, Shri chaitan chitamita antare leela. 13.91 In Bengal he met Ram Das Vishwas who belonged to the Kayastha caste. He was one of the king's secretaries. The words Vishwasha Khanera Kayastha indicate a secretary or clerk belonging to the Kayasta caste. Kayashtas were usually secretaries to kings, governors or other important persons. It is said that anyone working in the Government Secretariat at this time was a Kayastha.
So Kaistas are very influential and they are very good tasks.
So the Kayashtras were very good, were very influential and they were very good managers. 13.92 Pasha Ram Das Vishwa was very learned in all the revealed scriptures. He was a teacher of the famous book Kavya Prakash and was known as an advanced devotee and worshiper of Raghunath. Lord Ramchandra commenting on the word Parama Vaishnava Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur says that anyone who desires to merge into the existence of the Lord cannot be a pure Vaishnava. But because Ram Dass Vishwas was a great devotee of Lord Brahmachandra, he was almost a Vaishnava. In those days, no one could distinguish between a pure Vaishnava and a pseudo Vaishnava. Therefore, Ram Das Vishwas was known as the Vaishnava. And because he worshipped Lord Ramachandra.
Soma who wants to worship and to serve, to bring Rajayanah and consider our Vaishnava.
Someone who wants to worship, who wants to serve. Supreme personality Godhead is called as Vaishnava is known as a Vaishnava.
Although most people want to enjoy their.
Senses Although most people want to enjoy.
Their senses and they do good works.
And they do good works.
To advance their sense gratification.
To advance their sense gratification.
Karmites perform good works.
Therefore they are known as Karmis or performers of good work.
When someone understands that they're not the body and they want to realize themselves, they're known as jnis.
When someone understands they're not the body and they want to understand themselves, they're known as jnanis.
I didn't realize.
When someone actually understands impersonal Brahman, they're known as Muktas. Out of millions of Muktas, one who is a pure devotee of Vishnu is known as Advoca. Ram had announced everything. He was going to see Lord Jagannath. While traveling, he chanted the holy name of Lord Rama 24 hours a day. Some people chant the name of Vishnu and some people chant the name of Ram.
Hare Chante, Hare Krishna Hare Rama Maha Mantra.
Especially mentioned in the Kali Yuga is the name of Chain Hare Krishna and Chain Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare.
Hare.
When he met Ranad Bhatta on the way, he took Raghunatha's baggage on his head and carried it. So he was immediately inclined to render service to Ramana Bhatta. This is a good sign. Prepping for 95. Ramda served Raghunath Bhatta in various ways. Even massaging his legs. Raghunatha felt some hesitation in accepting all this service.
I serve the Lord. He has to serve the Lord.
Naturally a devotee he wants to serve the Lord doesn't know how he can accept service from others.
Serves the Lord so that naturally he accepts service from others.
If one is that spiritual master naturally can accept service from others. So this Ragnar Bhatta was not the spiritual master of Ramada's Vishwas So naturally he was feeling some hesitation in accepting of this service. 13.96. You are a respectable gentleman, a learned scholar and a great devotee. Raghunath Bhatta said, please do not try to serve me. Just come with me in a happy mood. Sri Chalachtamvita Antalila 13.97 Brahmo Nero Shivayi Moroni Jodharamu Ramdas replied, I am a shooter, a fallen soul. To serve a Brahmana is my duty and religious principle. So Ramdas Vishwas was declaring how that in a Varnashram it was his duty to serve a Vaishnava to serve a Brahman. Sri chadanjitamita anta leela 13.98 Therefore, please do not be hesitant. I am your servant and when I serve you, my heart becomes jubilant. Saravasua Vaishnava naturally makes the heart jubilant.
Because Krishna is pleased.
Because Krishna is pleased. When Krishna is pleased, the soul becomes pleased. Has Ram Das carried the baggage of Ragnar Pratta and served him sincerely? He constantly chanted the holy name of Lord Ramachandra day and night. Shi chatanjatanata antibila 13.0 puri gone.
Traveling.
In this way, Ragnath Bhattas soon arrived at Jagannath Puri. There he met Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu with great delight and fell at his noble feet. He mentioned that that Rana Bhatta soon arrived at Jagannapurpuri. He was walking from Varmasi following the Ganges to Bengal and then to Orissa to Puri. So by foot. Naturally it would take him many days.
But as he was playing a life with our Lord Chaitanya.
As he was walking with his mind fixed on Lord Chaitanya, the time passed very quickly.
You know, my car, my plane, my train and it takes a few hours.
Nowadays we go by car, by plane, by train. It takes us few hours to reach. Few hours a day.
But here on his own, when I.
But here walking for Banaras, it may have taken him a month, some weeks or some weeks.
So what he said he soon reached.
But he says he soon reached Puri. So it's far relative fell straight as a rod at the lotus feet of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Then the Lord embraced him knowing well who he was.
Here. I said, you know what, there are reasons that you're sick here.
It said that he offered him obeisances like a stick.
Also known as Dandava.
That is also known as Dandavas.
It means by straight Omniscience.
And it means prostrate obeisances.
Like this Lord Chaitanya Chai licked him up and raised him.
After he paid obeisances like this, Lord Chaitanya picked him up and embraced him affectionately. 13.102 Raghuna offered respectful obeisances to Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu on behalf of Tapan Mishra and Chandrasekhara. And the Lord also inquired about them. So we see this custom. People ask you, how are you?
And people I'm all right, very good, thank you.
People say, oh well, I'm all right. I'm okay. I'm good.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Here.
So here the obsessions were offered on behalf of Tapir Mishra and Chandraya Chandrasekhar. And the Lord asked about them.
How are they?
How are they? Are they Kushal? Are they happy? Are they?
Well.
This is part of our culture.
So this is part of our culture. 13.103 it is very good that you have come here. The Lord said, now go see the lotus eye. Lord Jagannath, today you will accept Prasadam here at my place.
So this is how one of the ways that devotees exchange love.
So this is how one of the ways the devotees exchange love. Lord Chaitanya was giving Prasadam to Raghunatha and he was accepting. 13.104 the Lord asked Govinda to arrange for Raghunatha's accommodations and then introduced him to all the devotees headed by Saroop Damodar Goswami.
Look appropriate. I should say so.
La Chaitanya was seeing that that Imran Bhatta would have an appropriate good place to sit. Then he introduced Ragnathatta to all the devotees.
So this is what I say. Our devotees are very personal in their divine.
It is important to see how devotees are very personal in their dealings.
Started by Lord Chaitanya.
And this was started by Lord Chaitanya. 13.105 Thus Ramanath Bhatta lived with Shri Chaitanya Mahatma continuously for 8 months. And by the Lord's mercy he felt increasing transcendental happiness every day.
His Savannahs.
Association Vaishnavas naturally feel increased happiness in Lord's presence. And Raghunathatta became one of the six Goswamis in Vrindavan. Shri Chaita Ramaka Antalila. 13.106 he would periodically cook rice with various vegetables and invite Shri Chalanya Mahaprabhu to his home.
Lord Chaitanya.
So we see how Rana Bhatta was also exchanging his love. His Affection with Lord Chaitanya inviting the Lord to take Prasadhan at his house. Sri Chalan Chitamita Antavila 13.107 Raman Bhatta was an expert cook. Whatever he prepared tasted just like nectar. So his BQ was very high. BQ 13.108 Sri Catan Bhatabhu would accept with great satisfaction all the food he prepared. After the Lord was satisfied, Raghunatha would eat his remnants. You get the personal remnants of Lord Krishna or the spiritual Master or some great Vaishnava.
It's called as Mahaprashara.
It is called as Mahaprashara. Actually Jagannath Puri. Jagannath Prashad is offered to Bimla Devi. Then her Jagannath Prashad is also known as Mahaprashad. But here Laguna Dharatha was offering Prasadam to Lord Chaitanya. And what was left by Lord Chaitanya was taken by Riverpatta As Kochishtha was Maha Mahaprashada. 13.109 Ram Dash When Ram Das Vishwas met Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu the Lord did not show him any special mercy. Although this was their first meeting.
There's some secret meeting here.
There's some secret meeting here. Why Lord Chaitanya did not show special mercy to Ram Das Vedra Antilillah 13.110 within his heart, Ram Das Vishwas was an impersonalist who desired to merge into the existence of the Lord. And he was very proud of his learning. Since Sri Chaitanya Mahprabhu is the omniscient, supreme personal equal, he can understand the heart of everybody. And thus he knew all these things. So a real Vaishnava never wants to merge into the Brahma Jyoti into the.
Existence of the Lord.
Into the existence of the Lord. Service.
Chanting all around and doing service. Lord Chaitanya as superstar understand.
Although he was constantly chanting, he was serving Lord Chaitanya as a super soul to understand his real intention.
One person is a Gyani.
It is explained. Out of millions of Karmis, one person is a Gyani. Out of millions of Gyanis. Actually one is liberated.
Out of millions of liberated souls. Mutas.
One is out of millions of souls. Muktas is one.
Vaibhav.
So this Ram Das Vipra was a Gyani.
But he.
Disguised himself as a Vaishnava. Ram Das Vishwas then took up residence in Jagannath Puri and taught the Kavya Prakash to the Pattanaka family the descendants of Bhavananda Rai. Thus ends the chapter entitled Ram Das Vishwasa accompanies Raghunath Bhatta to meet Lord Chaitanya in Nilachala under the section Pastimes with Jagdanda Pandit and Raghunath Bhatt Goswami.
Another hair of Vasiles Aralana Vajra Swara.
So now we are hearing all the pastimes of Rajnath Bhakta Goswami.
Not all of them. Some pastimes. So actually I was Radar Visas Shambhali, please read me Descendants of Ram Ram and the Rai.
Actually this Ramadas Vishwas shouldn't be teaching the descendants of Ramandarai.
Ramanandaraya. Because Allah Rai's descendants all my sons.
Because the Ramandari's descendants are all Vaishnavas.
