20230503 || A Woman places her foot on Lord Caitanya’s Shoulder || Dallas, US

This transcript records a May 3, 2023 Dallas lecture by Jaya Pataka Swami (YouTube upload) commenting on a chapter of Sri Caitanya-charitamrita (chapter 14) about a woman who climbed the Garuda column and placed her foot on Lord Caitanya's shoulder to see Lord Jagannath. The speaker emphasizes the woman’s intense eagerness for darshan, Lord Caitanya’s appreciation of that eagerness despite technical offenses, and theological reflections on divine ecstasy and separation (the mood of the Gopis, Vrindavan vs Kurukshetra). The talk encourages hearing these pastimes with faith and love to cultivate devotional attainment.

Advantage the following is a Sri Krishna Chaitanya book compilation given by His Holiness Jaya Pataka Swami Maharaj on May 3, 2023 in Dallas, Texas, USA.
Not two hours around one knee.
So today we are continuing with the compilation of the Sri Krishna Caitanya book and today's chapter is entitled A Woman Climbs the column of Garuda placing her foot on Lord Chaitanya's shoulder to see Jagannath under the section Lord R. Caitanya Mahaprabhu's feelings of separation from K.A. catanya. Suddenly a woman from Orissa, unable to see Lord Jagannath because of the crowd, climbed the column of Garuda, placing her foot on R. Caitanya Mahaprabhu's shoulder. So.
This woman was so here she gave up that she was oblivious to the fact that she was standing on.
So this woman was so eager to see Lord Jagannath that she was oblivious that she was standing on R. Caitanya Mahaprabhu. R. Caitanya charitamita Leela, chapter 14, text 25 when he saw this Chaitanu Mahaprabhu's personal servant, Govinda hastily got her down from her position. R. Caitanya Mahaprabhu, however, chastised him for this purkuit nation of Khalil. Because Garuda is the carrier of Lord Vishnu, he is the supreme Vaiava. Therefore, to touch his body with one's feet or to climb the column of Garuda is certainly a vaiava aparag, an offense to a Vaishnava. The woman was also offensive to Ka by putting her foot on the shoulder of Sricetanya Mahaprabhu. Seeing all these offenses, Govinda very hastily made her get down.
Allah Shaitan he or made Kalinda are getting her lady down.
So Lord Chaitanya forbade Govinda from getting the woman down.
I think of appreciating her eagerness to see Lord Jagannath.
Appreciating her eagerness to see Lord Jagannathanichaytamida Leela, Chapter 14, Text 26 Krishna Darshandhara Krishna Shivashu Bidhan Hindu Sri Murthike Caitani Mahaprabhu said to Govinda, o Adivasya, uncivilized man, do not forbid this woman to climb the Gueruda Stamba. Let her see Lord Jagannath to her satisfaction purport Masla Prabhupada for another explanation of the word Adivasya, refer to Auntie Lila. She checked in a chat amita Auntie Lila Chapter 10, verse 116 Purport to Anti Lilla Chapter 10, verse 116 Shiva Bhakti Minotapur explains that the word adivasya refers to one who has been living with another for a very long time. Gorina was addressed as Adivasya because he had been living with R. Caitanya Mahaprabhu for a very long time, whereas other devotees who were mostly new would come and go. In effect, the Lord told Govinda, since you have been living with me for a long time, you should not be foolishly disappointed in this situation. Bring all the food to me and you will see that I can eat it.
And let a woman see Lord Krishna to her full satisfaction.
So Lord Chaitanya was in the mood to let the woman see Lord Krishna to her full satisfaction.
He didn't mind her songs reading.
So he didn't mind facilitating her worship to Krishna. Chapter 14 text when the woman came to her senses, however, she quickly climbed back down to the ground and seeing Shite Caitani Mahavirhu immediately wept at his lowest feet for forgiveness.
My Lady, I shall hear the Sri Lanka Jagannath that she was not conscious that she was doing ranks and Lord Shetanya.
So the lady was so eager to see Lord Jagannath that she was not conscious that she was doing an offense to Lord Jagannath, to Lord Caitanya, to Lord Caitanya.
But once she realized, she offered her obediences and prayed for her illness.
But once she realized, she offered her obeisances and prayed for forgiven. Seeing the woman's eagerness, R. Catani Mahaprabhu said, lord Jagannath has not bestowed so much eagerness upon me. The woman was so eager to see Lord Jagannath that she forgot she was offending the feet of the Vaishnava by climbing the column of Garuda. She also neglected to consider that by putting her foot on the shoulder of Sitanimahapuru she offended the Supreme Personality of Godhead. These are both grievous offenses that displeased the Supreme Lord and Vaishnavas. She was so eager to see Lord Jagannath, however, that she committed all these offenses. Obliviously, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu praised her eagerness. He regretted that Lord Jagannath had not bestowed such great eagerness upon him.
Lord Chaitanya he was seeing the good qualities in this lady the Lord Chaitanya.
He was seeing the good qualities in this lady.
And she had so much eagerness to see Lord Jagannath.
Because she had so much eagerness to see Lord Jagannath.
I guess he was buying so many vaults. But she was doing what Lord Chaitanya saw good quality.
So in this you could find so many faults in what she is doing. But Lord Caitanya found good qualities. Chapter 14, verse 29 she has fully absorbed her body, mind and life in Lord Jagannath. Therefore she was unaware that she was putting her foot on my shoulder.
I saw Zara and seem like Jagannath she was not aware she was.
So. The lady was so absorbed in seeing Lord Jagannath she was not aware of committing the offenses.
Allah Chandra said that Lord Jagannath not giving me such eagerness.
So Lord Caitanya was saying that Lord Jagannath has not given me such eagerness. Chapter 14, text 30 Alas. How fortunate this woman is. I pray at her feet that she favor me with her great eagerness to see Lord Javanna.
Allah Jaiden is praying with this simple lady to help her eat in us.
So Lord Chaitanya is praying to this simple lady to have her eagerness to see Lord Jagannath. How.
Supreme Lord sees how the devotee.
This shows how the Supreme Lord sees how the devotee is eager to serve him.
Of baby just half heartedly crying.
So Sri Prabhupada was giving the example that if a baby is just half heartedly crying rather than that.
Lots of.
Martins, the mother may not give him much importance.
What is a baby really cries intensely.
What if the baby really cries intensely? Wow Mommy. Wow Mommy.
She dropped everything. Come running. What?
She dropped everything. Come running. What? What? What happened?
So like that of a very eager Sir Krishna he come once again we're not very eager so he may not come.
So if we are very eager to serve Lord Krishna, he would come. But if we're not eager, he may not come. Chapter 14 just previously r. Caitanya Mahaprabhu had been seeing Lord Jagannath as Krishna the son of Maharaj Nanda in person. Lord Chaitanya was having Jagannath Darshan and he would see Jagannath as Krishna directly. Krishna Vishta Chitto Gopi Bhavhu Sharva Bharatv Krishna Darshan Becoming fully absorbed in that vision, Sri Caitanya Mahapuru had assumed the mood of the Gopis. So much so that everywhere he looked he saw Krishna standing with his flute and to his lips.
Lord Chaitanya The.
Lord says Lord Chaitanya was seeing Krishna with a flute to his lips. Everywhere he looked, Everywhere he looked he.
Was completely in a mood of Govis.
He was completely in the mood of the Gopis Radharani. After seeing the woman, the Lord's external consciousness returned and he saw the original deity forms of Lord Jagannath, Subhadra and Lord Balaram.
Lord Jagannath he would see a Sonara Gandha.
So when Lord Chaitanya would see Lord Jagannath he would see the son of.
The lady, climbed on her shoulder Then he returned to his external consciousness.
Sorry, what was the first part?
When the lady climbed on the shoulder O Lord Tritanna.
When the lady climbed on the shoulders of Lord Chaitanya he came to his external consciousness.
And saw Jagannad, Bhalladev, Subhan.
And saw Jagannath Baladev Subhadramida Anjalila chapter 1434 when he saw the deities, Lord Caitanya thought he was seeing Krishna on Kurukshetra. He wondered, have I come to Kuruk? Where is Vrindavan?
When the Gobis Radarani saw Ka in.
Kurukshetra when the Gopis and Radharani saw Ka in Kurukshetra I want to take.
Him back for him now they wanted.
To take him back to Vrindavan. Lord Chaitanya grew very much agitated like a person who has just lost a recently acquired jewel. Then he became very nervous and returned home.
And I wore out in all haste. He wanted Ka.
In the mood of the Gopis he wanted Krishna in Vrindava.
This lady climbed on his shoulder drawn to the external consciousness.
This lady climbed to his shoulder, brought him to the external consciousness.
He thought, while I reached Kushatra while I'm not a Vrindava.
Then he thought, now I've reached Kurikshetra, why not in Vrindavan?
And.
I became very agitated and became very agitated. Krishna Birohe Prabhu, Mahabhav Chakra Bhumir Umar Bhushuina Srichitanya Mahaprabhu sat down on the ground and began to mark it with his fingernails. He was blinded by tears which flowed from his eyes like the Ganges Lord Chaitanya was experiencing Mahabhara highest ecstasy. Highest ecstasy. Hare Krishna of separation of Lord Ka Caitamicharita vita Leela chapter 14, verse 37 I found Krishna, the Lord of Vrindavan But I have lost him again who has taken my Krishna? Where have I come? Purport Dashiva Tapa These are the feelings of Adharani First Lord Caitanya felt that he had been taken to Vridavan where he saw Ka's Rasa dance with the Gopis. Then he was brought to Kurukshetra to see Lord Jagha, his sister, his Subhadra and Lord Balaram. Shri Caitani Mahaprabhu lost Vrindavan and Krishna the Master of Vrindavan. At this time Caitanya Mahaprabhu experienced Divyan Maya transcendental madness and separation from Krishna. At Kurukshetra Krishna displayed his opulence, whereas in Vrindavan he is in his original position. Krishna never goes even a step away from Vrindavan. Therefore, Kurukshetra is less important for the Gopis than Vrindavan. Although the Bhogis who worship Krishna and others may prefer to see Lord Krishna and Kurukshetra along with Subhadra and Balaram, the Gopis want to see Krishna Vrindavan performing the Rasa dance with Shimati Radharani. R. Caitanya Mahaprabhu showed by practical example how one can cultivate the mood of Radharani and the other Gopis in separation from Ka. Devotees absorbed in this mood do not like to see Ka anywhere else but Vrindavan. Therefore, R. Caitanya Mahaprabhu lamented, I found Krishna in Vrindavan and now I have again lost him and come to Kurukshetra. Unless one is a very highly advanced devotee, he cannot understand these intricate feelings. The author of Sri Caitana Charitamita, however, has tried to explain this Dgyn Mata as far as possible and it is our duty simply to appreciate it as far as possible. Therefore, the author has made the following Request in verse 11. Translation to the verse My dear readers, simply try to hear this description with faith and love that will help you understand transcendental ecstasy and at last you will achieve love of Godhead very easily.
This is past times, O Lord Caitanya.
These pastimes of Lord Caitanya, they are.
Very difficult to understand.
They are very difficult to understand.
Father. One just hears them and appreciates them with faith and love.
But if one just hears them and appreciates them with faith and love, that.
They can achieve Lord Krishna very easily.
And they can achieve. When R Citani Mahaprabhu dreamed of the Rasa dance, he was fully absorbed in transcendental bliss. But when his dream broke, he thought he had lost a precious jewel.
Since on time Lord Chaitanya was fully absorbed in these Vajra past times.
So sometimes Lord Chaitanya was fully absorbed in these Raja pastimes.
Have I still conscious and hell and 12 conscious.
And then it became half external conscious and half internal conscious that.
He would feel oh, I lost Krishna.
And then he would feel oh, I have lost Krishna.
I have feel.
And he feels separation at that point. Chapter 14 text 39.
Thus R. Caitanya Mahaprabhu would chant and dance. Always absorbed in the bliss of transcendental madness. He carried out the necessities of the body. Such as Such as eating and bathing merely out of habit.
Lord Chaitanya was absorbed in his consciousness.
So Lord Chaitanya was absorbed in his transcendental consciousness but could be compared as transcendental madness. At that time the material necessities of the body were performed out of habit.
And the consciousness remained fixed by Ka.
And his consciousness remained fixed on ka. Chapter 14 Text 40 at night Lord Caitanya would reveal to Saurabh Namida and Ramananda Roy the ecstatic feelings of his mind. Gauranga Vila smarana mangala stotra text 70 by srila bhaktivino thakur Translation to the verses in Lord Jagannath's temple By the side of the column of the sitting place of Garuda the pure hearted Lord Chaitanya happily stood looking upon.
An old.
Woman overwhelmed with loving devotion saw Jagannath by climbing on the shoulders of Lord Caitanya May that Sachi's son eternally travel on the path of my memory. Verse by Bhatviyatotv this verse by Bhaktived.
Thakur A type of meditation on Lord.
Chaitanya is a type of meditation on Lord Caitanya.
So he was saying to us whenever faculty's es what's going to talk about?
So he was desiring to always remember Lord Chaitanya and this lady's eagerness to.
See Lord Jagannath our Lord Chaitanya. This lady's eagerness How Lord Chaitanya was.
Facilitating this lady's eagerness to see Lord Jagannath.
So the outcomes of this chakra is.
So the essence of this chapter is something that Bhakti no Thakur wanted to remember.
Allah Krina.
He was.
Sometimes somewhat absorbed in Ka pastimes.
So Lord Chaitanya he was sometimes so much absorbed in Ka's pastimes that.
He was.
Thorough to the Awara divine awareness.
So that it was a type of Divyaman a type of transcendental madness.
Love of Krishna in Love of Ka this chapter explained Hyrule Guru.
So this chapter explains how he got different moods.
How he would explain his consciousness in the nighttime the Sultana.
And how he would explain his consciousness in the nighttime to Sauruk, Damodar and Ramanandaroi. Thus ends the chapter entitled A woman climbs the column of Garuda placing her foot on Loy Chaitanya's shoulder to see Jagannath under the section Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu's feelings of separation from Krishna. Lord Chaitanya was so much absorbed in Krishna that he was not aware of material things going on.
So something that literal for us to understand.
So this is something that is difficult for us to understand.
And.
After you are saying.
On terrible situations and naturally we are concerned with all our material situations but we should understand that there is a perfectional stage where one is completely absorbed in Lord Ka and eventually how we can attain that Hare Ka.
