Hare Krishna Dear devotees, today we will continue with the reading from Shri Chaitanya Shiksham of Bhachidananda Bhakti Vinod Thakur chapter 1 and today's today's subtitle is Worship of the Lord is Essential at an Early Age and four Reasons for Endeavor in Bhajan Pratham Bhaisai Ganadar Sangha Sanghe Isar Bhazan Atavasakanadhar Samayati Jatiton Translation Right from the beginning years when knowledge arises Worship of the Supreme Lord is essential from the time when the knowledge of man arises. From that very time onwards, it's auspicious to be engaged in pleasing the Supreme Lord. One who is sufficiently intelligent should use the human form of body from the very beginning of life, in other words, from the tender age of childhood, to practice the activities of devotional service, giving up all other engagements. The human body is most rarely achieved and although temporary like other bodies, it is meaningful because in human life one can perform devotional service. Even a slight amount of sincere devotion service can can give complete perfection. Therefore, while in material existence, a person fully competent to distinguish wrong from right must endeavor to achieve the highest goal of life. As long as the body is stout and strong and is not embarrassed by dwindling. For now we enjoy the pleasures of the world. Later in old age we we will please the Lord. We will please the Lord. If we think like this, nothing nothing will happen. Time is scarce. From the day the knowledge of the duty is known. From that day onwards it's necessary to take to the practice of of pleasing the Lord especially. Human life is very rare and unstable. After many, many births and deaths, one achieves a rare human form of life which, although temporary, affords one the opportunity to attain the highest goal, highest perfection. Thus, a sober human being should quickly endeavor for the ultimate perfection of life as long as his body, which is always subject to death, has not fallen down and died. After all, sense gratification is available in the most abominable species of life. Whereas Ka consciousness is possible only for a human being, it is impossible to tell when death will happen. It is wrong to think that the Practice of pleasing the supreme Lord cannot be done during childhood. We see in the history that Dhruva and Prahlada received the grace of the Supreme Lord at a very young age. If a human being is able to do any work then if the human endeavor, they can do that work. Is there any doubt about this? Especially what can be practiced from an early age gradually becomes natural behavior.
Prahad here I put in a soul by his father.
So Prahlad, he was put in a school by his father, the school of the materialistic teachers. And.
Whenever possible he was reaching to the other students.
Whenever it was possible, he was preaching to the other students.
Even though their parents were demons.
Even though their parents were demons, he taught them.
He taught them that they should chant Hare Ka.
That they should chant Hare Kaja.
So it's not that one cannot preach until you're old.
So it's not that one cannot preach until you are old.
As soon as you understand, you can preach.
As soon as you understand, you can preach.
Achintya Chaitanya's son adav is only 12 years old but he distributes books every day.
Achintya Chaitanya's son Madhav is only 12 years old but he distributes books every day.
So.
Finally one is encouraged to take out Ka consciousness even at a young age.
So normally one is encouraged to take up Ka consciousness even in a young age. In a young age.
Sorry, but healing drugs, an idea, denying it, Godly. But it's where you come to understand between right and wrong.
So the human world may be godly or demonic but it's very easy to understand what's right and wrong.
We start do things with your own free will.
You can do things. You can start to do things with your own free will.
The animals, they have to. They follow their instincts.
The animals, they follow their instincts.
You can't tell a lion not to be a lion.
You can't tell a lion not to be a lion.
Human being, all kinds of things, but.
You can tell a human being all kinds of things.
And they can adjust.
And they can adjust.
So it's rare to receive a human birth.
So it's rare to receive a human birth.
Human birth gives us the opportunity and.
The human birth gives us the opportunity to render devotional service.
And sooner or later we're going to leave the body or go through the death.
So sooner or later we are going to leave the body and go through death.
It just helps. And devotee was Hirsam Krishna conscious books he started to preach.
So he just heard A devotee. He got some ka conscious book and he started to preach.
And his whole vision of life changed.
His whole vision of life changed because Bhagavad Gita because he was reading the Bhagavad gita.
So he asked for initiation.
So he asked for initiation from me. From me.
I told him that he was on the death row.
So he was on the death row.
And saw since he was following all the.
Since he was following all the.
Principles, I said I could initiate him.
I said I could initiate him.
What one one thing he should do.
But one thing he should do.
He should apply for pardon.
He should fight for the court for pardon, right? So he should fight in the court for pardon.
He was on death row, but he.
Was on the death row.
There was a system that if you applied for prime and the drugs approved it, you had to life imprisonment.
So there was a system. There is a system. If you are in the death row, if you apply for the pardon, if the jail keepers approve it, then you can get life imprisonment.
So he was preaching, he was willing to die. He just preached because while his swimwell.
He was willing to die. He was preaching because that was his free will.
He preached to the prisoners, the jail keepers, to everybody.
He preached to the prisoners, to the jailkeepers, to everybody.
And jail keepers appreciate your help.
The jail keepers appreciated him, gave him a positive recommendation. And gave him a positive recommendation.
I got a pardon.
He got a pardon.
From death penalty to life imprisonment.
From death penalty to life imprisonment.
He was preaching in life. He was preaching to all the prisoners.
So now in his life, he's preaching to all the prisoners and all the jail keepers.
We want to preach. Human form of life gives us the.
Opportunity the human form of life gives us some opportunity to render devotional service. To render devotional service. Foreign Translation Four reasons for endeavor in Bhajan the first, in order to please the Lord, nothing is unobtainable. For devotees who have satisfied the supreme personality of Godhead, who is the cause of all causes, the original source of everything, the Lord is the reservoir of unlimited spiritual qualities. For devotees, therefore, who are transcendental to the modes of material nature, what is the use of following the principles of religion, economic development, sense gratification and liberation, which are all automatically obtainable under the influence of the modes of nature, we devotees always glorify the lotus feet of the Lord, and therefore we need to ask for anything in terms of dharma, kama and kama, arta and moksha, religion, economic development and sense gratification. These are described in The Vedas as three varga or three ways to salvation. Within these three categories are education and self realization, ritualistic ceremonies performed according to the Vedic injunction, logic, the science of law and order, and the various means of earning one's livelihood. These are all external subject matters of study in the Vedas, and therefore I consider them material. However, I consider surrender to the lotus feet of the Lord Vishnu to be transcendental. There are four reasons seen as to why people endeavor according to various situations. Fear, expectation, sense of duty and attraction. Those who worship the supreme Lord, fearing hell, lack of wealth, suffering and death, are excited by fear and worship the Lord. It should be said that those who fear for the sake of prosperity in the world, praying for material pleasure, worship Hari, are driven by expectation or hope of material enjoyment to worship the Lord. But there is such a pure happiness in the worship of the Lord that at first they engage in it out of fear or expectation. And finally many people abandon fear and hope and become attached to pure worship. Those who can worship the Creator with gratitude are driven by sense of duty and engage in such action. Those who are, even though not motivated by fear, expectation or sense of duty, naturally love to worship the Lord and move to do so by attraction. The instinct by which the mind rushes towards any object as soon as seeing it before any reasoning is called Ra or attraction. Those who as soon as they think of the supreme Lord, the instinct of attraction arises in their heart. They worship the Lord according to Ram, Attraction.
Salt, present motivations for worshiping the Lord are given here.
So different motivation for worshipping the Lord is given here.
Motivation may be of fear.
A motivation may be of fear.
Afraid of hell.
One is afraid of hell.
And hell.
When we have sense gratification.
I have some desire or material things.
So one we have sense gratification, some desire for some material things.
Things are here someone might feel attraction to worship the Lord.
So here someone may feel attraction to worship the Lord. It's called raga, which is called raga? Hare Krishna.
Different people are motivated by different things.
So different people are motivated by different things.
And like Krishna, he engages the people in his devotional service.
And Krishna, he engages people in his devotional service close to him, and thus they become close to him.
So how different people are attracted for different reasons.
So we have different people attracted for different reasons.
Actually, if one is attracted spontaneously to.
Serve the Lord, actually one is attracted out of spontaneity to the Lord to serve the Lord.
That's most auspicious.
That's most auspicious.
In a large Case I thought the Nazi so lifestyle was going and teaching him.
What said Gumaj Prahlad Case. In Prahlad's case they thought that there must be a Vaishnava who's teaching him.
Prahlot. Swallow. Shoot him on sight.
Kill him. Prahlad's father gave an order. If any Vaishnava goes near to the school, shoot him on sight. Kill him. Gave an order. Encounter of that.
Of course. Allah. He had this knowledge before and there are eight none of us coming by and sneaking to him.
So because Prahlad had this knowledge from before and so nobody was coming by and speaking to him. So.
Demons are against anybody who teaches Krishna consciousness.
Demons. They are against anybody who's teaching Krishna consciousness. Preaching Ka consciousness.
In this situation where feeling a duty to tell people about Ka.
In this situation he was feeling the duty to tell people about Krishna.
Who are objecting.
People are objecting.
Then you have to be clever harder present it.
Then you have to be clever in how to present it.
So this is different reasons why someone may teach. We are attracted to teach and not Krishna.
These are some of the different reasons one may be attracted to preach about Ka.
Another person in Singapore.
You were told that there was another.
Person in Singapore who had a death penalty.
Who had a death penalty.
Death. What? He got permission to attend the Bhagavad Gita class.
But he got permission to attend the Bhagavad Gita class.
By attending that class and by attending the class, his whole vision changed.
His whole vision changed.
He's no longer afraid of death.
He's no longer afraid of death.
He realized that.
He realized that he didn't die. He didn't die.
He leave the body.
He leave the body and he would continue living.
So he asked the jail givers, when you kill me, can I have a Balaji on my chest?
So he asked the jail keepers, when execute me can can I have the Bhagavad Gita on my chest?
They agreed. Why not?
They agreed. Why not?
So he left holding Bhagavad Gita to his chest.
So he left holding the Bhagavad Gita to his chest.
With Sangham only in my eyes he challenges all these gel preaching nectars.
So his holiness Chandramoli Maharaj was telling me some of these Jain preaching nectars.
We have many devotees. We want to use our human life to please the Lord.
We have many devotees and we want to use our human life to please.
The Lord Shivakta Thakur. He is going through this methods of devotional service.
So Srila Bhaktived Thakur, he is going through these methods of devotional service.
Very methodically.
Very methodically.
He says some people and motivated right here.
Some people, they are motivated by fear.
I had a dream once where someone was. It wasn't a dream. Someone came and said I was taken. I was very afraid.
So someone came and confessed to me that I made some mistake. And I'm very afraid.
I'll go to hell.
I'll go to hell.
Yamadutas don't torture me.
The Yamadutas would torture me.
Help me. Help me.
Help me. Help me.
So some people may be motivated by this fear.
So some people may be motivated by this fear.
Some people are very good. Krishna. I do not so much I owe him something.
So some people they attracted to. Like Krishna has given us so much. So I owe him some or someone.
May be spontaneously attracted to serving the Lord.
Someone may be spontaneously attracted to serving the Lord.
Whatever our particular motivation is.
Whatever a particular motivation is, you should understand. You should understand that how serving the.
Lord is the real purpose of human life.
How serving the Lord is the real purpose of human life.
Hare Krishna.
