The following is a Sri Chaitanya Sheik Shamita class given by His Holiness Jaya Pataka Swami Maharaj on January 5, 2025 in Sri Ramayapur India.

Hari Om Tatsat Hare Krishna Dear devotees, today we will continue with the reading from Shri Chaitanya Shikshamrita of Srila Sachidananda.

Bhakti Vinod Thakur is translated by Jayal.

So this is translated by Jai is translated by Jayaradhakrishna among the five types of knowledge discussed, Sensory knowledge, Indriyart Jnana, Ethical knowledge, Naitika Jnana, knowledge of God, Ishwara Jnana. These are secondary relating to the body, mind, condition, soul and related to society and thus incomplete and insignificant for the soul. The knowledge of Brahma Gyan is merely a sub branch of knowledge of God Ishvaragyana. It is beneficial in some cases of Sadhana, but often not beneficial. Although these forms of knowledge are considered knowledge, they are inferior. Pure knowledge Shuddha Gyan alone is the truly worthy knowledge as it is the companion of devotion. The attachment to descriptions of transcendental qualities of the Lord and that the Bhava Bhaktas have in the pure knowledge Shuddha Gyana which is the subject of that attachment.

To Krishna, that's Sudha. Yeah.

So the knowledge about Krishna, devotion to Ka that is Shuddha Gyan and that.

We should all desire reading of Sinod.

By reading Srimad Bhagavatam Chaitanya Charitamrita that gives us transcendental knowledge.

Krishna's personality.

See, the other knowledge are not about Krishna's personality and.

So they will learn that knowledge and they get bewildered.

So people learn that knowledge and they get bewildered.

I thank God that Ka has more permanent personality.

I think that Krishna has no permanent personality.

Worship.

The impersonal truth and they worship the impersonal truth.

Other knowledge, the knowledge of the senses.

Other knowledge like the knowledge of senses, knowledge of moral, other Brahman, knowledge of Brahman that's called Brahma Gyan. The knowledge of Brahman is called Brahma Gyan. Other forms of knowledge like knowledge of Brahman is called Brahma Gyan as mentioned in Haribhakti Sudodaya 3.11, 12 and 16. For a person devoid of devotional service, birth in a great family or nation, knowledge of revealed scriptures, performance, performance of Austerities and penance and chanting of Vedic mantras are all like ornaments on a dead body. Such ornaments simply serve the concocted pleasures the general populace. A person who has the pure characteristics of a Brahmana due to devotional service, which is like a blazing fire burning to ashes, all the sinful reactions of past lives is certainly saved from the consequences of sinful acts such as taking birth in a lower family. Even though he may be born in a family of dog eaters, he is recognized by learned scholars. But although a person may be a learned scholar in Vedic knowledge, he is not recognized if he is an atheist, therefore giving up envy from his heart. An intelligent man accepting the Shastras, knowing the purport of the Shastras is the worship of Uttamashloka should worship with determination.

Is the Lord.

You see, we don't have any spiritual purpose than just living to die.

So you see, if you don't have any spiritual purpose, then we are just living to die purpose.

But if you are Krishna conscious, then you die to live.

But if you are Ka conscious, you die to live.

To live.

To live. Without knowledge of the Lord's pastimes, narrating his qualities and hearing and chanting is not possible. Even his normal medium form, the Lord's immeasurable qualities made it impossible for Yashoda to bind him initially. Later, although he remained immeasurable, he accepted smallness before Bhakti, smallness, smallness before Bhakti and thus allowed himself to be effortlessly bound by Yashoda. All these pastimes of the Lord are recognized only through pure knowledge. Shuddha Gyan. Therefore, considering the unity of Baba Bhakti and Shuddha Gyan, impure knowledge is criticized in devotional scriptures as mere knowledge. Shuddha Gyana is not termed as Jnanakanda. Jnanakanda consists only of four other types of knowledge previously mentioned. Indriyarta, Jnana, Naithik Jnana, Ishwara Jnana and Brahma Jnana. This should be abundant by devotees.

Sudha Gyan, Bharati.

So Sudha Gyan and Baba Bhakti are glorified because they give.

An understanding about Krishna's activities.

Because they give one the understanding about Krishna's activities.

In this area. They are colleagues in the material world.

Being criticized in this paragraph. The knowledge in this material world is.

Being criticized because people think that if they have this knowledge is so beneficial.

Because people think that if they have this knowledge, it's so beneficial.

But if they don't have the knowledge, Allah Krishna's.

But if they don't have the knowledge about KA's activities, it's all useless. It's all useless.

It doesn't yield permanent knowledge because it.

Doesn'T give one any permanent knowledge. Three Divisions of Knowledge There is another subtle consideration here. Knowledge has three divisions. Jignyasa inquiry, Sangraha collection and Asvadana relish. For the Bhava Bhakta's inquiry and collection are previously completed previously during Sadhana Bhakta through the relish of the meanings of Rmad Bhagavatam. In the life of a Bhava Bhakta, only the relishing aspect of knowledge remains. This relishing aspect shines brightly even after liberation in the eternal abode. But in the material conditioned state, it remains limited to a certain extent. For the liberated soul, it attains the state of Vaikuntha, a place where the aspect of knowledge in the form of relishing to the Supreme Lord is present. That place is known as Vaikuntha by learned scholars. The experience of Suttagyan, Shuddha, Gyan, pure knowledge, Vairagya, detachment from material objects and bhakti, devotion to the Supreme Lord coexist in the heart of a devotee. These elements are not separate, they are one and the same. In places where devotion is practiced, pure knowledge, the realization of the Supreme Lord and detachment acts as the servants to devotion in devotional life. Shuddha Gyan and Vairagya, Shuddhagyan and Vairagya naturally arise and serve the cause of Bhakti. There's another subtle consideration here. There's another consideration here. Subtle consideration here. In spite of Baba Bhakta's only relishing aspect of knowledge remains. This relishing aspect shines brightly even after liberation in the eternal abode. But. But, but. But. In the material conditioned state, it remains limited to a certain extent. For the liberated soul, it attains the state of Vaikuntha, a place where the aspect of knowledge in the form of relishing The Supreme Lord is present without restriction. That place is known as Vaikuntha by learned scholars. The aspects of Shuddha Gyan, pure knowledge, that is Ashwadhana relishing, which is the Pareshanubhava realization of the Supreme Lord. Virakti is the detachment from material objects unfit for devotion and Bhakti which is attraction to the Supreme Lord. This simultaneously exists in the heart of a devotee. They are one and same, one and the same in places where Bhakti is accepted as a substance. In those places, Shuddha Gyan, which is the realization of the Supreme Lord and Vairagya act as servants to Bhakti. Sudha Gyan and Yukta Vairagya are not independent subjects in the consideration of Bhava Bhakti in places where they are absent. It should be known that there is no Bhava in those places. However, the signs of Bhava that appear are merely Bhava abhas, semblance of Bhava or Kapata Bhav duplicious Bhava. This will be discussed under the fourth stream.

So we already discussed Bhava Bhakti.

Bhavti is the last stage of Vaidhi Bhakti.

Bhava Bhakti is the last stage of Vaidya Bhakti. Bhava Bhakti is preliminary love of Ka with ecstatic symptoms.

And so after Bhavati there's Brahma Bhakti.

So after Bhava Bhakti there is Prema Bhakti.

And that railroad has another eight levels.

And that Prema Bhakti has another eight levels.

So we run devotees first days after this age. Why do our teeth that they take the years?

So the first date. So the first stage after initiation, that is Vaidi Bhakti. That may take many years to reach Bhava Bhakti.

For everyone it can be different.

For everyone it can be different.

If you really cry out to Ka with your whole heart, you can achieve Bhagavakti very quick.

So if you cry out full heartedly to Krishna, then you can achieve Baba Bhakti very quickly.

It may take many years or it.

May take many years. How.

Fixed up you are?

It depends how fixed up you are. So you go from Bhajana Kriya, Anarthanirriti, Nishta Ruchi, Asakti Fire is Bhava Rati until you reach. Until you reach Bhava Bhakti or rati.

So I fear some place where There is no Bhava.

I fear that in some place there is no Bhava. So it appears that in some place there is no Bhava.

If the sign that Bala exists that either Lord or Vas.

If the sign of Baba appears, it is either Bhava Baas semblance of Bhava or Kaplata Bhava.

Duplicious Bhava.

Duplicious Bhava.

The first means cheating.

Duplicious means cheating.

We went in India in Calcutta before we had Mayapur.

So in India, in Kolkata before we came to before we had Mayapur, we.

Were invited to one light member's house.

We were invited to one life member's house.

O son, he stood out. Krishna, you have come. O Krishna. All of this Krishna, you have come.

All of sudden he stood up. He said O Krishna. O Krishna, here you have come. O Krishna, here you have come.

Somehow you can sense this is duplicious Bhava.

As a devotee, somehow we could send this is duplicious Bhava.

He wasn't really feeling any ecstasy.

He wasn't feeling. He wasn't really feeling any ecstasy.

One by one all his life.

So one by one the devotees left.

Cold. Others.

Maybe I and couple others were there. Maybe everybody of his audience left his babble laugh.

So we don't know his sinus exists.

So we don't know this kind of people exist who are imitating Bhava.

Actually I stand real Bhava.

They don't actually experience real Bhava.

They're trying to be trying to cheat the devotees.

They're trying to cheat the devotees.

They are good actors.

Good actors.

Eyes are not.

As mentioned in RMAD. Bhagavatam 3.25 27 says by not engaging in the service of the modes of material nature in the service of the modes of material nature, but by developing Ka, consciousness, knowledge and renunciation and by practicing Yoga in which the mind is always fixed in devotional service and to the supreme personality of Godhead, one achieves my association in this very life. For I am the supreme personality and the absolute truth.

The normal knowledge is of the three modes.

But if one practices Bhakti Yoga, then the line is always fixed up.

If one practices Bhakti Yoga, then the mind is always fixed up and so is allow us. Feet of the Lord serving the lotus feet of the Lord.

Krishna says, here one achieves my association in this very life.

I am the supreme personality, the absolute truth.

For I am the supreme personality, the absolute truth.

Son, we can achieve ka in this very life.

We can achieve ka in this very life.

We have to be fixed in serving the Lord.

We have to be fixed in serving the Lord.

Especially when we may serve the Lord Vaidhi vakti by rules and regulations.

So initially we can be serving the Lord through vaidibhti through rules and regulations.

Gradually, after doing.

Time, gradually, after some time, by doing.

Original source, everything else more spontaneous, completely spontaneous.

The devotional service becomes more spontaneous, completely spontaneous. And then we achieve the raga nuga bhakti.

And actually it's vati. Vaidhi bhakti is mechanical.

Initially in the vaidi bhakti it's a bit mechanical.

You get a taste of later on.

You get a taste later on.

Someone thinks I don't have a taste. I think give up.

Someone might think, I don't have a taste, let me give up.

It takes a while to develop a taste.

It takes a while to develop a taste.

Someone has to practice. It's not everywhere yoga very dedicated.

So one has to practice bhakti yoga very dedicatedly.

Krishna is saying, one achieves my association in this very life.

Krishna says, one achieves my association in this very life.

In this life.

In this life.

But.

Many years, it may take many years.

Say 40 years old, a little another till 80.

So maybe you start at 4 years old. It may go up to 80 or Psalm is 25. Someone might be 20, may live up to 75. Someone may live up to 100.

It takes a while to develop all these symptoms.

It takes a while to develop all these symptoms.

It has to happen naturally.

It has to happen naturally.

We don't want kabhata bhakti.

So we don't want kapa to bhakti or kapa to bhava. This is duplicious bhava, which is duplicious bhava, duplicious ecstasy.

So you know, we have to practice Krishna consciousness.

And.

It takes 20, 30 years it may take.

So we have to practice ka consciousness. It may take 20 or 30 years. It may take and.

Irregular.

So to get a taste, you may get a glimpse.

Sometimes that just inspires a lot.

So that's just to inspire you on.

Stunning in the taste. That's the stage of Ruchi Bhakti.

So actually to subtly get a taste. That's the stage of Ruchi Bhakti.

And that comes after Nishta Bhakti.

That comes after Nishta Bhakti. Steadfast, steadfast devotion.

Stop. Krishna. Thank you. My associated in this very life.

Krishna is saying. You can get my association in this very life.

After 30 years. 40 years.

It doesn't mean tomorrow it could be after 30 years. 40 years.
