20251223 Śrī Caitanya-śikṣāmṛta Class in Śrī Māyāpur, India #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

YouTube recording of a Śrī Caitanya-śikṣāmṛta class given by His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Maharaj on December 23, 2025 in Śrīdhara Māyāpur, India. The speakers examine the concept of Rasa (devotional relish) drawing on Thakur Bhaktivinoda, Śrīla Prabhupāda translations, and scriptural references (Bhagavad-gītā, Lord Chaitanya). The lecture explains Rasa as the tasting-capacity arising in surrendered devotees, details its fourfold components (vibhava, anubhava, satvika, vyabhichari), contrasts it with material/impersonal feelings, and offers practical encouragement about devotional practice and timelines. The session closes with prayers for a devotee (Brajeshwar/Gurdas), a communal chant, and routine announcements.

Guru Maharaj's message is your advice Advantage the following is a Sri Chaitanya Sheikh Sharmita class given by His Holiness Jaya Pataka Swami Maharaj on December 23, 2025 in Sridhar Mayapur, India.
After a long break, we are continuing with Sri Chaitan Shiksha Mrta Ba Sachidan and the Bhakti vi not Thakur 7th Saptam Bristi Ras Bichar 7th shower Ras which are analysis of the Melasana Madhya Rastatva which are okay ma3 sorry.

So I'm telling them that we should stress the Rasa.
So I'm telling them that we should stress the aspect of Rasa. That's that's what Baki Nata Thakur has said. Second stream the analysis of Rasa is of worship alone. 2.113-1233. In all respects, Rasa directed to the Lord is very difficult to understand for those with no devotion. Those who have totally dedicated themselves to the lotus feet of Bhagavan can continuously taste Bhakti Rasa, that which is the root of profound astonishment, which is beyond conscious contemplation and which is relished in the heart bright with Shuddha Sattva. The combination of ladini and samvit shaktis is called Rasa. Bhava Rati, on the other hand, is that which the wise person with undivided intelligence contemplates in the consciousness the seed of conscious thoughts by means of deep impressions of previously performed Bhakti. Srila Prabhupada's translation of the above mentioned verses. Those who are not devotees can never achieve the benefits of real devotional service. For them, the subject of devotional service is always very difficult to understand. Only persons who have dedicated their lives unto the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead can relish the real nectar of devotion. When one transcends the status of ecstatic love and thus become situated on the highest platform of pure goodness, one is understood to have cleansed the Heart of all material contamination. In that pure stage of life, one can taste this nectar. And this tasting capacity is technically called Rasa or transcendental mode.
So how many would like to taste the Rasa?
So how many would like to taste the Rasa?
So how long would like to go beyond a static worship to the stage of.
So how many would like to go beyond ecstatic worship to the stage of Prema? So. Very good.
I speak to the right audience.
I'm speaking to the right audience. You see.
So this tasting capacity is completely transcendental.
You see, this tasting capacity, Rasa is completely transcendental.
And only if we're surrendered to Krishna can we begin to understand it.
Only if we are surrendered to Krishna can we begin to understand it.
And how? By relating with Krishna, our devotional service, we understand that there's a special happiness.
How relating with Krishna by devotional service we can understand his special happiness.
Tyler Waves first star is actually a secret.
Trying to please Krishna is actually the secret.
Radharani Krishna came to us. Sri Chaitanya Ravu and one of the third reason was to understand why do Radharani enjoy more than Krishna?
One of the third reason that Krishna came as Lord Chaitanya is to understand why is that Radharani is enjoying more than Krishna.
So Lord Chaitanya taught us that we can serve Krishna in satiration.
So Lord Chaitanya taught us that we can serve Krishna in separation.
Now we are separated.
We don't have. We have so many reasons to be separated. We are separate. Separated.
The reality is we are separated.
The reality is we are separated.
So one I think while Krishna was here I got engaged in devotional service.
So one may think that while Krishna was here I could have engaged in devotional service.
But Lord Sujanna's teaching that when Trisha is down here, we can serve him in separation.
But Lord Chaitanya's teaching is that when Krishna is not here, we can serve him in separation.
This is a higher. This higher method.
This is a higher method.
And I'll say.
What's that?
Yeah. So ah. Like this we want to taste astray.
So we want to taste the ecstasy.
We're trying to yield the happiness to Ka. We'll automatically feel happiness.
If you try to give happiness to Krishna, then we will automatically feel happiness.
He is the supreme enjoyer.
He is the supreme enjoyer.
He can extend himself.
He can expand himself into unlimited forms.
It's like he's in everyone's heart as a super soul.
Just like he is in everyone's heart as the super soul.
One time Lord Chaitanya said, where is Krishna? Where is Krishna?
One time Lord Chaitanya said, where is Krishna? Where is Krishna?
Hello. He was told, Krishna is in your heart.
Then he was told, Krishna is in your heart.
He started scratching on his chest.
He started scratching on his chest. They stopped him. No, no, no, no.
So Krishna.
So Krishna. He has unlimited capacity.
He's the supreme Enjoyer.
He's the supreme enjoyer and we are meant to serve him. Various worshipers Worshippers are of two types. Worshippers who know the essence of Rasa, Rasa, Tattvit and worshippers devoid of the analysis of Rasa. Even if they lack an understanding of Rasa in practice, they engage in discussions of Rasa to some extent due to the absence of true knowledge of its essence. They label this conceptual meditation Dhyana, concentration, Dharana, deep reflection, Nidityasana, Samadhi, supplication, Prarthana, spiritual practice, Evad in Islam, worship, Puja, prayer and similar terms. Would I say anything? I'll concur. When worshippers become absorbed in this acts of worship, prayer and so on, a sudden emotion akin to lightning flash arises from their inner self, trembling the mind and sometimes manifesting physically. Such as though as through standing of the hairs on the body, etc. They feel as though if their state could remain permanently within them, all their suffering would cease. What is this state? It is a nature of matter. Nature of thought and nature of opposite matter. Search the entire material world and you won't find such a phenomenon. Even the subtlest aspects of matter, such as electricity or magnetism do not exhibit this state. If you analyze thought and see, you will find that it also lacks that state. There is certainly nothing in thoughts that are opposed to matter. Then from where did it originate? Reflect deeply and you will see that this mood springs forth from the perfected essence of soul. Even though it is covered by matter only during the time of worship, you realize such a state. But you do not analyze its essence in precise detail. Come, let us analyze it and see. Oh, it's all.
This is very systematically. Chakra Bhakti note.
So this is very systematically. Thakur Bhakti Vinod.
He's showing us how the wonderful perception some kind of subtle inspiration.
Is showing us how the perception of some kind of subtle inspiration.
Some kind of ecstatic feelings.
Some kind of ecstatic feelings.
Some kind of very profound A star symptoms.
Some kind of very profound ecstatic symptoms.
Like standing on hair on end.
Like standing of hair on end.
Sometimes someone laughs.
Sometimes someone laughs Or Cries. Cries.
Or get choked up.
Or get choked up.
Well, that's the something about the eight.
I started sending so that asta satvika bhav eight ecstatic symptoms.
So these are actually kind of I want us realizing a little bit of the essence rasa.
So these are actually we are realizing a little bit the essence of rasa.
And so if we. Jesus, he told his followers ten commandments.
Actually contemplate on this. Like lord Jesus, he told his followers the ten commandments.
But the first commandment, love the lord thy God, all your heart, all your mind, all your love God, thy.
Thy heart. What's that?
I love him.
You love him.
So I told some of my some of the nurses I came to see me that were Christian.
So some of the nurses who came to see me, they were Christians when.
I was in the hospital.
When I was in the hospital.
So then I sat. The arrival tells a lot about Jesus.
So I told them. Your bible talks a lot about lord.
Jesus, but in the Bible it says 10 Commandments is a love God.
So in the Bible it says in the ten commandments that you should love God.
Your bible doesn't tell much about God.
But your bible doesn't tell much about God.
And. The so those tell a lot about.
So the Bhagavad, Gita, shrimad bhagavatam, those things tell us about God.
Not naturally, if you love about God, you can love him.
Naturally, if you know about God, you can love him.
So I said this. So I thought about it and I.
Suggest right when I said this, they thought about it and they said yes, you are right.
Also preach to other Christians.
So we also need to preach to the Christians and the other religions.
They're not. They do some devotional service, I pray or service, but they don't really know about the rasa.
They do some devotional service like by praying and serving, but they really don't know about rasa. Okay, so let's analyze it and see. Okay. Material thought and impersonal thought is not worship. That inconceivable emotion is a particular function. A function does not exist without a shelter. Ashraya, the pure self veiled by the material body and material thought filled mind is the shelter of that function. As soon as the discussion of one's own smallness and subordination to the greatness of others arises, that function suddenly manifests like an emergence of fire. After striking a match of match or flint, the one toward whom it is directed becomes its only vishaya object. During the time of worship, the proximity of the object of worship causes this function to emerge from its shelter and move towards its object. This function is stai Bhav, permanent ecstatic moods. The practitioner sadhaka and the goal Sadhya serves as its Alambana, while the remarkable qualities of the object act as its udhipana, awakening or stimulus. This kind of particular ecstasies vibhav are observed in it. The moment the functions shelter and object were combined immediately several actions and characteristics which are the subordinate external ecstasies, anubhavas indicating the internal emotions were observed in the shelter among the.
Tunnel. This is science. Science of ecstasy.
Science of ecstasy among the 13 types of anubhavas. Among the 13 types of anubhavanas previously mentioned, one or more will definitely appear at that very moment. Some of the 33 Vyabachary Bhavas such as joy, humility or indifference will come and assist the actions that functions at this time. Some of the satvika transformations such as standing of hair on the body, tears and others will come and be present. Now consider and see what is worship. I've explained the components of worship separately. Now you have understood that Rasa, the Rasa that I referred to earlier is worship itself. Stai Bhavas, permanent ecstasy, attainment of state of relishing is seen in the worship through the interaction of these four bhavas, I.e. vibhava Special Ecstasy, Anubhava subordinate ecstasy, satvika bhava, natural ecstasy and vyabachary Bhava transitory ecstasy. Thus, worship itself is Rasa. Material actions or thoughts or non material impersonal thoughts can never be worshiped. All such actions are always devoid of Rasa. An important point is that all worshippers inherently adopt the Rasa inherently adopt the Rasa inherently adopt the process of Rasa inherently adopt the process of Rasa. However, due to their lack of understanding of the science of Rasa, they fail to explain their functions in a systematic scientific manner. The cause of this anartha is due to the impression of previous association.
So we worship Krishna.
So we worship Krishna.
That's Krishna consciousness.
That's Krishna consciousness.
And actually that means that we. So this worship of Ka is something different.
So this worship of Krishna is something different.
Like the material thoughts. Material doesn't produce this Rasa.
This material thoughts and other material things doesn't produce this Rasa.
Like you know, materially some scientists or someone stinging it's very dry.
Materially, some scientists or someone speaking, it's very dry.
When you actually worship Ka, then worship the Supreme Personality on him.
When you actually Worship Krishna, worship the supreme personality of Godhead.
And then you feel something special.
Then you feel something special.
Someone remember that. Some new devotees, Some new devotees asked Prabhupada, why are we bowing down? Why should we bow down?
They were asking Srila Prabhupada, why should we bow down?
He said, you do it, you'll see.
He said, you do it and you'll see.
I did it and I saw.
They did it and they saw.
Krishna consciousness is something that we experience.
Krishna consciousness is something that we experience.
We advance. I mean, some people, they take as I've been chanting for three weeks, I still don't feel any ecstasy.
Some people say that I've been chanting for three weeks, still I don't feel any ecstasy.
It might take years, who knows, it.
Might take years, who knows, a thousand. Three weeks, it might happen three weeks.
But generally takes 20 years.
Generally it takes 20 years.
And the 14th chapter Bhagavad Gita talks about the penrose, the jail nature.
Like the 14th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita speaks about the three modes of material nature and how the Lord is.
One is conditioned by healthiness.
So how in the one in the mode of goodness is conditioned by happiness.
And mode of passion you have unlimited desires.
In the mode of passion you have unlimited desires.
And the mode of you're crazy and understand anything.
In the mode of ignorance, you are crazy and you don't understand anything.
How saying how to ultimately by sending Ka, you automatically reach Sudha sat on the pureness.
But ultimately by surrendering to Krishna, you attain Sudha Satva, pure goodness.
Understand that we are eternal souls generate bodies.
So we want people to understand we are eternal souls and we have these.
Temporary bodies and we are meant to serve Ka eternally.
We are meant to serve Krishna eternally.
That's how good transferred to the spiritual world.
And naturally we will get transferred to the spiritual world.
But those in the mode of goodness, material goodness.
But those in the mode of material.
Goodness which is always mixed a little bit.
What's that? Oh, it's mixed a little bit.
So they reach the higher planets.
There is the higher planets passion, Those in the mode of passion, passion. Usually they take birth in the earthly planets or the lower planets.
Lower.
Oh, lower heavenly planets. Sorry, Guru, match. Those in the mode of ignorance, they go to the lower planet. Some of them would come back to the lower species.
So I want to be free from all ignorance.
So we want to free from all ignorance. Mode of ignorance.
Sorry, I'm going to be free from the mode of passion.
And we want to be free from the mode of passion. And finally we reach the mode of goodness.
So worshiping Krishna, that happens automatically.
So by worshiping Krishna, it happens automatically. So guru Maharaj, it's 8:45 now, it's time for dinner.
So last night I asked everyone to pray for Gurdas.
Last night. So last night I asked everyone to pray for Prajeshwar Gordas.
And I saw that son, as you prayed, he opened his eyes and he began conscious.
And he. They said that as soon as you all prayed, he opened his eyes and he became conscious. He was in coma for so many days. He couldn't speak. He was prayed, he spoke, you prayed, he spoke. So day after tomorrow they might transfer him to the normal ward and eventually to my purpose. So we want to pray for him every day. So we'll chant and we'll dedicate that to Brajeshwar Gordas. Adhikari. Hare krishna.
Har krishna.
Har krishna.
Krishna. Krishna.
Krishna. Krishna.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much. Continue tomorrow.
Blessing to all the devotees and blessing to all you.
Krishna Matirastu. Blessings to all of you.
