The following is a morning class given by His Holiness Jaya Pataka Swami Maharaj on January 17, 2026 in Sridharmapur, India. The class begins with a reading from the Srimad Bhagavatam 3rd Canto chapter 23, verse 40 and 41.

So this morning we are reading from Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 3 titled the Status Quo Chapter 23 titled Devahuti's Lamentation Text Twin Text 40. Vaishrambake surasane nandan nandane pushpa bhatra manasay chait ramayan. Translation Satisfied by his wife he enjoyed in that aerial mansion not only on Mount Meru but in different gardens known as Vaishrambaka. So Surasana Nandana, Pushpa Badraka and Chaitra Rathya and by the Manasa Sarovara Lake.

Tiny mandar mehru parvate.

Text 41 brajna vimanena kamagena mahi yasa vaimanikan at yasheta charal lokan yatan nilah. Translation he traveled in that way through the various planets as the air passes uncontrolled in every direction, coursing through the air in that great and splendid aerial mansion which could fly at his will, he surpassed even the demigods.

Purported by his divine grace Ac Bhaktivedanta Swami Shla Prabhupada. The planets occupied by the demigods are restricted to their own orbits. But Kardama Muni by his yogic power could travel all over the different directions of the universe without restriction. The living entities who are within the universe are called conditioned souls, that is they are not free to move everywhere. We are inhabitants of this earthly globe. We cannot move freely to other planets. In the modern age man is trying to go to other planets, but so far he has been unsuccessful. It is not possible to travel to any other planet planets because by the laws of nature even the demigods cannot move from one planet to another. But Kardama Muni by his yogic power could surpass the strength of the demigods and travel in space in all directions. The comparison here is very suitable. The word Yata Anilah indicate that as the air is free to move anywhere without restriction, so Kardama Muni unrestrictedly traveled in all directions of the universe.

So. Seven days on my 14th day therapy is

Now we can learn many nice things from these verses.

One thing is that Karma Muni he was a very strict Brahmachari.

Kardamuni wanted to experience what was the material happiness.

This is legitimate course of action.

So this is a very legitimate course of action.

After his marriage he was a very renounced rehashed husband.

And after his marriage he was a very renounced Grihasta also.

And devotee also accepted different types of austerities and penances.

He was meditating for a long time. He had obtained mystic powers.

And he and maidens bathed her and massaged her.

So he had his wife bathe in the Bindu sarovara and many Gandharva maidens made her bathe and massaged her. So Devahuti had her a great pre regained her previous great beauty.

His wife enjoy the material happiness in his aerial mansion.

So then Kardamamuni and his wife enjoyed material happiness in this aerial mansion.

Better than the Devas.

That was said to be better than the Devas.

He went to various Clarence and all over the universe.

So he went to various gardens all over the universe.

So then eventually he produced children.

So then eventually he produced children.

His idea was how to enjoy your house alive. And

his idea was after enjoying his Grihasta life he would take sannyas.

Among Bishesh Tar, Bisha Jay Tini, Shapshmay, Krishna conscious children and his special characteristics voyshisto was that he was always Krishna conscious.

He was always control of his atma and he was self realized. He was Ka conscious.

He was always in control of his atma. He was self realized. He was Krishna conscious. So

I won't talk about the future. You'll hear about that later.

So one should understand this principle of how one can become a Vaishnava or a Vaishnavi.

The Dhairid Varnajram is not exactly the way people think.

Devi Varnashram is not exactly the way people think.

And say that Aha's life. She cooks, but she offers the food to Krishna. She does Archie. She hands her job law, she she raises Bhagavad Gita. Then they clean the house and things like narrow household duties.

A lady in the house may cook and offer to Krishna, do Aarati chant, Japa and do various kinds of household activities like this. She

ranakore, she rana ram kritoshakalap, shapkuju, korea hi. And she chants the holy names of the Lord in kirtan and she also distributes books. She comes to the temple and she greets the deities. She worships Srila Prabhupada then Guru Puja and she worships her own spiritual master.

So

she's not. She's a Vajravi, not a woman.

She is a Vaishnavi, she's not a woman.

And they just don't do their housework, try to satisfy their husband. They'll take on a heart. Another word. The higher birth. Man birth or something.

According to Varnashram, if a woman takes care of the house, serves her husband, then in her next life she may take a higher birth, the birth as a man or so on.

Joditini acharan, koren, tinitar, griho kormo dakashno, koran magrio, karmo palon korenitadi john may, arun,

Arjuna, don't fight as a Kshatriya, fight for me.

In the 18th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna instructed Arjuna, don't fight as a Kshatriya, fight for me. If a Kshatriya dies in the battle, he goes to heaven.

He gets a kingdom.

If he wins, he gets a kingdom.

But Arjuna, so he would go back to the spiritual world.

But Arjuna, he is fighting for Krishna, so he would go back to the spiritual world.

It can be anyone. Even if a person is a farmer, a Vaishya, a person is a Shudra and he is. Or if he is doing some farming, if he is doing it for Krishna, then he will go back to the spiritual world. With Krishna where Krishna is, we have

to keep our consciousness. We're doing it for Guru and Krishna.

We have to keep it in our consciousness that we are doing it for Guru and for Krishna.

This is something that Prabhupada tells us that his Guru practiced on the stars of the Dakar by his side at all times.

This is something that Srila Prabhupada told us that his guru Srila Bhakti, Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur was by his side all the time.

These only problems, What they call the modern situation and kalyuga.

There may be so many problems with the modern situation in Kali Yuga.

Gender equality, those things.

Gender equality, various things.

We can't reverse all those things.

We can't reverse all those things.

And we don't want to reestablish a caste system.

And we don't want to re establish a caste system.

We want that everybody becomes ka Conscious. Dentist Amar Amerikathe I have a disciple in America who is a dentist.

And she was recognized as the best dentist in her state.

And she was the best.

The very best.

Not her interest.

So the traditional Varnashrama people may say, no, she's a cook. This is not her interest.

How did we curse the lords? That's really what we want to do.

It's hard to be Ka conscious. That's what we want to really want them to be Krishna conscious.

Brother was saying how his Guru was all by his side. So past few days I've been thinking like that.

So Srila Prabhupada was saying how his Guru was always by his side. So the past few days I have been thinking like that.

Kotan. And by this I am getting a lot of happiness, bliss. So I want all the devotees to think that I am acting for Krishna. I am working for Krishna. And I am working for Krishna's pleasure. I am working for the pleasure of the spiritual Master, and if I do it like this, then my life will become successful.

I mean, we are doing it generally like this, but I am not going to do it mechanically without thinking.

We may be trying to do like this, but we may be doing it mechanically without thinking.

And we actually consciously alter our every action to Krishna. And we're all, you're all bhakti yogis. Bhakti yogis.

So if we offer all our activities consciously to Krishna, you are all bhakti yogis and bhakti yoginis.

So

this is, you know, very convinced to everyone that whatever they are, people may have different desires, different ideas. So they should be Krishna conscious.

We can preach this that everyone, whatever they are, they may have different desires, different ideas, but they can all be Ka conscious.

Eighteenth chat, verse 65. Read the translate.

Always think of me, become my devotee, worship me and offer your homage unto me. Thus you will come to me without fail. I promise you this because you are my very dear friend.

Brahmin culture, Kaja culture, Raja culture. We're trying to promote Christian consciousness.

We are not trying to promote Brahmin culture, Kshatriya culture, Vaishya culture. We are trying to promote Krishna consciousness. Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear. So Varnashram Dharma, Kshatriya Dharma, whatever Dharma is there, abandon all of them. And just surrender to Krishna,

The real Dharam

that is the real type of Varnashram.

Krishna. Er Santu Stir Janna Korvo Gurudevar Santu Sti Vidanair Janna Korvo. Whatever we do, we will do it for Krishna's pleasure. We will do it for the pleasure of our spiritual master.

But they have a desire to work or to do some activity, another type of activity.

So RLA Prabhupada was saying that if you're born in a certain caste and if you have desire to perform a different kind of activity.

Like in the modern world, we may have a head of a nation, head of a state, a lady,

Someone is a prime minister or someone is a chief minister, etc. I go to different hospitals and I see that the doctors there, many of them are ladies.

We can't. Some of our ladies are chartered accountants and then make two lives a month.

Some of our ladies are chartered accountants and they make 2 lakhs a month. So we just want them to be Krishna consciousness.

Man or woman, we want everyone to chant Hare Krishna and we are Krishna conscience to their service, to their activity Har Krishna.

The point is that whether man or woman, we want everyone to be Ka conscious to think about Krishna to do their activities for Ka Upades.

He was a great yogi and maybe Satyuga or something like that, but he was always Krishna conscious.

Kardamamuni was a great yogi in Satya Yuga or so, but he was always Krishna conscious. And he became the father of Vishnu

avatar Kapila Devil Situated. But I didn't. I wasn't able to hear about it.

I wanted to see the Gangaar Sagar Mela where the mela is situated, but I wasn't able to hear about it.

So about. Stressed. I heard a little bit after all this karmony. All this was kingdoms nine on Krishna.

Maybe this is not stressed enough. But I was reading how Kardamuni had always kept his mind on Krishna.

Here Srila Prabhupada gives the example of Kardama Muni and Devahuti and that he has compared it to a spiritual master and disciple. The disciple should serve the spiritual master like Devahuti has served her husband.

So Karma Muni, he wanted to experience the material life.

So Kardama Muni, he wanted to experience material life. Complete so that his renunciation would be complete.

So. We were seeing that some of our advanced elderly devotees are falling into Maya because they haven't really experienced material enjoyment.

So we want to see what quality of works one likes to do. But they just do that for Krishna.

We would like to see what quality of work someone would like to do and they can do that for Krishna.

I had a disciple of the business that he said I had to go. He wanted to leave everything and be a Pujari.

I have a businessman, I have a disciple who is a businessman. And he said that I want to leave everything and go and become a Pujari.

So that I can go back to Godhead.

So that I can go back to Godhead.

So I was telling him that if you do business and if you do it for Krishna as a Vaishya, if you do it for Krishna, you can also go back home, back to Godhead, to Krishna's planet. One egg pisa oh. He was telling that you have a lot of projects, you have the TOVP to complete. You have so many other places where a lot of money is required.

So he wants to make some money for Kristan.

So he wants to make some money for Krishna.

So whatever one does, they can do that for Krishna. That's the success.

So whatever one can do, one can do that for Krishna. That is the success.

When we have billions of dollars, what is the use? It was Dr. Krishna, you have to take birth again and again.

In the real world, one may have millions of dollars, but millions, billions of One may have billions of dollars, but what is the use if it is not used for the service of Krishna? He may have to be born again and again in the material world and take birth again and again. We want to make everyone Krishna conscious.

We don't care what they're doing, but they should do it for Krishna.
