20260203 Śrī Caitanya-śikṣāmṛta Class in Śrī Māyāpura, India #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

In this recorded devotional class, His Holiness Jayapataka Swami, together with a primary reader, expounds on the Gaudiya‑Vaishnava concepts of Madhurya Rasa (sweet, intimate love for Krishna) and Parakiya Rasa (the transcendental love of the gopis toward Krishna despite marital bonds). The lecture draws on scriptural sources such as Srimad‑Bhagavatam 10.33.19, the Ujjvala‑Narayana, and the writings of Rupa‑Gosvami, explaining why Krishna is the only supreme hero and why Parakiya Rasa, though condemned in material contexts, is the highest expression of divine love in the spiritual realm. The speaker contrasts mundane interpretations of adultery with the transcendental reality of the gopis’ love, emphasizing that all material judgments arise from the modes of nature. He also references Lord Caitanya’s revelation of this rasa knowledge through his guru Madhavendra‑Puri, and urges devotees to prioritize service to Krishna above material duties, cultivating the inner desire to serve. The class repeatedly stresses that the rasa experience is confidential, beyond ordinary comprehension, and that true devotion requires spiritual vision beyond material illusion. The session concludes with devotional encouragement and channel promotion.

Guru Maharaj's message is your advice Advantage the following is a Sri Chaitanya Sheikh Shamrita class given by His Holiness Jaya Pataka Swami Maharaj on February 3, 2026 in Sridhar Mayapur.
Haribur Hare Krishna Dear devotees, today we will be reading from Sri Chaitanya Shiksham Vashla Satchidananda Bhakti Vinod Thakur on the subject matter of Madhuriya Rasa Quotation From Srimad Bhagavatam 10.33.19 expanding himself as many times as there were cowhead women to associate with the Supreme Lord, though self satisfied, playfully enjoyed their company, in one aspect of Krishna Tattva lies Atma Ramata. In the opposite aspect lies opposite aspect lies the pinnacle of Leela Ramata, manifested as Parakiya Bhava when the hero and heroine, though entirely unrelated and externally distant, unite through attraction drug the astonishing Rasa that arises, known as Parakya Rasa. The more one is drawn toward Atmaramata, the more the Rasa dries up, the more one is drawn toward Leela Ramata, the more the Rasa, the more Rasa blossoms in joy. Where Krishna alone is the hero, Parakya Rasa is never contemptible. When an ordinary living being assumes the role of a hero, then the distinctions of Dharma and Adharma arise and Parakiya Bhava is completely contemptible. Even the mere conversation between a parama and a married woman is decided to be completely contemptible by poets. Sri Rupa Goswami states that the inferiority attributed to Upapathy paramour in the scriptures of ordinary poetic ornamentation is spoken only in relation to mundane heroes, but applied in relation to the transcendental Krishna, who is directly the object of Rasa abstraction and divine relish.
So this is learning how Krishna is the only hero.
So this is explaining how Krishna is the only hero.
He is the supreme Person.
He is the supreme person.
He is the supreme enjoyer.
He is the supreme enjoyer.
So if he is participating in this
Prakya Rasa, if he is participating in this Parakiya rasa, it's transcendental. It's transcendental and nothing to do with the material world. And it has nothing to do with the material world.
And
so
it's something that people cannot easily understand.
It's something that people cannot easily understand.
Congress Member But I'm not qualified Prabhupada
told one congregational member that I'm not qualified.
When the congregational members want him to teach, tell them about loving affairs.
One congregation, Some congregation in Chennai. One congregational member. Oh, I thought, okay. One congregational member requested him to teach them about Radha and Krishna.
So he said, you're not qualified.
So he said he's not qualified. You are not qualified.
I said, oh no, I qualified.
And then they said that no, no, we are qualified.
Then he said, I'm not qualified.
Then he said I'm not qualified.
So we got people as you understand, unless they are practicing devotees they won't
understand because people misunderstand Unless they are practicing devotees, they don't understand.
I mean, who else can expand himself
millions of forms I mean, who else can expand himself into million of forms and dance with Armenia and dance with every Gopi?
So Krishna very transcendental.
So Krishna for Krishna this is very transcendental.
They consider mundane, is condenseable.
So people, those who consider mundane, consider this mundane. They're contemptible. All right. The women of the city of Swakiya lawfully wedded One who accept the maiden's hand in marriage is called Pathi Quotation from Ujjwala Neelamani he is called the Pati husband of a maiden who becomes the acceptor of her hand in marriage when one becomes agitated by intense love Anuraga and transgresses the religious principles of marriage in order to attain a paramour Herein surrendering everything to that love Such a person is described by learned scholars as an Upapadi Quotation from Ujjwala Neelamani when one is impelled by passionate love transgresses the religious codes of marriage in pursuit of a paramour heroine Parakiya and surrenders everything to the love Such a person is called Upapathy by learned scholars in this mood in this very mood the supreme excellence of conjugal love Sringararasa is established the inferiority sometimes attributed to this mood applied only to mundane lovers not to Sri Krishna the supreme personality of Godhead who descends to relish the essence of transcendental Malus A woman who disregards both worldly and spiritual religious principles and violates the sanctity of marriage by surrendering herself to a man other than her husband is known as Parakia Nayika Parakya is of two types those who are unmarried girls Kanyaka and those who are married woman Paroda so
Krishna wants
our intense love Krishna wants our intense love.
So if we person gives up her religious pencils social obligations to her husband.
So if a person gives up her social obligation and religious principle to her husband,
dedicates it to Krishna.
Dedicates it to Krishna.
That's transcendental.
That's transcendental and down.
So that's why the paraki Arasa is something that Krishna enjoys.
That's the Paraki rasa something that Krishna enjoys.
Actually Krishna is everyone's husband.
Actually Krishna is everyone's husband.
And other sisters? Are there other husbands?
It's artificial that there are other husbands.
Wrong. He creates this kind of situation. So that people and actually attached to their husband. But their childhood Krishna is more this kind of situation.
People are naturally attached to their husband. But their attachment to Krishna is more.
Think. Thought is that we want to serve Krishna.
So we also want that in our inner heart we should think that we want to serve Krishna.
All the tail duties, other things are secondary. Our desire to serve Ka and Krishna is shrinking.
All the material duties are secondary. Our desire to serve Guru and Krishna is supreme. Supreme.
We are also learning that.
So we are also learning the system of following the Gopi's footsteps.
That for us we do everything. But really Krishna service is our supreme desire.
So for us we do everything very beautifully. But service of Krishna is our supreme. To serve Krishna is our supreme desire. What do you think? The Parakya mood of Tut is of two types involving unmarried girls. Kanyaka and married woman Paroda. The Brajagopis under the rule of Maharaj Nanda are renowned for this mood. Their hidden amorous desire Prachanna Kamata bring great pleasure to the King of Gokula. A woman who is united with her husband through the rite of marriage. Panigrahavidhi, who remains devoted to to following his instruction and who does not deviate from the path of chastity. Pati Vratya Dharma. She is known as Vakiya. The ladies of Braja are often in paramour relationship. Krishna's queens in Dwaraka are Swakiya, wedded consorts. Whereas the ladies of Vraja are often in the Parakiya mood, paramour lovers. From the conversations between Vijaya and Gopal Guru Goswami this has been accepted up to this point with a certain omissions here and there. The position of Krishna's consorts in the unmanifest pastimes, whether Swakya or Parakya is now being expressed. The unmanifest Leela in Goloka is eternal. Just as there are daily eternal pastimes in this earthly Braja Bauma Vra so too are they present In Goloka. In the same manner, those who are seers in Goloka can see these leelas as it is because they are beyond Maya and thus possess vision that transcends the modes of nature.
His leelas in Bhma Vrindavan.
So Krishna is manifesting his leelas in Bhauma Vrindavan.
And those leelas are eternally manifest in the spiritual world.
And those leelas are eternally manifest in the spiritual world.
So the finalists, what will make an astrid Krishna, when Rama stole all the Kabais cave and went away, was a moment for him with a year by.
Actually when Brahma stole all the cowhead boys for him, it was a moment. But here a year went by.
That year Krishna manifested himself as all the coward boys.
And that year Krishna manifested himself as the cowhead boss.
So then in the siddhan was rather that child marriage.
So in India it's Ram, what's the agreement?
Child marriage was rampant.
Okay, So in India, actually in India it was the custom. Child marriage was a custom.
And so at that time all the hard boys married all the girls.
At that time, all the cowherd boys married all the girls.
So as the cowherd boys were Krishna,
actually the cowherd boys were Krishna.
Krishna was their husband.
So actually Krishna was their husband.
But obviously the cowherd boy was their husband.
But officially the cowherd boys were their husband.
And after one year, Brahma came back. The cowed boys returned to their palate.
After one year, when Brahma gave back, the cowhead boys returned. Brahma came back, the cowhead boys returned to their families.
When I drew out the mother, they had the hard boy that they were married to as they were married to Krishna. But how they thought they were married to someone else.
So the cowherd boys, cowherd girls thought that actually they're married to someone else. And the cowhead boys thought that they were. What did the cowhead boys think of much?
They came back right to the rally.
Okay, so the cowhead boys thought when they came back they were married to actually someone else.
I don't know. Girls thought they were married to this particular boy.
So the girls, they thought that they were married to this particular boy.
Not actually they're married married to Krishna.
Actually they were married to Krishna.
All right, apparently they are more attached to Krishna than other husband.
Apparently they were more attached to Krishna than their husbands.
So like that, you know, there were all these. All right,
so like this, the Gopis are being glorified throughout these discussions because
of the unalloyed attachment to Krishna.
Because of their unalloyed attachment to Lord Krishna,
we heard about all the other Rasas.
We heard about all the other Rasas.
And actually the fans, the friends, the servants, all. Rosa.
So actually naturally, the parents, the friends, the servants, they are all devoted to Krishna.
It's a bit more intense.
But here we see in the Madhuri eras it's a bit more intense.
So that in Dwarga there's Swakiya, they're married to Rajasthan.
In Dwarka there is Vakya.
They are married to Lord Krishna 16,108 Kwams.
And then the 16,108 he has 16,108 forms entering into 16,108 palaces.
And associate with wife in his palace.
And associate with his wife in each palace.
Like that Krishna dances in a Rasa Lila.
Like that Krishna dances in the Rasa Leela.
You will have millions. All these are zillions of all these.
Or even with millions of gopis or zillions of gopis, He can expand himself to that many forms.
I mean he's present all your hearts as super soul.
I mean he's present in all of your hearts as supersoul.
In your heart.
In your heart.
Know what you're thinking?
What are you thinking?
I don't know what you're thinking.
I don't know what you are thinking.
But he knows.
But he knows.
So we can't compare our love, our situation with his.
So we can't compare our love, our situations with him.
Now this just gives us an idea what the Madhura Rasa is.
So this gives us the idea what the Madhuriya Rasa is.
Maybe, who knows? Or one of the other Rasas.
So who knows, Some of you may be in the Madhuriya Rasa. Some of you may be in the other Rasas. The Parakiya Bhava of the Gopis is faultless. The eternal pastimes that manifest within the material realm are of the same nature as those in the spiritual world. However, due to the influence of the modes of illusion, the eyes and ears of the seers here are covered and thus they perceive these pastimes with with certain flaws and vision tinged by sense of illusion. The conception of Parakya Paramalov that eternally exists in the Goloka may appear in the material world to resemble mundane relationships. In Krishna's pastimes there is no trace of inferiority or material contamination. But perception of inferiority and materiality is inevitable due to the senses that are composed of the modes of nature. This very truth was revealed by Krishna to the Gopas of this material world. Quotation from Srimad Bhagavatam Thus, deeply considering the situation, this all merciful supreme personality of Godhead Hari revealed to the cowherd man his abode which is beyond the material darkness. Lord Krishna revealed the indestructible spiritual effulgence which is unlimited. Conscious and eternal. Sages see that spiritual existence in trance when their consciousness is free of the modes of material nature. There is no shame or fault whatsoever in the Parakyatva Paramormud of the Gopis because the criticisms heard regarding married women or the courtesans among ordinary worldly literary portrayals do not apply here. The women of Gokula, though being Krishna's eternal energies, relish Paraki Rasa in Goloka. And that Rasa is the highest Sri Krishna Chandra brought his Goloka consorts to Gokula in order to bring the supreme Rasa into the world. What fault is there in that? He is not a mundane hero. This has happened solely for the welfare of the Jivas. Otherwise how would the Jivas become eligible to taste the highest Madura Rasa and attain the supreme Rasa? To serve Krishna through Madhura Rasa in the mood of the Gopis of a Gopi is the devotee's duty. One who tries to relish this Rasa by becoming Krishna, he will certainly go to hell immediately. 1. Only deceitful, wicked and crooked minded people commit this offense.
We understood that someone was taking the position of Krishna.
We understood that someone who wants to take the position of Krishna and he was.
Oh, he was dancing with married women.
So someone wanted to take the position of Krishna and he was dancing with married women. His divine Grisha Bhakti Vinathagore challenged him
and finally had him put in jail.
Finally have him put in jail.
But he stole a lot like curses and things.
But he suffered a lot by curses and things.
But he kept determined to do the needful.
But he kept determined to do the
needful to start to shine the wicked to shadow,
to stop this kind of wicked deceitful expressions.
So like that there may be some people in the material world so like
that there may be some people in
this material world who want to take imitating Krishna.
Who wants to take the position of imitating Lord Krishna.
What it say that?
But we see that in the spiritual world there is Krishna and his devotees.
So Krishna creates different circumstances so that the love of his devotee is intensified.
So Krishna creates different circumstances so that the love of his devotees is intensified.
So we should appreciate that.
So we should appreciate that we shouldn't
compare with the material illusion.
So we shouldn't compare it with the material illusion.
And Krishna wants to reciprocate love.
Krishna wants to reciprocate love.
And so this Madhuras. Madhuras is most intense love.
So this Paraki eras Madhura love, Madura Ras is the most intense love.
Lord Chaitanya, he revealed this secret.
So Lord Caitanya, he revealed the secret.
He. Doesn't.
Madhavendrapuri.
Madhavendrapuri. He's the one who revealed us.
I love Krishna, Lord Chaitanya's Param Guru Madhavendrapuri. He is the one who revealed this ecstatic love for Krishna.
When I saw Sami was visiting Lord Chinyang was visiting and he saw the one, the Holy One, Brahmin, low caste Brahmin.
So when Lord Chaitanya was visiting Vrindavan, he saw a low caste Brahmin was
dancing and
he was dancing and very ecstatic at the time. So then he thought that he must have some connection with Madhavendra Puri.
And when he inquired, it turned out that Madame Vendrapuri had visited his house.
And then when he inquired it turned out that Madhavendrapuri had visited his house. He took Prasadam and gave him initiation Haribur.
So like that Lord Chaitanya can reveal to all us.
So like that Lord Caitanya came to
reveal to all of us the continental knowledge about the Rasa.
The confidential knowledge about the Madhuriya Rasa. So some people might like the Swaki Arasa. But the Paraki Arasa is the most abominable in this material world. But in the spiritual world Paraki Arasa is the most elevated.
Very confidential to understand.
It's very confidential to understand. Haribo.
My voice is giving up.
My voice is giving up. Krishna Mater Astu.
