20260213 Śrī Caitanya-śikṣāmṛta Class in Śrī Māyāpura, India #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

In this recorded devotional class, His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Maharaj expounds on passages from Śrī Caitanya‑śikṣāmṛta, Ujjvala Nīlamani and the Srimad‑Bhāgavatam to illuminate the theology of Madhurya Rāsa – the supreme romantic love between the Lord and the gopīs. He explains how Krishna, as the supreme hero, manifests in six abodes (Dvāra‑kā, Mathurā, Braja) and in 96 distinct heroic‑rasā configurations (four relational temperaments multiplied by six forms, each further subdivided). The discourse proceeds to detail the five categories of Krishna’s companions (Chetaka, Vidushaka, Pita‑mārda, Priya‑narmasāka, etc.), their qualities, and how they support the Lord’s pastimes. Throughout, Swami emphasizes that the Lord’s presence pervades every heart as the Supreme Soul, that devotees should not imitate Krishna but serve as humble servants (bushes, creepers) in Vrindavan, and that the ultimate goal is to attain Goloka‑braja through devotion. The class interweaves scriptural quotations, numerical classifications, and devotional exhortations, concluding with a reminder of Vaishnava identity and service.

Hari Om Tatsa Hare Krishna Dear devotees, today we will continue with the reading from Sri Chaitanya Shikshamrata Vashla Satchidananda Bhakti Vinod Thakur on the subject matter of Madhuriya Rasa A quotation from Sahitya Darpana Though poets have condemned the love between married woman Paroda in romantic literature, the lotus eyed women of Kokula, the Gopis do not belong to that category. With the hope of establishing the highest Rasa for those steeped in dramatic tradition, Bharata Aritanam Kamsari Krishna, the crown jewel of connoisseurs of Rasa Rasikamandala Shekara has accepted this mood. When the Lord assumes a human like body to show mercy to his devotees, he engages in such pastimes as will attract those who hear about them to become dedicated to Him. Quotation from Srimad Bhagavatam One who desires peace should behave like a devotee, not like Krishna himself. This is the clear conclusion of the devotional scriptures.
So Krishna is present everyone's heart.
So Krishna is present in everyone's heart as super soul. As the super soul.
Millions unlimited trillions of billion entities.
There are million unlimited trillions of jivas living entities.
Krishna is present in everyone's heart as
suicide and Krishna is present in everyone's heart as the super soul.
So we cannot compare ourselves to Krishna.
So we cannot compare ourselves to Krishna.
He has unlimited potencies.
He has unlimited potencies. So we are trying to be a devotee of Krishna.
We should not try to imitate Krishna.
We should not try to imitate Krishna.
Just like Lord Shiva drink the ocean of poison.
Just like Lord Shiva who drank the ocean of poison.
We drink one drop of poison, it would kill us.
But if you take one drop of poison, it would kill us.
So you cannot imitate Krishna.
So we cannot imitate Krishna.
Devotee, you know, you say that he does amazing things.
So but by being a devotee we can appreciate that he does amazing things. Quotation from Ujwala Neelamani One who desires peace should behave like a devotee, not like Krishna himself. This is the clear conclusion of the devotional scriptures. Uddhava's statement from Srimad Bhagavatam. The Gopis of Vrindavan have given up the association of their husbands, sons and other family members who are very difficult to give up. And they have forsaken the path of chastity to take shelter of the lotus feed of Mukunda Krishna, which one should search for by Vedic knowledge. Oh, let me be fortunate enough to be one of the bushes, creepers or herbs in Vrindavan, because the Gopis trample them and bless them with the dust of their lotus feet. 47.61. So this is a prayer by Uddhava.
He so much appreciates.
He so much appreciates the Gopis that
he's designed to be a bush, a creeper, a grouse
that he is desiring to be a bush, creeper, grass and Vrindavan. And the Gopis stomp on this with their lotus wheat. Okay, Bhakti Natakur continues. Among crores and crores of liberated souls, a single devotee of the Lord is rare. Even those who are devotees inclined toward opulence Aishwarya Parabakta are not able to see Koloka being liberated from matter. They serve the majestic form of the Lord in Vaikuntha according to their respective moods. But among those who worship Krishna in the mood of Brajarasa, only that devotee whom Krishna mercifully delivers from all material bondage is is able to truly perceive Goloka. The devotee whose vastusiddha perfected in substance is taken directly to Goloka by the mercy of Krishna. Those who are Swarupa Siddha reside in the earthly land of Braj, absorbed in the mood of the Gopis. A person dominated by Tamoguna sees everything as material. Even during Braja Bhajan, those influenced by Rajoguna or practitioner Sadhakas perceive somewhat better. A devotee in Satvakuna experiences a semblance of Goloka in Gokula. But the Nirguna, free from the qualities of material modes of nature, Vrajabakta, by the mercy of Lord Krishna, very quickly attains Goloka in the transcendental Gopi body. As much as Maya based perception goes far away, Goloka becomes that much clearer. Yashoda's childbirth, Krishna's birth chamber and Parakya sentiments arising from eternal associates, marriage like emotions with figures such as Abhimanyu and Govardhana are vividly manifest in very gross form in Braja. All this is executed by Yoga Maya and is intricately connected with the most subtle foundational truth. There Is nothing false whatsoever. It is entirely identical to Goloka or due to the perceivers of material illusion vision Prapancha Drishti does it arise in a gross form in Braj? In Goloka, the nourishing sentiments Rasa Poshaka Abhimana of those same truths are eternally present. Those Sadhakas who serve the Ashtakaliya Leela with the identity Abhimana of the Vaja Gopis will adopt the perception of Pratiti of the earthly vraja. The extent to which Krishna's mercy is received, to that very extent the purity in service will become of its own accord. Excuse me, one asks, does Braja Leela not exist during the time of the great cosmic dissolution Mahapralaya? The answer is at that time all the leelas reside in Goloka. Through Astakalia Sadhana, one attains daily access to eternal Leela. During the period of cosmic stability, Braja Leela circulates like a wheel, manifesting in one Brahmanda after another. In the time of great dissolution Mahapralaya, everything having gone to Goloka, continues to reside there. During the Unmanifest Leela period, Mathura Dham does not become hidden. Rather, it remains favorable to the Sadhana of living beings. It continues to resolve like a wheel within the earthly realm. This much has been said. Now comes the actual subject.
This is styling with a lunch, then Gogula which is Raja in the material world, and Loka, which is Braja.
So this explains the difference between Gokula Braja in the material world and Goloka braja and the spiritual world.
I lost one house,
One who is in the material world, who has the Sudha Saddha vision.
He can visualize the actual pastimes of Ka.
He can visualize the actual pastimes of Ka.
Those with a mix of passion or ignorance.
Those with the mix of passion and ignorance. All the leelas not able to see all the leelas fully. Krishna's Nayakatva Romantic Herohood Our Krishna, there is no other hero besides him. Krishna is complete in Dwaraka, more complete in Mathura and most complete in Braja. Krishna has husband Pathi and Parama. Upapati is of two types. Thus, across the three abodes, he manifests in six forms according to the four types of heroic temperament. Dhirod Dhata, Dhira Lalita, Dhirashanta and Dhirod Dhatta. He becomes 24 types then, based in the relational modes. Favorable Anukula, submissive Dakshina, deceitful and bold Drishta these 24 are multiplied fourfold resulting in 96 types of heroes. In Swakiya Rasa Vedat love there is 24 types. And in Parakia Rasa Paramalava also 24 types. In Vraja the 24 types of Parakya Nayi Katva of Krishna are eternally manifest. Wow.
What does that mean?
What does that mean?
96.
96 varieties.
All right. Krishna, he's engaged to the hands of pastime.
Anyway, Krishna, he is engaged in different kinds of pastimes.
Sad for you to say that he is Rasha Shaker.
It is said previously that he is Rasa Shaker.
He is enjoyer of all the pastime.
He is the enjoyer of all the pastimes.
So. Not so much writing the material world.
There is no so much variety in the material world.
Krishna loving various rivalries.
So we see that Krishna in his various loving engagements he has various characters. So in Dwaraka he is enjoying the Swakiya Rasa. And in Braja he's enjoying the Paraki rasa.
It has 24 types.
Each has 24 types.
These rasas hygiene analyzed and these are
the rasas eternally manifested in Goloka. Another quotation from Ujjwala Nilamani by Srila rupa Goswami chapter 1, verse 23 Anukula favourable, Dakshina, submissive shatter, deceitful and Drishta bo. These four types are said to apply to both categories. Each has four subdivisions determined by reasoning and behavioral traits. Thus far, the Alambana aspect supporting role of Braja hero has been briefly shown. Five types of companions of the hero. The hero has five types of companions. Another quotation from Ujwalani. The hero Nayaka is classified into four types beginning with the noble Udhata and then further subdivided into categories such as most surrounded by women. He may manifest 12 or 24 aspects depending on his pairing with consorts such as the wife Patni and others. Based on favorable Anukkula and other relational dynamics, the hero is described in 96 varieties.
How does that work?
How does that work? Okay, go on.
24 times 4, 96.
24 times 4 is 96.
Various Rasas.
So Krishna enjoys all these various Rasas with his devotees. With his devotees.
It's always say that conjugal love is variegated in various ways.
So we can see that conjugal love is variegated in various ways and
saw in two combinations of these attitudes. Rasas. Here's the hero, the center of all the relationships.
So in different combination of attitude And Rasa Krishna he is the center of all these various relationships.
Now since he can expand himself anotherly
now since he can expand himself unlimitedly
he can have a personal relationship with his Khali is partner he can have
various relationship with each Gopi or each patnis.
This is not possible for us.
This is not possible for us.
This is possible for Lord Krishna but
this is possible for Lord Krishna.
So he is the hero and he is the prati and the pra Party uber party.
So he's the hero, he's the pati or he's the Upapati parama. So interesting. Another quotation From Ujwala Nilamani 2.1 to 2 okay. The hero's companions Sahayahaha are of five kinds. Chetaka, personal servant, bitter, witty companion Vidushaka, comic friend, Pita marda, strongman or bodyguard Priya Narmasaka intimate confidant in romantic affairs. Their equalities include skillful in playful and romantic expression Narma prayoga naipunyam Should I read the Sanskrit ones as well? Deep emotional attachment Ghada nuragha knowledge of time and place Deshakala gnat dexterity and competence Dakshya ability to pacify distressed gopis Kashta Gopi prasadana discretion in secret council Niguda mantra these are considered the virtues of heroes. Companions.
Along with Krishna Right?
Types of Companions so along with Krishna there are five types of companions which are nanjala which are mentioned above and
so these Krishna have this these qualities.
So these companions of Krishna have these qualities. Ujwala Neelamani 2.13among these Saka friends are of four types. The Chetaha is also referred to as a kinkara servant companion Even the pitta marda strongman may assist the heroic endeavors. Vira adapi Sahaya karita the five companions of the heroes are Cheta Beta, Vidushaka P, Pita Mardaka and Priya Narmasaka. All of them are skilled in playful and romantic speech, deeply affectionate, knowledgeable of time and place, competent in action, capable of pleasing the gopis and adept in confidential counsel. The chetas of Krishna and Gokula such as Bringa and Bringa Gura are clever in reconnaissance, experts is a French word and sacred tasks, and endowed with bold intelligence. The beaters of Krishna, like Kadara or Bharati Bhanda are refined in dress design, cunning, eloquent in conversation and skilled in arts and enchantments. The vidushakas of Krishna such as Vasanta Gopa and Madhu Mangala Are fond of eating, prone to cruel, expressive in gestures, witty in speech and evoke laughter through their attire. Though virtuous like the hero Sridham, being a follower of the hero is one who massages Krishna's back. Subala and Arjuna who are deeply rooted in mood of the Sakis and possess profound knowledge of intimate secrets are Krishna's Priyanaramasakas who are superior even to other
beloved companionships is not mentioned here.
So the different relationship of the different friends of Krishna are mentioned here and
all of them are very expert in the romantic affairs of Krishna.
All of them are very expert in the romantic relation affairs of Lord Krishna.
Well, the Pranayama sagas are superior to
all the rest amongst them the Priyanaramasakas are superior to all of them.
So we see that Krishna has a whole army of friends that held him in his conquest.
So you can see that Krishna has a whole army of friends who who help him in his conquest.
So like this, the relationships right in
the so like this here the relationships are very intimate.
People are God is absorbed helping Krishna
being healthy and the devotees are absorbed in helping Krishna be happy. Sorry. The assistants Chetagana, Cheta Gana in Dasyarasa the messrs Pita, Mardaka are in Vira Rasa and others are in Sakirasa. The assistants Cheta Gana are servants, Kinkara and all four types of friends. Sakas and the female messengers Duthikana are counted among the helpers. Sahaya, the messenger is of two types direct messenger Swayam, Dhuti or intimate messenger Dhuti this right the side long side, long glance Kathaksha and the sound of the flute Vamsidvhani, a direct messenger, Swayam Dhuti, Veera, Clever, bold speech Pragalpa, Vachanacha, Chatura and Vrinda Clever in flattering words Chatu, Ukti, Chatura. These two are Krishna's intimate messengers Apta Dhuti. There are many general messengers Sadharani, Duti of Krishna such as feminine ones, Lingini and fortune tellers, Dvai, Vajna and artisans, Silpa Karini.
So we can see that the Palestines are Krishna very. What to say? Expansive.
So we can see that the pastimes of Krishna are very expansive. They have many different aspects to comprise many different aspects. No, no, I was just repeating you.
Males and females.
So some of the messengers of Krishna are male and female.
Now this is very confidential.
So this is very confidential how Krishna is.
People have studied Krishna's pastimes People have
studied Krishna's pastimes and they say that our
holidays different relationships and they can
see that how different devotees are in different relationship with Lord Krishna.
So this is very, very intimate, very confidential.
So this is very intimate, very confidential.
And so like this Christian style science. Very.
So like this Ka's pastimes are very sublime.
We can begin to understand how his pastimes unfolding.
So we can't begin to understand how his pastimes are unfolding.
I don't know how much others can remember.
I don't know how much of this we can remember. Are there any questions? No question. So
it's not just that there's love of Krishna.
So it's not just that it's love of Krishna.
Variety of things.
But there is a variety of things
and salt and residents bodhis involved in Kayas ways.
So Krishna's devotees are involved in various ways.
Haribo, are you all Vaishnavis? Vaishnavas. And these are things that are revealed to you.
So because you all are Vaishnavis and Vaishnavas, these things are revealed to you. So we see that some of the Indian leaders they say fdg
that should be banned.
That should be banned.
We don't agree with ftg.
We don't agree with ftg.
So I would be the MDG mantra Diksha Guru.
Then that would be then MDG mantra Diksha Guru. No matcha oh Macha Diksha Guru.
We're all Vaishnavas. Vaishnavish.
So we are all. So Gurma is saying I'll be MDG Malaysia Diksha Guru. We are all Vaishnavas and Vaishnavis
into Vaijnavas.
Vaijnavas rla Prabhupada. He made us into Vaishnavas and Vaishnavis.
And that's our tradition.
And that's our tradition.
So oh like this. Wow.
So like this. We want to serve krishna in transcendental love.
Thank you very much.
So thank you very much.
Haribo.
Haribo srila guru maharaj ki the gopis of vrindavan ki lord krishna ki sri sri radha madhu sakurindamaipur chandra ki krishnair matirastu.
