A short devotional talk by Janmashtami Prabhu (from the Jayapataka Swami archives) reflecting on the steadfast dedication of spiritual leaders—especially Srila Prabhupada and Jayapataka Swami—who continue their mission despite serious health challenges. The speaker cites Viswanath Cakra Thakur’s commentary on the Bhagavad-gita to emphasize single-minded devotion to a spiritual master, relates personal anecdotes (a 1999 meeting about founding an institute, service commitments, Mayapur Institute experiences, and post-2023 Kolkata course work), and urges persistent service to sustain the movement. That really strikes me, you know, when your Guru Maharaj. Anyway, I guess the main thing that I'm just completely amazed by, it's beyond the scope of a miracle, is that he keeps going no matter what happens with his health. And it's just miraculous. There's so many predictions that he wouldn't live much longer, but he surpasses that because he's got his mission and R. Caitanya Mahaprabhu is right there with him. Thank you all. Glorious. To Rla Prabhupada and your Guru Mahraj. Wonderful. Vaiava Hare Ka Commentary by Viswanath Chakra Thakur on Bhagavad Gita241. And this describes Vivyas Yatnaka Buddhiha Kuru Nandana Bahushakaya Budhayo Vyavyana. Those who are on this path are resolute in determination and their aim is one. The intelligence of those who are not in Ka consciousness is many branched. So Srila Vishwanath Cagari Thakur makes a point that one should accept the order of the spiritual master as one with his heart and soul. And Prabhupada followed that throughout his life through so many challenges. Same thing with Jaipataka Swami. It's amazing. You know, he got an instruction, you know, to build a city of 50,000, and he keeps going with that. So many disciples to initiate. And what's also remarkable, just as Rla Prabhupada had three heart attacks, two of them in the Jaladuta going to America, Jaipataka Swami has had many health challenges, but doesn't stop him from giving his heart and soul to pushing on R. Caitanya Mahprabhu's mission as Prabhupada instructed him to do. Now, you know, he's had an amazing influence on my life. You know, I went to him in 1999 with the idea. I went to Hari Sari and told him, I think this may be a really good place to start an institute similar to the V.I. vrindavan Institute for Higher Education. So he took me to Jaipattaka Swami. We had a meeting. He really liked the idea. But he said under one condition, Janmashtami Prabhu, that you stay with this service no matter what for at least five years. So it was very difficult. But that empowered me. I realized this wasn't going to be easy. So I just stuck with it for 10 years. And then similarly with the service that I've recently taken on Atul Krishna Prabhu and I met With Yogurt maharaj after the 2023 Kolkata Rath Yatra, I try to make this a real short situation, succinct story. And we met to talk with him about two courses that we're developing. And in the conversation I said, maharaj, I'm sure you vividly remember the disastrous circumstances our movement faced in the first 19 years after Srila Prabhupada's departure. But senior Guru is like your good self, Gopal Krishna Maharaj. Bhakti Chu, Swami Sivaram Swami and others glued our movement back together so it could go on in a reasonably stable way. But what will happen to our movement if devotees don't go deep in their relationship with Srila Prabhupada and understanding him as their foundational Shiksha guru, at the same time going deep in their relationship with their Diksha gurus and you all leave? It may be even worse than it was after Srila Prabhupada's departure. Your Guru Maharaj agreed and then in a very, you know, very emphatically agreed. And then he said, if we don't do something now, it'll be very difficult to do after we leave. So that was a very empowering statement for me. So I don't waste a second of my life in trying to push this ahead. And that's coming from your Guru Maharaj also. When I was starting the Mayapur Institute, he used to chant japa in front of Panchatava deities. And then he'd go on a japa walk starting at 6. And if I ever had any trouble, I just go up to him and say, this is what's going on. And he'd come up with a solution like that. Amazing. So it's, I'm just, I'm blessed by the best. As Bhakti Tirtha Swami says to have his Samkha. Thank you, Hare Krishna.
