Reported sequence: ~60,000 (day 1), ~30,000 (day 2), decreasing over days to ~260 (day 9), and '100% pure' / no bacteria by day 10.
100 bacteria (the speaker stated '100 bacteria by World Health Organization is safe for drinking').
Verse of the Shim Al Shimad Bhagavad Gita as it is. I want to thank everyone for being here on this Sunday program. I know you changed it from Saturday to Sunday maybe to accommodate me. So I'm very grateful. My name is Jayapataka Swami. I live in Mayapur Dam, the birthplace of Shichetanya Mahaprabhu. I'm a disciple of his divine grace, AC Bhaktived Vedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder Acharya of iskcon.
Iskcon.
And I'm here to serve you. So this service tonight we'll discuss a little bit about this verse is a very special book. The older devotees know this very well. For the new people, the Bhagavad Gita. Bhagavat means supreme personality of Godhood and Gita means a song. So he sang these verses to Arjuna. And this is a very special book because this is. There are many scriptures in the world, many holy books written by prophets, by Son of God, by apostles, by different saints and holy people who had some kind of communion with the Supreme Lord. But this book is actually spoken by the supreme personality of Godhead himself. These verses are coming from his own mouth. Says the Ganges river is holy because it touched the feet of the Supreme Lord. We bathe in the Ganges river to get purified. People go thousands of miles just to take a dip because the water is holy. Even modern science cannot figure out why. This is the only water in the world that the more you keep it, the purer it gets. It's self purifying. We also had some, we had some tests done on the Ganges because you want to know whether we can use it for drinking in our city. The problem is that people are throwing their municipal waste and India so many garbage in the water so that, you know, those things are floating within the water. The government says they're trying to stop it, but they're not. So they're just now becoming a little effective. So we took a sample of water and the first day we found it had 60,000 units of bacteria in a period.
Then Tassi Prabhak said, here is the bacteria.
The second day we test same water, we just kept it. Second day we tested 30,000. Then it had like about 7733,000. I kept going down, down till after 9 days it was 260, only 60 bacteria. 10th day, 100% pure. No single bacteria. 100 bacteria by world Health Organization is safe for drinking. Other water would go up what, 60120 keep going worse and worse. But here it goes down. That's coming from the foot of the Lord, this vibration. That's coming from the mouth of the Lord. So you all by hearing this vibration, you're taking a bath in this nectarian vibration from the mouth of the supreme personality of God. You know there are various kinds of yoga. There's yoga. It's actually the word means to link. To link up with the supreme absolute truth.
This is Surya.
How many of you use mobile phones? Okay. So when you look at the phone, you want to see if you have the network.
Right?
When we were driving to Bulgaria, we went into the mountains and sometimes we didn't get any network because so much mountain. So just like we want to link up with mobile phone, the yogis want to link up their individual self with the supreme self. Individual self is known as Atma. And the supreme self sometimes is known as Paramatma or super soul. In his original form he is known as Bhagavan.
Our swat is in the channel form is Vesnika to Bhagavan or Krishna. Krishna.
So there's different types of yoga. There's a yoga of the where this do works, good works. There's yoga where you use your mind. Think of the philosophical things, the purpose of life, the origin of life, Ima Yoga. There's a mystic yoga process where you control your breathing and you do yoga asanas. Actually Patan, shall any of you practice yoga here? So the. I mean Hatha Yoga, you predict Hatha Yoga sometimes. So you need a seat. The one lady needs a seat. Give her a place. So the Hatha Yoga, you're supposed to stop the thinking by the breathing process. But to do that, to stop thinking, it takes a very long time. Maybe sometime births and births. Patanjali, the master of yoga, Patanjali says that if you add devotion to your meditation, you can go very fast. One can directly do devotion. That's known as the process of Bhakti Yoga. Bhakti Yoga, we use our mind.
Bhakti Yoga Tum.
We use our body, we use our words, we use our emotions. We use everything in the meditation. Main thing is we use instead of stopping our thinking, we replace the thinking with spiritual thoughts. So by thinking about Ka Misnik is a Krishna. By using our senses and the service of Ka Krishna in this way we are not creating any more karmas. The eternal soul is situated in a temporary body. And these bodies are producing karmas. Good works produce good karmas, bad works produce bad karmas. But both Kind of karmas keep us entangled in this material world. Even an initiated devotee is responsible if he does karma. Even a non initiated, even initiated, but initiated devotee is supposed to have been trained under the spiritual master how to do work which does not produce karma. This is the science of karma, Vikarma and a karma. Karma v Karma. A Karma means good works, Vikarma means bad works. And a karma means works which don't produce material reaction. They're spiritual activities. So the idea is that in Bhakti Yoga we use our senses in the meditation. Just like you were all doing the kirtan. You were using your tongues and chanting your ears and hearing your eyes and seeing the Jagannath and what's the name of Gornyattan, Seeing the devotees, seeing the beautiful pictures. Some of you were using your nose to smell the flowers that were going around. Otherwise later I'll give some nourishing oil which also you can use your nose to smell, touching, smelling, hearing, seeing, singing. And I heard also tonight there may be some kind of a feast or a prasadam of some kind. Something to eat. Is that true, Param Jyoti? Very true. In some extent. Something, something for the tongue. You can use your tongue in meditation on yoga food. So Bhakti Yoga, we use our senses and not meditation. So it's easier to get our focus. It's easier to get samadhi because you're using all the senses. You're not having to stop everything. Like in the Eightfold yoga system. You're using everything but you're replacing it with spiritual inputs. In this way we control our senses by keeping them busy. Spiritual activities. How many like this idea? So although it's also fun to do even material. Who doesn't like to sing and dance? You're all intellectual people. So I'm sure you like hear a little bit of philosophy and such things like this. It's a very pleasant process. Govinda sang a song. You see, Lord Chaitanya is specifically gave us this process of singing the names of Krishna, the mantras of Krishna and dancing and the feasting and all this. We're singing, we're singing and we're going to glorify Lord Shaitan because he gave us this process. So Parama Karuna means supremely merciful. Supremely merciful. The two lords Nitai and Gorachandra.
Nitai I Gorachandra.
Here behind these curtains on the left side, there's two beautiful golden figures. That's an Italian Gorachandra. They are so merciful amongst all the incarnations of God and all the avataras, personalities of descendant from the spiritual world into this material world to deliver us. They're the most, the crown jewel, the best, the most merciful. See, in their process they didn't consider you're good, you're bad, you're qualified, you're unqualified. They gave their mercy without discrimination.
Best needed for his grand challenge.
If you want the mercy, you can have it. Irregardless, caste, color, creed, degrees, education, rich, poor, everyone can get the mercy.
The push.
Pious, impious.
Theist, atheist, atheist, anybody can.
Get simply if you want. Then he said he gave simply the process which was simply blissful. Simply blissful. No difficult tapasias, no difficult austerities, more complicated processes, very simple to do. Dancing, reading shastra, hearing the nice classes and doing some practical service, giving free food to the hungry people. Maybe making a special farm project to show self sufficiency, ecological favorable lifestyle with a spiritual basis. So the idea of this process that we want to have an immersion. We want to be immersed in this type of spiritual thought, spiritual environment, spiritual vibration. By getting this immersion, then we start, then we get purified. Very quickly we start to realize the all spiritual happiness comes from the absolute level in the material world. Some people are happy, some people are sad. But this happiness, what's it based on? Based on the senses. So the same senses cause us happiness or can cause us also suffering. Right? So the senses are such one thing, we're really happy. We get something in the material world and suddenly there's some problem, there's some material complication and then we are feeling so much anxiety and suff. So that's why they said this is in this world. There's Sukha, Dukha, there's happiness and distress. The yogis have to be tolerant to all these changes we get. The higher happiness is what we want. The spiritual happiness that doesn't have a negative side to it. So we get immersed in that spiritual happiness and we always feel spiritual bliss. When I first saw Prabhupada, what I found was he was the most happy person I've ever met. Sometimes people don't realize him and look at his face because he looks very grave. Sometimes they don't know what is spiritual ecstasy. You'll be feeling such a profound ecstasy. You'll be sitting next to him. You could see tears are in his eyes. You could see that he was feeling so deep spiritual ecstasies. But maybe his mouth is going. It looks like, take a picture. It looks like maybe he's very grave. But actually it's an ecstasy.
Twatikaz Katune Mosh drill Cheatimoda twice a stroke.
Stroke. Okay. Stroke. What is stroke.
Serious? Grave?
No. But yeah. This is such a deep. Is not a superficial happiness. It's a very deep, very deep happiness. Very deep ecstasy. Something that touches the atma, touches the self. Even a little bit of chanting, you get a little bit of experience. There'll be a drop of that again. A little something. Profound experience from the chanting. A little bit of experience. Maybe not so deep, but a little. Few drops of ecstasy. And if you keep chanting, if you do seriously with the mercy of Lord Chaitanu. You can also experience very profound, deep ecstasy. Lord Chaitanya got initiated by his spiritual master. Then he came back to Bengal. Back to Novadib Dan. He was a changed person. Before he was the greatest scholar. Ph.D. nimai Pandit.
Dr. Nimai Pandit.
Then he became the. Now he was chanting Hare Krishna, lecturing on Krishna. It was like a changed person. So people thought maybe he's gotten something, you know, like mentally a little bit. Some problem there. So there. One time they approached his mother.
He didn't then tell Tishi Premaikamu who was calling.
Nimai. Nimai, come for lunch. You know, you should do something about your son. There's all this laughing and crying and everything. Something's wrong, you know. Seems like the errors in the brain are a little bit running loose. Give him some tender coconut water.
Daimo de pa. Without CocoCife.
You won't know too much about that in Bulgari. I don't think you have too much tender coconut here.
No, no green ones. We don't.
The green. The green coconut. You drink the water. Very nice. Very cooling. Green coconut. See. How was it? Refreshing. Refreshing. Yes.
Yep.
They thought this will cool down Lord Chaitanya on all this too. This is just ordinary thing. You have to put some nice cooling oil on the head. Otherwise not only you tie them down with ropes. It's beyond all these things. No, no.
You people.
What do you know? I don't know anything. Nothing wrong with my son. So then the Nimai Panda hearing all these complaints. So he went to see Shivas Takur.
Setkoto Nimai Churiki Shrivastakur.
Very senior Vaishnava Bhakti Yogi.
And in Novo Bhakti Yogi, our master.
In the Bhakti yoga practice.
Yoga said.
May I have an interview with you, young man? He's just 16 years old, you know. He's a great master. But at a very Young age. She was a great master. No, no. Chitanya was a great master at a young age.
Is dignified or not?
Shivas was more an older person.
Shivas built Povasanut Nego.
So he was well respected in the Bhakti Yoga field. May I ask you a question about Bhakti Yoga? Yeah, no problem. Tell me. See, people say that maybe something's wrong with me. I have a disease. No, I want to check, you know, with you whether I really have a disease. What's your symptom? See, whenever I chant Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, my hair stand on end. My voice gets choked up. Sometimes I uncontrollably laugh, sometimes I cry, sometimes I fall in the ground. I'm unconscious. So these are the kind of symptoms I'm feeling. And people say that I got a disease. Then Shiva said, yes, you have a disease. A little bit serious. I want this disease too. How many here want that disease? You have the disease of love for Godhead. Krishna Prema.
Krishna Prema.
Even Brahman Shiva want this disease. These ordinary people, what they'll understand about that? They have no experience. They have no idea. Although all the scriptures in the world say you should love God. How many people have ever seen really loving God? I know. You don't have to answer. You can think for yourself. He really loved God.
No Bokshi town to turn east In.
Obichoboro there was one Christian priest, theologian was searching around the world for divinity outside of Christianity. He went to India in the 1800s of India. And so he wrote a book, Discovery in India, something Gorakhpur and spirituality beyond Christianity. There he somehow spoke about Lord Chaitanya. He said, I have encountered the history of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and never in any tradition, whether east, west coast, Christianity or anywhere have encountered a personality whose life is completely dedicated in love of God. Here, in a level beyond any comparison, crying, ecstatic symptoms. Completely ecstatically in love with God. He said in his final years in Jagannath Puri, he was in daily communion discussing very intimate truths about the supreme Lord with his associates and experiencing extreme manifestations of love for Godhead. I have never found anyone in the whole world, east, west, north, south, anywhere that has this depth of loving expression of communion with God. So this is was nice to hear that such a Christian theologian has got this realization about Lord Chaitanya.
Color is beer. Chaitanya.
So then Lord Caitanya was told by Sriva said, look, why don't you come and chant in my garden? Then we can invite people who will Understand your spiritual ecstasies and you can chant and won't have to worry about all these people's comments like initially that's where the kirtan started. Then later it was taken out to the streets and he gave this love freely to everyone. So this fifth chapter is about working for Krishna using our body for Krishna. There's 18 histories called Puranas and the Vedas which are considered authoritative texts about Vedic history and the Padma. Purana mentions that this fifth chapter, Bhagavad Gita is very special. In fact it mentions each chapter is special in its own way. Even by just studying this one chapter, one can go back to Godhead. So one time Parvati was talking with Lord Shiva. Parvati is the goddess of the material energy. She is the material energy personified. Shiva is the material masculine, masculine quality. He's the one who gives a false ego of this material energy. Probably some of you have encountered that you have a false ego that counts from Shiva. Shiva, he's also a great master. He's in a special category that his expansion of Vishnu. But he's also connected to the material energy. Never touched the material energy.
Vishnu, the Krishna tonikone.
Something in between. But he's known as Mahadev. He's the great Lord. He's like the number one angel in the material world. He has very powerful, Very powerful. He's very powerful. Anyway, he knows about the Bhagavad Gita also he told his wife Parvati the fifth chapter of Bhagavad Gita is very special. Some of the glories of the fifth chapter. I know one history. So that once, once there was Krishna conscious family. They had a boy. They tried to bring him up to be a devotee. But he was more interested just to be a musician. So parents, they facilitated their child, trained him up in music and everything. He became a very famous musician. His musical talents became known by the king who invited him to make a concert for him. So he went to the royal court and had performed for the royal family. The king, the Lord, the ministers, everyone. King was very pleased. He appointed him as the royal musician. Nowadays if you go on television or movies or M channel or something, that's like you get the worldwide fame in those days you become the royal musician. That was like being a movie star or something. So we have a beautiful wife. Everything was good for him. Lots of money from the king, from other admirers also very good looking man. He's singing in public so some ladies got attracted to him. I think it still happens even now and he had some extramarital affairs. His wife got very upset with him. They had some marital problems. He said, you know, I was totally out of my control. I was forced into it, you know, I love you and I'll never do it again.
And so many castlevichko prone mark, contrast, nova suggestion.
No, it's very difficult being a musician sometimes, you know, you get forced into these situations. So sometimes she forgave him again. This problem happened so on the home front line of this Ashanti. A lot of lack of peace. The wife got an idea, he's going out with other women. If I go out with another man, then I'll teach him a lesson, he'll be faithful. Is that a good idea? That wasn't a very good idea. Anyway, she had a good intention, but she didn't know what would happen. Had an affair, but something happened. She didn't expect it. She got attached to that man. She lost her attachment for the husband, got the attachment for that man. Her husband saying, why are you going out? You go out. Why should I go out? You're a woman, you're not supposed to do these things. Husbands, so they can do it. So like this, big fights in a.
Percussion to the spray.
It was a very formal society. Outwardly, they had to appear like they were very faithful. So like this now she was seeing the husband as an impediment for her sense gratification. She wants to meet her lover, he causes problems. So she decided, let's get rid of the husband. So thing went from a good intention. Now she is planning to murder her husband. So one night he feeds the husband some heavy stuff. Then she cuts him in little pieces, kills him, throws him inside of some. Well, all this body and little pieces burns the bloody sheets. And the husband is taken by the Yamadutas. He was no saint either, but he didn't murder. He was no saint, but he didn't murder anybody. But anyway, so there's a course in the universe called the Yamaloka. When the body dies and then the subtle body is taken over there for judgment. Every birth we have judgment. If we're going back to Godhead or going to the heavenly planets, we just go directly. You're going to be again born somewhere in this lower area. We go there to get judged. So there he was held by the Yamadutas. Before the judge Yamaraj, the accountants of the Karma, said, well, this guy, many affairs, he did this, he did that. He was really a materialistic guy. He was born in a good family, but he didn't go for the Ka consciousness. He was told Maya and so on and so forth. Said, okay, you are. You rose to a very high position in society, the royal musician. But your mind was simply in the lower things. You're simply enjoying women, drinking, doing all kinds of sinful things. You're a high flyer.
This is.
Next sentence. High flyer, fly high, low mind. So on your next birth, you can be a vulture. They fly very high. They're just looking for the dead bodies. So you'll be a high flyer, but your mind will be down looking for the dead bodies, cadavers, the corpses. You live off the rotten corpses of the dead animals. H. Next. Okay. So then his wife was enjoying for a while. The king said, where is your husband? I don't know. He went out for a program, never came back. I don't know what happened to him. Well, okay, I guess we'll have to consider him dead. He didn't come back for so long. She got a big pension from the king, the widow of the royal musician. Anyway, we don't have to talk about. We know what she was doing on the side. Anyway, don't think about those things. Keep your mind pure. Then she got a disease. She got an extreme case of piles and hemorrhoids. Piles. That's where the intestines come out through the anus. She couldn't sit down. She couldn't pass stool. Bleeding from the anus. Extreme pain every time the stool came out. She's already getting a little taste of her karmas. Then she died of bleeding from the anus. That's what the scripture says. I'm sorry if it's too graphic.
Sanata.
Then she also, the Yama Raja Yamadutas who are waiting for her, took her subtle body off to the yamaloka for judgment. You did so many sins, so many bad karmas.
Imo Toko Nova karma.
You murdered your husband. You present yourself in society as a very high quality aristocratic lady. But you're acting internally just like an animal or bird or some kind of this creature.
To cause users to stop.
So next birth you can have. You can have as a parrot. You look very beautiful outside. But after all, you'll just have a bird brain. So she took birth as a papa Gao. She sees, you know, singing and flying in the forest. So what does all this have to do with the fifth chapter of Bhagavad Gita? Stay tuned. You're now about to hear. One day, that vulture was flying high in the sky, and he saw this parrot flying above the Forest. Somehow he got a flash. This is my wife from the previous birth. She murdered me in my sleep. Now I can get her. So he went the way that we're dying. Grabbed her.
Yes, grabbed you.
I got you now. You murdered me in my sleep, you cheating wife. Now I'm going to get you. You're not going to die slow. I'm going to tear you apart. Bit by bit she start tearing. Then he's getting thirsty from all this hard work of torturing his wife. Former wife. He's looking for some things to drink. He saw a nice human skeleton. The skull was upside down with the eye sockets and the teeth, you know, upside down skull from a skeleton. In that skull there was some water. So for the vulture this is like oh, nectar water. The rain had fallen. He landed by the side of that skull and was going to drink the water. The papagao, the parrot. She's crying out. She's so much pain. He's ripping her apart little bit by little bit. A hunter heard the crying of the parrot. Here, I can get some birds. It went to the parrot and the vulture, the arrow. They fell down in their skull in the water and died. Yamadutas came and took the two atmas back to the yamaloka. So this guy didn't learn anything. He was torturing his ex wife. He was in this very hateful consciousness. She didn't finish her karmas yet. She's got to pay a lot more before she goes back to human birth. Then Yamaraj went in meditation. No, they both can go back to Godhead. Even the manual. I think, my Lord, I think that little mistake there. I'm really a fallen guy. How is it possible I can go back to Godhead? Well, you know that skeleton that you landed by? You died falling in the water of the skull. It was the skeleton of a great devotee who used to every day read the fifth chapter of Bhagavad Gita. So even his bones became holy. So the water in his skull was like a Ganges water or something. Like a holy water that freed you from all your sins and you go back to Godhead. Because he's always thinking of the Bhagavad Gita. Even his skull was pure. So let's see how powerful Bhagavad Gita even makes your bones holy. Such sinful people can just touch the water from the skull of a devotee. What's the devotee's destination then? Go back to God. And what's the devotee's destination?
