Jaya Pataka Swami explains why the Hare Krishna Mahamantra is the special gift of the Age of Kali. He cites the Bhagavatam and Lord Chaitanya's teaching that the holy name is non-different from the Lord, making it the most direct path back to the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
Must I go? Haribo Raghuna Das Goswami has a prayer that he offers to his spiritual master. But the prayer is like a thanksgiving because in Sanskrit the verb comes at the end. So he lists a whole number of spiritual blessings. And then at the end he said Yasha Prabhuptangu. All these things I got for Chitta Kriyapaya just by the mercy of my Guru. So therefore I thank him and I offer my basis to Him. So what were the things he says? Would you recognize if the Lord revealed to you the Hare Ka Mahamantra which is the best of the names of God to give back to God? It is actually the special gift of this age of Covey that if we chant the names of God, we can go back to God. Go back to the supreme personality of God here, Bhagavan, very easily. But unfortunately, as a preacher we're seeing other people can recognize that there's so many people who don't have that open mind. To really understand how powerful the name of God is, please say Krishna rather than God. God is off to all this kind of a title. I could say President, Prime Minister or something. He has his own personal transcendental means. Hallowed be thy name. So these names are holy in the Bhagavatam and the Puranas and all the Vedas. That the name of the Lord is not different from the Lord. Lord Chaitanya explained. Ram, Ramudanuja, Sharva, Shakti, Tarot. This holy name has been imbibed, empowered with all of the potencies of the Lord himself. What benefit we could get if we could meet the Lord face to face? You get directly by chanting his holy name. There's no difference between seeing the Lord and hearing the Lord. Ra.
