Bhagavad Gītā chapter 5, verse 14.
Yes, we are very happy. Today is 13th July 2006. Our dearest Guru Maharaj Jayapadagaswami Srila Jayapadagaswami Acharyapad has come to visit us and to bless us again over and over. He's always been very merciful to us. We are here in Upanyati Dam, Atlanta and just get the mercy. Sam Ram it. Sam Ram the see by heart to see Sa it. Sam it. It's. Should I say before the class, after the class. After the Paninaki festival here. And then I went on a tour of South America to. Well, first of course to our American. South American gateway to Miami, San Viano, Chile. Went to Montevidea, Uruguay. From Uruguay to Buenos Aires where I was there for two, three days and lots of programs. They purchased the land and school quite well for the school that's going to shift somewhere else. The school then we go to. We had a Rath Yatra near Sao Paulo, Brazil. And I went to London for the Rath yacht. And there was some scare. There was some. Somebody wrote a. A letter saying they're going to attack the leaders at the Rathyatra, including myself. So they had to boost up the security a little bit. But there was nothing happening. And there was about. I don't know how many tens of thousands of people there filling up Trafalgar Square. Just like in New York we have fifth Avenue. But in London from the Marble Arch to Falmouth Square is pretty much the center of the town. And that's where they had the Rafiatra. Then I had also Rath Yatras in Dublin, Ireland and Belfast Northern. Then I headed back to India via Middle east with a program in the Middle east and then went to Calcutta Rajyantra, Calcutta Radhyatra. There's hundreds of thousands of people that watch and participate. They have three gigantic rats, three floats this year with the DE10 avatars Boichitanya and Jari Hamdan program. A lot of newspaper movers. The minister was supposed to come but it got out at the last minute. So we got the sheriff of Calcutta to come. Honorable post. Then we had a nine day festival in Calcutta where there fed 50,000 people a day. They had about 20 different booths. They had a kitty's corner for the children which I think was the first time I'd seen that. We have a little kitty corner here. They had the bouncing things too but they also had electrical train. They had a play altar where the kids could put little play DVs and things and all to like time to Set it all up and they had a puppet show and they had some arcade games where you could knock the demon off the tree or something. You didn't really catch what it was, but the kids were having fun doing it. And you paid 10 rupees to go in. Really? Yeah, it's just kind of. He brought undesirable things. 10 rupees is 20 cents. It's a good deal. Then we have the head of Namhat Bhakti Rikshad devotees who are taking people on guiding tours of the flows. You should be stepping to water the floats. They took Ayna tours and explained the 10 avatars, explained Jarika. There's one float for all this. There's the ropes pulling you down and then the cushion on the top and you know you pulled up the ladder or down the ladder and that was people. But at the end they showed a little multimedia show on the whole thing and then gave the people an exam how much they understood. Those that got over 70% will become an honorary member of the BHAI to Richard. I don't know if the other people would. I guess if they really want to like that. They have a lot of. They have Prashant sales, they have a full out restaurant with dosas and pizzas and you name it. They had 50% of the income from the restaurant went to some Chandra. They had a full on temple. On Jagannath holidays, a Buhra people came up and offered Ayurveda altar garlands, offered lamps. Just happened one day when I arrived. There was one of the most famous movie stars of Bengal who was there doing puja. The jackpot. They asked me to give our Hari Nam Chandra. All the newspaper guys were. So we had that. In the meantime, while the rallyatra was going on, I went up for the Rathyatra in Nepal. In Kathmandu they also had a Rath yacht. And the youth there are very inspired now by Krishna consciousness. A lot of the youth, some Russian devotee, Papca who's learned Hindi, Nepali, Mewara Mewari. Mewari Mewari. And he's preaching there to the youth who are a little bit frustrated after the king has kind of deposed and the political parties have failed. Maoism trying to enlist all the youth and they're kind of frying in the whole situation. So Ka consciousness that it was a very normal for them. And then he went like that and went back to Calcutta and more programs that went for the Uttar Rat in Bangladesh. We had one Rath Yatra in Kamila, another Rath Yatra in Dhaka. But there Were Rath Yatras all over the country like ISKCON. I just wanted Dhaka this year had 3 Raths. There was maybe 50,000 people. Mess of people pulling the rods went to the whole downtown area. There was I think what happened. I mean I hear later on what happened. I must have got cursed by people for the traffic jams but because then I went. We did a. We had a massive initiation program the next day and I was supposed to catch a fly. I got stuck in a four hour traffic change. I thought this must be the car money. I made initiations but I didn't make the flight. I left after the initiations at 8 o'. Clock. Flight was at 113 hours. Took me 4 hours to get to the airport. I missed the flight. But anyway we had a nice program. The next day 500 people came to the temple. We got up to Singapore, Malaysia. They had a national conference for the congregation of Kuala Lumpur. Finally I reached Thailand and we had a rathyacho there. Rathyanja apparently had a big splash in the Herald Children. There's an insert called Tithing about Thailand and the things that are happening for the full page Krishna consciousness the Hare Ka's entire vision. So take it around Mr. And from there I was late to here via Chicago. Arrived in Chicago yesterday at 3 o' clock went to the to Sudhi Krishna's house and they have 14 Bhakti Bhikshas there. Now it's expanding like anything. Something I could never achieve here. I don't know why. Okay, there's hope shows it can be done. So we have to every Friday the last year at here we have a bunch of Italian mass. He has evacuation in Salt Lake in Calcutta. His son in law is here, his daughter apparently we have a house warm trying to find out how to get there today but nobody could tell me something but still being honored bottom so that was the answer what I've been doing here to get purified I also had to meet with him. I went to Mayanpur for a early it was that was the most intense day but mostly satisfied with the day anyone I was in Calcutta next to nap. Then here I go to Toronto Rafiatra Saturday and Sunday there were small rats in the Afghanistan. Usually there were some rats, few rats. The biggest one near Calcutta was in a place called Mahesh. They still have that they invited me to go there. He was started by one of the associates of word Chitanya Kamala Kar. People like Kamala Kar So that's all we're not A competition. They were programmed sa sam with it. Translation by his divine grace, the embodied spirit, master of the city of his body does not create activities, nor does he induce people to act, nor does he create the fruits of action. All this is enacted by the modes of material nature. Translation of repetition the embodied spirit, master of the city of his body does not create activities, nor does he induce people to act, nor does he create the fruits of action. All this is enacted by the modes of material nature. All this is enacted by the modes of materials in nature. The living entity, as will be explained in the seventh chapter, is one of the energies or natures of the supreme Lord. What is the sting for unmanager, which is another nature called inferior of the Lord? Somehow the superior nature of a living entity has been in contact with the maternal nature since time immemorial. A temporary body or material dwelling place which he obtains is the cause of varieties of activities and their resultant reactions. Living in such a conditional atmosphere, one suffers the results of the activities of the body by identifying himself in ignorance with the body. This ignorance acquired from time immemorial, that is the cause of bodily suffering and distress. As soon as the living entity becomes aloof from the activities of the body, he becomes free from the reactions as well. As long as he is in the city of the body, he appears to be the master of it. But actually he is neither his proprietor nor nor controller of his actions and reactions. It is simply in the midst of the maternal ocean striving for existence. The waves of the ocean are tossing him and he has no control over them. His best solution is to get out of the water. By transcending that to the Kushna consciousness, then the Lord will save him from all turmoil. Thus ends 5th chapter 14 text translation Kirkwood of the Bhagavad Gita as it is by His Divine grace the matter of Karmi Yoga Action Krishna Consciousness in the Bhagavatam there's a description the history of Ramjana about the city of nine gates and how Purunjan became the king of the city of Mangates. And there he met his queen. He was enjoying life, but he got entangled in different activities. Finally the city was attacked by hordes of barbaric armies which are going to come in and destroy the city and kill the king and do so many horrible things. This was an allegorical story about the city of the Mangates is divine. It has nine holes, two eyes, two ears. It's four, five. What else is it? Two nostrils, seven at the anus and genital. So total you have nine holes in the body. These are the nine gates from which different things are entering and exiting. Some of the kids diseases are hatching, some kids leaving by products exit. So here it mentions also about the city of the body. There's a lot. This whole chapter is on the city of the body. Here we're in the city of this body and we think that we're the master. But it's like we're in some kind of video game, computer game. We have to. It keeps running on itself. Even if you don't push any buttons. You can move around a little bit, go up one level or go down a level or something, but it keeps moving. If you don't do anything, you crash. Right. So I know too much about it. Sometimes stay in the animals houses and see the kids there. But actually nothing happens to the person. Even they go up levels or even they die a few times. In the video games it's like that nothing happens to the soul. Even the body goes through all these changes. The soul begins eternally. The whole thing is created by this being. So we're in the material world. The three modes of nature are bringing us through these different situations. Just going a little slower. By our perspective, by Brahman's perspective, it's all going very fast. He lives so many billions of years. But our calculation is quite slow. Just not so slow, not so fast. If you don't pay your electricity bill within a short time, get the electricity bill. This is what you call the struggle for existence. So Prabhupada here is recommending that we should get out of the struggle for existence. Ultimately you don't win anything. Just keep going up and down every game and best thing is to get out of it. Because in this particular situation of the material ocean, it's like we're being tossed around in the ocean. There's sharks. I saw one documentary where there was a group of Australians went out to have a vacation and they went to the snorkel or to not snorkel, what do you call that? Scuba. To scuba, the reefs. See the fish, they were scubing and scubing and the whole group took off without him. Somehow the guy just counted and thought he had. Everybody took off and left. There they were alone on the reef, middle of nowhere, tens of miles away from the shore. And it showed how they were attacked by the sharks. It wasn't a happy movie. In the end there was nothing with sharks. They were looking all over for him. But it was too late. They were already Shark. This was the sharks. Pretty bad for there. So we're out there alone in the ocean. We're here in the ocean. The only thing is there's a lot of other people with us. We're all being tossed around and sometimes with sharks and sometimes with the boat. But the real thing is to get pulled out of that situation. So Krishna is like the boat that comes to save us from this ocean of earth and death. And we're not meant to be in the struggle for existence forever. We're meant to go back home, back to gather it. His best solution is to get out of the water by transcendental Krishna consciousness, let alone will save him from all turmoil. Maybe initially we think we're going to have fun here, but at the end of the day there's more difficulty than there's fun. So what's interesting, of course, is that to be a Krishna consciousness, even though we're in the material world, we're working for Ka. Suchang encourage everyone to do some kind of propagation, to become an instrument in the hand of Ka. Just like Arjuna was the warrior for Krishna in the battle of Guru Chatra, under Ka's protection. So Lord chitanda came here 500 years ago. He's also Ka, but he has a different kind of battle. He's trying to save the people from this turmoil of material existence and to bring them back home, back to Godhead. So we engaged in that activity. It's a very divine activity. And we get directly the shelter of Ka. What's interesting is that the periodically the Lord comes down and he does different things to bring back the people, to not restore. So he came 500 years ago to spread Ka consciousness. Along with him came many liberated souls of the spiritual world. They have nothing to do with this material world. They're not here for enjoying the materials. They just come here to liberate us. And to do that, that's their pastime. So we get an opportunity to join these pastimes of the Lord. When Sri Lan, he's one of the associates of Krishna. He's his tolerant boyfriend from Krishna, Leela and Vrindava. After Krishna left, he just took a break and was resting in a cave in Gordon Hills for 5,000 here, 4,500 years a little damn. But if you're eternal, I guess it doesn't make too much difference. So it's e nanakuku. When he was visiting Vrindavan, he went looking and he knew that Sri Lanka was there. So he started crawling outside the cave. Srinath Sridan Wake Up. Come on out. What you doing here? And he little cowering boy comes out. But Little Wing is from Dharma Yuga. So he's bigger sized than people from Kali Yuga. We are midgets compared to darker Yuga people. And he came out and looked and said who are you? Nanda didn't recognize him. He said, I'm Balai. I'm Balaram, your friend. So you don't look like Balran. You look like somebody else. Well, I'm Balay. I took this form. Well, if you're maligned and you can beat me on a race around Govardhan, you'd be the only one that could beat me. On your mark, it say go. Took off running around Govarda. Two were running, going around the first side, running around the far stretch, coming around the corner, coming in the backside, coming in all the way, coming neck to neck. And then it's getting on the moving ahead while you're on the far last door coming in. And it's getting on all the way. So then, so okay, you're Goliath said forgive me. You must be Goliath. What's happening here? Why I put this one? I said now it's Halil. 4,000 years ago, Lord Chaitanya has come. Kanay come as Chaitanya. He's spreading the Hari Namasantiyetan. He's delivering the fallen souls. I'm going to go there and help him. John, we're going to have a lot of fun delivering fallen souls. You're going to come with us. Okay? But you can't look there. You got to look at, oh, it's a different human. It ain't like a comrade boy anymore. You got to come and look like us. So he took his hand, put it on the head of Sivan then squished him down to fellow Yugoslight. And then he became Abhiram Thakur. So then ABHI Ram Thakur was pastor and associate of RBT Nagar. He's so powerful devotee. When you bow down to people's altars, sometimes they'll know to have a real shelling around. He'd bow down if it wasn't a real one. Sometimes they probably have guys to take. This coat looks like a shellinger would drill a hole in it and sell them in the market for a few bucks. Real shaloms are naturally ground out by some kind of special worm that does it. And it leaves all these little funny markings, these beautiful little markings, swirls and twirls, lines. So when he bowed down the Real shadowy ground was sustained. But the ones that weren't real would explode and turn into dust. So much intense devotion. I worship you couldn't take it. It wasn't the Lord. So we had all this devotees now, angels from the spiritual world coming down, participating in chanting Hare Krishna. And time to engage their condition souls. So just like the Lord's pastime was, Lord Krishna's pastime was taking cows in the forest, running around and killing demons. Lord Caitanya's pastime was killing the demonic nature, freeing people from their materialistic nature and awakening their spiritual. When I was waiting in the queue in Chicago for my immigration after then I was a little bit fatigued from the whole journey. One generally looked like a businessman with white hair. He said, Hare Bo. Hare Krishna said Hare Krishna, he said. So he didn't seem to really know too much. A little bit. You're a Hare Krishna going to Ohio? I'm a white Ohio, but he's singing. Then a few people when I was in. When I was going through the. They sent me on the agricultural check line because I had had some fruit in my bag and the beagle found it, but it wasn't any fruit. I'd already eaten it, but I could still smell it. So they put me through the check. I got through the check and the lady at the check was, oh, you come through here all the time. Patiently. Come through. Nice to see you again. As I came to Atlanta, they said we used to see the people chanting downtown. What happened? You don't see a dress like this anymore. But some people, some people list some people randomly. Usually nobody says Hare Krishna. How come people say Hare Krishna? But this is all part of the Lord's pastime. Especially when you see the whole world flooded with people's hands. So that's the idea, is that you can all be part of this. Coming to the temple or having be part of a ramahta or bhakti rickshaw group where after work hours one day a week, you get together with other peers, other devotees and discuss ka consciousness. Come guide new people, bring new people into your group. You know, in Chicago they had two groups there at the house that we stayed and one person came and one involved. I forget he or she could be hired a group. There was one Pakistani soil and he also come to the program. It's pretty rarely any of them in Pakistanis, but. So he was really. He was chanting and he was really Vista. It's a big scope for people. Thank you for watching our videos. Be sure to subscribe to our channel we publish new videos every day.
