Lecture by Jaya Pataka Swami (Śrīmad Bhāgavatam class) discussing the difficulty of controlling lust by intelligence alone and the necessity of sheltering in Krishna and the Holy Name. Explains mind vs. intelligence, recommends conscious neglect of unwanted thoughts and chanting (Hare Kṛṣṇa) and cites Rūpa Gosvāmī’s Krishna-ashtakam as a purificatory prayer. Retells Ajāmila’s story to show the personal potency of the Holy Name. Gives extensive material on Mother Ganges (Ganga) as a personified, purifying deity with multiple devotional anecdotes and proposes Ganga-pūjā practices. Applies these teachings to communal life in Mayapur (multicultural ISKCON community), noting governance structures (brahmacārī councils, rāṣṭrīya/āśrama norms) and the need for counselling, preaching activity, and elder care to protect younger devotees.
Questions this video answers
About 500 brahmacārīs.
Not even to see a woman. With the help of this knowledge and his intellect, he tried to control his lusty desires. But because of the force of Cupid within his heart, he failed to control his mind. Translation repetition as far as possible, he patiently tried to remember the instructions of the Shastra. Not even to see a woman. Not even to see a woman. With the help of this knowledge and his intellect, he tried to control his lusty desires. He tried to control his lusty desires because of the force of Cupid within his heart. Within his heart he failed to control his mind. He failed to control his mind. I can't take it in the wild language. Sit next to the private sector. Unless one is very strong in college patience and proper bodily, mental and intellectual behavior, controlling one's lusty desires is extremely difficult. Thus, after seeing a man embracing a young woman and practically doing everything required for his ex wife, even a fully qualified Brahman as described above does not control his lusty desires and restrain himself from pursuing them because of the force of materialistic life. To maintain self control is extremely difficult unless one is specifically under the protection of the supreme personality of Gayan through devotional service. Thus ends the Vaitivedanta Swami Translation Purport to the Srimad Bhagavatam 6 Cantu 1st chapter 60 2nd text in the matter of the history of the life of Athima, somebody asked me this morning, what's the difference between the mind and the intelligence? The mind kept remembering this lady that he saw in the half naked position and musty activities. It says here, with the help of his knowledge and his intellect, he tried to control these lusty desires and thoughts that were coming. So the intelligence is what controls the mind, tries to do it on the basis of knowledge, like the mind. Suddenly a thought may come in the mind which is angry or lusty or envious or something undesirable and based on knowledge. The intelligence can say this is not correct, this is not right. And if you're without control of your mind, you can push out the thought, bring in the proper thought, this is what I want to think. But if your mind is too strong and keeps thinking, then you can also. Prabhupada said one way of controlling the line is like neglect. You can just consciously say I don't accept it and pray to Krishna, this is not what I want, this is not who I am, this is some reflection of my previous karmas, my previous births or something. This is not what I want to do. And then consciously neglect. And then after neglect you can hopefully bring Back improper thoughts by chanting Hare Krishna. Hare Krishna. Maybe some of you in your life have some that had to face an unwelcome thought. Have you ever faced that happening? So it's something we have to deal with, especially in Kali Yuga, because we're being bombarded with unwelcome kind of environments which are not conducive for our Ka consciousness. We purify our consciousness. And today I heard that the day yesterday, the Gurukuli festival group in Atlanta, they're doing a Mandir Maha Marjana super cleanup fix up. We sing every morning in our Guru Vastaka prayers that we have the Mandir Marginado to clean the temple and then the Gundicha marginal, same word as the marginal, cleaning the temple of Munditsha. Before Rathyatra, Lord Chaitanya and all his associates cleaning the temple. And he gave the example was there. The temple was like Lord Chaitanya's mind. So at the end of the cleaning, it was so clean, like Lord Chaitanya's mind. All of us, when we cleaned the temple, it helps to clean our mind. Ambarish Maharaj was the emperor of the world. He used to go to the temple every day to clean it. So sometimes these little things have something important also. By preaching the glories of the Holy Name, we get purified from offenses we make to the Holy name. In the seventh Canto Shima Bhagavatam, I think it's fifth chapter, 23rd verse or so. Srila Prabhupada mentions how and the teachings of Bharat Maharaj. He gives the nine practices of devotional service as a suggestion to his father for what he could do to improve his life. Shravanam Kirtanam Smaranam Vishnu. For as his father was always doing Swarananda. But they were the negative things not always, but sometimes. So his father of course got very angry. But that in that purport where it says Shravanampaignment, Prabhupada mentions that we should avoid the 10 offenses while we chant. He said that in case he commits some offenses to the Holy Name, which probably will all be interluded, then it's recommended to chant certain prayers and glory of the Holy Name. And one of those prayers was the Rupa Goswat Krishna Ashtakam, eight verses glorifying the Holy name of Krishna. Those eight verses very systematically tell glories of the Holy Name. That's one way of getting purified. One of the important features of this prayer is how the Holy Name is addressed to as Nama Prabhu as my dear holy name of Ka, not as an it or a that something impressing them. Also in the very first verse it says that all the Upanishads are glorifying you, my dear holy name of Krishna and explaining how the impersonal Brahma Jyoti is emanating from your lotus deep. At face value you would think that the verses that are glorifying Krishna and Lord Vishnu and the Lord's feet of the Vishnu are emanating the Brahma Jyoti. But Rupa Goswami reverses the presentations of the Guru finding the Holy name. And from the Holy Name the impressive run agility is emanated from his lotus feet, really bringing it home at least to me. How the Holy Name is non different from Krishna. Whenever it tells the shastras tell the glories of Ka, they're telling us the glories of the Holy Name. No higher truth than you are Krishna. No higher truth than you. Holy name of Krishna. Holy name of Krishna is also pretty much, as I said, the person. So we need to develop our personal relationship with the Holy Name. When we chant negligently, when we commit the different offenses to the Holy Name, we're offending the person Krishna. Like in some religions, they also say don't change the name of God in vain. It's another kind of inattentive or offensive chanting. So but Lord Shetania normally that's why apart from the priests, people wouldn't chant the holy names. We were so much afraid of making an offense. It's actually Lord Chaitanya has given us a special mercy that we can chant the Holy Name without offenses by following his instructions. So first we chant Sri Krishna Chayitanya Prabone. Then we chant. So that's to get the blessings of what you're telling me. When I preach a big pando programs and Indians sometimes help me go. How many of you have cellular phones? You have to dial some kind of code to get your area code or something to get your number. And then everybody nowadays even the big shop, I always have mobile phones. And fishermen call in and say how big the catch was. I think everybody the thing known it's pretty cheap. You can get mobile phone connection in India for 100 rupees or $2 apart from the apparatus. So everybody has. Just like you have to dial in your code before you want to get in contact with Krishna. You have to give the code, the access code. So that's this Pansatatva mantra. Get everyone to chant them. That's how we root our call. We're going through this particular company, this particular line. And the advantage of that is you get this special mercy from what she'd done you and just see this, what's going on on the Internet. So we need to be very careful when we chant. We need to chant. In fact, scriptures say that even if we do, offensive chanting is better than not chanting at all. And by chanting Shaitanya's holy name, we diminish those offenses. Also. Unfortunately, Ajahmiel, he had no shelter. It showed he had this intelligence. He had his knowledge, he had his upbringing, he had his social pressure. But his lust was pushing him so much that Cupid got in his heart. Cupid was getting him with the arrows. Somehow he became very attached to that lady had seen in the forest, in the street, a prostitute. So that was his downcoming. He tried to control with his intelligence, but he wasn't protected by Ka. That's why we need the protection of Ka so much. Krishna explains in the Bhagavad Gita Devihesha Gunamayama Yadav Khayyam that this illusory energy of mine is so powerful it is very difficult to overcome. Almost you can say impossible. But if someone takes shelter of me, I cross them over this illusory energy. So Ajamil, in his early life he didn't take shelter of Krishna. Therefore he fell alone. But somehow accidentally became into his culture by some good fortune. Because he was born in a Brahmin family. So he called his son Narayan. Inadvertently, accidentally, he was taking shelter of the holy name of Narayan. In his advanced years, he had an older age, he had young son. Can be really affectionate to your youngest child. Always was calling him, eating with him, calling him Narayana. Narayana. Come here, Narayana. Let's go for a walk. Narayana. Narayana. Sit down. Take the shadow. So like somehow he kept calling Darayan a D. And he liked to call his son James and make a point of calling to go to bed. So by chanting Nirayana he was getting purified. Even he didn't know it. So that's anyway. But how what he was getting purified from where he was, how he felt. This is the of his life. The holy name is very personal. This person is there to help us, should be our constant companion. I heard that today was also the special day of Ganges Puja or Ganges appearance in the Panjit and the Albane. In the spiritual world, everything is personal. And although the Ganges is a river and people don't consider rivers to be persons. But in India they consider them persons. And India, the Ganges is a very holy person. She is a sacred deity. She's worshipped as a deity in India. A bona fide, not a speculated one. Descriptions of her are in the scripture. She writes on a crocodile Baham crocodile transporter vehicle. She is very white in complexion. Light green. She has light white, green color clothing carries Pancha lotus, very merciful dimension. The Naganga Safari presentation which I gave. Thank you for last. The reading from Vijayapaloo's book about the glories of Mother Ganges. And in there it quotes from the Spanda Purana how in the ancient Kali, the Yajna we know as the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. And the austerity or tapa is to bathe in the Ganthis. So how the Ganges purifies us in so many ways. It's beautiful. I just read about 30 of those verses. I couldn't stop. It was so wonderful. It's where Maranasi. We're in front of the Ganges. When he took Sannyas, he went from the Ganges side inland to the west. And he got to a place where there was Tarageshwar temple, Tarkeswar. This is the temple near Baldenwood. So that he was going to the temple. And then as he was starting his journey, all the children would be chanting Hare Krishna. But as he was going further away, not so many people were chanting Hare Krishna. So then he told me, Tinanda Prabhu, that I'm feeling too much separation from the Ganges. I cannot go without the Ganges. So he turned back and head to the Ganges. Then after a while people started chanting Hare Krishna again. Yes. Why do you chant Hari kitchen? So we don't know. Because you're living nearby the Ganges. The breeze from the Ganges is bringing Ganges liquid Krishna Prema. And the breeze from the Ganges brings that like perfume of liquid level gadgets. And that inspires people to chant. It's a little bit too far away from the Ganges and the moon have the same effect. So then he went to back to the gang. Of course Lord Nityananda went ahead of him and told the cow herd boys that were there that when Mochitanya comes, he'd ask you, where is the. Where is Vrindavan? Point south. It's not like that's Ramaya for this Gupta Vrindavan. But it'll be an ecstasy, so you won't know the difference. So then he jumped in the river and floated down From Katwad to Mayapur and told Mother Sachi to go to Shantipur. Then he floated down from Katwad, Sushantipur. So These are like 45 km swims. I mean, by road it's 45 km. I don't know why the organic occurs so maybe 60 km about 40 miles. One year the local people had a special race from Katwada Maya for commemorating Nithyananda's swim with like Olympic swimming or swimmers with rescue boats in case there was any difficulty. I think like somehow they remember Utananda watch Italian. When he saw the Genshis, he just the Oso Kridana delayed to take his bath to dump in. So said that Visha gave his mercy to the Jumuna, right? Jamuna, Tila Bonachari. All the time Krishna was bathing in the Jamuna. So the Ganga was feeling separation. I'm not feeling the mercy. So Lord Chaitanya, he gave his mercy to the Ganges. Even as a child he was bathed in the Ganges regularly went and had his childhood pastimes. One day there was a Brahmana chanting his Gayatri in the Ganges. And he said the water was coming up to his neck and going down and coming up to his neck. What's going on? Why is the river water going up and down? Is not high tide just coming up? And he looked to his left and he saw there was this golden boy walking on the side of the Ganges. And as the boy was going a little bit up on the river bank the Ganges would rise up and keep touching his lotus feet. And as he would walk down and the Ganges level would go down and up, fighting the boy to the horseman. What is this? This is a unique phenomenon. It's like as if the Ganges was magnetically attracted to his Lord's feet. And then the boy went up on the bank too far for the Ganges to reach. And out from the Ganges came the deity of the Mother Ganges. The personification, the deity. Now this Sadhu was a devotee of the Yanga. He never in his whole life had seen the deity. And again he's worshipped every day. Puja Karvana. So many things. There's a special worship you do for your forefathers where you take your brahminta and put it on the other side. Just take the water. And then they say the Karpur, the mantra and offer to the right side. And that offers the benefit of the Ganges blessing to the forefather. Foremother. So people that do this regularly. We all do it during the month of November during Bhishma Pansaka for Bhishma Deva. Because he has no children. So only the devotees endure for him. Because he was away from Brahmachari. So there's this Ka range that he Samantha summons of Brahmachari maybe normal. And for him they took that vow. But there are millions of people all over India doing Karavana and Bishop Panchakra for him. There were millions or thousands or hundreds. Quite a few at least in my number. 250. So anyway, this Brahmana, he was at the holy of the Ganges. He saw the Ganges rising up and coming out of the river. So he ran over there to see what's going on and bow down. And he saw the Ganges was praying to this golden boy. My Lord, my Lord. Bless me, my man. Offering stutis and prayers. Then she went back into the water, disappeared. So the Brahmin knew that Ganga is the devotee of Vishnu. She is the energy of Vishnu, she said. So how is it that she is offering that you bow down? You must be Vishnu. You must be Krishna. Please reveal to me who you are. There was nobody around there. So Lord Chaitanya revealed his form as Krishna too, or boy to the Sadhguru. He said, I come here in this form, in this disguise to have my pastimes as a devotee. If you want to stay and watch, you can. But if you tell anybody about this pastime while I am still present on the world, I will transfer you back. You won't be able to stay top secret. Okay? Obviously you told people after Rajshatan, they left. As you know about it. That's okay. It was all right. So like so many the pastimes of the Ganges Parikrama, we go to a place called Samudra Gara, which is the southern tip of Mavadvi town. And there's two pastimes happened there. Samudrasena, the king under Dwarfara Yuga, who had a fight with Bhima Deva in order to force Krishna to come and give him blessings. That place has to happen there. But also this place is where the tide comes up to that place. And some very high tides. The ocean comes up to touch the tip of Navadip dam to get the blessings. So one time the ocean, the deity of the ocean talked to the Ganges and said, you are so blessed. Lord Chaitanya obeyed in your holy waters. Nandiri. The Ganges told the ocean. But he left me to go to Jagannari and bathe in your waters. So you're more blessed than I am. The ocean said that was for 18 years he was in Jagannathpuri. But he's eternally residing in Avadi dawn. And he's bathing in your waters. And his Apra Kadvila. His unmanifested pastimes. So like there's that pastime which we travel, we know to Savodragara to see the actual place. So it shows how much connected what Chaitanya is and how much the Ganges is connected. There's a pastime in Patna Puran about the glories of the Ganges. There was one devotee. I forget his name. I know. Here's the names of this devotee. Anyway, he would go every day to the Ganges and bathe. And he would do Puja and offer the water to the Ganges. Then he would take a bucket of Ganges water to his house to sprinkle on his wife and children and everybody's head and use it for his daily worship. There was another so called Brahmin. He was a Brahmapamdu born in a Brahmin family. But he had fallen from the standard something like Ajamyom. He became a politician. He was working in a king's court like a lobbyist or something. And I saw some kind of a courtier dressed like a Brahmin. But he was engaged in a lot of simple activities. He had extramarital relations. He caused one lady to have an abortion. It's all really. He was a low life. All kinds of things which were involved in murders, intrigues. But it looked like the Brahmin dressed like the Brahmin. He had a weird. His name was. I forget. I forget what his name was too. But it was like an auspicious name. He happened to be walking on the road nearby the Ganges. And there was a bull. On a warm summer day. Just like down here in the warm India, it's warm. He was lying across the road with his tail. Everything. The whole road was black. And this passionate politico, politician, fallen Brahmin. He was angry easily. What is this stupid bull doing blocking the road? Especially to walk around him with the mud on the side. Just this stupid thing, you know. There was a stick there. Some branches picked it up. Gave a big swat to the bull. This bull was really not disturbing anybody sleeping. Some crazy guy comes and hits him with a stick. He didn't appreciate. You going to mess around with bulls. You better know what you're doing. This was a Big bull, everybody, big bowl. To block the road. He got up and started snorting. And he attacked the Brahmin, the fallen Brahmin. And this happened to have big horns. And he gouged him right in the chest with his horn, threw him up in the ice, flew in the air by his 10, 20ft, fell down on the road. His horn had pierced his heart. And he was there, lying on the road, dead. Instant dead when the bull went off. I'll mess with me again. Chandlankyapan and says, don't trust animals with horns, knaves or claws. I was once in my airport, attacked by a bullock. He put the horn right on my neck, pushed me down on the ground. Fortunately, the horn was two sides of my neck. If it was one in the middle, I would have done dead. I don't know what I did wrong, but I did something wrong. He didn't like me at that point, just jumping. Unfortunately, the cowman was there. I think what he's doing. Start grabbing them. Learn. You don't know what you're doing. They can be pretty handy. So I had some experience, of course, also clowns, with the bulls. Sometimes you see my pictures. She tell me to share that mean of dying with the bulls. The bullocks, they're quite intelligent. You give, you know, for horses you have to have straps. For bulls, you just give bull axes. Their voice command. In the west, they have their own command. Here, you know, American boys come in, but in India they have a Bengali. I don't know, maybe in different states they have different ones, but I've learned the Bengali ones. So you're going instead. You want to turn left. You want to turn. You just start giving the command to turn to the bull. Give me my first time around. I said, gore, gore, gore. That's what the guy told me. Go gore. Gore means turn. He turned around. Then he said, you know, tell the one on the left to move over. How do you say that? Say ba, ba ba ba. That's the word short for vajmiki. And then when the other right one will go over, they want to go on the right nose. They'll tell them, go, da, da, da, da. That's short for dan mihi, which is right. And then whatever you tell them, they do it. And they said, watch out, the bull's foot is going too close to the plow. If it hits that plow, cut the foot, follow the finished golight. So then tell me, what's the word for that? And he said, say pa, pa, pa. Watch out for your pada. Your foot. So that's the five, four mantras. They may have some more. But elephant has 30 mantras. I don't know how many more that the bulls have stopped go through. Anyway, I was impressed that they answered the wise commander of people and also have some healthy respect as they want to get in the front of the horns. Anyway, this Brahmin, he was finished by the bull. Bull went off. It just so happened. The other Brahmana who was the devotee of the Ganges, coming by with his bucket of Ganges water. And he sees someone dressed as a Brahmana with a big bowl on his heart lying down on the boat and he sprinkles him with the Ganges water. He said, oh, poor guy, what happened? He sprinkled some gun on his body and then he went off. As he went off he started seeing all kinds of wounded Yamadutas. The arms caught with bleeding, smashed. Normally don't see Yamaduttas but somehow he was able to see them. And then he asked, you know what happened to you guys? What happened to us? It's all because of you. Because of me? What did I do? It's all because of you. You don't know what you did. We were there arresting. That guy was a worse sinner. We were arresting him. We had the ropes around his neck. And you go and sprinkle Ganges water on his body. You know what happened? Four Yahavishnutas appeared. They told us to get off. But now that body belongs to them. Because purified by the Ganges. We didn't know anything about who these people were. We said, come on, he's a sinner. He did abortion first. He did. This guy buried his body in some remote place. He did so many sins. We got a special. We made a special hell for him. We got a designer hell. But the Vishuddudas, they wouldn't listen to us. They told us, no, you don't know. The Ganges is the Charyam Rita of Lord Vishnu. When he's been bathed by the Ganges water, his body is purified. His sins are absolved. So. But there was a fight. We didn't accept it. We didn't know. When we attacked these Vishnu duttas and they set their Sudarshan chakra is on us. And he got cut. Look at my hands. Cut off. His leg is cut. We're all Misha. We were massacred by them. They didn't kill us, but they did. They really were destroyed by these people. And they took by force the souls of that sinful Brahmin and took them back to Godhead. So it's all because of you we're suffering. So when the Brahmin heard all that, looked at his little bucket and said wow, this water did all that. He went back to the Ganges, looked at the same body people. Paul said, but he knew what happened on the subtle plane, went back to the Ganges, offered his obeisances again and again and again. He composed a hundred prayers to the Ganges that I've been just treating you ordinarily, thinking you as an ordinary. Maybe I worshiped you, but not with so much faith. And I know you know, he was just overwhelmed with devotion when his faith was so much strengthened by hearing and seeing massacre Yamaduttas from his little sprinkling of water. So he was offering his prayers to the Ganges and the deity of the Ganges appeared to him, which is very rare and blessed him. He said, what blessing do you want? He said, well, I want a blessing. When I die, my body can be washed with pure water. I want to put that in my will also. If I can take birth, if I can serve Krishna internally, it will be that blessing. If I'm not able to serve him in the spiritual world, that I can take birth by your side and serve you. He asked for some blessings. So this other Ganches is very merciful. Do you believe it? Unfortunately we are. I mean, it says people live near the Ganges. You don't take the bath of the Ganthis off. People live in my uncle. And then everyone goes to the Ganges. Right there. She's right there. So you. But people go from a long way. They go for thousands of miles just to be in the Ganges. I was living here in the Ganges. They felt again very fortunate. I have some disciples bring up brass containers of banshees water to my room. So in the morning from Mangalag there's no time to go. At base there's one brass communal ranches water every morning. Then I go to the bay and be entrusted whenever possible. So anyway, we decided that we're going to. We're doing from the Prabhupada Samadhi Gandal Puja. The tourists come and we're going to develop that more and we're going to build some special kind of floating Ganga puja dots and rafts for doing regular Ganges Puja on the side of the Ganges by the Samadhi that they're probably loved. And always after seeing all the young approaches we saw on mission, he Shamped we had to do our own Ganges Puja one chaitan especially love the Ganges. Prabhupada told us that he wanted to pray every day in the Ganges of make his life longer also by giving the Ganges of fear of bad health his good health. Today is herbuja day. I thought we should remember. Of course we can also bathe in the Ganthis right here. You know how you do that? If you loudly call out the name ganga anywhere within 100,000 yojanas which we call women, you can get the effect of eight Go. Go big thank you very. Any questions? Lexi? Unless one is very strong in knowledge, patience, proper bodily, mental, intellectual behavior, controlling one's lusty desires is extremely integrated. My question is proper body, mental and intellectual behavior. Here we are in the middle of Kali Yuga. So many cultures coming together to form this ISKCON society and there's so much question about what from the Vaishnava perspective, what would be proper body, mental and intellectual behavior for a devotee? What happened to them? He's asking what should be the proper behavior in Islam or bodily. Proper bodily, mental, intellectual behavior. Considering we're a multicultural melting pot, but we're trying to follow the Vaishnav culture. So I think part of your question gives the key to the answer that the Vaishnav culture is what unifies us. We may be from different backgrounds and different ethnic and other national origins, but we're all united together following the Vaishnava culture which is a kind of Daiva Varn ashram for the within hours Varna ashram rather within our whatever ashram we're in that we are behaving according to that ashram. There would be one definition of proper bodily mental activity. Bodily activity. We can see it, we can govern it. Not into be careful how we deal with objects of our love, objects of attraction, whatever they may be. Most people the opposite gender and the other things. And if somebody eats two men like one drop or somebody. I was sitting in the room on some drop but was approached by one Brahmachari that said it was being affected by some kind of lust. Then Brahmapur asked that do you eat a lot of sweets? He said, yes, I love sweets. Why don't you cut those down? Brahmachari said not eating too many sweets. Somebody else was having difficulty getting up in the morning and sometimes had to eat heavy meal at night. Because in India sometimes people are officially eating a big mound of rice at 9 and 10 o' clock at night. It's pretty hard to get up in the morning. But it's kind of like it's the normal culture to eat a big meal at night. Kind of Vaishnav culture is to take a bigger meal at lunch and take a light meal at night. So like that there were some eating habits, association habits, different kinds of habits are there. Aribhati Lodge talks a lot about the details about this. And the principles are given in the Rupa Goswami's connector of devotion, the Vaiti Rasamvita Sindha. But you're being very strong, patient. Problems and desires are like itching and you want to scratch it. Then this air that you shouldn't fulfill. You have to patient and tolerate. Let it go away. That's very difficult. Then the other side is your mental intellectual behavior. For a while it seems that Jamil was acting quite properly. He was putting on the show. But in his mind he was just non stop remembering this lady. Even though he had a beautiful wife. Even though he had all the everything needed for having normal lifestyle Brahmana life, mentally he was unable to control. That's also important that we may physically not break a principle. But if we are mentally allowing our mind to break the principles or to think of objects of the senses in an improper way. That's why the Lord of man sees every lady as a mother except his wife sees other people's property as garbage in the street. There are certain behavioral norms and moral guides have also given us. So the mental intellectual behavior where that's not visible. But someone has to continually be fighting with the mind. Once not following the sensual life trade these proud laymen mind will be more strong, be more difficult to control and become a Buddha sense of a Goswami. The principle of following Vaishnava culture. Vaishnava tradition according to our respective ashram, even he was in an ashram. But also the other thing is that we really take shelter of Ka. Prabhupada was making a point here that's very big. Unless you're very just by sheer willpower, you really have to be together. And that brings I think your point to the light. We try to do everything right culturally, according to Sadhana, according to etiquette. But the other side is that we have to take shelter of Ka. Just like the Bhagavacham says that if a husband and wife have the argument and the husband gets angry, the wife is angry, the husband gets angry. Rather than coming down to some kind of domestic violence or some kind of mourn or whatever, instead of coming down to that level and escalating things. I let her husband go for a walk Retreatful retreat not extend the argument. There are all kinds of guidelines but how are we going to follow those guidelines at the time when we need to? That's where we have to really pray every day before the needy is not to fall down. May the Guru forgive us for offenses. Give me our protection that don't fall down, don't deviate. All these things are about deviation. That's our mental and intellectual behavior. One sense of our thoughts are relieved that Shankara or Ka we don't have Ka's shelter then we're in big trouble. We're having this problem in Mayapur. We got a multi racial pre host area and we're trying to build a community there. We had some Istik Osteats in the past we have to have lots more in the future. More or less recently prehost council just discussed these issues and then coordinating the Asta pairs and extra Sita Lo is right now I think backing is the chairman of Bangalore. She was. She's a member. She was chairman maybe this Ganga D But I get a ex official representative of the Sudan Governing Council in Mayapur to give their input about Mihas the situation. So for us it's very important to learn that somehow we have a very large Brahmachari population about 500 Brahmacharis. I mean that's the largest in the world I think. And then we have quite a large kiaska talking about 4, 500 including kids, thousand devotees. So it's quite a challenge. How so? We have a Brahmachari council for the Brahmacharis. We have Rihasta council and we're trying to work together to have that we can't really need the Rihastis to they're living there and it's a different. I mean everybody lives off a lot of people. Most people live off the property. So they got. They're their own custodians. But we have a situation we're living on the holy land, living on the devious property. So although they're independent Mihastas there are certain norms that they have to follow. How to make those in such a way that everybody's comfortable at the same time what Prabhupada wanted we're looking forward to more Prabhupada disciples. So even Myan Kuhburg to help to increase that Anguilla stature And the Rehasa some here, some Rehastas and Elisha told me they're very interested to go and spend Some time in Mayanpur. So it looks very positive, but we have a long way to go. I mean, it's a big experiment. We're having different kinds of communities, how to handle, how to help people back them up. We were discussing last night that if all the devotees and Alexwa could be active in some kind of preaching work, then there could be established some kind of groups, whether it's the counselor group for the maybe the best for initiated devotees, whether for preaching and outreach, or also prepare for devotees in your bhakti dictionary group, where there's already a lot of nahak activity going on. Somehow when people are active with teaching, it helps to purify our hearts, to rid us from the offenses that block us from getting the mercy of Krishna. And I think by getting the older devotees and give care to the younger devotees, that would make the whole congregation that we have here, the big, large community, much more protected. Otherwise, if you just have your own, like Al Shavil, you might be a really good prophet. But if you're not chanting at 16 rounds and you're not very strong and lust is very powerful, it would be much better if you had some backup, you had some counsel. You told you what should they do? I know it's like guru. I have disciples come with this kind of problem all the time. And I have to give them some kind of way to get more shelter Visha and help them. Those who don't come to me some time ago, maybe they have problems. I don't know. I know that. But what can one guru do with so many disciples? We need all the help from all the senior Vaishnavas. That's what it's how. These group programs are very helpful, especially counselor and namah, like Yuriksha. You get more interactive care for devotees. Namahada is more like a reaching Holy Ghost with a general association. So we're trying to encourage last night at the house program and give everybody to final something like that. It'll be very. It'll be good for the older devotees to remember if we get counseling and we see Shangharu for younger devotees, good for the whole community to get that kind of support. And really this is a good time to bring it up because we see Ajamil, he didn't take shelter, didn't have the right support, wasn't very strong in his devotion. Certainly was worshipping his Shelly Ram sheilas, maybe of doing some kind of helping his brother worship the sheilas, but wasn't enough. He wasn't enough to protect him. He lost everything only by sheer mercy because of some Bhagat's secretary. He got it on the rebound. And there's a lot of people that don't get the same final mercy. But Acmilian, I'm sure there's a lot of people that thank you for watching our video. Be sure to subscribe to our channel. We publish new videos every day.
