Jayapataka Swami gives a spoken talk (YouTube) drawing on the Bhagavad Gita and Vaishnava devotional (Krishna/Ka) teachings to explain how to overcome attachment, fear, and anger. He advises redirecting attachment toward Krishna and His service, reframing anger as either material (egotistic) or 'Ka-conscious' (protective of devotees), and treating fear as mitigated by trust in Krishna’s protection; the talk includes contemporary examples (a Baton Rouge shooting) and applied warnings.

Attachment here in how to Overcome. There's a verse of this in the Bhagavad Gita and some advice is given there. But in a nutshell, we want to dovetail everything with Ka Consciousness. Instead of being attached to the material world, we are more attached to Ka and His service. And anger. Instead of being angry because our ego is quenched, because someone is not giving us the sense gratification we want, or because someone is criticizing us unnecessarily, unconstructively, then if you get angry, that's material. But if someone offends a devotee or Ka, if we get angry, that's Ka conscious. So anger. We try to use it for the right reason and anger for the wrong reason. And since Ka promises he will protect his devotee, any bhakta prana, my devotee will never be destroyed. So why should we have any fear? Fear is a part of the material world. And fear means that we take it as a caution. But we don't actually fear absolutely. Because we are dependent on the mercy and protection of Ka. But if he tells us in our mind that going to this place is dangerous now we take that also. A warning by Krishna. Just like now. I saw in the news that in Louisiana some people were killed in Baton Rouge. So you live on the border of Louisiana? Hidakshida, she lives in Nantara which is on the border of Louisiana and Mississippi. Pku. So Krishna warned you that you shouldn't go to Baton Rouge because there were people shooting there.
