Prayers for HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaja Speedy Recovery

The devotees from Yatra is actually 30 years old Yatra which was started by His Grace Vaikunta Pati Prabhu as per the instruction which he received from His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Maharaj. And it's for the health of Jayapataka Swami Maharaj we all have assembled today and let's all join together and pray for his health and long life. In fact, recently I read an article where His Grace Sarojay Madhav Prabhu from us mentioned that let's pray that Guru Maharaj lives 108 years because Srila Prabhupada established 108 temples before he left this world. So let's pray for the health of Gurmaharaj. Today's program it will be after my small introduction speech, there will be Kirtan for about half an hour, 30 minutes by the Kirtan department of Krishna Gathadesh and then His Grace Vaikunta Pradeep Prabhu will be introducing and glorifying Guru Maharaj for about half an hour. And then we will be chanting four rounds. There is a possibility the sequence might change, but this is what the program is. So after my introduction we will have half an hour Kirtan and then glorification of Guru Maharaj and then four rounds of chanting and then Dhanvantari prayer and Narasimha prayer and then the closure of Today's program at 8. Thank you. First of all, I would like to thank the organizers for giving me this opportunity to glorify our Guru Maharaj. Our Guru Maharaj is so great that how much soever we glorify him, that will be insufficient. It will need lots and lots of time to glorify our Guru Maharaj because he has achieved so much and he has set such a wonderful example for all of us. Like how to be a a real disciple of a guru. You Know, he has been doing everything to fulfill the desires of his Guru Maharaj. Srila Prabhupada. In the 10th canto, in the discussion between Udava and Sri Krishna, Krishna is.

Saying.

Consider the Acharya to be myself. He says, you know, consider the Acharya to be myself. And do not. And do not think that the Acharya is an ordinary person. How aptly when you read this and just compare it with our Guru Maharaj, we can make out that our Gurmaj is not an ordinary person. Understand that Acharya is myself. And do not think that he is an ordinary person. Do not envy him. Do not. First he said, do not disrespect him in any way. And then he says, which means that do not be envious of him, thinking him to be an ordinary person. Somebody is saying, there is no sound. Prabhu. Are you people able to hear or not able to hear? Okay, all right. Yeah. It says that means what? Do not think him to be an ordinary person and be envious of him. For he is the representative of all the Devatas. Just look at our Gurmaraj, how great he is. And all these points, what we read in this 10th canto and this discussion between Uddhava and Sri Krishna that we can see in our Guru Maharaj. Because an ordinary person cannot do whatever Guru Maharaj has done so much. An ordinary person cannot do what Srila Prabhupada has done so much. And our Guru Mahja is so much empowered by his Guru Prabhupada and by Lord Sri Krishna that he has achieved so much in his life. Even in fact, all the devotees in Krishna Katadesh, we all should be so much thankful to our Gur Maharaj for giving us this Krishna Consciousness. It was his desire to set up a center in Krishna Katadish. It was his desire. And it got fulfilled by Lord Krishna and by his Guru Turpa Prasad Bhagavad Prasadu. See, it was his desire. And Krishna made sure that that desire is fulfilled. He may think that so and so has come here and he has set up a center and it has grown big. He is the one who cultivated. No, no, nothing like that. It is simply the Guru's desire to set up a nice center in the middle of the desert and cultivate Krishna consciousness here. Give this Krishna Consciousness to so many experts coming here to do their livelihood, to earn their livelihood. And this happened some 30 years back. It was simply because of. It is simply because of Guru Maharaja's desire. And let also Understand that because Gurumaj wanted this, it got fulfilled. And further on that it went. Sorry. And whenever Guru Mahaji used to visit our place, Krishna Kada. In fact, whichever place Yatra he visits, you will see that that place is like a. It is like a festival. At that time we know that Guru Mahaj used to come for a day or A2. And the entire place turns out to be like a festival in a desert. Just like a drop of water in an oasis, you know, in a desert. It was like for all of us there. How Lord Vishnu he told. He called Brahma and told him that you create this Brahman. Brahma did everything. Brahma created this beautiful universe. He had this 14 planetary systems. He did. He cultivated. He. He created 8,400,000 species of lives. He created so many things he did this way. Was it a easy task for him to do all these things? So much of obstacles, so much of what you call that so much of impediments. So many opposition, so many people not willing to do what Brahma wants to do. Like his own sons. Four kumaras they did not want to do what Brahma wanted. Brahma said, you need to populate this world. 4 Kumara said, no, sorry, this is not our job. We will not do it. But in spite of that, Brahma went ahead and created this beautiful universe. Similarly, in the 70s, our Guru Maharaj was handed over this Mayapur, the marshy land, and was told. Trupada told him, I am giving you this kingdom of God. Develop it. You think developing Mayapur to this current stage was a very easy task? It was so easy that Guru Maharaj came and he did everything and it ended up no. Guru Mahj also had to face a lot of impediments. He had to face a lot of opposition. He had to face a lot of obstacles. There was a shortage of manpower. There was a shortage of money, power. All these things were there. But in spite of all these things, Guru Mah said and did everything and cultivated that place and has brought it to what it is today. In this stage, like many people in this world, they never even ask this question. How this world was created? Who created this world? People do not ask that question like that. Nowadays you find so many people. Thousands and thousands of people visit Mayapur from all over the world. Not everyone asks how was this Mayapur developed? How was this? How did this Mayapur come to this particular sh. How was it? Before nobody asked this question. Our Guru Maharaj disciple, our God brothers and God sisters. Yes, we all know that it has been developed by our Guru Maharaj. But many of the outsiders, they really, they may or may not. So it becomes a duty of all we disciples to glorify our Guru Maharaj and make others also aware that this was a marshy land which was developed by Gur Maharaj. This was given by Prabhupada. And whatever Prabhupada said, Guru Maharaj took it as his life and soul and developed this place and has brought it to this belt. Many people come, many people also find a fault with this place. But they never understand the difficulties what that has gone through. So once I remember long time back, you know, when there was some discussion, I was in Mayapur. And at that time somebody was telling something. It's not like this. It's not good that this and all those things. So our Guru Mahj was told him that you are telling all these things. But tell me what the solution is for this that will be more valuable rather than just finding faults with the place. So that is very common for everyone. We all try to find a fault, but we don't come out with a real solution. But Guru Maharaj, he finds the solutions for the problems and he takes it. Classic example is Mayapur itself as that. Now we all know that ISKCON and Krishna consciousness has spread to every nook and corner of India. Wherever you go, you find people know about iskcon. Even the remotest part, people know ISKCON and they'll at least know it as Hare Krishna. They will know it. And there are and it has been everywhere. As I said, every nook and corner of India you'll find this ISKCON and Hare Krishna running. There are devotees spread all over India. Is there two persons, two personalities of ISKCON have been mainly responsible for developing Krishna consciousness and spreading Krishna consciousness all over India. One is His Holiness Gopalakrishna Swami Maharaj and another is His Holiness Shla Jayapataka Swami Guru Maharaj Goswami Maharaj. He focused on North India and Western India. And our Guru Maharaj Swami Guru Maharaj, he focused on South India and Eastern India and also of course on Bangladesh. Of course they were also assisted by many Maharajas. No doubt like Banu Maharaj was there then Nagar Swami Maharaj was there. Maharaj is like that Bhakti Vika Swami Maharaj is developing Salem temple. So there are others also who have helped. But the main responsibility to spread this Krishna conscious in all these places were taken by these two personalities. Coming to our Guru Maharaj, the entire South India and Eastern India What a development they have done. If you look at it now, South India has got at least about 75 centers and temples. East India has got almost about 80 centers and temples. And I'm not talking of Bangladesh. Bangladesh has got another 100 centers. Just think of this mammoth efforts put into establish ISKCON everywhere. And how many and how much? How many outposts, how many Namahatas? How many Bhakti Vrikshas? Countless there. And how many devotees are there? Thousands and thousands and thousands. Is it possible to do such a mammoth job unless one is empowered to do it? That is another classic case where we can see our Guru Maharaj has been so much empowered that he could really go and spread Ka Consciousness to thousands and thousands of people in all these places. Not an easy task. But he could do that, is it not? Unless that empowerment comes from his Guru and from Lord Krishna and the Guru Parampara. How is it possible? Just like Prabhupada went to America to spread Krishna consciousness and Prabhupada said I have been. He had the blessings of his Guru Bhakti Siddhanta, Saraswati, Goswam Maharaj and also the previous Parampara and Lord Krishna. Similarly, our Guru Mahaja is also an empowered personality. He is not an ordinary person. He is an empowered personality. And whatever he desires, that takes place, that happens. So our approach to Guru Maharaj has to be accordingly. We have to know how our approach to Gurmaj should be. Gurmaj should not be treated like an ordinary person. He is a great personality. We have to realize this. Regarding this number of devotees, what I said thousands and thousands of devotees. Of course, I'm not aware whether there is any data maintained or of how many devotees are there. About that I doubt whether there is any data available on that. But we can visualize how much it will be if there are 80 centers here and if the 75 centers in South India and all what a number of. And with so many outposts and Bti Vriksha cells, Namatas, quite a number of devotees must be there everywhere. Now we all know Gurmaja's Guru Maharaja's physical condition is bad. We know that he is dependent on his sevaks even for the basic requirements of day to day activity. Yes, is dependent on that. But in spite of all these things, Guru Maharaj has been traveling. I'm not talking about immediately now, but even if you take about six months before also he has been traveling. Guru Mahj has been traveling and he has been preaching even when he is in the hospital he has been trying to preach to the doctors, nurses, ward boys, and also he is talking to the other patients around and he is trying to preach to everybody. He is doing that. He is not very much affected by the bodily discomforts and the bodily difficulties that he is undergoing. This is another thing that for us to understand that Gurmaraj is not on the bodily platform. Gurmaraj is on the spiritual plane. When he used to come to Krishna Kathadesh many times suddenly, you know, in one of his visits, he used to say, I am not this body. I am not this body, you say? But people are trying to understand what is he trying to tell. At that time we couldn't understand exactly what he was telling, but he said, I'm not this body. You see, now looking back, we are able to understand what he said. Yes, really, he is not this body. He is on a totally different platform. Yes, we are all on the bodily platforms, but our Guru is not on the bodily platform. And that is why in spite of all these difficulties and all these what do you call this bodily impediments, he is able to go ahead and preach Krishna consciousness to all these people. Again, he is a standing example to all the disciples and to other devotees of ISKCON that whatever may be the bodily discomforts, do not get bogged down by that. See how we can reach Ka consciousness. And that is what the real thing is.

Guru maharaj to make 50,000 disciples. Now, as I understand, Guru Maharaj has got more than 70,000 disciples. Maybe close to around 70,000 disciples he has got. Now I have not read anywhere any guru having so many disciples. We have read the story of Durvasamuni coming with about 10,000 disciples. We have also read that Srila Prabhupada also had about 10,000 plus disciples. He had but 70,000 disciples. It's a large number. It is again see again it comes through empowerment. Prada wanted gurmaj to make 50,000. Prada crossed that and reached up to 70,000, is it not? But we have to also understand. Guru Maharaj is also struggling with his body and is also having physical discomforts he is having. And once, even when some devotees disciples asked Prabhupada why the gurus suffer, Prabhupada said that it is because of the Papa karmas of my disciples that I am undergoing these difficult challenges. The same thing here our Guru Maharaj is also undergoing these various bodily discomforts and body troubles because of the Papa karmas of the disciples. So here we need to be very Careful. At least as the disciples of Sri Lanka Swami Guru Maharaj based in Krishna Kathadesh, we all can really make sure that we don't do anything wrong because of which our Guru Maharaj has to suffer. We can do that by following the four regulatory principles very strictly. By chanting our daily 16 rounds correctly offering some of the rounds for Guru Maharaja worshipping the Lord on a daily basis for our Gur Maharaja's health. We can do all these things and we can get our. We can try how we can get our Gurmaj back to normalcy going back to the prior to pre 2000. Possibly it may. It. It looks like a big miracle. But at least by doing our Sadhanas correctly, by doing our chanting and everything correctly, at least we can make sure that Guru Maharaj doesn't suffer because of us. And that is all in our hands as disciples. And we can try to do that. That will be a great help that we can do for our Guru Maharaj. Guru Maharaj of late for the last, about. I will say about four or five years has been stressing on the Vedic studies, what he wants everyone to undergo and Mayapur institute, they said that we will offer you. So Gurumaj also wanted to do his Bhakti Shastri course and Bhaktivedanta course, Bhakti Vaiva course, everything when he's a Maharaj, Guru Maharaj with such a long standing. So. So what happened was that Maya police should say, Gurumaj, you don't have to do it. We will give you a doctorate. We can. Sorry, we can give you the certificate even without doing it. No, I don't want any such certificate. I'll be setting a very bad example by doing this. I will study, I will appear for the exams, I will clear it and then I will take the certificate. Is it necessary for our. For our Gurumas for him to do all these things? Really?

But he's a serial most GBC member also, is it not? And he has been in the movement right from when he was. He is in. From his late. Sorry, from his 1820s he's there in the movement. He was 18 years old, he joined the movement and from that time onwards he's there for 70. This recently we celebrated 75th Vyasa Pujas, you know, until for 60 years he's in the movement 50 by 60 years. So for such a person of such a great standing, is it necessary for him to write the examination and all? No, he wanted to write because he wanted to set up right example to all his Disciples and show that even I will appear for the examination. And you people also do not go for any shortcuts, appear, study and appear for the exams and pass it out. That's very important. He did that. So these are some of the great things that we have to understand about Guru and we have to see how I can follow my Guru on all these things. So I was just studying one thing when was studying this. It is said that so the translation given is this. This is the natural result of intense love of Godhead. The devotee does not consider personal inconveniences or impediments in all circumstances. He wants to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is Madhyalila 1.4.186 in the purport Srila Prabhupada is saying that such devotees are simply determined to execute the orders of the Supreme Lord or his representative, the spiritual Master. An intense lover of Krishna does not care for any number of material discomforts, scarcity, impediments or unhappiness. You see what Prabhupada is saying. An intense lover of Krishna does not care for any number of material discomforts, scarcity, impediments for unhappiness. So perfect is it not how much of discomforts and how much of impediments he is facing. Even now it is not easy for him because he has to deal with all the disciples, is attending the GBC meetings. He has started the bureau meeting. Everything is shortened, all these things and everywhere it's an intense discussion takes place. Very serious discussion takes place. They have to resolve so many issues, problems in all these meetings and all. It needs a lot of effort, lot of brain work. Also it needs. Gur Maharaj is willing to put it because he's an intense lover of the Supreme Lord and he wants to execute the orders as given by his spiritual Master. All these things. He's doing it. So this is a great thing. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts with Guru Maharaj about Guru Maharaj and I'm quite sure, I mean I'm being joined by all the entire Krishna Kathadesh devotees by Gurmaj's mercy. Currently we have nearly about 3,000 3,500 devotees in Krishna Kath spread out in spite of all the various impediments, difficulties that Yatra is growing by Guru Maharaja's mercy and many devotees from Krishna Katadesh. They have also resettled in different places all over the world holding doing real good service to Ka Consciousness and in spreading Krishna consciousness, giving it out to many New people. That's a great thing. And everything is happening by Guru Maharaj's blessings only. So on this auspicious day. Not auspicious on this day. On this occasion, I would really welcome all of you to join to chant three times for our Guru Maharaj so that he can get back to his get back to his normal health as early as possible. I understand that he has been discharged from the hospital. But it's necessary for Gurmaj to get back to his good health so that we can keep getting his inspiration. His inspiration is very, very important for all of us to sustain our Ka consciousness. That's very important, you know. So let us all together chant three times for our Guruma. Just health. So let's all thank Guru Maharaj for giving all of us an opportunity to come together and chant the Holy Name and recite Dhanvantri Mantra. And I also would like to inform all of you in your prayer. Please include his grace. Vijay Madhav Prabhu, one of the senior most devotee from Krishna Ghatash Yatra. He is hospitalized, he is not well. So when you are praying, please include him also in your prayer so that he requires fast. Vijay Madhav Prabhu is the leader, one of the senior disciple of our Guru Maharaj. A leader who has developed Eka Chakra, Dham Chakra and Krishna Tadesh. So with that we come to end of today's program again.
