In the mid month of November 1977 I was in Vrindavan. I was sent to chant for Rla Prabhupda and to get his association. In his final days around 11th November, RLA Prabhupada was visiting by one of his favorite Godbrothers Krishna Das Babaji, and Rla Prabhupada was also surrounded by many of his leading disciples. Tamal Krishna Maharaj, Satsarup Maharaj, Hamsaduta Maharaj. So many disciples were there, and Srila Prabhupada was being very, very candid. He was lying there, extremely weak, emaciated, simply living on little drops of orange juice. That's all that he could digest. And he was telling our Godbrothers, he was telling Krishna Das Babaji, he was saying, I'm lying here and all my adversaries around the world. Because at that time we were under heavy attack from the American press and other adversaries in America. And he was always also being criticized by some of these sadhus in India. And he said, they're wondering how this old man is lying here, but he's still beating on his drum. He's still playing his drum, and his drum is going all over the world. Rla Prabhupada's Briha Madanga kept beating and beating. And Rla Prabhupada was kind of chuckling when he said, said it. Many times. They would ask us, as Rla Prabhupada when he was traveling throughout the world, what will happen when you leave the planet? Wondering if iskcon would survive, Prabhupada said, I will never die. He would tell the television journalists, I will never die. So this Brihat Madanga of Rla Prabhupada is empowered by Lord Caitanya Mahprabhu. And it's going on for the next 10,000 years. And you, Divine Grace, have also understood how to use all those tricks perfectly well to engage all of us. Srila Prabhupada, you understood time, place and circumstance and utilized everything as a strategy for preaching. Although observing your activities with their very eyes, those who are still blind like the owls and other creatures of the night cannot see your true purpose. You preached again and again to everyone that Lord Chaitanya's method of devotional service is not performed in solitude. Just as the Lord delivered Jagayan Madhya out of his own causeless mercy. You explain to everyone that this same method of preaching work has to go on.

Savior Memorial Nama Om Bishnupadaya Krishna. Thank you for allowing me to say some realizations that I have had specific specifically in the last couple of years. Because time has passed me very quickly and I will try to say something that makes sense. And if any of you have any questions later, I will be more than happy to spend some time with you. I cannot properly explain how I feel about Rla Prabhupda but I will. I have prepared something that may make sense for you. This will take a long time. My new realization is that RLA Prabhupda has never left me. Although I have committed so many anarthas and offended Srila Prabhupda in so many ways all throughout my life whenever I looked around I always saw pictures or murtis of Rla Prabhupda in Ka. He never left me. He was always just an arm's length away. He never left me and tolerated my nonsense once in Vrindavan. And what I'm going to say about this is today I had an experience of putting Gopi Chanda on Prabhupda's murti which is also a murti that I helped to make so it's very auspicious that this is happening to me. When I was a young boy of 22 years of age, Sri Lakha Ujala and Malati Prabhu asked me to put sandalwood pulp on Rla Prabhupda's forehead. While I was putting it on his head, I realized that it would take me the rest of my life life to understand who and what RLA Prabhupda is. Now I am 75 years old and now I realize that I don't have a clue who and what he is. My teeny brain cannot comprehend the character of Srila Prabhupada. Until my dying day days I just hope to be able to follow his instructions and perform some service that will please him. Once in Vrindavan, we were at a life member's house taking prashada and after eating in an informal setting, I asked him a question. I said, since we are Satchitananda Vigraha, we are eternal, full of knowledge, blissful and possess an eternal spiritual form. If we are our own worst enemies. And he said yes, that was a good question. Up until then all my questions and statements were nonsense. He went on to explain that not only are we envious of our true self but we are envious of Ka as well. That is why we are in the material world. Then he went on to explain that not only are we envious of Ka and our true self but we are envious of the spiritual master as well. By not following the spiritual master's instructions, we display a form of envy. Because somehow or other we think we know better or not willing to follow his instructions, not following or listening to the spiritual master. And because of that envious attitude, when we do not fully surrender until we give up our envy of Ka and Guru, we remain our own worst enemy. We want paradise. But we do not want to pay the bill. The payment is full. Surrender. Then Rla Prabhupda told me to fetch a copy of the new version of the Bhagavad Gita. At that time we only had the old version of the Bhagavad Gita, the abridged edition. But he was so happy. He was almost like a young boy. He was very giddy at having had now the opportunity to have a full edition of Bhagavad Gita. Because before we were not able to properly be accepted by other sadhus and yogis and whoever because we could not quote scripture. So I brought him the Bhagavad Gita as it is. And he personally taught me the first verse of Bhagavad Gita, Dhritarashtra Uvacha Dharma Kuru Cetric. And I thought to myself, how merciful. He let me sit right next to him and with his own hands and lips he taught me the first verse. But I remember on a tape recording hearing Srila Prabhupada say, if we do not love him, at least try to remain obliged. Here I realize to some degree is the divine manifestation of God's love and mercy in the form of the spiritual master working hard to save us. And if we are too envious to surrender, he said at at minimum, just remain obliged. I am trying to love Rla Prabhupda. If I really loved him, I would surrender and follow him completely. Jaiva Takasvamy and other devotees really love him and you can see the results of their love. I am ashamed that I have fallen short of loving him. But I am obliged because I do realize the mercy he has given me. Once, in 1975, I was pretending to be Srila Prabhupda's bodyguard in Los Angeles. Daily he would hold meetings with college professors and other dignitaries in his garden. I had just finished reading a verse in purport from the Bhagavad Gita, and while Rla Prabhupda was speaking, I heard him recite verbatim exactly the same verse and purport. That's when I realized that Rla Prabhupda is non different from his words. That is why all of you who feel that you wish you had the chance to see or be be with him, you should not despair. I have met many devotees that have told me that they wish they would have had a chance to see Rla Prabhupda. Because the vani or the verbal presence of the spiritual master is more important than the Bapu, the physical presence. Technically, as in the beginning of this presentation, I told you that seeing and touching Rla Palavda was incomprehensible. Hearing his lectures or reading his books is no different than being with him personally. Again, I want you to listen very carefully. I guarantee that hearing his words are no different than being with him directly. None. Not at all. You must appreciate and understand that Rla Prabhupda is incarnated in his books. They are one and the same with him. That is the eternal divine mercy he has given the whole world. Thank you very much.

Do Summary. I can give you this, make it easy for you. Bhaktivedanta Swamini Tinamani Namaste Saraswati Dev Gauravani Picharani Nirvishe Shisha Shunyavadi Pashtacha desaturani. I'll condense this a little bit because Prabhupada is going to be giving a class in the just a few minutes and there's not much time.

In the purport I'm going to read it so that I don't ad lib and it will go quicker. But in the purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 4.28.48, I'm going to paraphrase you describe how the spiritual master, when he comes, he brings order out of disorder. But then when he leaves, to a certain extent that disorder returns. So the sincere, the faithful follower, he dedicates himself to putting this back in order, bringing back the order that was there before. Some of the senior devotees that are here can, I'm sure, vividly remember what it was like in the first 18, 20 years after Prabhupada left.

So.

Even before I discovered this purport, somehow or other I was inspired to do this kind of service. For instance, in the mid-80s in America, book distribution came almost to a complete stop. And then there were three fall downs of gurus, zonal leaders in America. And it had a devastating, devastating impact on everybody. I was with a friend, we were doing, we were doing traveling Sankirtan and we just like night after night we would talk about what happened and.

We both came to the conclusion that there was a major deviation that had taken place in our movement with the devotees not being in contact to distribute books. And so I went on a campaign with a whole team to get book distribution going again and we moved from three full time distributors to 85 in a four year period. And there's a relevant reference that I want to cite in this regard. This is a class that Prabhupada gave in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. 72 he first cited the peace formula and then he went on to say, if we really want peace, then we should understand that Ka, the supreme personality of Godhead is the enjoyer. We have to serve him for his enjoyment. That is called devotional service, transcendental loving service. Just like the Master is there and for his enjoyment there are so many servants, they are engaged in his service. That is our position. Maimaya Vamso, Jiva Loki Jiva Buddha, you take in so many ways. Our position is to serve Ka.

And.

By his pleasure we shall be pleased. Real key sentence there. When we're pleasing Ka, we're pleased, we feel the reciprocation. So then I go on to say with your amazing reciprocation and support I described earlier, you know that the increase of book distribution, I was simply a servant of the team members. That's the way I viewed myself. And because these devotees were working so hard to please Ka and you Rla Prabhupada, because it was such a high prioritized service, they were so blissful. So then I had a similar experience for 10 and a half years in my service of starting the Mayapur Institute and managing it. The following letter that you wrote to the this is an excerpt from a letter you wrote to the devotees in New York when you were in San Francisco starting the second temple. I'm just going to excerpt a key part. If you chant always Hare Ka, read my books and preach this philosophy sincerely, then Ka will provide you with all facility and you will not fall down into material entanglement. Then in a room conversation in Hyderabad he said this is also in 72 every temple should be an education center and the Brahmins should be engaged. They should be properly educated and they should teach others in this way. Every temple in this way temple means education in spiritual life. At that time, very few devotees in Mayapur and throughout the ISKCON world were systematically studying your books. I had positive experiences studying at the Vihe in Vrindavan. So I felt inspired that there was huge scope for developing something similar in Mayapur. In April of 1999, after discussing with Hari Sari Prabhu at that time he was in the Mayapur Administrative Council. He took Me for a meeting with His Holiness Jaipataka Swami and Maharaj. He loved the idea. But he gave one condition. He said, Jamastami Prabhu, you can take this service on but you have to stay with it for at least five years. I couldn't really understand why he put this condition there. But after I got into the service I understood why. It was quite a difficult service. And at that time I was always chanting my rounds in your Samadhi Srila Prabhupada. And even in the most difficult circumstances I just got so much reciprocation from you. It's like I'd walk in when a major catastrophe was going on with the service. And I felt like a tsunami of bliss just crashed on my head. So I'm just begging you. It was your love and mercy that allowed me to continue with that service. So I'm begging that you allow me to continue to serve you to my very last day. Hare Ka.

I'm grace to that. Thank you very much. We are under the nature's law. You cannot say that you are independent. Nature's law is very strict. Nature's law. Just like fire. If you touch fire, it will burn. And even a child who is innocent. If the child touches the fire, it will burn. There is no excuse. You cannot say that the child is innocent. It does not know the Effect of touching fire. She should be excused. No, ignorance is no excuse. Especially that is the state laws. You cannot say suppose you have committed some criminal act. If you please, my lord, I did not know that the after doing this act I have to suffer imprisonment. Say excuse me. No, that will be no excuse. You know or not know the law. If you have acted like that, you might suffer. This is going on so we don't believe in the next life just to avoid this consequence. But that will not excuse us. We have to accept a type of body. Otherwise how? There are so many different types of body. What is the explanation? Why different forms of body, different stages of body, defined standard of body. There is nature's law. Therefore this human form of life should be properly utilized. Not simply engaged in sense gratification like cats and dogs. That is not very responsible life. Responsible life is that I have got this improved form of life than the cats and dogs. And I've got more intelligence than the cats and dogs. If I simply utilize it for four bodily necessities of life. Four bodily necessities of life means we require some eating. The cats, dogs, human being or I could judge anyone. They require some eating. They require sleeping apartment so that is cats and dogs can sleep without apartment but sleeping required. That is pact. Eating required. That is fact and sex life. That is also pact and defense. That is also fact. But these things are common to the cats and dogs and man. Human being. What is the special feature of the human being? The special feature of the human being is that a human being can consider that I have got these rights. American or Australian or Indian body. Then what I am going to get next? What kind of body that is utilized for human intelligence? A cat and dog cannot think like that. Therefore our business should be. Now by the nature's way. I have come to this form of life by evolutionary process. Now I have got good intelligence. How I shall utilize it? That proper utilization. That proper utilization is indicated in the Vedanta philosophy. Vedanta philosophy. Perhaps you have heard the name. Veda means knowledge and on top means last stage or end. Everything has got some end. So you are being educated. You are taking education where it shall end. That is called Vedanta. Where the ultimate point. The Vedanta philosophy says that is Vedanta philosophy. Ultimate knowledge. The ultimate knowledge that is explained in the Bhagavad Gita. What is that ultimate knowledge? Bhidha ista sad Bhai ahami Vabhidam. You are cultivating knowledge. The ultimate goal of knowledge, Krishna says is to know Me bhidha ista sadbai ahami ma beetam. The whole knowledge is meant for understanding God. That is the end of knowledge. By progressive knowledge you can make progress. But unless you do not come to the point to understand what is God then your knowledge is imperfect. That is called Bizaat Brahmajikas. This human form of life. Nice facility, intelligence. Just like Australia was undeveloped since the Europeans came here. It is now very developed, resourceful. Because the intelligence has been utilized. Similarly America, many other places. So this intelligence should be utilized. But if we simply utilize this intelligence for the same purpose as the cats and dogs are engaged then it is not proper utilization. The proper utilization is Vedanta Atartha Brahmajikyasa. Now you should enquire about Brahma, the absolute that is intelligence. So people do not get to understand how nature's law is going on. Nature's law means God's law. Nature is not independent. That is stated in the Bhagavad Gita. Maya Dakshina Sacharatra. Nature is a machine. Do you think a machine works without an operator? Do you think? Is there any evidence? Now this is a machine photography. A wonderful machine. It is taking the picture and it will move. But there is an operator. Where is the machine which is working without operator? Can you give any example? Here is a machine which is working without operator. So how do you think that the nature machine is working without the supreme operator? God's instruction. How do you think it? This is not very reasonable. We have to judge. There are different evidences. One of the evidence is hypothesis. That hypothesis is that because we see that no machine works without operator. Therefore we should conclude it. Even though we do not know what is God, what is the nature. We must conclude it. That is nature is working under some supreme operator that is God. It is not necessary to see the operator. But we can guess that that must be operated. The human life is meant for finding out who is there to operate. That is human life. Other is it cats and dogs life. They are eating, sleeping, mating and dancing. That's all that is not immersive. You must find out who is the operator. This is called in Sanskrit word. Now this human form of life is meant for enquiring about this supreme operator. Now that supreme operator Krishna is so kind. He is giving evidence in the Bhagavad Gita. Now here I am under my direction the Parikiti, the nature material nature is working. So you accept. Then your business is done. And Krishna gave evidences how he is controlling the nature. When Ka was seven years old, he lived at one big mountain on his finger. That means our understanding is that there is law of gravitation. By law of gravitation, such a big mountain, it cannot stay in one man's finger. That is our calculation. But he did it. That means he counteracted the law of gravitation. That is God. So if you believe this, then you know God immediately. There is no difficulty. Just like if a child is what my dear child, do not touch fire, it will burn you. So if the child accepts, then he gets the perfect knowledge immediately. If the child does not accept, he wants to make experiment, then he will burn his fingers. So our process of knowledge we should take from the supreme authority. Then we save time for research work. That is Ka Consciousness movement. We take perfect knowledge from Ka. I may be imperfect, just like child is imperfect. Child may be imperfect, you may be imperfect. But if you take the perfect knowledge from the supreme perfect, then your knowledge is perfect. That is the process. This is called Abarohopanta knowledge coming deductive knowledge. So everything is there. And if you like to take advantage of this movement, make your life perfect, go back to home, back to Godhead. Then fully utilize this center. Our male bond center. Come here, read our books and argue. Try to understand with your full knowledge. No blindly acceptance. There is reason, there is argument, there is philosophy, there is science. Everything is there. And if you accept that simply by chanting, I shall realize that is also allowed both ways. If you accept this simple process, chant Hare Ka and realize God. That is also fact. And if you think what is this nonsense chanting Hare Krishna then you read books both ways. We are prepared. Come and take advantage of this moment. Thank you very much. Where it is stated in the scriptures that Lord Rama rides on a swan. I'm sorry, is this. We take this to mean that it's a real swan or is it something symbolic? Not symbolic, it's fact. Why do you say symbolic? Unusual. What experience you have got? You have no experience. Have you got any experience of our planetary system? What is there then? Your experience is very teeny. So you should not calculate Brahma's life and other things by your tiny experience now. But in the Bhagavad Gita it is said that the duration of life of Brahma Shahastra Yuga Padjantam or Hajjat Brahmano Vidhu. Now Brahma's life is stated in Shastra. We have already explained that we accept the authoritative statement of Sastra. Now Brahma's life is stated there. Or hop means his one day is equal to our four dugas. Four jugas means 4,300 4,300,000 years and multiply it by 1,000. Sahasra yuga patchantam sahasra means 1,000. And yuga means the 4,300,000 years makes a Jew and multiplied by 1,000 that period is Brahma's one day. Similarly he has got one night. Similarly he has got one month. Similarly he has got one year. And such hundred years he will live and calculate how it is within your experience. You think something mysterious. No, your experience is nothing. Therefore you have to take experience from the perfect person Ka. Then your knowledge is perfect. That I have already said. Don't try to understand with your teeny experience. Everything learning, failure that I have already explained that you are coming here. Even though you are not initiated. There is also service. So if you deposit $0.01 daily one day it may become hundred dollars. So when you get the hundred dollars you can get the business. So you come here daily $0.01. $0.01. When it will be hundred dollars you will become a devotee. So this is not wasted. It is. That is stated in the Srimad Mahagavata Kritapurna Punya Kirta Punna. Ka means done. Shuddha Goswami is describing when Ka was playing with his coward boys friends. So he was describing that these coward boys were playing with Ka. They have not come to this position in one day. Krita Purna Punja after life. After life having performed pious activities now they have come to this position that they are allowed to play with the supreme. So any past activities done for the sake of Ka that is your permanent asset. It will never be lost. So go on increasing the asset one day it will so help you that you will be able to play with Ka. This is Ka consciousness movement. Haven't you convinced somebody? First of all what devotee is? There are different or many spiritual movements in the world. How can I know which one is the right? For me it is very easy. Spiritual movement means to understand God. Any spiritual movement you adopt, if you understand God then it is all right. Either it is bogus. If you understand God, you take any movement. If you think everyone is spiritual movement, all right, you take it. Then if you come to understand now I have understood God then that is all right. I have no experience. That is experience. Actually if you eat you will feel satisfaction. And without eating I will feel satisfaction. So if you follow spiritual movement then you will understand God. That is the result. And if you think that you are following some spiritual movement but you do not know what is God. That means you are following some bogus thing. That is the test. It hasn't got to be certified. You can know. Just like if you eat, you will feel satisfaction. You haven't got to take satisfaction on others. Do you think I am eating? And you can say. If you understand fully God, then that is spiritual movement. If you do not understand, then you must know that you are following some bogus. This is the test. There are different casts. I say different may be hundreds. But it is up to you to test whether you have understood God. That is the test. Real test. Yes. Have you told you this person.

They're suffering when they actually.

When they say someone who is not afraid to die and says that he's not suffering. He's a madman. That's all. Who is caring for madman's work. Very easy to convince some.

Some people.

If they're not their bodies, it's not very easy to convince them. If they're not their mind. There's some way we can. And that will take time. How can we expect then One minute. Until Krishna Prabhu and I met with Jaipataka Swami after the Calcutta Rath Yatra and explained what we were doing. He's totally behind it. He wants all 70,000 plus disciples to take the courses we'll be offering them in Bangla, Hindi, English, Russian.
