Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (2.5.6-7) Class || Los Angeles, USA #JayapatakaSwamiArchives

This is a recorded class by Jaya Pataka Swami commenting on Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 2.5.6–7 (translation and purport). The speaker explains Narada’s inquiry to Brahmā about the supreme controller, stresses correct recognition of the supreme (and cautions against gurus who claim to be God), and gives practical instruction through parables and personal anecdotes (the cave disciple, the old-monkey parable, encounters with contemporary religious figures). The lecture also addresses community matters—protecting children, gurukul/education choices, and maintaining fidelity to the disciplic succession (Śrīla Prabhupāda’s instructions).
Nam Nam Nam Samyam Nam Ram Sam Translation By His Divine grace, whatever we can understand by the nomenclature, characteristics and features of a particular thing, superior, inferior or equal, eternal or temporary, is not created from any source other than that of your Lordship. Thou so Great her poor. The manifested world is full of varieties of created beings and 8,400,000 species of life and some of them are superior and inferior to others. In human society the human being is considered to be the superior living beings and amongst the human beings there are also different varieties, good, bad, equal, etc. But Narada Muni took for granted that none of them has any source of generation besides his father Brahma Ji. Therefore he wanted to know all about them from Lord Brahma. Text 7 translation yet we are moved to wonder about the existence of someone more powerful than you when we think of your great austerities in perfect discipline. Although your good self is so powerful in the matter of creation, following in the footsteps of Sri Narra Muni, one should not blindly accept his spiritual master as God himself. A spiritual master is duly respected on a par with God, but a spiritual master claiming to be God himself should at once be rejected. Naramuni accepted Brahma as the supreme due to Lord Brahma's wonderful acts of creation. But doubts arose in him when he saw that Lord Brahma also worshipped some superior authority. The supreme is supreme and he has more worshipable superior via humor or the one who worships himself with the idea of becoming God himself is misleading, but the intelligent disciple can once detect that the supreme God does not need to worship anyone, including himself, in order to become God. Ahangra ho Passana may be one of the processes for transcendental realization, but the Ahamgra Upasita can never be God himself. No one becomes God by undergoing a process of transcendental realization. Narad Munida thought of Brahmaji as the supreme person. When he saw Brahmaji engaged in the process of transcendental realization, doubts arose in him. So he wanted to be clearly informed. Translation the mathematician, whatever we can understand by the nomenclature inferior, inferior or equal, eternal or temporary, is not created from any other source other than that of your Lordship. Yet we are moved to wonder about the existence of someone more powerful than you when we think of your great, great austerities. Perfect discipline Although your good self is so powerful in the matter of creation in the matter of creation with Lord Brahma now I have seen the activities of blood drama and naturally these activities observed by minutely you could see how powerful Lord Brahma was To create the entire universe. Everyone that was in the universe, all their bodies were created by Lord Brahma. At the same time you also saw that Lord Brahma was doing severe austerities and penances, meditation. So it seemed that there was someone greater than Void Brahma from whence or from whom Void Brahma was getting his power. So he wanted to know all these things. Actually children is also whether your child is Ramoni or whether he's more ordinary human being. Children always look to their parents, see what they do. We shouldn't think that the children aren't watching what we do. They watch and they learn. And it has a very strong influence that we want the children to be Ka conscious. We also need to be Krishna consciousness. In this case, Ramali wanted to know about the secrets of creation and wanted to know Lord Brahman's actual position. In modern science. There's a lot of speculation. So many theories are out in the market. The primordial soup, the Big Bang and various kinds of Big Bang. So these theories are very random. People are trying to figure out. Every few months it comes out in a newspaper. Somehow they always publish these in India. So we see also numerous speculation on what the origin of the universe was. Rather than spending time speculating, Niraj just wanted to know from Lord Brahma who was the original person in the universe, how did he create the universe? Obviously that's a more direct process, a process by which one can get definitive information. So this we're coming in with the simplest succession from Lord Brahma. So proud of Lord Brahma as our original painter, actor, Lord Krishna. So hearing about Lord Brahma is also a very special occasion for us. Lord Brahma, he also came down into these pastimes towards Chaitanya and Brahma Harida. He participated in the pastimes, but in a very humble role, sort of coming as a very big position. He came as a non Hindu and born in another family. Kind of interesting because now all of a sudden Kirtan woman is spreading all over the world. Most of the world outside of India is not Hindu. And so many devotees are taking shelter of Lord Krishna, taking shelter of Lord Brahma. So Lord Brahma, when he gave his Haridasakur, he also was establishing a principle that even if you're born in a family which is not normally ready, spiritually advanced, but by the power of the Holy Name, one can become fully qualified only get the full mercy of the Lord. The Sila Prabhupada he discussed here very late. I was around when he picked up the Word Brahma he must not be the supreme. And that any seeker of the truth or any disciples they also see that their guru is claiming to be God and he should be rejected. It's confirmed by all the scriptures by Jived Goswami. The Kwan finds out that his guru is a universalist, thinks that he's God rejected. This Ahankara ho pasa I personally experienced in my visiting India one of the previous Acharya Shankar Acharyas situated at Puri. The Puri Sanghar Acharya. Somehow they're trying to get admission for the devotees into the Puri temple. Prabhupada sent me the Puri to see if we could arrange that the devotees could go in and have direction of Jagannath. So the Pandas they said well if you get the permission from the Jagannath Puri Shankaracharya that we'll consider first they said if you get from the Ramakrishna mission. I went to them and it looked like they might give the demons who said what better be Acharya instead. So they kept. I mean obviously they didn't want us to get in anyway. So I went to see the Shankaracharya. He had beautiful Radha Krishna. So I just asked him that so you're worshipping Radha Krishna? He said yes, I'm worshiping myself. I am Radha Krishna. I said Rahan Krishna. I saw beautiful. I was very loose. So I didn't know much about being very tactical mistakes maybe, maybe that was a qualification disqualification. I said Ra and Krishna are so beautiful. But you're getting very old, sir. That's also my, you know, my pastime. But everybody is going through that pastime. So these Prabhupada told us actually they get bored with other types of practices. So the apostle is often they start worshipping Radha and Krishna because it's so sectarian. But if you try to philosophically pin them down, they'll just twist it around. They won't actually publicly accept. He said that while in Brussels is actually in crime and confessing him. Not actually I understand Bhakti Yoga's ability but you know, I'm hereditary successor in this line so I just have to hold the party line or something like that. And if this person, he didn't condescend to that extent. He was stuck to his party line with me Sivasan claiming that I got a Krishna that was too painful to be standing there talking to this person somewhere. Anyway, he told me that I could go in the temple if I died and I took birth as a Hindu I Couldn't wear this one. Figured it wasn't much use in discussing with him anymore. Anyway, he's. Since then he's gone through the death channel. I don't know what he says. Maybe he's taking his birth as a Westerner. Now he cannot go. Maybe. Interesting. So he is also the process guru. A disciple, Ralamuni is inquiring from his spiritual master or Brahma. He's getting the information. This is a process. We should inquire from the spiritual master. We should get from him his instructions. Then we should follow those instructions. But you have to be very careful to follow the instructions properly. There's an example of one time there was a sannyasi and he. There was a guru and he gave a sannyasi to his disciple and told him to just stay here in this cave and to read the Bhagavad Gita. So the disciple was sitting there reading Bhagavad Gita every day. But the mouse came in and started to chew on the Bhagavad Gita. So he said, this is really bad. I had to do something about it. So he decided to get a cat. So he got a cat to keep out the mouse so he could read his Bhagavad Gita. So he was reading. But then the cat started meowing, hungry. Godded it, feed the cat. Keep up. The rat needed to feed the cat. So every day go out and get something to feed the cat. It was taking a lot of time. He thought it would be a lot easier if I just had a cow. So happened. Someone came and donated him a cow or someone got a cow. And then every day he'd have to feed the cow to get milk. See the cat, keep away the rat. They could read the Bible of Eden. They thought, what I need to do is have someone take care of the cow so he can mount the cow so I can feed the cat. People wearing the rat so I can leave no problem with either. So then he got an employee to take care of the cow. But he found out the employee was lazy and that he wasn't standing over him. He didn't really do the work right. He thought, what should I do? This is very complicated. I'm not able to read the Bhagavad Gita. This mouse reading the Bible Gita means I have to have the cat, I have to have the cow. I have to have it. But you know, I need someone to oversee the cowboy man. So then he decided that the only way you can have a good dedicated worker, someone he can really rely on. He has to get married. Then he can rely on his wife. She'll be very faithful, dedicated. So he got married. And the wife was overseeing the man who was smoking. The cow, was getting enough to feed the cat, keep away with the rat. So he reasons why we eat it. But lo and behold, the wife, she also had certain needs. Pretty soon there was kids, they needed a house. So then he ended up getting a house, had to get land, feed the kids. Pretty soon he forgot the Bhagavad Gita. Meanwhile, the guru came back to see how a Sannyasi disciple was doing. He came to the cave. He saw there the Bible of Peter was lying there, chewed up by the ranch. He went looking around. What happened to my disciple there? He found, you know, he was in this big Manx country ranch house with the wife and so many things. He said, what happened? I just told him to stay in the cave. Read the Bible. Guru Bay all this, what you're seeing, is simply the product of reading the Bhagavad Gita. It's all the mercy of Bhagavad Gita. And simply by carrying out your order, it's called dita. Samsung Sometimes in executing our order to the guru, we just get a little bit more complicated than we need to. A little bit over endeavor, another over endeavor to maintain an over endeavor. And in the end, we forget the original thing, why we started off in the first place. What was the actual service we had to do for our spiritual master. So you see that just like one person in India had to be that sun sign that it's not so unusual. Actually, all over the world, similar kind of things happen in Maya. Makes our life a little more complicated than we expected. Then we compromise a little bit here, a little bit there. Pretty soon we're so compromised out that we sometimes see the devotees, they really get out of the moods, can't see the forest for the trees anymore, what they were supposed to do. So the ideas always maintain very strongly the link with the spiritual master and never lose sight of the actual instruction. If you want to do something, actually, we should consult with the spiritual master, consult with other senior godbrothers or senior devotees, Vaishnavas, and it can be very clear what is it that we want that we should do. This person, he was all on his own. He didn't wait for anyone to give him any advice. He started speculating one thing from the next and got completely in pain. So, Naroni, we all know that he's got so many powers. He can fly all over the universe that he wanted to. He could check things out more than any scientist. But he thought he didn't do that. He just sat there as the Lord Brahman and Brahma. Since you're the person that's done all this, please tell me what does it all mean? Who is superior to you? It seems like you're the superior person in the whole universe. Layer of Brahman said, actually it's very easy for someone to conclude this that I am the Supreme. If you don't know about who's about me, if you don't know about the supreme personality of Godhead Bhagawan, then just seeing me, someone may think, well, he's a Supreme, look at he's doing everything. But Rama was very pleased that actually Narada Mumi could pick up that there must be someone superior to Lord Brahman. I remember from Los Angeles some years ago I went over to Salt Lake City to see the Mormons expos. Expos. Whatever you call it, exposition. And then we spent the whole afternoon seeing the different exhibits and in the end we discussed with some of the bigger elders in the they told us at the original that God Almighty means that he's the creator of his own universe and he gets to have Jesus and his son. And that if you do your pious Mormon, you can become a creator of your own universe in the future. And like this, everybody can have their own universe to be the creator of them. That's like the perfection of life. We ask them, is there any about this creator of the universe? Is there any other superior power, any other superior controller or supreme God who never changes? He said, well that's a mystery you don't know about yet. So it kind of struck us that what their philosophy was seemed like somehow they came to realize Lord Brahma through their whatever process they reveal scripture. Their concept is very much very similar to the concept of war. Romaine being the original creator of the universe, the all living entities, the progenitor. I even heard one time that Jesus was the son of Rome, but I don't have that back. But anyway, that's a controversial point. We don't really know where he fits in. It's interesting how the different philosophies coming around the world, but then they miss the point because they don't have. They just see one perspective. So we're really fortunate that we're coming in the visa fixture section from Lord Brahman and he has revealed Ka. He has revealed vision, revealed the supreme truth. And because we're following in that discipline Session. That's what we can understand these things. So it's all the blessings of Shada Prabhupada. Shlo. Prabhupada has given us this instruction, given us this teaching. So everything behind it's very complicated. Matters become very simple. So we need to. Sometimes there may be so many alternatives to following Shilajal, but they seem that we should dilute that in some way or that now we need someone else to draw up some other senior. Vaishnava wears a different idea than Prabhupada because you get some personal association. It's very attractive. But actually Brahab's version is something that's different. It's very dangerous for us to be involved with that. If it's something that's directly in line with robot's teaching, something that's directly coming in the same conception, no contradictions, then that's all right. We want to enchant ready? Strictly this connection with Srila Prabhupada because he's such a pure representative of the disciplined succession he demonstrated and he's fully realized a very part of all the previous Acharya's instructions and that he was empowered by it. There's an example given by Srila Bhakti, Siddhartha, Sarah Sataka, about the old monkey, which is an encouragement to follow discipline, succession. You know that monkey example, a herd of monkeys. They had one very old venerable monkey that was over all the other monkeys, and he was guiding them, giving them good counsel. So many generations of monkeys had come after him. They're living in the forest. But it so happened that there was a king and a little princess and princes of the king. They liked monkeys. And so they went out in the forest, they were feeding the monkeys and they attracted the monkeys to come in and stay in the garden of the king. There they were living happily and they were being fed very nice fruits by the princesses and the princes. So life is going on in a very comfortable way. There was one Ram, Ram or Ram, who was very passionate, used to force his way into the kitchen and steal food. He'd be driven out by the cooks. So when the old monkey saw that, he called all the monkeys that we had to leave here immediately. Shouldn't. Don't even ask any questions. We should all go. No, no. But where are we supposed to go? Go back into the forest, where else? It's not safe here anymore. Maybe it's not safe here now for us. The fruits are bitter and sour and hard to come by. Here we're getting, you know, Fresh sweet fruits. Tell her what's the problem? I mean. All right, I'll tell you the problem. The problem is this dwarf, this, excuse me, this ram, it keeps going in the kitchen. One day one of the cooks is going to just pull out a flaming burning piece of wood and just going to hit that boar, that ram. And the ram is going to live in the stable with the horses. So the ram is going to run back into the stable and he's going to be wool will be burning that burning wool. The smell going in there amongst all the horses. And horses get burnt, they get a foliage fire phobia. So what's the, what's this got to do with us? We're monkeys living here eating bananas and fruit. What is it? This is very esoteric. No, no, this is very practical according to the ayurvedic science of veterinarian truths. The only cure for horses who've got fire phobia, there's the fat of monkeys. They make a medicine, they have to put in monkey fat in the medicine. So we better get out of here quick, otherwise we're going to end up being cooked for making this medicine. Oh, the king would never do that wearing the friends of pets of his dear princess and princes. They'd never be that tough. Listen, people, don't just listen to what I'm saying. The horses are more important to the king than the pets of the skids. No, he would never let that. So they wouldn't follow the old monkeys. So then the old monkeys, well, I can't just stay here and watch all my descendants perish. Sign went back to the forest. Sorry that none of you will listen to me. The old monkey went back into the forest and the younger monkeys, they were enjoying life, neglecting the old monkeys warnings and advices and instructions. One day the ram went into the kitchen and grabbed the cake and the cook got sad, he took the stick and he hit the ram. And the ram caught on fire and he ran into the stable and the horses got burnt and, and they were jumping, ah, their hind legs and freaking out. And then the whole wild scene. And after that nobody can ride the horse. The king went and his horse is all freaked out. None of the horses let anybody ride him. The king said, this is horrible. What if we're attacked? How are we going to defend the kingdom? This is an old story. They didn't have, you know, F16s and everything. They used his horses in those days, so it was a major defense problem. Went to the pueblo of the Pentagon. Anyway, so they called the pundits and then the ayurvedic veterinarians, they came and they said, okay, let's look here we have here clairphobia. Here we go. He was unlucky in this thing. And then he got a little bit of monkey fat. Yes, sir, we're going to need monkey fat. All the other ingredients are quite commonly available. But the one thing here I see especially a little bit difficulty. Good. A little bit of monkey fat. Oh, my kids got some pet monkeys. When they're asleep, quickly go there and, you know, catch the monkeys and before they know what happened, you know, they'll be cooked up and get the fat. We gotta solve this problem as a national defense affair. We got to get these horses back on their feet again, get them cured from this phobia. So sure enough, all the monkeys got rounded up when they were sleeping at night and they were sacrificed for their fat to make biophobia medicine. And the old monkey saw all his followers. Who is the old monkey? The Achardia. The young monkeys are the wayward disciples that fight amongst each other or they get diverted and they don't stay faithful to the Acharya and they get sacrificed through their own foolishness as a attachment. But even sometimes, when the Acharya sees that his disciples are headed in the wrong direction and you cannot correct them out of disgust, he just leaves early. Interesting. He gave that story and he gave that purport and Srila Prabhupada says. Actually the Srila Bhaktis did not just arise to talk, but when he left, he was disgusted. He left early songs. We asked for the Prabhupada when he was sick in Vrindavan, he told us he was leaving. He said Prabhupada. He also angry with us. He said, no, I'm very satisfied, but I'm concerned that you all were praying together. Spread the ka conscious movement and concern. You're like children and there may be so many natures. You may get misled, misdirected to stay united and there's a better opportunity to be protected. The problems that he wasn't frustrated in that we need to carefully. Even though it may not understand or may not seem just like the young monkeys, they couldn't figure out what the old monkey was talking about. It makes so much sense. They have the same. Obviously they were protected. But the wisdom of the old monkey was far more than theirs. And the end they died in. Old monkey, of course, remained in this transcendental position. You need to follow the Acharya Srila Prabhupada stuck to that principle. Thakur said, distribute books. We should distribute books. He said, they have a gdc. We should have the gdc. And he said do not. We should do not. We should build the temple in Bible. We should preach. Said to preach all over the world. We should preach all over the world. He stopped very faithfully to this principle of following the instructions of the Anybody ask what's your secret of success? What should the problem say? He said, if there's any secret of my success, listen to my spiritual master and try to carry out his instructions. The secret of success in spiritual life is to get the blessings of the previous Acharyas. Sometimes it's very difficult to recognize the Lord is very difficult to understand the position. The Lord Chaitanya started a Sankirtan movement. And after Lord Vichitanda came and we had the big reception and went through the whole mountain beast. Still nobody really knew who is Nityanam, what is he actually like, what's his? Why is he so special? Because all they did was they were Harinan for the whole day with Nithyananda was very ecstatic. And I could see Lord Chaitanya was so overjoyed. Joined with Lord Nithyananda and everything was wonderful. Nobody really knew much about Lord Nityananda. So the next day Lord Chaitanya was at his uncle's house, Chandrasekhar's house. And there they were having some Bajans and some devotees there. Many devotees were there. Srivas Thakur was there. Different devotees or Nityananda came. And then Lord Chata. The second night, second day Nityananda wasn't looking at Lord Caitani. He was drinking Lord Caitanya with his eyes. No one could see. The book was so intense. It was something no one had ever seen. So much devotion, so much love. They ran, they embraced each other. They were crying in joy. Mochaitan. They just gave a little emotion to Sriva's karma. So Srivasi started singing Bhajan of Krishna and Balaram being in Vrindavan. Pastimes of Vrindava. So when in the Bhajan as soon as the Kirkhana stopped, started like Nithyananda he became like absorbed remembering Vriknava. He became very emotionless. They just sat down, they were just listening. But then when Sriva started to mention the pastimes of Krishna and Balaram when he heard about Balaram, the pastimes with Krishna and Vna all of a sudden Nithyananda he just became so overwhelmed with separation to see Krishna. He just called Crying out, Krishna, Krishna. He just jumped up. He just became like completely absorbed in a trance. He started running. Krishna, Krishna jumping and looking. Where is Krishna? Running here, running there. Because he was no longer seen Nabadit. He wasn't seeing Chandrase looking in Vrindava. He's smashing into things. The Devoid is trying to catch him. And they're running here and there. And everyone. Five devotees that I've had him tackling. It's the amount of time to hold it, right? Boom. He's pushing through it. Misha Kisha running here and there. Finally Lord Shaitanya goes and grabs him. When Lord Shaitanya grabs him, Nityanaki becomes very peaceful. Moor Chaitanya just sits down, takes Nityananda's lap, head on his lap. Now Sri Lanka is singing Bhajan and Lord Ki. So Lord Chaitanya is also just meditating on Krishna. Cheese chatting Vaikrishnai. Tears are flowing from his eyes and washing over Adityananda's face. Adityananda is like melting in separation. Krishna, Krishna, Krishna. But then Lord Caitanya, he gets like absorbed in the separation. And he becomes like melting also the separation of Krishna, his separation becomes so intense. Nityananda sits up, takes Lord Chaitanya and puts his head on his lap. The Lord Shaitan face is being washed by Nithyananda's tears. This leader Garaga was watching all this. What is going on? What is happening here? Who is this Niti Nanda? You remember this was the first time Moshe Gamma was controlling his ecstasies to a certain degree. But when Nityananda was there, there's no holds bargaining. So it's not impossible. And seeing they've all switched. And Gadara said this is something like Anantasesha holding Maa Vishnu. It just looks like Anantasesha is holding Vishnu in his lap. So intuitively you understand that actually Nityananda was Krishna Anam to Sage Shankarsha. Holy Lord Chitten in this way by Lord Chaitanya's compelling Lord Nityananda to engage in the most ecstatic kirtan anyone's ever seen. Total separation. Become completely mad after Krishna. Then everybody could recognize that well person. But these are all real ecstatic symptoms. Now we got to watch out for another two things that has been done a few centuries since the last couple centuries. Imitators. People that just imitate ecstasies. We heard there was one guru, he was an expert imitating ecstasies. That he could actually just have the tears pour down. There was someone who used to put chilies in his notes. And then tears would pour down when I was leaving the class. Apparently when the body sound in the back playing off the chilies must have missing power, not just speeds. So sometimes the Sri Bhakti Sri Lanka when he was around the planet that time there were so many satya gurus who were attracting people by ecstasy. In the beginning it was different, but then they started to make the whole thing cheap. So then he said, no ecstasies in public. You put a restriction on public display of ecstasies because that became the main thing that proved you were devoted. Of course, people were just imagining originally there were relations in Rome and someone was cheating. And other things. The difference between melt and Leibniz. He always thought the milk was thinner than it should be. Maybe his milkman was stealing some milk and putting water. So he'd always complain that all things were taken off. Why is it also a thin? He complained to the servants. Serpent would tell them, no, man, they gotta talk. This guy is too much. And I'm just giving the fear of why I say, you know. So one day they already kind of. Well, if he gets too heavy, you know, I know how to take care of them. Anyway, one day the landlord said, this milk is too thin. I want you to bring your milk in my head, why is it so thin? Why is there. He said, is he going water? So the servant told him the okay, today's your day. All right, I got my plan. They went home and he took some pressed line, really mineral line that we put water. It reacts chemically. And it was very hot. So he mixed up a nice glass of hot line. They took one glass of milk. They went and saw the landlord and put down the two glasses in front of him. The landlord said, why is it that your milk is so thin? Well, sir, I can't tell you. This is your milk I brought from your cow. This is Calvert House milk, what I brought from my house. So which melt do you want to try today? The pure milk from your cows or the cowherd man milk from my house so that my milk is sour. The cow Herdmann milk is very wide, thick. Depending on that cow milk is not so wide or so thick. Well, today let me try the coward man. Mouth grab it, start burning out his insides. It's like a real painful death. It's eating out his cold gut. What did he give me? Oh, and he died. The police came and arrested the coward man and the servants. So what do you arrest they asked for? He killed him. He poisoned Him? No, no. It was his own choice. He voluntarily took it. He fed him poison. Why did he give him poison? I mean we told him this is milk and this is the only drink from the cowherd to house. Why did he take it? It's not our responsibility. You tell it to the judge. Come with us. Drag him off. He's a coward man. He's like bogus Guru who's giving a lime drink may look better than milk, but it's not milk. It's. Everyone knows milk is not so white. It's a little bit as a different color. Lime white paint is obviously more. Who can drink lime paint? Sometimes someone with a big beard or big hairdo or sadistic powers or some kind of Baba or that thing or another thing somehow is able to attractive innocent people. And they think oh, this is more flashy than the Ka Consciousness movement. They're just chanting Hare Krishna here. They're doing so many powerful things. Pressing your eyeballs so you can see the light, whatever. What happens is they end up making malignants and they kill themselves through. When you accuse those bogus people, why are you misleading the people? We didn't mislead the shrines. We're just trying to help people. What to do? You know, they want this so we are providing. At least it's better than what they were doing. You know, they give so many excuses. They know they're doing the wrong thing. They're saying what if that's what they want, what can we do? One magician who's our life member, he told us the whole story. How they had expose of how his brother went there as the big Famous Sir Card Jr D.C. sarkar Jr he went there and challenged. And then when Sai Baba came and gave him a rasmuda, he went pulled out a Sundance here. My mom would have pulled out another thing gave and he pulled out another Sandy Gam. What are you doing here? Here, take your horse. Speak to him. And it turns out they were co students. They were like fellow students in the same magic school. And they look at I'm a PC soccer junior magician. You were in the same magic school with me. How did he become God? How do you become Avatar? You're doing the same tricks I'm doing. But I'm not telling people I'm God. What are you doing? Look at. Okay, maybe I tell people. But don't you know there's something on my case. Look at I do a good works. Look at all the schools I open. Look at the hospitals. Look at all the other things that People they like this kind of thing, you know, it works. You know, we come out and just you do your thing, I do mine and then it's all right. Don't be chu, don't be chew. You know, that's another story. So the magician that's so spiritually, you know, said all right, just, you know, don't say. Then what happened though was. Listen, don't tell anything against me. I'm doing good work. But then a few days later it came out in the newspaper that Sai Baba turned DC Sarkar Jr the magician into a goat for seven days for the picture of the goat. That was too much. Then DC Sarkar gave the whole thing A newspaper so public everyone knows not publishing all the newspapers. People are so in. Okay, if you publish and things like that, they still publish like it doesn't matter. But he said, well, once he's gone against me, I have to tell the truth. He gave me the whole internal story because these are his brothers. I'm like. He performed when you may festival for the boys. So this. Sometimes their presentation may be looking better. Maybe they worship some demigod even though mystic power. So who knows what we have. But just the problem of it is actually giving that real spiritual pure thinking. We should be very careful not to get misled or because mostly devotees don't get misled by Sairam and things like that tendency may be there always look for something a little better. A pure milk. But there's nothing better than pure milk. Pure milk is the best thing there is. There's nothing that else that has. You know, you make soybean milk make any other kind. But it's not the same as pure cows and milk that's the best Cows don't know there is common alternative has the same qualities to similite qualify. The whole disciplic succession is giving us the pure belt. We should be careful not to get distracted by some other alternative. So Hare Krishna Krishna children would have that way anyway. So we shouldn't be strict in just activities. Because later on when we've read it during the early years. Is there a way to adapt things? My understanding was that sh make devotional activity so attractive that the children of the wife would do it. Obviously just sheer force that can produce the desired result. Sarah for us has always needed that the children some direction is needed at the same time. A I remember so many times. It serves to make it attractive for them. Interesting for them even. Of course, we have the advantage of the wonderful transcendental environment in the holy ground. But in Mayapur We've been trying to make this environment for the children there. And to the extent that we can provide them interesting things to do, like learning music, the garga harmonia, different types of gargis. To the extent that we need more things to do, we need more and more fingers. Kids are, you know, energy poles. So you have to give them a lot of different things to do. But to whatever extent we can give them things to do that they like to do. Now they go on Harinam every Sunday when all the people are there. And for two, three hours they're going around the campus during Harinam with one of the teachers and 60 kids doing everything. So it's. We like that man suddenly fired up here during the three. Nice for all the people to see. So here you see, ladies, so far, by Krishna's mercy course, it's always difficult whenever a new person comes. You know, we don't have it worked out yet. I heard that there's a gurukul in South India which is not very special. It's just kind of. It's like. I think it's like a prep school, what they call gurukul. But when they come in, they usually shake it out. You gotta leave everything in a. They put it in a box and lock it up. All your rock and roll tapes and all your this and that. We had to get into that because when they come in from outside and they come in with the most dash of stuff, you know, if you walk around walking, no, no, what they're listening to, when they listen, then you know what they listen to. Some they shouldn't have been listening to. But apart from that infiltration and culture from the. There's a lot of interesting things to do. They like it. And in fact, many kids opt to stay there because they feel much more protected then in the sense of when they get a little mature, they want to be devotees. They find and say, I don't want to go to the Western. Because I know that as a teenager I met one boy in London who had gone back to London and he's begging his father, please send me back to my. If I stay here, there's no way I can remain in devotional service. No way in the public school I'm going to make it. Who is begging this father to send them back. So if so many other boys, they did make their father and the person ran a devotional service making devotional activities very interesting for their kids. They like it here in the West. I'm at school and we travel. I don't Say we go to. They might allow them in the football for all the boys. The girls are more successful because we have a bar bathroom teacher. And they all learn by a non tune. That's in the country so scandalous included a little protected. The parents are into it. They get together. Look at all the parochial schools in America. How many Catholic schools, how many Methodist schools, how many Seventh Day Adventist schools. They were concerned about providing a spiritual environment for their children having a school. Their standard may not be very high in terms of spirituality, but it was something they wanted to have more than what the public school provided. Similarly devotees, we also trying to get together that type of environment. But it has to follow through also in the home. As long as you're not a hypocrite. If a person doesn't do himself and he's trying to force the children to do it, then the children are going to rebel and say, you know why you guys need this one? You don't even do it. But if the parents are doing it, may submit preaching. Good for you. You should also. And they try to make it interesting for the children different ways. We all were kids. They tend to think that everyone thinks. I do think so. I don't know I have that defect also. But I remember that. So I remember from my childhood where my parents believed in something they may have, you know, forced me to go every Sunday, Christmas, you know, ceremonies or whatever. And when I saw my father never went. Then when I got five years old, I said, where does father go? You know, why he doesn't go to the Christmas church. So he's helping Santa Claus. I want to help Santa Claus too. And I knew that when they tried to force you to stop, they weren't into it then, you didn't feel good about it. But when they were into it then, you know, it was. You can't repent them for giving. I don't think any sincere kid, when they go out, they're going to look back and say that my parents believed in something and tried to give me the best thing they could. It's only if they do it in such a, you know, a wrong way. But we're not doing it. We're trying to force them to do it in a way which is not very interesting for them. You know, they back frame. But then if it's a little bit of creativity into it. And we have an electronic mail network in the comma in Sweden started a congregational preaching conference with about 50, 60 devotees around that and mentioned I'll be linked over here to the One in San Diego that was one of the topics that somebody asked what do you do during the Sunday program with when you have all the kids running around Play cards with them or chess or what do you do? How do you keep them busy? So then we got inputs different like a dozen or so different Krishna conscious oriented games so you can play with kids getting busy. But that was more a younger group but they had all kind of little games you could play that were Krishna consciousness. That's your right. Showed him how to play water ball Krishna practice water ball Chanting Holy land you come out. I was wondering are I kids probably children going to harmony schools. What does Prophet actually say about sending you to a private school? Quotes anger So I was angry. If you want to to provide children with Krishna conscious education as much as possible. I think we all understand that I have a disciple who works for the government in the society is rampant in the schools and the churches and everywhere. She got a full hand the whole action team dozens of people working under her all the time. She's got a power to arrest people, put them on court, whatever. Take the children away from custody case. You know sometimes the thing is we have. We were naive in our own rural system we let people come in and molest our kids. We never come up to believe that that would happen. And now I realize that that's the nature of these people. They go for these things video fills have got this kind of weakness, this disease and they go for that. So we were unprotected. Now we're having seminars all over the world giving these experts to give us advices on how to recognize people that have this problem. But if you think that you put the kid in public school you're going to be better protected. Would seem that you have much more control of all the parents got together with the teachers and took every precaution to see if Krishna consciousness whose kid at a school was safeguarded from that kind of problem. Because in a public school doesn't mean that kids and kids and so many things are there. It's not like it's not in the society. It's all over the society. We just we got a little old flowers. Kali is trying to wear down our kids. That doesn't mean it's an end of the world for them. They can still be Krishna conscious and rent everything. Hang on senior devotees who also before they came to the Krishna Kanji rule when they were kids they were molested and all the senior devotees they were preaching. So it sounds like it doesn't happen to society. So sometimes we get freaked out by something and then we take shelter. Whatever the alternative is available in the long run. The problem work is to have ka conscious educational facilities. Same reason why so many other religious institutions have their own religious schools. Sometimes they use that as an excuse will I have to study to make a living so I'll go to a carving college. This is a bigger question about social problems to provide. One of the representatives of the Gurukul alumni came to see us in ran our cardinal meeting said we want some job opportunities in Islam. We want some future, we want some recognition so on we are able to be glorious in the temple like that and we like to be connected with Krishna consciousness. They like to give some service. You can ask if not everybody's going to be a missionary in a camp there are going to be people working in society. How he had to deal with that. These are all questions that people that create schools in the west have to consider. Prabhupada didn't want to overburden the students with a heavy curriculum of useless things. I know that most places in the western world, even India they have like high school to an exam and hey, if somebody wants to go on higher education you can take this exam. I don't have any statistics but I've seen a number of a Kendra was one of the top of his class and a few people there's a few examples I heard very well. So it doesn't seem like it's somewhat the later on wants to go in 2006 school wants to go on university. These waves these are out there just like writing really detailed discussion.
