A short lecture by H.H. Jayapataka Swami explaining that certain verses (quoted by Srila Prabhupada in his prayer) provide a formula for spiritual purification: hearing and chanting the glories of Krishna and serving the Bhagavat. Swami emphasizes that this process is universal and non-sectarian—effective across countries and religions—and recounts Prabhupada’s resolve to spread Krishna consciousness in America.
These verses are very important for followers of Srila Prabhupada. Why especially for us? When Shila Prabhupada was in the harbor up from America and he prayed to Krishna and his Markhana Bhagavata Dharma how he's going to spread Ka consciousness to this sinful place, America to this Hugra place. Then remember these verses that by hearing about what all the Avadre soup, all the inauspicious things are clearance from the heart, how when that happens one's purified from the compassion, ignorance, effects situated in pure purpose. So that in Prabhat 1, about 5, 6 verses he quoted here in his prayer to Krishna. This is my formula, this is what I'm going to do. I'm going to engage people in hearing and chanting the glories of Krishna and serving the Bhagavad. Follow this process by your mercy of the Bhagavad, your mercy that's going to work and that let it become purified. So we find that this works. It doesn't only work in America, it works in Europe, it works in Malaysia, works in Africa, it works in Australia, works everywhere, works in Russia. It's a universal process. It's not a material process, not dependent on nationality, race, religion. It works on anyone. Just like fire, fireworks, totally non sectarian will burn anybody. Doesn't matter what political party they belong to, what country, what religion.
