A short spiritual discourse by Jayapataka Swami stressing that reading and studying scriptures is essential to strengthen faith and avoid confusion. The speaker cites the Bhagavad Gita, the Vedas, and Lord Chaitanya’s example to argue that scriptural knowledge produces firm devotion (shraddha) and helps answer objections about exclusive worship of Krishna. The talk urges following the teachings as the shortest path to develop love for Krishna.
So don't be Alas. We're all us when it comes to discussing the conclusions of the scriptures. Because it makes our mind fixed, strengthened. Amidst it firmly attached the Lord Shivajita Bhagawan. He died. He should not be Malasa. Malas. Malas. Malas. When it comes to studying the conclusion of the scripture, some people think that this chanting is okay. Why should we read and study when we had Aristagoshi? Some people said when they read, they fall asleep. Hard work. So somebody say, no need of reading, we'll just go cleaning. Ka Give us mercy. But here Lord Chaitanya is teaching us that if we are not Malas for studying the scriptures we are going to get Sudhira Bishva, Sudhira Shraddha. We're going to get a very strong theme. Sometimes people don't know the Shastra and they get bewildered. Someone challenges them. Why do you worship Krishna? All the gods are the same. So why you are worshipping Krishna so much? Even if they don't know the answer. In the Bhagavad Gita, in all the Veda, even in the real Veda it says his supreme original cause of all causes, Parameshwar Bhagavad. This is what we have to know the scripture inside and out. Prabhupada said we should know the conclusions. So we want all of you to get this mercy. But don't take it. Part of it is to know the scripture. Otherwise you may get confusion. You get some different wrong ideas. Then you won't get that same feeling of bliss. So what understanding Gita is means we understand how wonderful Krishna is to come down and speak to my Lord Gita for all of us. How Lord Chaitanya so mercifully came as a devotee to teach us how to love. Ka how many of you want to have love for Krishna? The shortest cut is following all by teachings.
