One of the biggest mistakes I see bass players making when it comes to their technique is that they're always focusing on what the fretting hand is doing. If you imagine a car with an engine being the plucking hand and the steering wheel being the fretting hand, the car would still move without the steering wheel. But you can't go anywhere without an engine. So this is the same. When playing bass, if you have complete control over your right hand, trust me, your left hand will be able to catch up. If you want to develop the right hand, the best thing to do is to slow down whatever you're playing and say I for index and M for middle out loud. So I, M, I, M, I, M, I, M. And that will really get that right hand together.
