Jim Carter explains how he uses AI voice modeling to publish his podcast The Prompt in 11 languages at once. He walks through his process: transcription, drafting, and generating audio in each language, then invites listeners to suggest which languages to add next.
Welcome to the Prompt. I'm Jim Carter. This show guarantees tech news and updates that shape your life and future. Since it's essential now to stay on top of AI, we'll figure it out together so you don't fall behind. I'm here to explain it, offer some deep insights, and spark a little curiosity along the way. If you're a techie like me, or just AI curious, hit that follow button for the advantage you deserve. Let's dive in. Welcome back, everyone, to a very special episode of the Prompt. Today, we're breaking barriers quite literally. Imagine taking a road trip not just across the country, but across the globe, reaching every corner imaginable. That's exactly what we're doing with the Prompt, connecting and celebrating diversity in a way that's never been done before. If you know me, you'll understand how much I've been looking forward to sharing this episode with you all. It's such a significant step forward, one that I think will change the game not only for the Prompt, but for podcasting as a whole. Okay, so here it is. At the time of publishing this, we're making the prompt available in 11 different languages, with plans to expand to even more in the following months. I know a little wild, but here's the kicker. We're not just translating the content, we're taking it a step further by using some advanced AI to voice model the show in each of these native languages. That's right, you'll hear my voice, Jim Carter, in French, Italian, Spanish, German, Korean, Mandarin, Japanese, and more. Sounding as natural as ever. Consider me a natural Spanish speaker, asking questions like comodirias quesuenu en espanol? Or in Hindi, RJB main Hindi Basa men svabhavik, rupsebolta hun, maybe even Russian. Yadaje mogu govorit poruski I vot kakyaz vuchu. Pretty cool, right? What you heard was me speaking in just three of those languages, made possible by the power of AI. Here's the process I've built out for myself and what I teach my clients and members of my Fast Foundation's AI Slack community. I often prepare for an episode by taking my dog for a walk. I get the best ideas when I'm centered and clear. I like to use Otter to dictate my thoughts, but any audio recording app will work. I take it slow, casually sharing thoughts and ideas and no particular order. After I have a complete thought recorded, Otter will auto transcribe it and I move it into Chat GPT, where I built a totally custom GPT that has been trained on past episodes and knows my spoken word and goals for this show. That pre processing step converts my random brain dump and unstructured thoughts into more of an outline and first draft. From there, the process is no different than structuring or reviewing your recording and doing edits. The bonus is I can do it all in text before any media is actually created. If you prefer to write out your ideas, share bullet points, or use the summary of a call, you can pop it into the custom GPT and it will adapt. Finally, when my thoughts are structured and edited, I move into the authoring environment to generate, not record the audio and a whole automated workflow to handle show title, show notes and multiple language audio translation happens in real time. It even takes it all the way by pushing everything in draft form to my podcast host for a final opportunity to schedule it out. The whole process requires no code, no microphone, and no stress about making time in my schedule to be held to the status quo or burdensome norms. It's new, fun, and incredibly flexible. In fact, this draft was done on my flight home from my Mastermind event last week. I can leverage the charge of ideas I experience after an event and create with natural flow and ease. This isn't just an experiment, it's a commitment to making the prompt a global phenomenon, ensuring fresh new content for our international channels with the same frequency and quality you've come to expect. It's about pushing boundaries, embracing technology, and recognizing the massive impact we can have by making this show accessible to a broader audience. Now, if you're as excited about this global adventure as I am, let's make some noise. Tag me on Instagram, Share, shoot me an email, or better yet, join me in my Slack community where I'm sharing every step of this journey. It gives you an opportunity to network and collaborate with fellow leaders. Plus, I'm sharing the latest in AI tools and answering all of your questions along the way. While you're there, let me know what languages you think the prompt should embrace next. We're not just talking about expanding the show, we're making it happen one language at a time. You can check it out at absolutely no cost@fastfoundations.com Slack I'd love to show you more of how I'm running projects like this for my clients and myself. And don't forget to check the show notes for a link to see all the languages we're launching in. It's a big world out there and we're just getting started. Thanks for being a part of this journey. And remember, we're not just creating content. We're building bridges, one episode at a time. Thank you for tuning in. And as always, stay curious, stay engaged, and keep pushing the boundaries with us. Right here on the prompt. Or maybe, as you'd hear on my Chinese show, Xia Qijian, that's see you next time.
