A single speaker reviews 2024's biggest AI moments, from breakthroughs in healthcare and business to tools that reached everyday users. The episode covers what changed this year and hints at what comes next.
Hey everyone.
Happy New Year and welcome back to the Prompt. In this special episode, we're reflecting on the standout moments that made this past year remarkable for AI advancement. 2024 will go down as the year AI truly went mainstream. So let's explore some of the most significant AI milestones we've seen AI in.
Every part of our lives, from the smartphones in our pockets to the healthcare we receive. It's been a year of big breakthroughs, but also some growing pains. As we explore this new era, lets start with the highlights. OpenAI's Sora was a big deal, allowing users to make entire videos from just a text prompt. Imagine being able to create a minute long video with complex scenes and multiple characters, all without ever picking up a camera. That's the power of Sora. In healthcare. We saw DeepMind's Med Palm 2 often performing as well as or even better than human doctors in diagnostic tasks. And the Cerebrus Mayo Clinic Partnership is using AI to predict patient conditions months in advance. These developments could change patient care and save countless lives.
But it wasn't all smooth sailing. The gap between business adoption of AI and consumer satisfaction became clear. While 86% of companies used AI customer service, only 32% of consumers reported being satisfied with these interactions. It's a reminder that as we rush to adopt these technologies, we can't forget the human element. And then there were the regulatory challenges. If you remember these the FTC's Operation AI Comply cracked down on deceptive AI marketing, fining companies $1.2 billion. Honestly, it was a necessary wake up call, but it also temporarily slowed AI deployment in several sectors. Sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward. I think the most important change was the way AI quietly became part of our daily lives. From Walmart using AI to improve your shopping experience to Google's Gemini making your phone smarter than ever mean AI was everywhere in 2024. In fact, it contributed a huge $1.2 trillion to the global economy this past year. That's not just a number, it represents a big shift in the way we live and work.
And on a personal note, AI has been a huge help for my own business and creative projects. I've been using AI tools to automate tasks, generate content and make data driven decisions. It's allowed me to work smarter, not harder, and to grow my impact in ways I never thought possible. I use Suno AI to bring my dream to life and create my very first album. It's been such an incredible journey and I just released it a couple of weeks ago. If you're curious, go give it a listen. I'd love to hear what you think. Also, me and my team at Bara Agency created Bara AI, which uses AI to create podcasts by writing intros, titles and show notes in seconds. It's helped my clients save time while still producing high quality content that sounds like their brand. So that's been a lot of fun. Plus so much more that I've shared in my newsletter along the way, which if you're interested, I've dropped the link to sign up in the show notes.
And if you want a detailed breakdown of 2024's highlights, hop over to my website.
I've recapped it all there for you.
2024 was an exciting year, but AI is just getting started and I believe the best is yet to come. Here's what I'm certain about so in.
2024 we saw AI starting to combine text, voice and images into single systems. But this year, expect AI to seamlessly process everything text, video, photos, even sensory inputs. It's going to feel like interacting with an assistant who truly gets the full picture, no matter what format your input is in.
Companies like Grok have been pushing the boundaries and in 2025 we'll see faster, more efficient AI systems that are cheaper to run and use less energy. This is a big deal because it's not just for tech giants. Smaller companies are going to benefit too. It's all about making AI accessible for everyone.
And here's one I'm really excited about. Personalized AI Agents. These assistants will know your preferences, anticipate your needs, and work across every part of your life. From organizing your calendar to giving you custom advice, these agents are going to feel like your personal AI sidekick. So whether you're an entrepreneur looking to use AI in your business or simply someone trying to understand this new world, I want to be a resource for you. That's why I'm inviting you to join my Fast Foundation Slack community. Inside this community, we're exploring all things AI. I'm sharing the latest tools and strategies and we're working through the challenges and opportunities of this AI driven world. If you want to stay ahead and tap into the power of AI, this is the place to be. You can join us@fast foundations.com Slack. It's quickly become one of my favorite places to connect with like minded individuals and to share my own journey with AI. I'd love to have you be a part of the conversation as we look ahead to 2025 and beyond. One thing is clear, AI is here to stay, and it's up to us to use its potential, to use it ethically and responsibly, and to ensure that its benefits are felt by all. I for one, am really excited to see where this journey takes us, so.
Let'S keep the conversation going. If you enjoyed this episode, tag me on social media and let me know your thoughts. As always, thanks for tuning in. And let me know what are your predictions for AI this year? I'd love to hear them and I'll catch you in the next episode.
