Jeanette Gower, a horse breeder since age 15, wrote The Thinking Horse Breeder, which combines practical guidance with photography of horses and riders. The book is being adapted into audiobook form, though capturing its visual beauty and what Gower calls "interspecies mateship" through sound alone poses a real challenge.
Chapters
Jeanette. Jeanette Gower. Oh my gosh, we have not finished this one yet. It's in process. And, you know, Yellowstone, if you've ever seen that series, has got nothing on Jeanette Gower. She is a master. She's written a book called The Thinking Horse Breeder. She's been breeding horses in the country, highly respected in that field, since she was 15. And is considered to be an artist in that field. Very practical woman, and she's a dab hand at writing and not bad at technology, to all our, you know, delight and surprise. And she has written a seminal work about how to breed horses, how to train horses, which is not an easy thing to do in an audiobook, but she was very committed to the idea that this is an audiobook. So we're working with her through that to bring it to life, to bring it to life. And if you saw some of the pictures, you'd weep at how beautiful these pictures are of horses and horse riding techniques, um, and that kind of collegiate spirit that happens between a horse and a rider and a trainer. When they are really in each other's energy. Just gorgeous. We're trying to respect her work and make sure that the, that particular flow of, um, what do you call it, interspecies mateship, I guess, um, and also her skill and art come across without the benefit of being able to see the pictures as you're listening. The pictures will be there, but you will have to do, do that either way where you're sitting down or have a look at them later. But I would definitely encourage anyone who buys that book for the sheer pleasure of it, not just because you want to breed horses, um, but just to enjoy that aspect of life that not many people get a kind of glimpse into. How lucky are we to be, to be working with such amazing people. And that was our quick recap. That's our quick recap. How long did it take? Oh, 10 minutes. Oh no, we said 2 minutes. 2 minutes. I had my doubts. I know. Okay.
