3 Exercises You Can Do In An Office Or Hotel With A "Fit10"

Ben Greenfield shows three exercises with a Fit10, a $70 portable resistance device: a lat pull for swimmers, an ab crunch with the handle behind your head, and resisted sprints using a belt anchored in the door. It's adjustable, fits in a hotel room, and works anywhere you have a door.

Hey, it's Ben Greenfield, and I'm here in my office, and I have in my hand this cool new thing I want to show you. It looks like one of these made for TV exercise contraptions. Probably because it is made for TV exercise contraption. But I just discovered it. I thought it was pretty cool. I actually heard about it while I was interviewing a guy for a podcast, and he mentioned this. I'm like, what is this? And he explained it to me, and he said it was something called a fit test, and he had a lot of his clients using it. And so I got myself a fit 10. And I like it super, super useful when all you have is a door, like when you're traveling or when you're at your office. I'll show you a couple of exercises. I'll show you three exercises that you can do with this thing. So basically, you take this loop, you put it up like this, and you close it in your door. And you be really careful not to slam your fingers in there if you do. I take no responsibility for that. Okay, so I'm a swimmer. I know a lot of you that watch this are swimmers. So first, I'm going to show you an exercise that would be great for training your swimming muscles or your upper back muscles. This is also just a full upper body workout or full upper body exercise in and of itself. But the way that you do it is you hold onto the handle of it like this and. And you put your elbows up the way that they should be when you're swimming or doing any type of upper back exercise. And you just pull.
Down and the resistance is actually really high. You can adjust resistance on this thing. Once you get as far down as you can go, you just pull it back up, put your arms on again, and do it again.
Trust me, if you do, like 20 reps of this.
You will really feel it in your lats the next day. Okay, next, there's a really cool ab exercise you can do with this. So the way the ab exercise goes.
Is you stand like this and you put the handle back behind your head, and your back goes against the door. And then you simply get in this position and contract your abs. You can even close up on my abs if you want to. You'll see them contract. I contract my abs, boom.
And basically go down as far as I can go, pull it back up and again, go.
Once again.
Very, very tough ab exercise. And I adjusted the resistance on this thing. It's basically resist as hard as you pull against it. So, last exercise, if You're a runner. You're going to love this. This is really cool. Okay, so you're stuck at your office or you're in a hotel room and you want to get a run in. Okay, now, you've heard me say many times before that intensity trumps volume. So sprinting is always going to get you better benefit than just, like, running endurance distance. So here's the kicker. This thing comes. I'm going to take this out of the door. This thing comes with this belt. Okay. Like this, by the way, this whole setup, it's like 70 bucks, in my opinion, well worth it. Pays for itself after a few sessions. So it comes with a belt like this. The belt goes on the other end of the door. Then you close the door, you put the belt around your waist.
Like so, and you can literally run while leaning forward. Boom.
Okay. If you run like that for about 30 to 60 seconds, and you do anywhere from four to five sets of those, and maybe in between in the rest period, do those other two exercises that I showed you. It's a killer workout. I actually tried it yesterday and I'm pretty sore, so it's called the Fit 10. I'm going to put a link over@bengreenfieldfitness.com for it so you can check it out. Well, well worth it if you travel or if you have an office and you want to work out without actually going out and buying a gym membership or taking the time to get to a gym. Super fast workouts, you can throw down with this thing. Very, very cool. You'd be well on your way with just the three exercises that I just showed you. This is Ben Greenfield, over and out.
