Intro segment from Ben Greenfield announcing an interview with Dr. Alan Miller about supplement manufacturing. Ben previews topics covered in the interview: why factory employees wear protective 'moon suits' and why some powdered ingredients are hazardous airborne, rooms filled with curcumin dyeing walls, use of high-end raw-ingredient analysis machines, why fish oil tastes bad and how to address it, why some probiotics fail to survive digestion, how to improve curcumin absorption, how to read labels to detect tainted or mislabelled supplements, and where to find the full interview (BenGreenfieldFitness.com/capsules).

Hey you guys, what's up? It's Ben Greenfield. You like my hair and my sleepy eyes? I just got off the airplane late, late last night. But I got up early this morning to interview this guy named Dr. Alan Miller. And a few weeks ago, Alan gave me a tour of a supplements factory. It was really cool. Like we went through how the supplements are made and where the raw ingredients come from. And there were these guys like walking around with moon suits on and tubes going into the moon suits and face masks on because certain ingredients could like eat their skin away. And there were these rooms bright full of curcumin, dyeing the walls orange and yellow, and these multiple hundred thousand dollar raw ingredient analysis machines or really, really interesting place. So I said, alan, I gotta get you onto the podcast to actually ask you about this stuff and kinda do an insider interview behind the scenes of how supplements are made. And so Alan and I just got done doing that. So I'm gonna release my interview with Dr. Alan Miller over at BenGreenfieldFitness.com capsules but some of the cool things that you're gonna learn in this interview is why the employees at the supplements factory have to wear these special suits and why is it that some of these ingredients you can actually eat, but if they're up in the air, they're dangerous. We're going to talk about why fish oil tastes horrible and what you can do about it, why some probiotics don't make it into your digestive tract at all, how you can absorb curcumin better, what to look for on an ingredient label to know if your supplement is tainted or if it might not have in it, what it actually says it has in it, and a bunch more. This is a really, really interesting podcast. So if you take supplements at all, then this is a must listen for you. So check it out.
