1, 2, 3. Oh, hey, I almost didn't see you there. This is Ben Greenfield from BenGreenfieldFitness.com and if it sounds like I'm talking a little funny while I'm doing my gym stick workout, that's because I'm wearing one of these. Now, if you listen to podcast number 70 from BenGreenfieldFitness.com, you heard me talk to a couple of people from Bite Tech Technologies. And what bitetech Technologies does is they make this mouthpiece that is supposed to make you fitter, stronger, faster. It's based off the idea that the Vikings used to chomp down on leather bits when they were in battle to maintain their focus. What you have on your face, what's called a TMJ or a temporomandibular joint. And when you clench that joint, sometimes your body can produce a lot of that stress release hormone called cortisol. And so the idea behind the mouthpiece is that keeps you from chomping down quite so hard. Now, what they're saying at Bitek Technologies is that their studies have shown 25% less lactic acid formation, as well as a large increase in endurance and strength. They've also noticed a decrease in that hormone production of cortisol when someone's wearing this mouthpiece. The question is, does it actually work? Who knows? So what I'm going to do@BenGreenfieldFitness.com for the next 30 days is I'm going to test this mouthpiece when I'm swimming, when I'm biking, when I'm running, when I'm lifting. And in a month, I'm going to come back to you and tell you what I personally noticed when I was wearing this mouthpiece. And hey, if it works out, then that's great. One more secret weapon in your fitness arsenal. All right.
