Transcript of a massage-session conversation between Ben Greenfield and a practitioner (Speaker B) focusing on myofascial release and mobility. Ben discusses trouble spots (left knee, left toe, low back), upcoming travel (flight to London) and past athletic wear from triathlon/Spartan racing; he also mentions using ketamine (and a ketamine–oxytocin concoction by “Dr. Conover”) before massages in the past. The practitioner describes surface-level myofascial techniques and checks pain/tension levels.

During massages is I'll get like ideas that come to my head. So I was like, kept my phone in airplane mode but with voice metal on underneath me because sometimes I'll just like think of something and then if I'll get out of my head, it'll be like looping during like an hour. So that's my trick.
Ben, what do we need to work on today? I know we're kind of doing upper body, but anything really bothering you today?
It has been a little bit since we did the jaw thing, so that's great. And then left knee and left toe are usually just the slight trouble spots. And besides that.
I gotta fly to London on Wednesday and sometimes my back gets tight on flight. So we do.
We'll do low back. Burke.
You bet. And just checking in. How, how is your tension? How's your tension level today?
I haven't had a super stressful work day and I. I didn't have that.
Hard to work at today either. So it shouldn't be too bad.
Okay. And pain level?
No pain anywhere except that left toe. A little bit.
Starting here at that lotion. With that myofascial release.
In that right shoulder that was kind of bothering you a month or so ago that you jacked up has gotten better. I think it was the right shoulder.
I'm not gonna have a pickleball match tonight, so we'll see.
We'll get it loose though.
But yeah, it was great. No, whatever you did on it last time, it was like probably great after.
This is just my myofascial technique. I like to use this. It's a surface level technique. It just breaks up adhesions, tension on that surface level. No lotion on this one. You really want to get in and.
Connect with the tissue.
I remember back when I used to race like triathlon Spartan.
My body was like so, so beat up. I literally used to snort ketamine before my massages just to be able to deal with the pa. It just be like humping ketamine.
I think you had like, if I remember you, it was like a made up concoction. That guy came up for you?
Yeah, Dr. Conover. He made like a ketamine oxytocin. I think there was like pregnant there.
That was to receive my massage.
It would just like milled her body within like 10 seconds flat.
