A YouTube podcast episode (Ben Greenfield Fitness) featuring Konstantin Montastyrsky discussing misconceptions about dietary fiber and bowel health. Konstantin says his website receives about 200,000 visitors per month, that many people with chronic constipation/IBS/hemorrhoids find conventional medical advice unhelpful, and that his first-line recommendation for many sufferers is to cut fiber which often reduces stool volume and improves symptoms. He describes becoming dependent on laxatives after years on a very high-fiber vegetarian diet and created a program to address this; an independent survey of his clients reportedly found 82% were happy or very happy with the program (18% not helped). The recording is dated March 12, 2016.

Foreign.
My first recommendation to people who come.
To my site and I get a lot of people, I mean almost like 200,000amonth nowadays. I'm probably helping more people in a.
Year, you know, in a month.
And all of the, than most of the gastroenterologists throughout the entire career. And they only come and search the Internet for those problems with constipation and with IBS and with enlarged hemorrhoids and.
Divergences because they couldn't find that kind.
Of help from their doctors. I mean, I mean if I would.
Be, let's say a layperson not getting.
Involved in what I'm doing right now.
And I would find the side of.
Konstantin Monastirski talking about those issues. Fiber is no good. Large tools are no good. This is no good.
No good.
And I would say this guy is nuts. I mean, everything that he says is.
A complete opposite of what everybody else is saying.
But unfortunately they already, those people who.
Find my site finally on the Internet.
They heard everybody saying what they're saying.
They tried everything, what they're saying, and.
Nothing works to them.
And so they say, well, he's not, or not, I don't know, I need.
To try it because I'm desperate.
And so the very first advice on.
The site, cut off the fiber.
In most cases, you don't even need my supplements because just cutting out fiber will reduce amount of stool quite enough.
To actually improve your condition.
Unfortunately, there is also a class of people for whom this problem went too.
Far and they can no longer attain regular bowel movements unassisted. So they must depend on some kind of a laxative.
And all laxative as we know, are.
Either toxic or addictive or have unpleasant side effects. So I kind of developed this program for myself in the first place because I am myself a victim of many years of being vegetarian and consuming extremely high fiber diet, believing it was this, you know, there is no such a thing as too little of a good thing.
And that's. And it's.
And it works. We did a survey where we hired actually firm, independent firm to do a survey. And 82% of our clients said that either they're very happy with our program or happy with the program. Only 18% said that it didn't help them.
