A short YouTube transcript of Darren Steen demonstrating a plyometric stair-jumping exercise for fat loss with commentary from Ben Greenfield. The hosts explain technique (soft/deep landing, use glutes/abs to absorb shock), progressions (skip 1 stair = entry, skip 2 = intermediate, skip 3+ = advanced), session structure (multiple trips up stairs, walk down recovery, finish with 10 quick bursts), intensity (heart rate ~170 claimed when aggressive), and safety notes (don’t use escalators; land softly).

You don't need any equipment. And when you're traveling, of course you're using a hotel and you got stairs. So this is one of my plyometric exercises that I love. Not to mess Ben up, but I'm gonna come down here on the floor and I want to demonstrate.
It's gonna mess me up. Sorry.
So.
One on one with biometrics are. You want to explode. You want to. You want the muscles to. When you land, you want your muscles to absorb this shot. You don't want to land with stiff legs. That pounding went to my. What you want to do is you want to land soft like a cat. You want to land deep. So the glutes and the abs, the big muscles, absorb that resistance and decelerate your body. So you want to land light and soft.
Cool. And if I could say something real quick, remember, you don't care what people think of you while you're doing this, because you're going to look great if you're actually doing the type of fat loss lifestyle tricks that Darren's going to show you. Awesome. Thanks.
So you want to land soft and deep. You want the muscles to absorb the shock. So here's my plyometric. Up the stairs.
Follow Darren up the stairs.
Entry level, you can start. Skip just one stair. Intermediate, you can skip two stairs. If you're advanced, maybe skip three stairs. Starting out. Since you don't know, just skip one stair. I'll start out entry level. Or maybe even grand entry level.
This guy's crazy.
That's just one trip up. I would probably walk back down, do two or three more trips. This is next time. I'm gonna do one last one. I won't be able to talk afterwards.
Okay.
Because my heart rate would be around 170. But I'm gonna get real aggressive, and I'm gonna skip as many steps as I can. I'll probably skip three or four steps, and then at the top, you can top it off with 10 quick, intense bursts.
And don't try these on an escalator. Right.
That'd be interesting.
Yeah.
Don't try them on an escalator, but this is one step. This is one of my favorite traveling plyometric exercise. So I'll see you guys next time.
All right. Awesome. Here he goes.
You go. Get that upper body into it. You want to take it back and.
You want to explode.
You want it half empty. Drive both those fists forward. You're going to feel it in the core. You can feel this in the core. When you've done precisely on the dunks and glutes.
Cool.
There he goes again. Three stairs at a time, folks. There goes Darren Steen from Fat Loss Lifestyle. It's Ben Greenfield from BenGreenFitFitness.com signing out. Check it out.
