Ben Greenfield demonstrates the Hindu squat: feet hip-width apart, arms extended forward, weight on your toes as you push your butt back. Exhale going down, inhale coming up. It hits your upper body harder than a regular squat.

Hi, I'm Ben Greenfield from Para Sports. A great way to get live biofeedback during your workouts. One of the exercises that you'll encounter during your pair sports workout is called a Hindu squat. I didn't make that name up, but I'm going to show you right now how to actually do one of these. You're going to start with your feet about hip width apart. You're going to extend your arms out in front of your body, and then from this position, you'll shove your butt out behind you while dropping down into a squat position with your weight on your toes, not on your heels. It looks like this down onto my toes and I come up and I pull as I come up. Now what you can do is exhale as you drop, inhale as you come up, and act as you inhale as though you're pulling all that air into your body. One more time, I drop, I'm on my toes here. I come up and I pull in. It's a great full body workout that incorporates the arms and the upper body a little bit more than a traditional squat might. So I'm Ben Greenfield from Pear and I hope that helped you out.
