A short YouTube demonstration by Ben Greenfield showing how to use a Metron breath tube to test for ketosis. The speaker walks through a hands-on procedure: remove caps, break a tiny glass tube, inhale deeply, exhale forcefully for 30 seconds into the device, break a liquid tube, then shake the device.

Hey, what's up? It's Ben Greenfield. And this little device that I'm holding here is something that allows you to test whether or not your body is in fatty acid utilization, whether or not it's in a state of ketosis. So it's kind of cool. It's called a metron breath tube. It's kind of fun. Techie, here's how you do it. It's got these two caps on either end. So you take one cap off and take the other cap off, but you don't throw them away because you going to need them later. And then there's a tiny, tiny little glass tube in here. And I'm going to break this glass tube.
I'm going to take a big breath.
I got to blow for 30 seconds.
Really hard.
Okay, that'll be good. Now next thing I want to do is put the caps back on. Okay? So I got all my air in there. Then there's another tube in there, a liquid one. And I break that one. Boom. Now I shake, shake, shake.
See, it's kind of. You get a lot of exercise when you're testing your ketones using these metron breath tubes. And then what I do is I can just tap it on the counter a few times because I want that liquid reagent to mix with the powder reagent. Okay. Now, pretty much all I do now is wait two minutes and I won't bore you with waiting two minutes on camera. If it stays tan, I'm not in ketosis. If it turns kind of purplish, then I'm in ketosis. That's it. So that's how to test your breath ketones using a metron breath testing tube. You could probably google it or whatever and you'll be able to hunt it down. I'll try and put a link underneath this video too, wherever this video happens to end up. Alright, I'm Ben Greenfield from BenGreenfieldFitness.com Hope that was helpful.
