Jeffrey Jaime and Tim Gilreath jump into Lake Coeur d'Alene for a Polar Bear Plunge to ring in 2009. The water turns out to be less brutal than they expected, and their countdown and immediate reactions are captured on video.
All right.
Ready to do this? All right, boys, let's see it. Okay, I'll take a picture.
All right. This is the Polar Bear Plunge.
Tim Gilreath and myself are going to.
Celebrate the beginning of 2009 by jumping into frigid waters of Lake Coeur d'. Alene. Because that's a rational thing to do.
We are rational people. I woke up this morning and I just kind of randomly thought of it. Apparently, 2,000 other people did as well. They're all rational people, too. Yeah. The unfortunate thing is that most everyone has already done it, and so there's very little peer pressure right now, which makes them more to ourselves, though. This way. Lots of room. Yeah. So.
I plan on staying in the water. Probably not much more than one second.
This one's done.
Shut up. It's not that cold.
I know. It's really. It's really warm, actually.
Still alcohol and bud. Okay, so we're gonna need a countdown for this.
Okay.
I think.
Not from five. That's not enough anticipation. 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
