Short YouTube podcast clip (Ben Greenfield interviewing Porangui) describing a custom-made sound healing table. The guest explains construction details: multiple transducers (low-frequency units for ≤~80 Hz, a full-range transducer for ~20–20,000 Hz), mounting in golden-mean proportions by a Colorado-based builder, and how the table turns into a vibrating resonator that couples sound directly into the body (felt as much as heard).

Hey, this is Ben Greenfield. I thought you'd like this little clip of my latest podcast. Yeah, you got, you got to describe this people, by the way. The soundtable.
Yeah, the sound table is really remarkable device. It's essentially, it's. This one's made by a guy in Colorado. It's, you know, custom made. And it's, it's made with transducers, multiple different transducers which are. Put simply, it's like taking the magnet out of a speaker. You know, instead of having the cone of the speaker, it's just the magnet, but so which vibrates the cone and that's what moves the air, that we hear the sound. In this case, we're essentially taking those transducers. And these are special ones, not just any speaker transducer, but they're made to recreate frequencies from 80 hertz and below. And there's multiple ones of this style. And then there's a full range transducer which is made to create everything up to 20,000 hertz and down to 20 hertz. And so that's the full range of human, what most humans can perceive, although not very few people can actually perceive that full range. So this, this essentially is then mounted and into this table in a way, in a golden mean ratio. And the guy who built it, you know, he's really into sacred geometry and, you know, really feels that that helps enhance this, this, and I don't know one way or the other. I just know it does work phenomenally well. So I just, I trust that. But he essentially mounts that. And what it does in effect is turn the entire table into a vibrating platform or a speaker, if you will. And then it's really more felt and heard. So when your body is coupled with it, the weight of your body pressing down into the table, then you basically become part of that resonator. And so you are essentially the speaker as well. So your body is also resonating. And so essentially it's a way of getting frequencies into the body directly and kind of bypassing the auditory that you're hearing your ears. You can actually hear it more, feel it rather than hear it.
