Chapters
Hey Ben and fellow Ironman Dominators, this is Todd Houston from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Just wanted to give you a bit of an update, Ben, on getting started with the Dominator plan.
Had a chance to read through everything.
Pretty much and.
Start building my annual training plan together. I'm going to be competing in ironman Canada on August 29, 2010. So my nine month plan, 6:36 week plan officially begins on I think it's.
The 21st of December.
So at this point I'm just doing some prep work trying to get my hours up from about six hours which I was doing last year to Prepare for a 70.3 race, to about eight hours this year just to get ready for some of the volume, even though it's lower volume than I was prepared for. Get used to that. 8 to 10 hours to 12 hours a week once I begin in December. So I'm pretty excited.
So far so good.
I'm really focusing on nutrition and working.
On the dropping the sugar cravings which.
Is a big part of what I need to work on really getting into the nuts and seeds and berries as.
Snacks and so far so good. It's tough with two young boys as.
I know you have as well in.
The house with lots of sweets and candy.
And I can actually say this week, as you said on the podcast, I.
Can look at a cookie or a.
Piece of candy and really not feel like I need to eat that. So this is really good and I'm really pleased so far.
So thanks again for putting this all together.
You know I said before it's not.
Rocket science but it's great to have.
It all together as a plan and a comprehensive plan. I've also started a bit of the strength training stuff. I got my gym stick which was.
Has been a lot of fun to work with.
It totally mixes up, you know, my bodyweight exercises and things like that. I'm not a gym guy, I like to do this stuff at home so I'm really looking forward to that as well.
So thanks again for all the stuff. Just wanted to say I'm. I'm your guinea pig.
I'm the guy who is my first Ironman come from, you know, just doing short course triathlon, things like that.
Pretty much a sprinter most of my.
Life, not an endurance guy. So with a family and.
Not a lot of time to train, I need quality and I need lots of guidance. So I'm your guinea pig and I'm looking forward to sharing with everybody how I'm doing throughout the year and hopefully I can get through that Ironman Canada with a smile on my face at the end. So thanks again and stay tuned for more updates.
