Ben Greenfield describes his morning smoothie routine and introduces black cumin (black seed) oil, summarizing a range of claimed health benefits—antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anticancer, anti-allergic, anti-diabetic, cardiovascular support, antifungal (candida), anti-anxiety, and detoxifying effects—and notes he adds about one teaspoon to his smoothies; he references an article on Supversity and promises links to studies and a product (Panaceta) in the video description.

Hey, I'm Ben Greenfield. It's morning time in the Greenfield home, and that means one thing. Smoothies. So right now I've got some spinach, some kale, some cucumber, some cabbage. There'll be like an avocado going in there. But I wanted to show you a new thing that I've started adding to my smoothie based on me reading a really interesting article. I'll put a link to the article underneath this video. It was at Supversity, and it was about this stuff called black cumin oil, which apparently in Asia is said to cure everything except death. It's almost like the Asian version of bone broth. And I started to make a list, and I'll post all the studies below this video, too, of the things that it does. Antioxidant, anti inflammatory analgesic, which is the scientific term for painkilling, just so you know. Anti cancer, anti allergic, meaning it can help with, like, seasonal allergies and stuff like that. Anti diabetes. This means that in studies on humans, it's been shown to lower blood glucose after a meal. Anti, not anti. Cardiovascular. Cardiovascular health. So it promotes cardiovascular health. Obviously, I didn't memorize all of this. Candida yeast fungus. It can help to control that stress. It's a natural antianxiolytic, which means that it acts kind of like passion flower or something else that helps to keep you from getting stressed. And then, of course, if you're watching this at the time of this video comes out, which is about the time of the new year, it's a detox for the liver and the kidneys. So it's called black cumin oil. You use it. And I'm just adding like a teaspoon to my smoothies for really big detox effect. You'd want to use like five or six teaspoons, but you don't need to use that much. This stuff is made by Panaceta. This is the same company that makes the green marine phytoplankton that I use. You can check it out@BenGreenfieldFitness.com BlackOil and. And it literally is black. It's like this dark kind of blackish oil. It's really, really cool black cumin seed oil. So I just put a teaspoon into my smoothie. It's got a really interesting kind of seed type of smell to it. Surprise. So black seed oil, check out BenGreenfieldFitness.com BlackOil if you want to get some. Check out underneath this video if you want to see some of the studies, some of the research on this stuff, but it's pretty cool. I'm looking forward to trying it out for a few months here.
