Ben Greenfield introduces concerns about computer-related health issues (glare, electromagnetic radiation, heat) and demonstrates two products he uses to reduce exposure and discomfort: a HaraPad laptop pad that absorbs heat/radiation and Gunnar glasses that block screen glare and reduce eye strain/headaches. He recommends using both to work longer at a computer with less physical discomfort.

Hey, folks, Ben Greenfield Here from BenGreenfieldFitness.com we talk a lot about health on this website, but one of the things that we haven't talked a lot about is the link between computers and your health, specifically glare, electromagnetic radiation, and the type of things that we're exposed to on a daily basis. So in this quick video, I want to show you two things that I use to reduce my exposure to EMFs or electromagnetic radiation or frequencies, and. And how I keep myself just a little bit healthier with the long periods of time that I spend in front of the computer as a coach, as a trainer, and as somebody who writes a lot of articles. So the first is this pad that you see underneath my computer. This is called a harapad H a r a pad. I'll put a link to it in the notes for this video, but it looks like this. It. It'll fit into my laptop bag. And when my computer sits on top of it, it absorbs heat and radiation from the computer. So whereas before, when I would put my computer on my lap and work for an hour, pardon the expression, but my balls would hurt, literally, my quads would get hot. I would get uncomfortable in my crotch when I use this, that doesn't happen anymore. And then the other thing that I use are these glasses. These are made by a company called Gunnar, and these actually block a glare from the computer screen. So if you get that headache, that uncomfortable feeling behind your eyes after you've been typing for a long period of time, these glasses are specifically designed to block that type of glare, allow you to look at your computer for a longer period of time without doing damage to your eyes. So I'll put a link to both of these underneath this video, but between the hera pad and the Gunnar glasses, you'll be able to work for a longer period of time in front of your computer without sabotaging your health.
