What is up everybody? I'm Ben Greenfield and I'm here at the Hawaii 70.3 Triathlon, staying at the Mauna Launi and I'm going to give you a little tour of my crib. So this is what the view looks like from the Mauna Lani Resort here in Kailua Kona. Or actually it's really not Kailua Kona, it's just Kona Big Island. That's the view from my room. You can see the grounds, little koi pond down there with some big fish jumping around the pool. And I'll show you my room. So this is what it looks like. It's a little messy, I'm going to apologize. But basically we got a nice sofa and table, office over there, nice big screen tv, a bed, and then as we go this way we've got a nice big closet, little refrigerator.
Bath, bathroom, shower. I got two sinks, have no clue what I'm gonna do with two sinks. But let's also head out here and I want to show you what it looks like outside. So when we step outside, I can look right down in the lobby here. It's a huge lobby. There's the entrance down there and down below there's like a seating area. There's just like turtles. Oh, there's a turtle right there. Turtles and ponds that just go all the way through this. It's like you're in some kind of like a, like a nature preserve or something. And it's a big, big place. A lot of rooms here, restaurants, everything like that. And come on downstairs, I'll show you. Alright, so like I promised, now we're outside the Mauna Lani. And if you look out here through the, through the jungle, no tigers or dinosaurs or anything like that, I promise. Way back in there there's like a fitness center and tennis courts and a pool. I'm not going to walk all the way over there right now, but I promise it's really cool. There's a sp. And then if you go this way, this is the actual entrance to the Mauna Lani. We've got some friendly guys there to help people bring their stuff in. They're always really nice. Looks like he's busy right now. We've got some fruit infused water which actually tastes really good. And then on either side as we walk through there's like this pond with these huge goldfish. It's actually a good place to stay with kids too.
My kids love fish. So we kind come in through here. It's pretty cool. We've actually got a little bit of a waterfall. Of course, there's triathletes everywhere with bikes. What's up, man?
Basically, like I said, water is everywhere. This is like a little glass waterfall that goes down. You go down the stairs. I'll show you the pool area. And here we are at the bottom. Showed you this from up in my room way up there. But this is what it looks like down here.
Alrigh continue our grand tour. Go down the stairs. And there's a bunch of like rooms and shops through here which I don't really care about because I don't go shopping. But I guess if you go shopping, then that's great. Awesome breakfast in there. By the way, that's the big old breakfast room. Unfortunately closed right now. Or I'd go in there and have some hash browns and bacon. There's a canoe. There's also a really good restaurant on the other side called the Canoe House. What's up, man? It's another triathlete.
So great restaurants here, by the way. There's like kind of like a casual restaurant. I'll show you in a second. And there's also like a nice restaurant. Bring your suit and tie type of thing. But both are pretty cool. So these are the grounds down below like I showed you from up in my room. We've got a pond down here with big old fish, koi turtles swimming around. And then this is the pool area right out here. And there is also, if we go out this direction, I'll show you here in a second. But the beach here, here is awesome. Great view. Pacific Ocean. As a matter of fact, after I shoot this video, I'm gonna be jumping in the hot tub and lounging for a little while because I'm racing tomorrow. But I wanted to kind of show you like this. This really is like the place that you want to. That you want to stay at if you come here for this race, trust me, it is the ultimate in Lux.
And it's like half the price of the hotel down the road too. Ok, this is the beach with the ocean out here. Awesome. Go out there and swim. A little windy right now. You can probably hear that in the audio for this camera. But basically this is what it looks like way out along the ocean. I went swimming out there this morning. Lots of like running trails and stuff packed back into there. And of course we're only five minutes from the Queen K highway, going on good bike rides. So. All right. I don't want to bore you too much. So that is the monolani you can check it out. I think it's monolani.com where you can just Google the Mauna Lani. But if you want to stay somewhere for a Hawaii triathlon, this is the place to stay. All right, I'm Ben Greenfield, over and out.
