I often hear from people, they don't know what to sell, they don't know what to put out there. So hopefully this answers that question of where to start. And I did a little bit of a series here, sort of in reverse order. If you're listening to this episode right now, I'd recommend listening to the one before this and then the one before this one these past three episodes. Listen to this one first, the previous one and then the one right before the previous one in that order. I think it's really going to help you reach your goals as a business owner and somebody. If you're just getting started, you don't even have any idea of what to do. These three together are a bit of a master's class for you, I think, to help you break through some of what might be stopping you from being successful and selling online and even having a business, even knowing where to start. So we're going to talk about, like that starting place today. If you don't know what to sell, if you don't have any idea of what you want to sell to people, Most of the people that I work with coaching, they have an idea of what they want to sell, some kind of product or service. But I have a number of people on my social media that don't even know where that is. And so that's why this is a resource that I created for you to help you in that journey is this episode. Most of my teaching then takes place after you've made a decision of what to sell. But let's break this down today. Let's kind of break this down. You want to start a business. You want to make money. You know that the Internet's a place that you can do that. But what do you sell? What's your product or service? A business is always. You either have a product or a service that you're bringing value to people with. Okay, so whatever that is, either you created or somebody else does. You want to get to the point where you're not working in your business, you're working on your business, and you're an entrepreneur that has staff and people running your business for you under your leadership. It's a place that you want to get to. But I, I know right now that seems a little bit far off, especially if you don't even know what you're going to sell. This is going to give you some ideas. So we always sell products or services. You can't sell other things. Really, as an entrepreneur, it's either a product that you made or somebody else made or a service that you do or somebody else does. And then you fit in somewhere in that equation. And so where a lot of people are stuck is, well, what should I sell? Right? I want you to look at what are your passions? What do you love? What are you good at? What do you like? What would you like to sell? If you could take a look at that, I want you to as well, to take a look at what's out there that people are selling right now. Listen, people sell all kinds of things. I'm looking at my, my, my office. They sell bookcases, books, balloons, lights, products on Amazon, furniture, physical products. They sell digital products, software courses. They sell Health, nutrition products, food, all commerce in business is just finding a need that's in the marketplace and filling it. Many times the reason people don't know what to sell is they're afraid of selling the wrong thing. And they don't do anything because they want to make sure that they're selling the perfect thing. So get that out of your head. There's the one perfect thing. There's a. You could sell a lot of things, but you are only going to have a sustainable business by picking one of those things. And here's the thing. The first thing that you pick to sell may not be what you're going to sell long term. You want to know what my first thing that I sold was? Service of building websites and editing videos for people. To this day I still consult people on their websites and video, but I don't do the services anymore. That was 18 years ago. I've even fallen back on those two things when I needed to make some money. Those services. Because I developed those skill sets, I was able to do those for people. But now what do I sell? Courses, coaching and consulting where I'll come in and help somebody's team build their business. Those are the only three things that I sell. You can either coach with me over zoom or on the phone. You can buy my courses or you can bring me in to consult and build your company for you. Okay, But I started by offering services, only by offering video services, marketing services, website building services. Taught myself how to do those things. Realized the real money is in the higher level stuff. Grew in skill of communication, leadership, sales ability. All of that made it a part of me to grow in these skill sets. And now that's what I sell to people. I see people, they sell e commerce products, whether it be drop shipping or they sell network marketing products or they'll write a book or create a course or they'll, they'll, they'll find something that they can sell to people. They'll do affiliate marketing on Amazon. They'll sell source and sell products on Amazon. They'll list products on Amazon. There's all these different things that you can sell. Where you're going to make the most amount of money is by picking one of them that really lights you up. That makes you excited, I think because if you're excited about selling that thing and then you can find customers that buy it, you have a business. What can you be the best in the world at? What will people want to buy from you? What can, what, what does the world need? What do people need? Answer those questions for yourself. At the end of the day though, there's so many different things that you can sell out there. Start somewhere and get some revenue coming in. Grow in that skill set of selling, get better at it. The biggest thing that stops people from selling is their fear and worry either how they're gonna be perceived by other people, or if people are gonna judge them or if people are going to buy from them. And that's what stops people from selling. And so if that's you, it might not be what you're selling. You don't know what to sell. You might be more caught up in how to sell things and nervous to sell. Personal development is a big area for you to look at, for you to focus on. Now if you feel comfortable selling, pick something to sell and build a business around that. Now, one of the hardest things to sell is art. I see a lot of people do like, I have a passion for art and I want to sell my art. It's actually one of the hardest things to sell because you are going to have to grind it out and make almost no money to, to gain the notoriety for people to buy from you. Now there's new opportunities with NFTs and things like that to sell art. So sometimes what you have a passion for selling, there's not always a market for that's wanting to buy from you. So maybe you can pivot and you can adjust. What does the market want? What are people buying? What are they paying for? Listen, people, by the way, are not just buying when they buy art. They're not just buying art because it looks good. They're buying it because of the bragging rights of who the person was that painted it. People buy music, they're buying how it feels, the emotion. But you got to build a following, you got to build an audience. All of these deal with building audiences. And that's what I teach people how to do in my courses. How do you build an audience? How do you get people to come to you, to buy from you? Whatever it is that you're selling, whatever you pick to sell, you're still going to have to build an audience and find the people that are wanting what you're selling. And so that's the foundation of sales is once you know what you're going to sell, then you find the people that want that thing. And certain products or services have more niche audiences and are harder to sell than others. Art is one of the hardest ones you, you know, because you're gonna have to find people that, that want what that is, unless you have a lot of volume. One of the easiest things to sell is services being able to do something for somebody else but you're trading dollars for hours in that. And so if you can find other people to do the service for you and, and you charge a spread of the difference in cost, you can scale that way. Services though do take a lot of energy. They're the easiest to sell but they take the most amount of energy to deliver on the back end. Cause there's the consistent and constant follow up. One of the best balances of selling is information, books, courses as well as e commerce products. What are people wanting to buy that are E commerce related? Those two types of things you can find the niche market that's looking for what you want, what you're selling and create offers that speak to them and connect with them. And that's what I walk you through in my irresistible offers that sell course. But you have to identify what it is that you want to sell. What's preventing you from picking something? Are you worried that you're going to pick the wrong thing? Do and sell something. Choose something you might want to change along the way. As you start selling, as you start identifying a product to sell, you'll get better at selling and you might identify something else that you want to sell. Now don't skip from thing to thing to thing that you want to sell too much. Really dive in faithfully and sell one thing for a while and get good at it. One of the biggest things that I see people doing though is they end up just selling to make money, not because they really care about what they're selling. And that's one of the hardest things to do because you're going to have to become a very good actor to do that. If you're really good at acting, that's great. If you're not, find something that you really are passionate about, you can speak to. And then you're going to have to connect with people to sell to them. You're going to have conversations with buyers to sell to them. So you want to identify what can you sell, what you can, okay, who's gonna buy it? How do I find those people that are gonna buy it? Social media ads course goes through that. How do I make offers to get them to buy from you? My offers course goes through that and you find as many of those people as possible and that's how you scale and build a sustainable business. Doesn't matter if it's online or brick and mortar. Brick and mortar is a little bit harder because you're limited to your local area. So you're gonna have to mobilize other people to help you sell. You're gonna have to build a community. Community is what sells. Building communities of people that both talk about what you're selling and can give you feedback on what you're offering. They become evangelists for what you're offering to people. They start telling other people about it. So if you're somebody who's at that place of identifying, what do I sell again? Maybe you have three things in mind. You're thinking about which one or two of those feels the best to you and then start weighing the difference between doing those two things and then in a week, pick one, Make a decision, set a deadline for yourself. At the end of this week, I'm going to decide on this one thing to do. That's what I'm going to sell and I'm going to go after it. And I'd love to hear from you what that thing is that you identified that you decided. Then we go to work creating offers to find the person who's gonna buy from you and to advertise to those people what it is that you sell. If you do network marketing, you can't do traditional social media advertising. You're gonna have to actually advertise you and market you as the brand, as a lifestyle brand, sell to people off your email list or organically or via one on one conversation. Because you can't just advertise a network marketing product through social media, they don't allow it. So that's why getting good at your people skills of selling is going to be one of the number one things that's going to help take you to that next level to allow you to be able to sell to people. And I have a number of podcast episodes where I talk about how to sell to people, how to get better at your salesmanship, at your ability to connect with people, at your ability to sell to people, what it is that you offer. Okay, so no matter what it is that you choose to sell, decide something, put it out there and then grow in your ability of finding new customers and selling to them. That's what I love to help people do. I love to help coach people on is how to sell what it is that they're offering. You can schedule a free 15 minute call with me on my website, jeremicrakowski.com we can talk about what it is that you're selling.
