If you're somebody that's growing, building a business with funnels, ads, Internet marketing, anything related to business, you can ask it in there. Or if it's just mindset, personal growth, things like that. Today is going to be very strategic about business. We're going to talk about social media and social media content. And if you've been following me for a while, you know that I have basically an unlimited supply of social media content and ideas that I put out there. Let's see, we got 123 podcast episodes, I think. I've done a live video every single day for two and a half years now. And I've also now been doing three videos a day to my Reels and TikTok. So like, that comes out to be over like three thousands of video pieces of content a year, plus written content, plus blog posts. Where do I come up with all these ideas? You might think that I sit around all day just trying to come up with ideas for content. To be honest, no. I spend some time now more dedicated in the mornings to doing some research, but really it comes through journaling time. In the morning when I get up, I come up with these ideas, but it's whatever's on my heart for my target customer. And that's where you have to start. When you're making content, you can't make it be about you. You can't make it be about how you look, how people are perceiving you, what they think about you, how they're going to judge you. Listen, they're going to judge you either way. So you might as well not even Worry about how they're thinking about you. At the end of the day, though, your content on your social media is all about your Target customer. In 2021, you have to start making more video content. It's not an option not to. I get that some people are scared of showing up on camera. You don't know what to say. You don't know if you look good enough. You don't want to be judged by people. It makes you feel uncomfortable to do that. But this is one of those areas of personal growth that we have to grow past and get past some of that fear. One of the best books that I know on that topic that can help you is called the Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. The Big Leap. It's got a little fish jumping into a fishbowl on the COVID And, man, I actually think that that book right there is gonna set you up for success when it comes to content creation, because it's gonna help you stop overthinking and getting out of your head so that you can then flow. When I make content, basically, I start with just an idea, just something that I wanna share with people, and then I flow with it. Now it's taken me a little while to get to that flow state where I just flow. I don't. I don't even have any notes right now. My friends. I don't have any notes. I'm talking as if I'm talking to a friend of mine. Now, obviously, when I talk to my friends, I don't. High energy and just, you know, just me talking, that's not a relationship. Right. But when we're doing a podcast like this, it's a monologue. It's a. It's like a monologue segment. And so one of the ways that I've gotten good at that is I've studied other people that have done successful monologue segments on television and podcasts over the years. When I started making content, I started consuming a lot of content, seeing what are the patterns that I notice across the board. One of the biggest things is that when you make content, you gotta have your energy as high as possible. People resonate with high energy much more than low subdued energy. So that's a big pattern that I noticed across the board when it comes to creating content. And then I noticed, oh, people are leaving comments on this video on YouTube. Oh, they're writing in on a blog post. Oh, and then the next week's piece of content that the author or writer created, Dr. Henry Cloud was actually somebody that I studied how he did this his content was based off of all of the feedback that was coming in from his audience. And so one of the biggest and best ways that you can make unlimited content is start trying to connect with and talking to as many strangers as possible throughout the week. As many people that fit into your target customer group. Who's my target customer? People that are looking to create good content and grow a brand on the Internet to get their messaging down, to get more sales leads, customers and clients. Listen, if you're watching me right now, I'm pretty sure you probably fit right into that group of people because that's what I've tailored all of my content around. And so then I think through, okay, what are the problems and frustrations that they have? Some of you, like I see watching me live right here, I got a fly on the wall type thing on live where people are watching me. I've sent you direct messages and asked, what's your biggest frustration? What's your biggest problem? And, and I get that feedback from people and then that helps me create better content. So all of my content is fed through how can I bring value to solve problems for my target customer? What is their biggest issue that's stopping them? That I can think of based on the conversations that I have with people. And then I just talk about those things. I just start talking about the problem. You want to actually lead with the problem. It's difficult to come up with making content. So how do you make it easier? You think about who your target customer is, not about yourself, not about what message you want them to get either, by the way, and this is a big one. You may have a message in your heart, but if you're not leading with what connects with the person on the other side of the screen and what their desires are, what their needs are, what they care about, you're not going to be able to connect with and resonate with those target customers. And so you have to lead with what do they care about the most? What are their problems, what are their issues, what are their frustrations? And then what value and solutions can I bring to the table to help them? Now, when it comes to my content, I usually look at what is the very first step, the widest group of my audience, of what they're struggling with. Most of the time it has to do with mindset boundaries, time management, social media, the basics, right? And then I have paid programs about Facebook advertising, funnels, offers, course creation, website building. Then from there I have one on one coaching where we dive into the nuances of everybody's business. And then from there I do high level consulting if somebody wants me to come in and help basically build their business with them. And so these are the different levels that people pay me and work with me. But it all starts with I look at who is my target customer, who is the person that I most engage with. It's most likely, maybe they're not a millionaire yet, but they want to be someday. And if they follow the right path, they can get there. And then what are the problems and frustrations that they experience on a regular basis? How do I know what those are? I ask questions. I start asking questions on my social media. I start getting comments and feedback from people on my social media. I start hearing it's a feedback loop from the people on the Internet, the strangers on the Internet. If you're watching me right now, you're a stranger. Some of you are strangers. Some of you not as much strangers. Some of you I've worked with a lot through one on one coaching. And then I think about, okay, if I had all of these people that have engaged with me in a room at one time, right now, in this moment, what message would I want to share with them the most? And so then that decides what content I create for my blog, my email list, my social media and my podcast. And then I go into a more nuanced level where I look at the data. So in the beginning, we want to kind of put as much of it out there as possible, all the different topics, right? But I'll notice, okay, on this platform, they're resonating more with boundaries messaging, right? My Facebook page is a lot of boundaries messaging. A lot about, you know, standing up for yourself and finding your voice. My Instagram people are, they're definitely caring more about that reels type of a content. My podcast people want more specific, strategic level stuff. And so think about the different platforms that they're on that your audience is on. When you blanket the platform with as much content as you can, then you'll start to look at, okay, what pieces of content are sticking more than others and you'll start to ramp up the volume on what is sticking more. So now I'm actually starting to do just a lot more content on boundaries and not letting negativity into your life and changing the friends that you hang out with and making sure that you support yourself and self care and mental health. My social media, because I know that if somebody can get that, if they can get their mind right, that's somebody that's ready now to grow A business. You can't grow a business if your mindset isn't in the right place. If you allow fear to dictate your life, if you allow worry to control you, if you're worried about what other people think about you all the time, you can either worry or grow. You can either become wealthy or. Or stay fearful. There's not a. Not a line where you can do both. And so that's why when I connect with my audience, I want to help empower, encourage, and raise up people that are going through these different struggles. Now, who am I to speak on these things? Right? Well, a lot of the stuff that I talk about is things that I have experienced myself or I've walked through with somebody else, or I've seen firsthand experience what helps in these situations. And so that's how I know that. I know that I know that I can speak on these topics and help these people. Now, some of you may not feel as confident in your level of knowledge to create content. A way to grow in that is start putting yourself into situations where you can learn new things, new scenarios, where you have to grow and make different decisions. Start reading more books, start listening to more podcasts, and start learning more. Start consuming more learning material to grow in areas where maybe you struggle. You know, two years ago, I struggled a whole lot in the area of leadership when it came to leading teams. I was the lead of a team, and I struggled to lead that team well. So I started devouring as many books on leadership that I could find to get better at that and realize, wow, I had a whole lot to learn, and now I have to put that into practice. I've been able to put that into practice now with new clients that we've worked with, and the results have been incredible. And so now I have a place of authority to speak on leadership and how to lead teams and how to motivate people and how to grow and build companies. And so for you, let's back it up. Let's back it up, and let's simplify it, right? You have your product or service, you have what you're offering for sale. I want you to think about who is buying that, who is purchasing what you sell. Have you thought about that? If you haven't, I actually go through a deep dive in my course, Irresistible offers that sell, where I break down exactly how to identify on a very deep level who your target customer is, what your customer avatar is, so that you deeply understand more of what those nuances are, so that you really, you start to get to know your customer better. The truth is this, is that you can't sell unless you know who you're selling to, what drives them, what their desires are, what their needs are, what keeps them up at night, what their problems are. And if you don't know the answers to those questions, it's your job to go discover it. Like a detective, you go and discover what you don't know about your target customer, and it becomes kind of like a game a little bit. That's actually the funnest part for me, is when I discover a new thing that my customers are wanting or needing more help with or looking for. When I can discover those things. Now, that gives me an opportunity to say, okay, if I don't know anything about this, I'm gonna grow and learn in this area. And if I do, I'm gonna speak on it right, right away and share my thoughts and help empower people, encourage them, and help them grow in that area. Now, listen, I don't claim to know everything. If I did, I'd probably recommend you don't listen to me. People that claim to know everything aren't really worth listening to in the first place. We're all in a place where we're growing, where we're learning new things, where we're discovering what we don't know. When it comes to your content, it's all about the person who's on the other side of that screen. Who are you connecting with? What are their desires? What do they care about? What are their needs? How can you bring solutions to them? And then what you do is you bridge that. You bridge the problem that they have and who the customer is to what you sell to what you offer. So you bridge it to, hey, I have this free trial here, Something that's a way for you to grow in this area. Or I have this free course or this free training. A lot of the people that I work with are course creators, membership owners, people that have digital products. If you have an agency or do services, you can still do case studies. You can still offer to show people a case study of how you helped XYZ client do this. If you have a physical product, you can help educate people on the benefits of your product, help educate them on the possibilities of it you're ultimately selling. Transformation to people. When you're selling something, you're helping them see themselves after they buy it from you. That's what your goal is when you're selling. And so in your content, you're able to sort of tell the story, tell the story of your customer, tell the story of other customers, tell your story and connect and bridge the gaps between what their problem is and the solution that you offer. Sale. And so if you do this, that's how you can effectively reach your target customer through your content. Now, how do you come up with limitless amounts of content? Right. Let's say you sell common one CBD Oil. That's a big one. Well, think about all the issues that somebody that would buy CBD Oil deal with on a regular basis and then speak to those. See, they don't have to do with everything that you sell. It doesn't have to deal with your product. If you're in real estate, let's say you sell homes. You don't have to talk about just home stuff. But think about who is the person that would buy this product. What do they deal with on a regular basis? See, you're building trust and rapport with people and then you're able to create content that's connected with that. Listen, I don't have any products that relate to boundaries, but I know that if I can help somebody grow in boundaries, they can set good boundaries on their life, on their time management and their ability to be disciplined, to grow a business increases. And now I can help them create offers that sell and make seven and eight figures online. And so while I don't sell anything related to boundaries, I talk about it a lot because most people are not trained to have the level of boundaries that you need to have as an entrepreneur and as a business owner. And I think boundaries is one of the secret cheat codes or the secret sauce that really helps you become successful as a business owner because you have boundaries on whose opinions you listen to. You have boundaries on where you spend your time, how you manage your time. It's foundational. So that's why I talk about it a lot, because a lot of the people that I connect with also need help in those areas. You know, if you're a business owner, if you're somebody that's growing a business, you want to serve people, you may be a recovering people pleaser, somebody that has always does what everybody tells them to do at the detriment of themselves, sacrificing themselves and not taking care of themselves. Can I get an amen from that? How many of you resonate with that? That was me. That's how I've lived my life for so long. And so now coming out of that, I realized, first off, that's not helping anybody. Second off, if I want to be serious about Growing my business, I'm gonna have to grow out of that area. So you see, my content, I don't sell. Teaching on boundaries, I don't sell really. I actually don't even have anything on social media content that I sell either other than my one on one coaching. But I talk about these topics because they're of concern for my target customer. And then that connects my target customer to me in other ways. They might see me talk about this. They get a result in their life from me recommending a book of some kind. Then they come to me later when they want to learn how to generate leads for XYZ business. You see how that works. So when you create your content, you think about who is the person you always have to lead first with the target customer. What do they want, what do they desire, what do they care about? What are their problems? You get to know your target customer better than you know yourself, your product or your service. And when you can do this, you're able to then sell to them successfully. How do you come up with a volume of content? Well, you look at, okay, I talked about this topic, A lot of people engaged with it, A lot of people resonated with that topic. What are the subtopics, subcategories that I can talk about? There's a really cool website that you can check out called answerthepublic.com and this is a resource that you can actually use where people are asking about having boundaries with business. Let's just type that in. And these are questions that people are asking on the Internet based on these topics. And then you can actually create content around some of these questions that people are asking. So you know, why should you have boundaries? How do you have boundaries? How can you. What's the best way? See, so now that creates five different pieces of topic on the same topic. It becomes like a tentacle that comes out from the main piece of content. But you got to make it all about who is your target customer, who are you connecting with, what are their needs, what are their problems, what are their frustrations? And how can you help them grow? How can you bring value that then ultimately will connect them to what you have to sell? Oh, by the way, your goal with all of this isn't to make them buy from you anything. You just are trying to create a connection with your target customer. Because ultimately when I create content, I want to learn more about them. I want to learn more about what are they dealing with, what are they struggling with. The three, I only knew two of them this Morning. I learned a third one this morning. The three reasons that people tell me that they struggle to make video content is they're afraid of how they look. Maybe they feel like they're too overweight or they don't like how they look. Again, you're just going to have to do it. Put yourself in front of the camera. People would rather see vulnerable and real than fake and perfect on social media. Second, they don't know what to say on their social media. Or third, they're just really concerned about it being effective and perfect and not making mistakes. And so those three areas, if I can talk more on that self image, having a healthy self image, I'm gonna start to talk more on that topic. Seeing yourself in a positive light and not caring about the opinions of everybody else around you, that's gonna help you become powerful as a business owner, accepting whatever outcomes come. If you put a whole bunch of pieces of content out there and they don't resonate and they don't get you sales, that's okay. It's okay. Now that might be devastating for some of you to even think about that, but that's part of the process. You're gonna get better at creating content by becoming okay with that. It doesn't always have to produce a result that there's a process that you're going through to become better at making content. And then the third one is like we talked about, coming up with ideas. Just start asking questions of your target customer or go look at who else is influencing your target customer. Are those people answering questions? Another great thing is on TikTok, a lot of influencers have a Q and a tab on their TikTok app. You can click that Q and A. I can click on any number of people in my niche and look at the questions that their clients are asking them. And you can create content based off of that. There's Quora answers. There's all kinds of different things where you can look at what are the questions people have. And then if you have an answer to it, that's connected to and related to the niche that you're in and your target customer, it's not about your product, it's about your customer. It's about the person on the other side of it. It's about the person that's spending the money, not what they're buying from you. Okay? Keep that in mind. When you can connect with that person and you make content that that person cares about, that's how you connect with people effectively with your social media content. And then to start having continuous conversations with those people about what they need, what they desire, what they care about. And it's a learning experience. You're gonna learn more and new things about what these people care about on the Internet as you grow in this way.
