Now in this episode, I want to talk about Keys to no Longer Fear Other People's Opinions. I see this as one of the number one areas that stops business owners from being successful. The ones that I talked to. It all kind of boils down to this. We talked about self belief last week. This is kind of a piggyback off of that topic. All about no longer fearing others opinions and walking powerfully if you are afraid of what other people think about you. I actually did this live on my social media this past week and it was so good I decided to make it this week's podcast instead of recording something else. So this is the recording from this week. So if you've already watched it on my social, great. If you haven't watched all the way through it, please watch through the end. There's eight or nine points actually that I break down in it and so.
Go through all nine points.
They're very valuable for you. And watch all the way through the end because it wraps up and builds and, and just becomes this big concept that kind of takes about 15 minutes to explain. But it's worth it. Once you get through the end of it, you're going to unlock something that I believe is going to change your life. So without further ad, here's Keys to no Longer Fear Other People's Opinions.
I want to break this down for you. I believe that this is one of.
The biggest factors as business owners, as.
People that's going to activate you to be more effective in your life is when you no longer fear what other people think about you.
That way people could literally have the.
Worst possible opinion of you. They could think whatever they want and it won't affect you in any way whatsoever. It won't affect you negatively.
It's not going to affect how you.
Think, how you act, how you respond, your decisions, anything like that. The biggest thing to start with on this and not a lot of people are going to like this one. In fact, I'm probably going to lose some people on this video when I put the first one is integrity. All right, see, I have to start with integrity. If I'm going to be talking about this because a lot of people are like, well, if I'm not going to fear others opinions and how do I know what I'm doing is right? Well that's where you establish your own discernment of integrity. You stand powerfully knowing that what you're doing is right. You could have somebody accuse you of doing wrong. But when you know that you're in integrity and you're not doing that wrong and they're lying about you, it has zero effect on you whatsoever. Now yeah, if you're a crook, if you're a criminal, if you're somebody that's hurting other people and people are saying things about you, my friends, come on, you don't want to be a psychopath. That is just hurting other people and not giving a care what other people think. That's not what we're talking about here.
We're talking about the people pleasers.
We're talking about people that have integrity. We're talking about people that are world changers in a positive way. And if that's you, if you're watching this right now, I urge you, you are going to have to grow into somebody that no longer fears other people's opinions. And that starts with integrity. That's a whole conversation in and of itself. But when you know that, you know that, you know that you're operating in integrity, you don't need to worry about what other people think about you because your self belief is greater than what other people think about you. Oh, and by the way, self belief is not pride. In fact, we want to get rid of pride. We want to reduce our level of pride. Self belief and pride can't coexist and self belief has to have humility. Pride and humility can't coexist. Okay? So when you're humble, when you know your limitations, when you're not trying to prove and validate yourself to people, when you know that you operate from integrity and you believe in yourself far greater than any opinion somebody else has. Think of it like a scale. You got a scale here with two ends on it, right? And there's, there's weights and measures. I'm just going to put that scale and they go up or down based on the opinions that other people have of you. If you have that scale in your life and you're putting other people's opinions on this, this level that's going to push down and it's weighted more, you're going to operate out of fear of what other People think about you at all times. You're going to operate as somebody who is worried about how other people are weighing and measuring you and the comparison bug that gets inside of you because you're fearful of if you're doing right or wrong because you're, you're, you're relying on codependently other people to tell you if you are doing the right thing, that is the wrong way to live life. And so your self belief has to be greater than the opinions of other people around you.
And it's funny, I lost quite a.
Few people on this. They're going to, they're going to wish they didn't log off because I'm going to share. This is if you have mentors and community around you. You see, this is the part that.
Maybe people thought I was saying that.
You don't need mentors and community. They have a higher level of weight of opinion than just random people out there. So when you're operating in integrity, you have positive self belief that comes, that's rooted in humility, not pride. Pride and self belief coexist. We mentioned this. They have to be, it has to be totally humble and totally believing in yourself. And you have positive mentors and a community around you, people that can call you out when you're doing something wrong. People that can speak life into your life. But they're not critical people. They're not people that are criticizing you. They're not people that are negative towards you. You see, you want to limit your exposure and even eliminate your exposure to negative critical people. Mentors and community are not negative critical people. They're not the same thing. So you want to limit your exposure to or eliminate your exposure to negative critical people. Oh, and by the way, now that becomes a little bit painful because you yourself might be a negative critical person. This is where I found myself at the, at the, at the, at the edge of right here about, about a year ago is I was operating and doing all this stuff, but I was struggling to have confidence, to have self belief. I was struggling to limit my exposure to negative people, have good mentors in my life, operating out of pride instead of humility, didn't have self belief. Now yes, I was operating in integrity and I know that. But because of this I was lacking a whole lot. And so what I had to do is I had to limit the exposure to certain people in my life, set boundaries around those critical people. But here was the big key, here's the big key that I realized recently is I had to remove the weight That I put behind my own critical opinions of other people, how much I expected other people to weigh my opinions. You see, what helps eliminate the fear of other people's opinions is when we no longer put weight behind our own opinions of what other people are doing wrong. If I expect you to be terrified and fearful of my opinion, that's going to come right back at me, to be terrified and fearful of your opinion. And so when we operate in this way, we're constantly expecting people to attack us, expecting attackers, expecting perpetrators, expecting foes to come into our life, people that are going to come after us, they're going to seek us out, warfare, witchcraft, whatever you want to call it. We're expecting it in our lives because that's how we've experienced. And then we put so much weight behind our own judgment, behind our own opinions, behind what we think about other people, that it ends up being exactly what Jesus said. By the measure that you judge others, you'll be judged. That's a paraphrase of the book of Matthew. And so when we remove the weight of our judgment of other people and we no longer judge others on this level, that we expect them to change their life just because we judge them, that we're no longer going around even when we see somebody doing something, sitting there and stewing in anger of our judgment. I've seen people do that. They stew in the anger of the judgment that they have towards what other people are doing wrong. It's. It's sad. And so when we remove the weight of our judgment towards what other people are doing wrong, we no longer fear other people's opinions of us, because we're no longer afraid of our own judgment coming right back at us, because that's what we're ultimately fearing. And we're no longer expecting attackers and foes to come after us. And instead we are expecting joyful encounters. Okay, we start expecting our encounters with everybody to be joyful, to be joy filled, to be fun, to be exciting, to be something that is good to experience. Now you might think, oh, Jeremiah, you're just saying that we don't listen to people that have different opinions than us. Are you saying that we are going to segregate ourselves from certain people that we disagree with? No. In fact, when you operate in this model that you're afraid of other people's opinions, you won't listen to other people when you do this. You can have a wide range of friends with different beliefs and come together in unity in your differences because you're not trying to control each Other, we give up the need to make and control other people to be like us. And then we no longer fear we what other people think about us in their attempt or even believe that they're trying to make us like them, okay? And so we no longer worry if they're trying to turn us into them, because we give up the need to try to make, control and judge others. And so when we operate from a place of integrity, we believe in ourselves so much more than anybody else's opinion in our lives. Now, when you got multiple mentors and voices in community coming to you, calling you out on something, there's weight behind that. But you limit your exposure to people that are negative and critical. In fact, eliminate your exposure to those people. You operate from a place of humility, not pride. You no longer expect people to come after you in your life and for people to attack you in your life. You no longer expect that. You expect joyful encounters. And you remove the weight of your own judgment that you place on other people's actions. And you stop judging other people. You're no longer afraid of the fear. You no longer have fear of other people's judgment towards you, whether it's true or not. That's where the integrity comes in. That's where having mentors and community comes in. People that can call you out on stuff. You're no longer afraid of somebody accusing you of something coming after you or what might happen, because you're operating from this framework, and this allows you to become limitless in what you do. And I've seen it happen for people. I've seen it happen in my own life, and I know that it can happen for you. But a lot of people don't walk through this right here. They're, for whatever reason, they have beliefs that get them all stuck on, on one or two of these, and they stay stuck in.
And they keep judging other people.
They keep justifying their judgment. They keep putting a lot of weight behind their judgment. They keep expecting other people to hurt them and attack them. They, they, they keep themselves around critical, negative people. Maybe they don't even operate in integrity. I don't know. Yes or no, that's a personal thing that you decide for yourself if you're operating in integrity. When you do, you no longer fear or worry about other people's opinions of you. And then you can go out there and build your business with confidence because you're not fearful of how it might play out. You're not trying to control or make anybody do anything. You go out there and Build your business because you know it's what you've been called to, not because you're trying to operate within the framework of others validation towards you. Okay? And so I believe that this, this framework is really going to help a lot of you. If you've been building a business for any sort of length of time, maybe you're been fearful about what other people think about you. Maybe you have struggled with the worry of when people see you online, how they're going to look at you, how they're going to perceive you, how they're going to judge you from not being good enough, not being smart enough, not being pretty enough, not sounding the right way. When we no longer exist in this old framework and we start to change these beliefs inside of us and operate in that powerful, confident way, and we.
Expect joyful encounters in all that we.
Do, it changes everything of how you live your life. And some of you may need help professionally to get to this place where you're no longer expecting to be attacked.
And to have joyful encounters.
That came for me through six months of therapy every single week. I was talking to a therapist once a week for six months, and I no longer expect attackers anymore in my life. But prior to that, I always expecting people to come after me. And now I'm not confidently can say that. And if somebody tries to come after me, I don't fear that. I don't have a fear of that person trying to come after me anymore. And so six months of therapy really helped me get to that place where I started to expect the best in situations and operated powerfully and confidently and didn't fear other people attacking me. And so this is a framework that can help you in your life, in your business and your personal life to become more confident and to get more done. No matter what happens inside or outside or around you for the rest of your life, if this has helped you share it with somebody. If you're listening to this, I'm going to make this into the next podcast episode for the next week because I think it's so powerful, it's going to become that podcast episode.
